Chapter 2
[ ✔ ] We're Not Friends ▪ Jenlisa
[ The crazy and confused ]
"Ugh, I am SO wrecked," Jennie moaned.
"That's what you get for drinking your troubles away," Rosé sing-songed. The red headed nerd was rifling through the other girl's fridge like she lived there and honestly, she may as well have.
Jennie was face down on her island, Aspirin in front of her and clutching a half empty glass of water.
"Can we skip school?" Jennie whined, her voice muffled from the cool marble.
"No Jennie, I WANT to go to a good college. Remember?"
"Oh yeah... the lowly little nerd, how could I forgot?"
"Be quiet you, now tell me where did you hid the bacon!"
Jennie and Rosé had known each other since Rosé moved in the house next to the cheerleader's parents in the summer before middle school. The brunette wasn't quite the bitch she was today and Rosé had eventually wriggled her way into her heart. They'd walk to school together, eat lunch together and would hangout all the time.
When high school came around and Jennie had made the cheerdance while Rosé had joined the brainiacs, the social heirarchy threatened their relationship but somehow they managed to persevere. Sure they didn't sit together at lunch anymore but they were at each other's houses to make up for it.
"I don't have any more damn bacon. You ate it all yesterday remember?"
"But Jennieee!" Rosé whined.
"I'll pick up some later."
"Ugh, fine..." the hot nerd groaned, grabbing a piece of toast. "Maybe we should just skip, I don't know how long I could last without bacon in my system."
"Okay one; that is NASTY Chaeng, and two; I just realized I can't. I have to do damage control with Jungkook."
"I don't understand why you're still with him if you don't even like him."
"Chaeng... I've told you a million times: Reputation." Rosé rolled her eyes.
"Whatever, Jen... now c'mon. We're gonna be late."
Jennie groaned loudly as Rosé pulled her out of the house.
Now, Jennie was alone walking the halls of Seoul High. Everyone so scared of her they didn't even dare to look at her much less speak with her. There was only a set amount of people that she talked to besides her family:
Rosé, Jungkook, Hyoyeon and some of the Cheer squad.
Then there were people that was stupid enough to provoke her, namely Lisa Manoban, Byun Baekhyun and...
"Hello, Jennie! I was wondering if you would consider my offer to join our school's very own Glee Club. As you know, we won our sectionals last year and this year we are--"
"LOOK you. For the last time, I don't want to join your gay leprechaun clan. I don't sing, and you don't talk to me." Fucking Yeri Kim always asking her to join the goddamn loser of a club.
"But I--"
"Fuck it, turtle shit. If you're not gone in the next two seconds, I guarantee that you will become a scattered rainbow." Yeri's eyes widened as Jennie glared at her.
"Now get the fuck out of my way."
Yeri hesitated for a second.
"Y'know you have wonderful talent. Maybe if you took the time to explore it instead of fret about social ladder of a dreary Seoul High School, you'd see that." Jennie was stunned. So much so that she gave Yeri a small window of opportunity to scurry off before she could unleash her wrath.
The brunette couldn't help but wonder... was she losing it? First Lisa, then freaking Yeri Kim. At least Lisa had some sort of reputation. Yeri was at the very bottom of the food chain.
Not to mention Jungkook. He was quickly becoming more difficult to maintain. This wasn't how it was supposed to be.
Shaking her head, she walked off to class. She needed her edge back or else she'd be at risk for a dethroning as Queen of this dump.
As soon as Yeri power walked away from the head cheerleader, she spotted her next target.
"Hello, Lisa! I was wondering if you would consider my offer to join our school's very own Glee--"
"Just stop it, Yeri." The blonde girl said waving her off.
Yeri pouted; at least Jennie let her start the second sentence. Yeri knew if she got at least one popular person to join, the rest would surely follow.
Lisa slammed her locker shut, "You're a sweet girl, Yeri, but I'm not joining your club."
"But I attended your dance competition last month and I have to say that--"
"WOAH... you saw my dance competition? You realized that was in Busan right? Are you like... stalking me or something?" No one knew about her dance classes and competitions.
People assumed that she was just an exceptional club dancer. And she was.
"No Lisa, I was also there for a dance competition. For ballet of course... although I admire your advanced work and choreography in both the Contemporary, Hiphop, and West Coast Swing categories. You would be perfect to dance behind me in Glee. Besides, we even have a suitable partner for you--"
"Lee Taeyong, I know. We talk sometimes... aand we slept together before he got it on with his cousin," Lisa said off-handedly.
"Wendy's not his cousin." But Lisa just stared at Yeri quizzically.
...
"Oh."
"Anyway. I REALLY think you should consider it."
