Chapter 27

"Your back beneath the sun..." (27)

Blue Moon (gxg)

"It's a surprise... stop asking..." Bella giggled as we walked through the resort.

It must have been the third time I asked her what surprise she had planned this time but she is not giving up...

"Come on, just tell me..." I pouted at her.

She rolled her eyes, giggling again:

"If I tell you, Ellie... it will no longer be surprise. Be patient, we are almost here..." She raised an eyebrow and pointed her eyes toward the exit gate of the resort.

I squeezed her hand tightly as I smiled.

"This is like the third surprise you did for me..." I pointed out.

She winked: "Yeah, who's counting, anyway?"

I turned around but the only thing I saw was a parked car right in front of the resort.

I didn't pay much attention to it, so I waited for her to give me some real hint.

Bella for some reason stopped right in front of that car.

Now I gave it a little more attention... it was small white, very shiny convertible.

"So?" She asked me, raising an eyebrow mischievously.

"So, what?" I laughed at her.

Bella lifted her chin slightly pointing to the car in front of: "Do you like it?" She smiled.

"What do you mean?"

"I reserved this car for a couple of hours..." She announced me, then opened the door on the passenger side.

I remained stunned by that announcement.

I felt my stomach twist with happiness.

I grabbed her wrist to stop whatever she was doing to hug her.

I hugged her so tightly that we both almost fell to the ground, we both laughed about it.

"I don't know how to thank you anymore... you really are..." I stared at her still unable to find the right words.

Bella smiled warmly: "For a car ride? Come on, Ellie, get in, let's drive."

I squeezed her hand: "It is really important for me." I whispered, smiling.

"It's important for me too." She kissed my cheek and opened the door's car for me.

Bella went to the driver's side.

She turned the keys and started the car.

I was feeling like a little girl getting into a car for the first time.

Everything felt new to me.

Everything felt so different to me; it tasted different.

"When did you have time to reserve it, by the way?" I asked her as I stared stunning at that car.

Bella laughed: "Last night... let's say after midnight..."

The road was clear in front of us, so she pressed on the accelerator and I felt a strong rush of adrelin and a strong sense of freedom in my body.

I turned up the volume of the radio, "August" by Taylor Swift was playing from the car speakers.

I don't know why but I focused on the way Bella was driving.

She was very sensual.

She just looked like a model in a car commercial, yet, as always, she made it look as natural as possible.

Bella was singing to that song.

... her long red hair in the wind.

...her arms, her breast, the way her fingers ticked on the steering wheel following the rhythm of the music.

"Give me your hand." Bella affirmed.

"You're driving..."

Her eyes still focused on the road as she spoke: "Not touching you is distracting me. Do you want me to get distracted while driving?"

She definitely know how to tease.

I immediately put a hand on her bare leg: "Not ever..."

We felt the need to touch each other, so we kept finding that silly excuses just to touch each other again.

Anything to feel a thrill again.

At one point I looked enchanted over the horizon in front of us:

"Bella... look at that beach over there..." I pointed her to a patch of beach in the distance.

I don't know why but in that place the sand was golden yellow and the sea was the color of cobalt.

She made a satisfied smile: "...And there's exactly where we should stop..." She commented.

~

"Shit... it's really beautiful." Bella affirmed.

"Never seen that color blue..." I commented the color of the sea.

There were very few people despite the fact that it was the Fourth of July, probably because it was a fairly isolated place.

When we reached the beach, Bella began to undress herself, then turned to me mischievously.

"LAST ONE TO GET IN THE SEA GIVES THE OTHER A MASSAGE!" She exclaimed and dropped her top on the sand.

"What?!" I asked in confusion when she was already running playfully toward the sea.

I removed my clothes as fast as I could, trying to reach her, but she arrived in the water at least five seconds before me.

Curse her very long legs.

Bella burst out laughing, raising her hands in the air as a sign of victory.

"THAT'S NOT FAIR! BELLA, YOU CHEATED!" I exclaimed laughing and threw a swirl of water into her face.

She would not stop laughing.

"Well, Ellie..." She kept giggling.

"It's not my fault if you happen to be very much slower than me..." Her tone of voice amused.

I faked a grumpy face: "Much slower than what?! You're gonna pay for this..."

"Who's gonna pay for what?!"

She stood up silently and from her mischievous smile I guessed she had a whole plan in her mind, so I ran off laughing to the opposite side as she began to chase me.

But I had no hope, she was really faster than me...

Eventually I gave up, Bella grabbed gently my waist and we both fell into the sea.

In those 10 minutes we had not stopped laughing for a moment.

I was out of breath and the more I tried to catch my breath the more I laughed.

"Are you okay? Did I hurt you?" She asked worriedly when she noticed that I was twitching myself.

"No..." I whispered.

"My stomach hurts from laughing..." I explained her, breathing a sigh of relief.

Was this what happiness was?

It had been too long since I had felt this kind of warmth inside me.

Bella made me stop laughing by kissing me.

I very much liked this interruption.

Our bodies floated closer gracefully in the calm sea.

Her arms on my waist, mine entwined on her shoulders, as we slowly pulled away from the shore.

Our kisses became salty because of the sea water touching our lips, but I just felt them sweeter and softer than ever.

