Chapter 455
The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning
Madelyn smiled politely. A hint of detachment flashed upon her eyes as she said, âItâs fine. The elevator is full, so weâll take the next one.â
When she rejected Ethan in front of so many people, they looked at her and Ethan with complex gazes, Madelyn turned to Kennedy and said, âI left something in the room. I need to go back and take it.â
Kennedy nodded, âIâll wait for you.â
Madelyn responded, âOkay.â
When she turned around and left, the elevator slowly closed. Ethan knew she was lying. Indeed, Madelyn did not leave anything behind. She simply wanted to avoid him.
Madelyn spent a few minutes in the private room. She only left when the waiter came in to clean the table.
Madelyn and Kennedy took the elevator down to the first basement floor. She sat in the front passenger seat and fastened the seatbelt, âAll right. Letâs go.â
Kennedy stopped her, âWait.â
Madelyn looked confused, âHuh?â
Kennedy suddenly leaned forward to Madelyn. She leaned back slightly, thinking he might do something to her.
However, she believed Kennedy was not a frivolous person. She was right when she noticed that he raised his hand and lifted her hair that was tangled in her seatbelt with his fingers. He said, âYour hair.â
Madelynâs dropped her guard a little, âThank you.â
Kennedy looked away from outside the car window. He then stepped on the accelerator and left the parking lot. After a short distance away from the parking lot, there was a Maybach near them. Inside the Maybach, there were a few cigarette butts on the floorboard.
Donna snatched the halfâsmoked cigarette from Ethanâs hand. She sat with her legs crossed. Her skirt slit opened, revealing her long legs. She exhaled a puff of smoke through her red lips, âEthan, Iâll get jealous if you keep staring at her like that.â
She leaned forward and blew the smoke into his face, âIâm back now. You arenât allowed to have any other women in your heart.
âWeâre the perfect match, right?
âI know you still havenât moved on from me after all these years. After all, we shared so many firstsâ¦â
Ethanâs voice was low and deep when he emotionlessly said, âLetâs end this now.â
Donna suddenly stopped smoking. She quickly threw away the cigarette that she had not finished smoking. She fixed her skirt and sat up straight, âGot it. Iâll stop joking with you. You said you wanted to make up for missing my birthday, right? Have you reserved a table at a restaurant? Letâs go now.â
Ethan tilted his head and gave her a look, âYou know what I mean! Donna, we should end our relationship now.â
Indeed, at the lowest point of his life, Donna was there to go through his most difficult times with him.
She had taught him a lot.
As a kid, Ethan had always known that his parentsâ relationship was not good. So, he was very obedient. He made himself an excellent child. He tried his best to mend his family.
Unfortunately, he failed. Another woman came into their life.
When his mother learned that Ethanâs father stayed out all night, she would drink to drown her sorrows.
She drove herself mad.
When she went crazy, Ethan became a superfluous person to her. She would hit and scold him. After drinking, she would lock