"I'll tell you what, Yeri. You let me under that ridiculously short plaid skirt of yours and I'll join your club," Lisa said with a knowing smirk.
The effect was immediate as Yeri turned red as a tomato.
"Lisa I-- while I'm flattered... I'm-- I'm really saving IT for the perfect person."
"Oh, what a shame then..." the blonde sighed, actually a little disappointed. She hadn't been with a virgin in a while, "Well... I'll see you around."
Before Yeri could actually do anything, the rebel girl moved incredibly fast. Damn those legs! Hurriedly, Lisa went to her next period class.
As she doodled whilst not paying attention to anything her teacher said, a note was slipped in front of her. She looked up to see who had done it and the boy next to her pointed to a fairly hot girl who she may or may not have slept with before and was giving her the bedroom eyes. Smiling back, Lisa opened the note.
Yamamotos tonight at 7? :>
Lisa wrote down a single word before passing it back.
'Okay.'
[â¢â¢â¢]
Jungkook approached his girlfriend after class. He had a lot on his mind and was ready to voice his opinion out.
Just not here.
"Hey Jennie, I was wondering if you'd likd to go to Yamamotos with me tonight?" He said half hopeful. The quarterback player still wasn't sure if the decision he made was the right one.
"Sure, Kookie." Jennie said passively.
Jungkook sighed, it's like she didn't even care about him anymore. They were friends once, just friends that DIDN'T use each other to get on top and he had always had a crush on her but now...
"Look, Jungkook. I'm sorry about last night; I just had a little too much to drink okay? I promise I'll make it up to you." She said flirtatiously, running her hand down his arm.
Jungkook almost gave in. Almost.
"Jennie, this isn't just about sex for me!" He said, voice rising. Why did she always seem to think that? Sure, at the beginning of their 'Relationship' he acted like the horny teenage boy that he is, but that didn't mean he didn't care about her or like her.
"Okay, could you keep it down? People are staring," she said in a harsh demanding tone.
"Fine, whatever. I'll pick you up at 6:30."
"Okay, see you then."
Jungkook just nods, "You're not gonna at least kiss me goodbye?"
"Jungkook..." Jennie warns sternly, silently asking for him to just go with her glare.
Jennie watched as her boyfriend storm down the hall. What was his problem? Seriously, she already said she'd 'Take care of him.' What more did he want from her? She wished there was someone better she could replace him with. But no, she was stuck with Jeon Jungkook.
Her phone vibrated in her hand as she walked to her next class, AP Biology.
From Chae~: I heard something went down in the hallway between you and Jungkook.
To Chae~: That literally happened 2 seconds ago! WTFF. Hold on.
She stashed her phone in her bra as she walked in her classroom and took her seat next to Rosè.
"Okay HOW do you already know that?" The cheerleader demanded.
"Hoseok just updated his status on his blog," Rosé showed her her phone where it was opened to the blog. Title reading 'School's powerful couple spotted having a spat. Trouble in paradise?'
The JHS blog was like Seoul High's version of Gossip Girl where people will sent in tips and pictures of the 'Latest juicy gossip' heard in the hallowed halls.
"I'm going to kill that little rat."
"Okay, murdering for later. Tell me what happened!"
"Can't you just read it on his stupid blog?"
"Jen..."
"Okay okay..." Jennie rehashed the conversation in detail, Rosé nodding along as she spoke.
"It was no big deal, we're going out tonight." Jennie shrugged.
Rosé's eyebrows rose in that 'Are you fucking kidding me?' look that adorned her face, "What? Oh c'mon, don't give me 'the Chaeyoung look'."
"Jennie... I think you might be in trouble."
"What, why?"
Rosé hesitated, wondering if she should ease her friend into her obvious conclusion or just rip it off like a band-aid.
"I'm pretty sure he's going to break up with you," band-aid it is. Jennie looked at her shocked before laughing.
"Oh please, he would never! He needs me just as I need him.n
"Jen, I think you need to think about this rationally! Just look at all that has happened. From what you told me it's--"
"Chae stop, okay? I appreaciate the concern but Jungkook would never," Jennie said defiantly. Rosé gave her one last disapproving glare before sighing and looking away.
"Fine. But don't say I didn't warn you."
[â¢â¢â¢]
Lisa danced around to the music playing as she got ready for her date. She didn't want to look completely horrible but she wasn't trying to impress too much. Deciding on skinny jeans and a v-neck that made her breasts look amazing, she grabbed her wallet and headed out.
"Hey lithh..." A tiny voice said. The blonde whirled around with a smile on her face.
"Hey Nico, why are ya up?" She said scooping her sleepy brother up in her arms and walks towards his bedroom. Little Nico is six years old and the cutesy sweetest kid in the world.
"I... couldn't shhleep."