"Do I still need to pay for that?" Bella whispered not hiding at all her blissful smile.

I blushed, as my lips won't stop smiling as well: "I'm still thinking about it..."

I could not quantify how long we stayed in there, I got lost in that moment as the sea kept rocking us through its waves.

~

Bella gave me a gentle tap on the shoulder as we walked back to beach.

"I remind you that you lost the bet, Ellie..." She whispered with a satisfied smile.

"You mean the one you made me lose on purpose..." I pointed out.

She shrugged her shoulders innocently: "That's not true... regardless of that... a bet is a bet."

I sighed, pretending to be offended: "You will get your massage... despite the fact that you blatantly cheated." I covered the sun with the fingers of my hands to observe the smug expression now on her face.

Bella rolled her eyes and laughed: "Whatever you say..."

I rested my elbows on the beach towel, as I lowered my sunglasses to watch Bella  lying on her stomach.

I suddenly blushed seeing her bare back.

I coughed awkwardly, not knowing where to start or where to put my hands first.

"I have no lotion..." I pointed out.

A very stupid excuse.

Bella smiled: "Use the sunscreen." And she pointed to her bag.

I had never given someone a massage in my life, but when I stopped to stare at her back I was enlightened like a painter that sees a perfect blank canvas on which he can draw.

"Okey..." I stammered. "But I've never done that before..." I tried to justify myself.

"Wait..." Bella whispered softly.

"I was joking, if you don't feel like..."

I huffed playfully at her and to let her know that that situation was not at all unpleasant for me... I began to smear the cream on my hands, then rested them shakily on her shoulders.

Bella smiled.

Her dark orange bikini with a thin gold chain, glittered in the sun.

It perfectly matched her candid skin and was very elegant... like everything she wore.

I did place my shaking palms on her shoulders, feeling her tense under the pressure.

I squeezed lightly, easing some of the tension in her shoulder blades.

With my wrist I gently moved her red hair that had fallen down her back and continued with that gentle pressure.

I can tell she secretly enjoys my rub by the way she leaned softly into my touch.

Her body had become the blank canvas of my thoughts.

I slowly leaned toward her profile.

I wanted to look at her: her eyes were closed, her expression was peaceful, and she was breathing harmoniously.

"Is this okay?" I dared to speak.

"Fine." She mumbled with a smile.

I began to fantasized- to go further with my thoughts.

I found myself chasing a drop of water that was slowly descending the center of her back, through her hip, and dissolved in the sand.

In that instant I sensed that our breathing had increased in intensity.

Oh my god.

I swallowed awkwardly.

When I reached, her lower back, across her slim waist and hips, I suddenly stopped myself.

Bella has back dimples...

Something that I didn't think created in me some inner torment as I ran my hand over that area.

I like everything about her.

I realized I was attracted to every part of her body and mind.

I can't do this anymore...

When my fantasies had reached far beyond my expectations, I forced myself to stop.

Bella reopened her eyes slowly, I smiled shyly at her.

I turned back to the sea, with that strange torment hitting my chest.

I could no longer fight what I was feeling.

This is terrifying me...

"So... that was good, Ellie..." Bella whispered as she sat next to me.

"Very good..." She looked at me with a satisfied smile.

I nodded awkwardly, my face had probably turned red, and not because of that hot sun above us.

Bella placed a kiss on my shoulder, which made me shiver, but I was still too embarrassed or whatever that was to be able to look her in the eyes.

I lay down, on the stomach, sighing slowly into the air.

Bella followed me immediately as she wrapped her arm around mine.

She looked straight into my eyes with a strange expression.

She began to tickle my back, still too soft to make me laugh, but enough to make me feel something.

I lost my breath.

Bella smiled, she swallowed as she looked carefully over my body:

"Your back beneath the sun..." She whispered, her expression concealed a strange smile.

She was singing to that song.

That song again... the one we listened to in the car...

"August"

I stood still, helplessly, not knowing how to act, because I was still mesmerized by her gestures.

"Wishin' I could write my name on it..." She continued the song, then proceeded to pass a finger on my back.

I got chills.

I was unable to speak or to move.

Okay... now she is writing with her finger.

Took me one second to realize she was actually writing HER name in the center of my bare back.

I got chills with every letter she is writing.

And how she did that gently but firmly.

Oh... how I wished her name not to be composed by 5 letters only, so she can write more of them on my back.

My body is shaking.

When she finished she looked straight into my eyes with a confident, sweet smile.

I wonder how she does that... because I was sweating...

"Huh?" Bella asked me, bitting her lips to hide her pleased smile... like nothing had just happened.

My throat was dry, my heart runs wild.

"You're silly..." I mumbled.

Bella smiled blissfully as she pressed her shoulder against mine.

"Excuse me?" She laughed playfully.

"Come here..." She whispered, helping me getting closer to her body.

I wrapped my arms around her hip, Bella kept stroking my hair gently as I leaned on her shoulder.

She moved a little, leading me to lay on her chest.

"Is this okay?" She sighed, rubbing my arm.

I nodded.

Our tormented sighs rose into the air.

As we held each other, I can feel the irregular beat of her heart and of the waves of the sea in the distance.
