Chapter 63

GAME OVER (63)

Blue Moon (gxg)

"Well, well," Bella said in a mocking tone.

"Look who's here..."

Clearly, Joe didn't see that coming—he just stood there looking like a total idiot.

He was red with anger and alcohol.

"You bitch! You're still fucking here!" he seethed, stepping closer to Bella, who mirrored him.

"Excuse me?!"

I blurted out from behind her.

I was getting closer and closer to his stupid face, but Bella stepped in, blocking my way with her arm.

"You better take that back." I demanded.

"Fuck no, Ellie... you don't get it, kid..." he was using that tone he always did when he wanted to manipulate.

"Don't call me kid." I hissed. "And no, you're the one who doesn't get it! It's over!" I snapped.

His eyes narrow in disbelief and anger.

"You don't mean that. You're not thinking straight, Ellie. She's filling your head with—"

"Shut up. This is me thinking clearly for the first time in years," I cut him off.

My heart was racing, but I held his gaze firmly.

"I'm fucking done with you."

I tried to step back but I guess he wasn't done yet...

"Doesn't she tell you about the photo?!" He sneered. "Don't risk it, Ellie, or you might not like the outcome..."

He's really getting on my nerves now.

Again, I attempted to step closer to him, but Bella squeezed my wrist, her fingers intertwining with mine, grounding me.

"You don't have anything I'm afraid of. Nothing at all. So stop threatening me."

"You really want to stay with her?! You're that desperate?" he demanded, his voice full of anger and defiance.

"Yes, moron, I do. I love her. It's something that you'll never understand."

"What exactly?!"

"You don't know what love is because you're incapable of loving or being loved. I'm really sorry for you."

Joe stayed silent, his face still red, his veins pulsing with anger.

"Get out of my room." I said firmly.

"You're nothing but a bitch too," he snapped at me.

"You're nothing but an asshole." Bella replied immediately.

Her stance shifting as if she were ready to pounce, but I blocked her path.

"Get out, Joe, it's over." I tried to keep it together.

He smirked, and suddenly his eyes shifted to Bella, like he had something to say that would make her lose it.

"Doesn't matter who the hell you fuck, Ellie—go ahead, get off! You'll enjoy it, either way!"

I saw Bella punch him before I even realized it.

It was hard enough to make Joe stumble back and fall on his hip.

I was in disbelief.

Man... that was badass...

I was still impressed, but I grabbed her hand to make sure she was okay.

Her knuckles were a bit red and slightly scratched, but she looked at me and smirked, her expression fully satisfied.

"You're pathetic," Joe sneered at her.

He wiped his cheek with a cruel grin.

"Still talking?" she smirked.

"I figured you'd be too busy licking your wounds by now..."

Joe's smile vanished, replaced by a look of pure hatred.

"Fuck you, Bella. I'll make sure you wish you'd never met me."

"Idiot, why don't you take it out on me again since I was the one who left you?!" I snapped.

"Fine, Ellie," he muttered under his teeth. "If you want me to..." he sneered.

Another threat.

Bella's grip on me tightened in a rush of anger and fear, like she was trying to calm me down or prevent herself from doing something reckless.

A second later the door suddenly slammed open—

Leo stormed in.

"Hey! Finally! What's going on?!" He looked at us.

"Dude..." he laughed, seeing Joe still half lying on the ground.

"You okay?" I whispered in Bella's ear.

"Never felt better," she replied strongly.

Joe got back on his feet, and you could tell he was pretty embarrassed about a woman beating his ass...

"It's better for you if you just leave now," Leo urged him.

"Man, are you fucking serious?! Are you on their side now?!" Joe burst out.

"Yes, asshole, looks like you're alone now," Bella snapped at him.

"It's over, man, make peace with it." Leo added.

But, apparently, Joe still wasn't getting the hint... he walked toward me with a menacing glare.

Bella stepped in, rolling her eyes with a pissed-off expression.

"It's not fucking over," he smirked, pulling his phone out.

"I still have the photo, and I'll fucking use it."

Before he could spin around, Bella managed to grab it from his hand while I pushed him away.

He cursed and tried to charge at us, but Leo stepped in, forcing him to step back and making him fall to the ground again.

Second time on the ground...

"What are we gonna do with it?" I whispered in Bella's ear.

She squeezed my hand and led me to the balcony, where... she threw Joe's phone over the railing... down a four-story drop...

"So hot..." I muttered in disbelief.

"So damn satisfying..." She smirked.

"You fucking bitch!" Joe shouted.

"Ugh, Bella, hold me, please, or I'll fucking punch him too." I muttered.

"Calm down, tiger," she squeezed my hand, "watch this..." and winked.

We returned to the room, and I still had no idea what Bella was planning... I just wanted to knock him out again...

"I'm gonna report you, Joe," she said aloud, her eyes locking onto his.

"And for what?!" He snapped.

"You've been threatening me at work, pushing me to do illegal stuff, and that alone is illegal. It's called coercion, you idiot."

Ooh! My beautiful red-haired lawyer girl!

"And you know what?" She added, her tone firmy and sharp. "Talking to my coworkers, I found out you've done the same to them. You're totally fucked."

Oh God! Yes! I was so overwhelmed with happiness!

Joe's face turned pale, his confidence completely fading away.

He'd just realized he was so deep in shit.

My moment.

"Yes, I'm going to report you too," I said clearly.

He looked so dumbfounded, it was hilarious.

"You threatened to leak a photo of me and Bella kissing without our consent. You blackmailed us." I clarified.

Bella looked at me, a cheeky smile spreading across her face.

It felt like we had just nailed it.

Joe stayed there, sweating and shaking.

Pathetic.

Leo stepped forward.

"I'm done too, Joe. I'm leaving the society."

"What the hell, dude?! You can't be serious! It's our society!" He was totally terrified now.

"Not anymore. I'm dead serious. I won't be your yes-man anymore. You've treated me like crap for way too long."

"Game over, Joe. Looks like you have to say bye-bye to everything you ever owned," Bella said, more satisfied than ever.

Feeling trapped and completely screwed—he walked out without saying a word, slamming the door behind him.

Like he couldn't get away fast enough...

I finally threw myself into Bella's arms and squeezed her tightly with everything I had left. She pulled me closer, wrapping me up as her fingers ran through my hair.

"It's over, baby." She whispered.

I nodded on her shoulder, finally feeling so damn relieved.

All the shit we'd been through finally lifted.

"I'm sorry for not telling you he was coming here, I lost track of him," Leo smiled in our direction.

I felt like I might cry, so I hugged him too. Leo had been nothing but helpful and friendly, and we thanked him a million times.

After that, I remembered I still had something to take care of...

"Sit," I told Bella. Firmly.

"Nice right hook, by the way, Bella," Leo chuckled before leaving the room.

She giggled, all satisfied.

I walked over to the fridge bar, grabbed the coldest drink I could find, and knelt down, pressing it against her knuckles.

"Oh, no need for that, Ellie..." she said, pulling away and pretending to be annoyed.

She's totally acting all tough now.

"Stop, you stubborn head." I replied, pressing the drink against her knuckles.

She rolled her eyes.

"I can't believe you actually punched him..."

"I should've done it sooner." She smirked.

"That was hot. You're amazing." I couldn't help but smile.

"I'm glad it worked out like I planned..." she shrugged, satisfied.

I kissed her injured hand.

"We did it," I whispered, a tear running down my cheek as she gently wiped it away with her finger.

"Yes, we did." She kissed my lips, deliberately deepening it.

"We did it."
