Chapter 676
The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning
Zach arrived at exactly twelve oâclock.
The maids prepared the food on time too.
Zach would usually eat in the company cafeteria, so Madelyn knew exactly why he had come all the way here today.
Zach took out his suit and sent all the maids away upon entering the villa, leaving Madelyn alone.
inside The maids had prepared plenty of dishes.
Zach noticed the teacups on the table, which the maids had forgotten to clear. Then, his gaze grew hostile. âSomeone came here today.â
Madelyn sat at the dining table and answered truthfully after eating a few bites of the food. âIt was Yvonne. There was something I wanted to ask her about.â
Then, Zach saw the nail marks on her arm. âWhat was it? Why didnât you just ask me instead?
âDoes it hurt?â
âIâm fine. Letâs eat,â Madelyn said.
Zach put a piece of chicken on her plate, and the way they interacted with each other looked exactly like a married couple. âItâs been three days. I need an answer.â
âI can stay, but you canât touch me,â Madelyn replied.
Zach reacted as if he just heard a joke. âDo you know whatâs the most attractive part of you?
Itâs your body, Maddie! Thereâs nothing more tempting than that.â
Suddenly, Madelyn lost her appetite and found the food unappetizing, ââ¦You have a wife, and what youâre doing is unfair to her.â She took out the invitation card Yvonne gave her earlier as she spoke âShe wanted me to attend your wedding, and I agreed.
âIf you consider me as your little sister, then please stop doing things that would hurt her. Yvonne will become my sisterâinâlaw soon.â
Do you want me to marry her? Zach asked.
415 BONOS Would you even listen to me if I said no?â
Why not?â
Zach Jardin, how could you take marriage so lightly? Yvonne haa nnctificed so much time on you and this is how you treat her? Sheâs a human being too What youâre doing is not right at allâ
Zach held her face, seemingly unconcerned at all as he said, âI donât care about all that Maddie, you know me. No one can ever force me to do something I donât want to do Itâs just a ceremony, nothing to be concerned about.â
âZach, youâre heartless. Youâre going to spend the rest of your life by yourselfâ Madelyn got so angry that she slammed her fork on the table.
To Madelyn, Zachâs action was no different from what an animal would do.
She stood up, not wanting to look at him anymore.
Zach grabbed her wrist, and with a pull, Madelyn fell onto his lap. âLet go of me!â Madelyn yelled.
Zach held her wrist with one hand and touched the scratched marks with the other. âI bought a house around my company. Itâs a lot nearer than here and will make things easier for us. Iâll bring you there tonight.â
Zach did not tell her that he had bought it five years ago, and nearly spent all of his savings. He had not been earning a lot back then and had barely managed to gather enough money for the downpayment of a unit in the city center.
âWeâll go buy furniture after eating â
âNo!â Madelyn resisted.
âI wonât take no for an answer.â
âZach, have you thought about how others will see me? Youâre already engaged to Yvonne and youâre even going to marry her soon. Even without Yvonne, you should know that nothing you do can make up for everything youâve done. Iâll never be with you again.
Iâd rather you be the old Zach who used to be ruthless toward, rather than the way you are now! What youâre doing is wrong!â
Then tell me what is right and what is wrong?â Zach asked.