"Well, you sure look tired!" Lisa observed, wanting to get the real answer.
"Mkayy... wanthh... to see you 'fore you went noff on your date." He paused a little, annoyed by his stammerings. "You look leally pertty and I mish you, Lithha." Lisa's heart melted as she tucked the boy in.
"Aww, thanks kiddo. I miss you too, but school has been really tough on me lately. I promise we'll hang out tomorrow, okay?"
"Mmkay..." he said while yawning. Lisa kissed his forehead before standing back up.
"Bye, Niconiie. I love you..." she whispered as the door closed.
"I love you tchu!"
Lisa hurried out of the otherwise empty house and to her bike, driving off towards Yamamotos.
When she arrived, the girl was already seated and waves her over with a smirk before her eyes found something else.
She stopped dead in her tracks.
None other than Jennie Kim and Jeon Jungkook were seated in booth behind them so that when Lisa sat down, she would be back to back with the Cheerleader. Jungkook looked over to her before quickly looking away and Jennie turned to see what was he staring at. Her eyes widened.
"Lisa! Over here!" The girl yelled.
Lisa resumed her path and sat in the booth. She could practically feel the Korean's presence behind her.
They hadn't exchanged any hateful glares since the party, nor have any witty retorts been exchanged. Like they had some sort of a silent agreement.
The girl across from her started talking but Lisa couldn't help but eavesdrop on the slightly more interesting conversation going on behind her.
"Look Jennie... I'm sorry about the way I acted earlier. I was just angry because you obviously just think I only want sex from this relationship."
"It's okay, we knew from the start of this that we were just using each other." Lisa could only imagine the look on Jungkook's face right now.
"Wh--what?" The boy stuttered.
"Well yeah, I thought that's why we agreed to this-- you wanted satisfaction and I wanted a boost on my popularity."
"THAT'S why you said yes to me?"
"Well... yeah?"
"You know what, Jen? Maybe if you stopped thinking about your reputation you'd see that I actually like you!" Lisa's eyes widened in shock, matching Jennie's expression. Jennie had no idea that Jungkook actually liked her.
She didn't think anyone could.
"But you know what? If that is how you really feel then I don't think I can be part of this 'Agreement' any longer. I'm out!"
"What? No! You can't be. I need you!" Jennie never pleaded to anyone before and this was close as she was going to get.
"Yeah, well I don't need you. I can't believe I ever fell for you," Jungkook said darkly.
Jennie looked around in desperation, only to see that most of the people in the restaurant had their eyes on them. There was NO way she was going to let fucking JUNGKOOK win this. She had to find a way to hurt him more-- make him look like the pity guy.
"Well fine! Because I've been cheating on you anyways!" As soon as Jennie screamed it, she covered her mouth immediately with her hands. Where the hell did that came from? It's the first thing that came to her mind.
"... you did-- what?" Jungkook said trying not to look hurt, that's how Jennie knew she made the right choice.
"Well yeah... you never let me finish, so I had to take my sexual frustration out somewhere." She said shrugging nonchalantly. Jungkook did what she did earlier, look around to see who was watching.
"No way!" The football player said in disbelief, "You wouldn't have the balls to do that."
"Are you kidding me? You obviously don't know me at all!"
"... who? W-- who was it?" Jungkook demanded.
"I... I don't have to tell you," the head chearleader said. Desperately trying to think of someone that was worthy of sleeping with, to make Jungkook hurt even more.
She was cold, cruel bitch. GET over it.
Jungkook smirked smugly, "See? Now I know you're lying. That's really pathetic, Jennie." He said, "I was right to break up with you." He started to get up as Jennie wracked her brain for an idea.
Then it hit her. Who was more badass than Jungkook? Who got more laid than Jungkook? Who was much more hotter than Jungkook?
Jennie rolls her eyes as she scoffs, "Uh-huhh? I'm sleeping with Lisa."
The football player's jaw dropped, (Along with every person in the room) and Lisa's fork clattered to her plate. Suddenly she felt a hand grips hers; she looked up only to see Jennie smiling at her.
"See babe? I told you I'd tell everyone," the brunette said. Lisa looked at her shocked. What the fuckity fucking fuck? Jennie tugged at her hand lightly and brought her to her feet, then into the booth across from Jungkook.
"You've GOT to be shitting me! There's no fucking way you like her!" Jungkook hissed, agitated. Jennie glared at him then smiled sweetly at the blonde.
"Tell him, Lisa, tell him how long we've been secretly seeing each other. How we fucked in Jackson's upstairs bathroom last night?" Jennie inquired. She maintained her cool facade but deep inside she was panicking. Her whole reputation was banking on what the other girl would say.
