Chapter 733
The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning
The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 733 A bodyguard walked in, holding a food container. Seeing it, Madelyn felt uneasy. âMr. Jardin,â the bodyguard said, âwe found this in Ethanâs room.â
Zach glanced at the bodyguard and smirked, âOh? Whatâs in there?â
âItâs pumpkin cream soup,â the bodyguard replied, opening the container to reveal it was half empty.
Madelyn felt nervous.
Zachâs voice chilled. âWho helped her deliver this to Ethan?â
âIt was Ms. Jentâs maid.â Zach responded quickly, âBreak her hand. Make Ethan throw up whatever he ate. From now on, he gets no more food without my approval.â
Giovanna paled. âMs. Jent told me to do it. It wasnât my idea,â she stammered. â
I have a family to feed. I swear it wonât happen again.â Tears welled in her eyes as she pleaded with Zach.
She then turned her gaze to Madelyn. â Please, help me.â
Madelyn stepped forward. âZach, it was my call. Donât take it out on her. Ethan barely woke locked him up, and youâve already away. He-â
âUpset about it?â Zach cut in, his voice dripping with jealousy.
Madelyn felt the coldness from Zach. Youâve got it all wrong. Heâs in this situation because of me. I couldnât just watch him die,â Madelyn said, looking away. âI was the one who made the cream soup and had Giovanna deliver it. If youâre thinking of hurting someone, target me, not the innocent ones. If anything bad happens to Ethan, Iâll never forgive you.â
She looked at Zach, trying to get through to him with her words, but she quickly realized the futility of her efforts. Zach was the type who would rather destroy something than allow anyone else to have it.
Threats had no effect on him.
âThink you can stand up to me? Remember, you owe everything to me. If I kill him, what are you going to do about it?â
Swiftly, Zach took Dalton from Madelynâs arms and handed Dalton to a bodyguard. He then led her to a garden, a space that had replaced the mansion where Ethan used to live. The soil was still damp from a recent downpour.
As they walked, Madelyn tripped, scraping her hand against the ground and drawing blood. Zach hoisted her back up, his face betraying no emotion. âThis should give you an idea of what Iâm capable of doing to Ethan.â
The sharp pain in her hand made her focus. âFine, if he dies, Iâll go with him. Itâs only fair â a life for a life!â Madelyn felt she had nothing more to lose.
She thought to herself, âZach probably wonât even miss me. If Iâm gone, maybe heâll finally leave everyone else alone. Iâm exhausted with this life anywayâ¦â
Madelynâs words enraged Zach even further. âIf you even think about dying, â he warned, âIâll ensure the entire Arnold family goes down with you.â
