Chapter 930
The Rewritten Love: A Second Beginning
Myaâs escape from the fifteenth floor of the hospital had not gone unnoticed. Someone had snapped pictures and videos of her escape and circulated them online swiftly.
Since the launch of Jardin Corporationâs social media platform, which had been promoted alongside the development of Al chips, keypad phones had become obsolete. The introduction of new smartphones marked the dawn of a new technological era.
Finishing his last meeting, Zach headed to SereneCare hospital.
In the ward, Kai was meticulously stitching up Madelynâs finger wound, applying medicine with precision. He said, âYou know, you could be a bit more careful. Hurting yourself like this is senseless. It pains him to see you in pain and ultimately, youâre the one who suffers.â
Madelyn remained expressionless, silent.
After Kai finished bandaging Madelynâs finger, Lana entered and announced, âKai, dinnerâs ready.â
Madelyn withdrew her hand.
As Kai stood and stowed the medicine in the cabinet for Madelyn, he remarked, âLetâs go, her cooking is quite good.â
After Lana left, Madelynâs gaze filled with scrutiny followed Kai. Madelyn asked, âIs the child yours?â
Madelyn noticed Kaiâs body stiffening for a moment. She smirked. âYouâre just like him, always taking things that donât belong to you. What youâre doing will only harm her. Youâre as despicable as he is.â
Just then, Zachâs voice neared from outside the ward. âWho upset you?â he asked as he entered, meeting Madelynâs icy stare.
Kai closed the drawer and left the room, giving them privacy.
Approaching Madelyn, Zach handed her something and said, âThe old phones are obsolete now. This is the new smartphone developed by our company, pretty similar to the one you used before. You should find it familiar. I had a pink one made just for you. Try it and see if you like it.â
âDo we already have smartphonés now? We should still be years away from these.â Madelyn thought.
âZach, Cecilia has helped you so much in the business world. You both have a knack for it, like a match made in heaven. Marrying her wouldâve been the best choice for you. Marrying me is like placing a useless ornament at home. Even if⦠we got married⦠youâd grow bored of seeing the same face every day,â said Madelyn.
Lana heard the commotion from the kitchen. She looked at Kai beside her and asked, âAre Madelyn and Zach arguing again? Should we intervene?â
Every time Zach came, it seemed Madelyn would quarrel with him. It may be common to married couples, but from Lanaâs perspective, they did not seem like a married couple at all, more like enemies.
Kai covered Lanaâs ears and said, âLetâs not eavesdrop. Theyâll sort it out. Weâll leave the dinner to them. Iâll take you out, so you donât have to be upset by his presence.â
Lana smiled softly. She said, âItâs alright, I donât mind. We live off your earnings, and I canât contribute much. Itâs better to save money for the future.â
Kai touched Lanaâs face tenderly and said, âThatâs why youâre a considerate wife. Donât worry. You couldnât spend all my money even if you ate ten meals every day.â
Kai had his own medical patents, and his account had more than enough money to last them several lifetimes.
On the other hand, Zach titled his head and ignored Madelynâs rant. His gaze softened as he unboxed the phone and handed her the sleek pink device. He said, âThis color really suits you. Iâve downloaded lots of apps for you, all the information about drawing and design you might need, and the books in e-
book format you usually read. So now you donât have to go looking for books whenever you want to read something.â
