Chapter 582
The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning
The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 582 Madelyn went to Haysonâs room. She saw a caregiver feeding Hayson medicine. Madelyn asked, âWhat medicine are you feeding him?â
The caregiver glanced at Madelyn, â This is the medication for treating Mr. Jentâs stroke.â
Madelyn saw that Hayson had opened his eyes. He was awake, but he looked out of it. All of a sudden, he started to shake and then threw up the medicine.
Quickly, the caregiver put the medicine bottle down and began wiping him off. Madelyn, watching from the side, saw the annoyed look on the caregiverâs face. After a hasty cleanup, the caregiver tried to give him the medicine again. But Hayson threw up again, and this time it was even worse. Even from where Madelyn stood, she could smell the bad odor. She pulled back the blanket and saw that the bed was wet with urine.
The caregiver frowned as she said, âMs.. Jent, you should leave for now. I need to change his clothes.â
Madelyn said firmly, âIâll handle it. Please get the medicine ready and bring me a copy of the prescription.â
The caregiver, Amber Upton, hesitated, âMr. Jardin assigned me this responsibility. Iâm not sure I should step away.â Madelynâs voice instantly turned cold, â This is my home, not his. Iâm letting you know now that youâre no longer needed.â
Amber stood her ground, âMs. Jent, you canât just fire me without a valid reason. Our contract states youâd owe me triple compensation if you do.â
Unfazed, Madelyn said, âWhatever the cost, I want you out. Iâll make sure youâre paid according to the contract. Now, please leave.â
Amber shot back, âMr. Jardin hired me. Heâs the only one who can let me go.â
Madelyn said, âWell, think about it carefully then. If I talk to him and he tells you to leave, you wonât see a dime. Huffily, Amber stormed out of the room. Madelyn had suspected Amberâs intentions since yesterday. In her eyes, anyone employed by Zach was not to be trusted.
Wanting to freshen the room, Madelyn opened the windows and doors, allowing the fresh air to waft in and dispel the unpleasant smells.
Amber went downstairs. Three people were having their breakfast at the table. She mumbled as she approached Zach, âMr. Jardin, Iâm sorry, but I canât continue working here. Just now, Ms. Jent went upstairs and didnât seem satisfied with my work. She got angry and fired me.â
Zach replied casually, âAlright then. Weâll pay out your salary as agreed. Itâll be in your account promptly.â
Amber did not expect to get such a response. âI was making five thousand dollars a month here. Being let go like this⦠How will I find such a good paying job again?â she pondered.
She could not help but feel reluctant to leave. âMr. Jardin, you see⦠I was doing my job well, but I got dismissed suddenly. Iâve worked for just a few days. Isnât this a bit unreasonable?â
Jadie slowly said, âMadelyn doesnât seem like the type of person whoâd target someone without any reason. Zach, could there be a misunderstanding? I heard jobs are hard to find now because of the financial crisis. Should we ask Madelyn to let her stay?â
After Zach was done eating, he carefully wiped his mouth, âClause fifteen of the contract clearly states that I have the right to hire and terminate you at any time. Sheâs the heiress of the Jent family. I donât think I need to explain this to you. If she wants you gone, itâs her right.â
Amber tried to speak, âButâ¦â
Zach stopped her, âNo âbutsâ.â
Jadie tried again, âZachâ¦â
He looked at her sternly, âThis is about the Jent family. Jadie, donât butt in unless youâre asked.â
