Chapter 4
[ ✔ ] We're Not Friends ▪ Jenlisa
[ The first day ]
The second they walked through the doors, the couple was confronted by none other than Byun Baekhyun.
"Ladies, ladies! Could I get an exclusive?" The currently pastel pink haired boy asked, shoving his microphone in Jennie's face.
While completely in character, Lisa stepped in between them and grabbed Baekhyun roughly by his shirt.
"Don't you dare come within spitting distance of my girlfriend ever again. In fact, I don't even want you looking at her nor thinking about her for that matter. You fucking understand?" The blonde sneered while Jennie stood behind her stunned.
"I-- uhm... y-yes, Lisa. Got it," he cowered. The badass let go of him brusquely before flashing a scowl.
"Great, now get the hell out of my sight." Baekhyun immediately scurried away, honestly scared for his life.
Jennie was a little floored. She could usually never get the pastel pink haired guy off her back, even after she messed him up and got all the football players to throw him in the dumpster. But one look from Lisa and the rat went running.
Lisa smiled at her and took her hand in hers once more, and Jennie felt her heart jump. What the..? She thought to herself, but she shook it off and resonated to her defense mechanism: Be a bitch.
"Don't you think that was a little too overboard?" The cheerleader's voice came out as a snarl and she gripped Lisa's hand tighter-- painfully so.
"Ow!" Lisa hissed, yanking her hand away.
"What? Do you like him? Because I fucking hate the guy and besides..." the blonde slung her arm around the brunette's shoulders and pulled her close, "I don't want him touching what's mine."
"I'm not yours, Lisa." She spat.
Jennie knew the other girl was trying to get a rise out of her, that's why she was acting like this. But she just couldn't contain her anger and she didn't like how Lisa treated her like Jennie was her property.
"You see Nini, you know that I know that-- but all these people staring? They don't. So why don't we follow through with what you started?"
Jennie sighed. She knew Lisa was right, even if she would never admit it out loud. The brunette also would never admit how much her heart thumped at her new nickname.
Sometimes Jennie really got herself into deep shits.
"Whatever... just take me to class, babe." Lisa smirked.
"Your wish is my command, your highness." Jennie rolled her eyes but decided to ignore the further nickname. Maybe if she pretended that Lisa didn't bug the hell out of her, then she'd quit being so goddamn annoying.
Before she could say anything more, Lisa had swiftly place a kiss on her cheek. Pushed her into her classroom and disappeared, leaving her no time to react to the kiss.
It was barely a peck, but Jennie could still feel her moist lips pressed to her skin. The spot are tingling.
[â¢â¢â¢]
"Lisa!" Someone yelled to the blonde.
"Sup, Taeyong-ah?" She said turning to face the boy. The two rarely conversed and when they did, it was only about one thing...
"I was wondering if you could help me with this choreography for our club and--"
"Woah there, I like you-- I do. And you know I love to dance. But anything Glee related and... well, can't help you with that."
"Lisa, no one is going to know. I'm just having a trouble with this one specific spot and I could use your expertise. It wouldn't be in front of Glee, just me and you." Lisa quirked her eyebrow at him.
"What about your girl?" She asked.
The reason why Lisa and Taeyong weren't as good of friends as they could be was because of Taeyong's girlfriend-- Wendy. Wendy absolutely detested the Thai girl because Lisa slept with Taeyong while she had a crush on him. Lisa thought it was stupid-- it's not like they had been dating (Taeyong was too nice to cheat) and the blonde thought she was over-reacting.
As much as people liked to believe it, Lisa wasn't a total sleaze. She respected girls (For the most) and would stop when they want to-- not forcing them to do anything etc. And guys... well they sorta liked the whole forceful things so she tried not to sleep with anyone who's already taken.
Needless to say, they were together now and Wendy still did not trust Lisa's promiscious ways. Making sure Taeyong has a little contact with the other dancer.
"She understands. Our sectionals are in two weeks and the team is counting on me to choreograph the whole thing..."
He looked exhausted. She knew he was spread thin as not only was he in Glee, he's also a wide receiver on the varsity football team. Also he was their class' front up valedictorian. Which is why she felt sorry for him.
"Sure Yong, I'll help you." She sighed.
Badass Lalisa Manoban was more compassionate than most people thought she was-- and that is a secret she intends to keep close and guarded. She smiled when she saw Taeyong's face lits up.
"You're such a blessing. Thanks, Lisa. I'll meet you in the dance room after school... tomorrow?"
"Why not today?" She asked, she didn't really feel like spending the afternoon alone.
Which she would be doing unless she a.) Bang someone outside of school and willing to keep their mouth shut. She was too lazy for that and there was only option b.) Hangout with Rosé and Jennie, which she just didn't feel like dealing with at the moment.
"I can't, football practice then extra Glee rehearsals. Not to mention Mr. Lee wants me to help him with some student paper works."
"Oh, well alright. I guess tomorrow is good."
"Thanks Lis, you really don't know how much this means to me."
"Yeah yeah, see you then..." the blonde replied, waving him off and walking to her next class.
[â¢â¢â¢]
Jennie sat in her History class, texting away on her phone. Rosé, some from the cheer and a couple from...
From Jeonie boy: I saw you with her.
Five minutes later.
From Jeonie boy: I made a mistake.
Thirty seconds.
From Jeonie boy: I want you back.
One minute.
From Jeonie boy: Just talk 2 me Jen!
Two minutes later.
From Jeonie boy: I'm not giving up.
