Chapter 909
The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning
\Chapter 909 Zach looked at the reporterâs badge and saw the big letters that spelled âIntern.â âWhy is the entertainment news outlet sending interns to Jardin Corporationâs press events?â he asked.
The reporter did not look scared of Zach one bit. She said, âMr. Jardin, donât interns have the same right to be here? Or are you just mad about my question and trying to scare me in front of everyone?â
The PR manager of Jardin Corporation got up fast, âSo sorry, Mr. Jardin. Sheâs probably a new intern and doesnât get the rules yet. Iâll take her out right now.â
The bodyguard was ready to move, but Zach stopped him with a hand, âIâm sure that all the top executives at Jardin Corporation do their jobs right.â He then turned to face the reporter who was taking on the company by herself. âWould you have the courage to publish it if I tell you?â
The reporter stood tall and said with sureness, âOf course I will. Reporters are supposed to write the truth, to share what theyâve found so everyone can know the real story.â
Kevin gave her a serious look, trying to tell her to back off. But it seemed like she wanted to keep going. Zachâs smile was small and icy, âYeah, she and I have a kid. But Iâm not here to talk about my private life. I donât want our story to bother her or get people mixed up in our business that doesnât belong there.â
Cecilia sat on the stage with a frown, feeling jealous. Her hand was in a fist so tight it started to hurt.
She thought, âSo, heâs really going through with it.â
âListen up, everyone,â Zach said to the crowd. âThe deal that tied our companies together was about the cash, not the heart. It was going to end at some point. And Jardin Corporation stands strong on its own.â He quickly checked his watch, showing he did not have much time. âWeâve decided to give YTCorp a small part of our company, just 1% of the shares, to make things right.â
The crowd reacted with surprise, â1%? Even 0.1% of Jardin Corporationâs shares are worth hundreds of millions.â
The same reporter stepped up with a question, âItâs well-known that YTCorp was a big part of Jardin Corporationâs success. And now, after all that success, it looks like youâre parting ways with them. Mr. Jardin, some might say thatâs pretty ungrateful. Whatâs your response?â
The people in the room murmured among themselves, impressed with the reporterâs nerve. âWow, Zach laughed, but there was no warmth in it. He looked sharply at the people around him, âIn business, a loveless marriage is just a trade. But sheâs different; sheâll always be the one and only Mrs. Jardin.â
Cecilia stood up, unable to stay quiet, âEnough, Zach. Youâre the CEO of Jardin Corporation, and what you say can shake up our stocks. Think before you speak.â She faced the crowd, her voice full of apology, âIâm sorry, everyone. Zachâs not himself right now. He drank more than he should have.â
