Chapter 820
The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning
Lana was startled when she heard Kai talking in his sleep. She saw him stretch his hand as if to grab something. Lana stood at the side quietly as she watched him. She had never seen him in such a vulnerable state before. Her eyes were filled with an indiscernible emotion.
It seemed like Lana had an inner conflict. She could not help but clench her fists on both sides of her body. In the end, she heartlessly prepared to leave.
Just as she turned around, Lanaâs thin wrist was suddenly grabbed by a strong force. With a pull, she fell into Kaiâs embrace.
When he felt the weight on his body, he opened his eyes and saw the panicked Lana. He quickly hid the coldness in his eyes and playfully raised his almond-shaped eyes, âWhat were you trying to do while I was asleep?â
âDonât talk nonsense. I didnât do anything. Let go of me.â Lana tried to get up from him. But her waist was then grabbed by his hand. She could not move.
âYou threw yourself into my arms, and you want to run away now? Huh?â Kai extended his hand under her shirt.
Lana hissed in pain.
âWhatâs wrong?â Kai sensed something was not right when he saw her frown.
Kai lifted her shirt. But Lana was afraid of letting him know about something, so she quickly pulled her shirt down. She then freed herself from his grasp and stood up immediately, âIâve placed the food you asked for on the table. If thereâs nothing important, donât contact me again.â
Kai took a few steps forward to block her way. He then pressed her against the wall, âLet me take a look before you go.â
Lana responded, âDonât touch me! Let me go!â
Kai then made her lean against the office door with his hand, âJust for a moment.â
Lana said, âIâm begging you. Please donât do this.â
âDid he hurt you?â Kai saw the area around her waist that seemed to have been scalded by boiling water. There was also a bruise.
Lana forcefully pushed him away, âThatâs enough!
âYouâve already achieved your goal of sleeping with me, havenât you? Stop meddling in my affairs. Itâs none of your business.â
Kai took a deep breath. He looked somewhat troubled, âYour wound needs treatment.â He then raised his eyes and saw the panic and unease in hers.
The next moment, Kai bent down and carried her horizontally into the resting room inside his office. He then put her down on the bed in a sitting position.
She wanted to escape, but Kai held her down, âYour wound has already been infected. Once Iâm done applying the medication to your wound, Iâll let you go.â
Upon hearing that, Lana indeed became quiet. She knew that unless she followed his instructions, he would not allow her to leave.
Kai grabbed a spare medical kit from the cabinet and took out the burn ointment. He said, âLie down.â
Lana did not move.
Kai said, âIf you want him to recover as soon as possible, you better listen to me.â
âSo, his operationâ¦â Lanaâs eyes seemed to light up as she grabbed his hand.
âBring him here to the hospital tomorrow,â Kai replied with his head low. He was carefully applying ointment to her wound, âDoes it hurt?â
Lana did not even hear what he said clearly. She just said, âWhat do I need to prepare when I bring Andrew here tomorrow?â
Kai responded, âHis medical records. The hospital needs to analyze his medical records to plan his treatment. But I canât guarantee that heâll recover completely.â
âIs there anything else?â Lana noted the key points he mentioned.
âAndâ¦â Kai gently applied the muscle rub to her bruise, âStop accommodating him. Stay away if he hits you. You donât owe hi anything anymoreâ¦
âAndrew isnât as great as you think.â
