The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning
The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 691 But Yvonne was okay with it. In a short while, she and Zach would be getting their marriage certificate at the Clerk of Courtâs office. She believed that after today, she would be Mrs. Jardin officially; the one and only wife of Zach, and nobody could challenge her status.
Everybody had their own self-centered side, and Yvonne was no different. She wasnât willing to put up with their relationship for long. Once she and Zach got married, she secretly planned to send Madelyn overseas.
Yvonne sidled up to Madelyn, lowering her voice to say, âEthan never really planned on marrying Donna, you know.
âHeâd made up his mind before you left. If you werenât okay with the kid, he was going to give the child back to Donna and ask her to move out of the Arnold residence. Heâd find someone else to raise the child,â Yvonne confided quietly.
She continued, âRemember that news about Ethan getting married two years ago? All a sham. He did the interview to put on a show because Donna was threatening the childâs life. And hereâs something I havenât told you yet: Donna died in that accident two years ago.â
âWhen Ethan went to Roshya to find you, Donna tagged along. They got into an argument while driving, and they crashed the car.â Yvonne then revealed, âEthanâs alive, but heâs in a coma at the hospital.â
Hearing this, Madelyn felt her heart lurch. âWhat are you talking about?â she asked. Yvonne said apologetically, âIâm sorry. I told you Ethan was okay because Zach was there, and no one can challenge Zach right now. Heâs suppressed all information about the Arnold family and warned the media not to cover any Arnold family news.
âThe Arnolds didnât make it through the last financial crisis. Theyâve liquidated shares and sold off a lot of assets. All they have left is their family home.â
Madelyn felt dizzy and nearly collapsed, but Yvonne steadied her just in time.
âHow can this be?â Madelyn choked out, staring at Yvonne. Yvonne replied, âWhen Ethan was taken to the hospital, the doctors said his legs were already in bad shape. After this crash, they said even if he wakes up, heâll probably be paralyzed from the waist down. Heâll spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair.â
Madelyn couldnât believe what she was hearing; Ethan had been perfectly fine when he was in France.
âIâm telling you this because I know you still care about Ethan,â Yvonne implored. âCould you visit him?
Maybe your presence will help him wake up.
She went on, âYou gave him a reason to live once before. You saved him from his darkest moments.
You can do it again.â Tears clogged Madelynâs throat as she tried to speak. âWhere is he?â she finally managed to ask.
âHeâs at SereneCare Hospital. My momâs with him. Sheâd be thrilled if you came,â Yvonne answered.
âAs for Zach, donât worry. Iâll handle the distraction. Even the bodyguards work for me. Weâre going to apply for a marriage license shortly; you can use that opportunity to slip away.â
Just then, the door swung open. Zach and Kelvin entered the room. Zachâs icy gaze swept over Madelyn, almost as if she werenât there at all.
He hadnât yet picked up on Madelynâs distressed state. Seizing the opportunity, Yvonne walked over to Zach, grinning as she looped her arm through his. âOnce weâve got our marriage license, my momâs planned a little celebration for us. She even found a bottle of vintage wine to toast our new life together,â she said.
