The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning
The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 744 The butler knocked on Fridaâs door. â Maâam, itâs urgent. You need to see this. Frida followed the butler outside. As she laid eyes on the person in the casket, a storm of anger welled up inside her. âZach Jardin, you bastard! How could you?â
The casket holding Evelyn went without refrigeration, letting out an unbearable stench within hours.
Nearby, Marta, dressed in black, had a pronounced wound on her forehead. It was difficult to discern if she was dead or alive. Frida spoke with resolve, âSee if sheâs breathing.â
The butler hesitated just for a second before leaning in to check Martaâs breath. Registering the reality, he muttered in disbelief, âSheâs gone. Maâam, theyâre both gone.â
Noticing the blood near the casket, Frida deduced there had been some kind of impact. âGet in touch with the funeral home. Make sure they deal with this discreetly. Let them know itâs at the request of the CEO of Jardin Corporation.â
âRight away, Maâam.â
As she stood there, Frida thought, â Zach is going to pay for this. Heâs even more heartless than I ever imagined.â The sun began to rise. Madelyn stirred on the bed in Zachâs embrace. Next to her, Dalton began to cry.
âZach, Dalâs hungry. Can you make some formula?â Madelyn asked, her voice sleepy and teasing.
Zach placed a hand over his eyes, taking a deep breath. He peeked at Madelyn lying beside him.
Seeing her exposed shoulder, he covered her with the blanket. With a stern expression, he then slipped into his pajamas, picked up Dalton, and exited the room. Relishing the quiet, Madelyn hugged her pillow, relaxed, and soon drifted back to sleep.
As Zach left the room, he nearly collided with Margaret, who was on her way up with a bottle. âSir, breakfast is ready. Are you and Ms. Jent coming down?â
Without a word, Zach handed her Dalton and closed the door a bit forcefully. Daltonâs incessant crying, amplified every half hour, was wearing him thin.
Margaret sighed, looking at the closed door. âHeâs definitely overwhelmed,â she murmured, soothing Dalton on her way downstairs.
After their intimate moment, Zach and Madelyn, exhausted, simply adjusted and fell into a deep sleep.
They made out until almost six in the morning. By eight, Dalton began crying for his meal. Madelyn felt drained and weak. They both managed to sleep straight through to one oâclock in the afternoon.
Waking up with a sore back, Madelyn slowly made her way downstairs.
âYouâre up, Ms. Jent,â Margaret said, sounding somewhat relieved.
