Chapter 886
The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning
The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning by Max Charming Chapter 886 Mya got a bit scared when she saw Fred looking all serious. She tried to act like she didnât hear him, hoping he would drop the whole thing if she stayed quiet. But Fred wasnât planning to let her off easy.
Curled up in the corner, Mya looked a bit silly. Fred lifted her shirt and saw the soft parts spilling over her pants. Heâd seen different kinds of people before, some thin and some with curves, but Mya was a bit plumper than the others.
âYour family feeds you well, huh?â Fred remarked, eyeing her figure. Mya showed no signs of illness.
Mya proudly puffed out her chest. âOf course! I have like five servings of Mediterranean rice every day.
These curves are all thanks to the amazing cooking at Madelynâs house. Too bad Madelynâs husband, the big jerk, doesnât let me eat there anymore. He says I eat too much.â
Fred could not believe how oblivious Mya was. She didnât catch the hint about her weight or the subtle digs at her smarts. At first, he thought she might have some secret agenda in getting close to him.
However, as he got to know her better, Fred figured out that Mya was truly naive and dim- witted.
Fredâs deputy interrupted, âSir, rush hour is starting. We might hit some traffic.â
âIs your stomach still hurting?â Fred asked Mya, his brows knitting together. Feeling the shift in Fredâs mood, Mya swiftly hid her smile and retreated a bit.
âIâm fine now. Could you drop me home?â Mya said timidly, looking down and fiddling with her index finger.
âWhy the hurry?â asked Fred.
âI got yelled at by my mom for getting home late last time. I gotta make it before it gets dark,â Mya explained, holding her belly as a twinge of pain zipped through. She toughed it out without letting it show.
âDid you take pill last time?â Fred asked, referring to contraception.
âYes, I did,â Mya nodded. Since Myaâs family got lucky with money, she started taking pills to boost her brainpower.â She knew she wasnât the smartest cookie around, so if a pill could help, she was all for taking it every day.
âSir, should we proceed to the hospital? âFredâs deputy inquired.
âLetâs go to The Deli instead,â Fred decided, noting that she seemed alright.
âYes, Sir.â
Mya protested immediately, âI donât want to go to The Deli. I want to go home.â
âArenât you hungry?â Fred asked. âIâm hungry. Iâd left the house an hour ago and only ate an ice cream cone and a glass of milk. That is all.â Mya thought to herself.
Mya dug through her purse and found only fifty dollars remaining. She said, â Iâll have to eat less today;
I only have fifty bucks left. My mom took away my allowance as punishment.â
âIs that all you have?â Fred reached into the inside pocket of his coat, pulled out a leather wallet, and handed Mya a wad of cash. âTake this. If itâs not enough, let me know.â
Startled, Mya immediately refused, âI canât accept that. We agreed that Iâd treat you this time, and I have just enough to order a few dishes. I can eat less.â
âSo, if itâs not money youâre after, what is it?â Fredâs voice turned icy.
Mya held her belly as she felt another twinge of pain. She thought, âWhy has he become so intimidating all of a sudden? Talking to him feels like walking on eggshells!â