Lisa was so fucking confused. She was perfectly fine listening in on their conversation but then Jennie said they're sleeping together? They are not even friends! Jennie made sure to tell her she hated her on the daily basis and now this? She looked at Jennie and saw the proverbal light. While she acted all coy and smug, her eyes sung a different tune.
The head cheerleader was pleading with them, internally getting on her knees and begging.
Before Lisa's mind can even processed her response, she quickly opens her mouth.
"We've been going out for a month now," she said putting her arm around the Korean girl's shoulders. Jennie made a show of leaning into her.
"In fact, last night she faked being sick so she could be with me. I begged her to come and fuck me, and of course she's so pussy whipped she came running."
Lisa didn't know what she was saying but she couldn't turn back now.
"So when we were... you left for her?" Jungkook said, a second away from either screaming or crying. Probably both.
"Yeah that's right..." Jennie said, feeling slightly bad for the boy.
But she easily get over it.
"This is... this is bullshit!" He screamed, slamming his hands down on the table making both of the girls jump.
Someone cleared their throat causing the three of them to look up. The manager was staring at them sternly, arms crossed.
"I'm sorry but you are causing a public disturbance and we are going to ask you three to leave," he said annoyed.
"Fine, no problem." Jungkook said grabbing his jacket and walking out of the restaurant. Jennie stared after the last three years of her life and couldn't help but feel... relieved.
"Show's over losers!" Jennie claps, addressing the still watching crowd.
"C'mon BABE, let's go," Lisa almost growled. She grabbed Jennie's hand roughly, still acting her part. When she stood up, she was met with yet another stinging slap on the face.
"You suck!" Lisa's date said before storming off as well. Then, she felt a cool hand cupped her hot cheek.
"You okay, baby?" Jennie asked. Lisa held back a glare and refrained from slapping her hand away. She was so gonna make Jennie pay for this.
"Fine," the blonde said through gritted teeth. As soon as they were about to leave, the manager stopped them yet again.
"Uhmm excuse me, but you both have yet to pay for your meals." He said handing Jennie the bill, who in turn gave it to the blonde.
"Honey, I seemed to have forgotten my wallet." Aww FUCK no!
Lisa forced herself not to screamed in frustration and handed the guy her pocket money, which was barely enough to cover all four of their meals.
"C'mon!" She seethed.
As soon as they were out of everyone's sight, Lisa turned on her and all the acts were dropped.
"What the fucking HELL was that?"
"Look I'm sorry, okay? My reputation was at stake and I panicked!"
"No! Why did you say we were dating?"
"Because you're the only person who's more badass than Jungkook. The school would go crazy knowing I was the one who tied you down and it made Jungkook dumping me null and void." Lisa stared at her, wondering how she got so manipulative and twisted.
"You're fucking insane! I'm leaving." Lisa said.
"No wait! You can't just leave!"
"Why not? Haven't you used me enough?"
"Our little act is probably all over town by now. If we don't show up to school tomorrow as a couple I'll be ruined!"
"Not everything is about popularity, Jennie," Lisa sighed before walking away; Jennie grabbed her arms and tugged so they were facing each other again.
"Lisa please! I need this! I'll fucking do anything!" She asked desperately. When did things get so fucked up?
"Why the hell should I do anything for you? We can't even stand each other."
"I'll be nicer. Look, I don't like this situation as much as you do. You really think I want to pretend that I'm head over heals for YOU? It's not even realistic but now I can't take it back."
"Oh yeah... I can see you're definitely nicer," Lisa chuckled humorlessly. Jennie held back an eye roll.
"Please, just act like you're my GIRLFIEND for a week and then after that I can break up with you."
"What? You get to break up with me? Why can't I break up with you?"
"Because my--"
"Your reputation, of course..." Lisa rolled her eyes. Then she thought about it, "Y'know what? Fine. I'll do it."
"You will?" Jennie asked shocked.
"Yup, I'll pretend to be your girlfriend in one condition." Jennie waited as the other girl stayed silent.
"Well..? What is it?"
"I'm not sure what it is yet. I have to think."
"Well hurry up!"
"God, my girlfriend is so impatient. I'll tell you what-- when this is all over, you have to do one thing for me. ANYTHING I say."
"What? That's stupid! There's NO way in hell!"
"Well then... I guess you don't have a fake-girlfriend..."
"Fuck, wait no!" Jennie exclaimed before groaning. "Fine, it's a deal."
"Awesome! Now should we seal it with a kiss?" The blonde teased. If Jennie wanted to be 'Fake-girlfriends' then she was going to go all out and make sure the bitch suffered.
Jennie flipped her off as the blonde smiled deviously. And the head cheerleader couldn't help but think...
What in the hell she just gotten herself into?
