Chapter 532
The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning
The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 532 Donna already knew the answer. An hour and a half later, the villaâs front door swung open. The code?
Her birthday. âSee, he still remembers.â
Upon seeing Donna, Ethan was filled with fury. But as he noticed the scars on her face and arms, along with the clothes from the psychiatric ward she was wearing, his anger slowly faded. He stared at her with a troubled look. â Who got you out of prison? I donât have time for your games.â
Ethan was about to leave when Donnaâs voice, filled with hysteria, halted him. I was imprisoned because of a comment you made! Do you realize the torment I endured? They held me down, cutting me with sharp blades, leaving marks all over my arms and body. They labeled me as delusional, shameless, and so much worse!
âAfter I said, âWe used to be together,â they turned against me. Everyone acted like they could push me around. I was brutally attacked, almost killed. If someone hadnât found me in the nick of time and put me in a mental hospital, Iâd be gone by now. What did I do to deserve such cruelty? Ethan, canât you recall? You never let anyone harm me before. Youâd always protect me from bullies.â
Tears filled Donnaâs eyes. She seemed almost mad from all the pain she had endured, and her spirit had been shattered long ago. Ethan, unaware of everything she had endured, was left speechless.
âThey sent me to a mental hospital, made me get injections, and take medication. Iâm not sick,â Donna sobbed, âbut they wouldnât listen. I wanted to leave, but even if I felt fine, they made me take the meds.â
Her shaky voice and cries filled the silent villa. Ethan replied coldly, âWhat do you want as compensation? Is five million dollars enough?â
Hearing the offer, Donna burst into laughter. âFive million, Ethan? You really think money can make up for everything Iâve been through? Are you trying to buy my life, too? If thatâs your plan, Iâd rather have died in that car crash. Iâve got nothing left. And without me around, youâd be free to marry whoever you want.â
Donnaâs physical injuries were nothing compared to the pain she felt inside. As heavy rain poured down, she stepped out, hoping it would cleanse Anthonyâs blood from her. But the rain could not wash away her emotional pain. Seeing her outside, Ethan rushed to her side and led her back into the living room, away from the downpour.
âThatâs enough! You chose to leave once; you shouldnât have come back.â
âIâll leave then. To you, Iâm just some crazy woman who doesnât care what people think.â As Donna tried to walk away, Ethan grabbed her. âYou took someoneâs life. Thereâs no just walking away from that.â
Donna laughed. âCanât you just admit you still care about me? If you didnât, why show up today?â
Both drenched from the rain, their clothes stuck to them, making them look a little disheveled. She reached out to touch Ethanâs face, her eyes filled with warmth and affection. She then tiptoed to kiss him. Ethan tried to push her away, but in her passion, she bit his lip in frustration.