Jennie smirked, thinking to herself 'that's what you get for trying to dump me, Jungkook.' Nothing has change, she still has the quarterback player wrapped around her pinkie. She's still top dog-- the only difference is she got rid of him. Maybe this whole 'dating Lisa' was actually a good thing.
Actually she knows that it is a good thing-- it was her idea!
"Hey Kim, I saw you tied down Lisa... niiice." Jackson, the local bonehead said.
"Oh shut the hell up, Wang. We all know you don't swing that way," Jennie said.
Jackson Wang is what you'd call a 'what the fuck gay.' Nothing about him screams 'gay'-- well, except for the fact that he liked guys. Other than that though, you would never guess.
Jackson turned away from her with a scoff.
Jennie went back to her texting. She got a new message, hoping it was Jungkook begging some more but she was surprised to find out it was Lisa.
From Manoban: This is hell.
Jennie couldn't stop the smile from spreading on her face. But as soon as she realized what she was doing, she made sure to force the corners of her lips down.
To Manoban: I know.
From Manoban: Everyone is on my back! I hate you.
The brunette's eyebrows crinkled and her heart clenched at the three words. She mentally hit herself for caring so much. But then, she realized something again: she didn't want Lisa to hate her. Usually she didn't care if anyone liked her but for some reason, she cared about the blonde's opinion of her.
She couldn't let that go on.
To Manoban: 19 periods, 5 lunches and 5 days to go. Then this will be over.
At least, she hoped it would be.
[â¢â¢â¢]
"I heard that girl who screams boombayah while shaking her pompoms got you on a tight leash, Manoban." The raven haired girl next to her said, "Didn't know you are a one woman girl."
"Go and fuck yourself, Park Sooyoung."
"That's it? Wow, someone's already lost their edge." Lisa ignored her.
"Lemme guess, you're not gonna chill with us at lunch today for your little preppy?" Lisa clenched her fists. She had been harrassed all period by her peers about her sudden change and she was sick of answering all the questions.
This dating 'Jennie' thing was already proving to be a bad decision. Not only could she not eat with her... acquaintances, but she also couldn't get her afternoon smoke or 6th period orgasm!
"Why would I want to smoke cheap cigars with you guys when I have a perfectly smokin' hot girl to bang?"
"You kidding me, Manoban? Kim is a total prude! I heard she would only put out for Jungkook when he begged."
"Yeah. Well, I'm not Jungkook." Lisa simply said.
Finally the bell rang and she was free. Without a goodbye, she left Joy and went to go pick up Jennie. The only good thing that came out of this affair was her goal to make Jennie even more miserable than she was.
She waited by the Korean girl's locker like she was told, crossed arms and head against the wall.
Suddenly, a fist collided with the locker next to her making her flinched.
"What the hell?" She yelled.
"You think you can just get away with stealing my girl?" Jungkook asked, seething. "Mark my words, she'll be mine by the end of this week!" He promised before walking away.
What a coward, not even a full-fledged fight from the guy? What a loser! She actually wished he would have actually punch her so she could beat him up and keep some of her street cred. Lisa never liked Jungkook. He was an idiot and she was way cooler than him. In fact, she disliked him more than she disliked Jennie.
Who was now right in front of her.
"Hey babe, what was that?" The head cheerleader asked.
"Nothing, just your whiny ex felt the need to tell me who you belonged to."
"Really?" Jennie asked excitedly as Lisa's eyes narrowed.
"You mean, you actually like him?"
"No, of course not! Jungkook's a pig-- popular but still a pig. The only thing he's good for is boosting my own popularity and I want him to regret his decision to the fullest."
"So... you want him to be jealous?"
"Something like that, yeah." Lisa's mind was reeling. It was a little too complicated. What went on inside the Korean girl's head was far beyond her.
They had the next class; Dramatic Arts, with Jungkook, Rosé, Taeyong, Wendy-- basically a lot of people. Everyone signed up for the class because it was taught by the coolest teacher in school, and though no one would admit it. It was sort of fun.
It was the same routine as the rest of the day. They walk in, everyone stares with wonder. Except this time with the exception of Jungkook, who was shooting daggers at Lisa and Rosé who was holding back her laughter.
Suddenly, there was a voice behind them.
"Well, look what we have here! Since when you two an item?" Ms. Choi Sooyoung asked, putting her arms around each of the girls.
"For a while now, Ms. C. We just became exclusive recently," Jennie answered.
"Well, I'm happy you have settled your differences-- see what love can do guys? It brings two completely opposite forces together and make them match together perfectly!" Rosé was barely holding herself together in the back of the class.
"Haha yup. That's what we are-- in love," Lisa butted in glaring back at Jungkook. Daring him to do something.
"Well awesome! This gives me the perfect opportunity to give you your newest assigment! Go sit Chicas!" She told them giving the two girls a slight push.
Jennie passed her regular seat next to Jungkook and went to sit next to Rosé with Lisa. The boy looked at the empty chair next to him with a frown painting on his face.
"Oh my god this has been the absolute best day ever!" Rosé giddily squealed, "The rumors floating around about you guys are hilarious."
"Will you keep it down? I'm trying to learn!" Yeri hissed from the front of them.
"Yeri, turn around!" Ms. Choi commanded with a mock anger.
"B-- but they--" the geek stuttered.
"Honestly, I'm disappointed in you, Yeri. I thought you were better than that." Yeri hung her head in shame as Ms. Choi winked to the three girls in the back.
"Now, the lesson will be called 'Star-Crossed Lovers'." Fearing the worst, the whole class groaned in protest.
"Oh, quit your bitching and groaning! Alright, so the assignment is this: You will be partnered up and will reenact an epic love scene from a play or movie and perform it for the class." This elicited some excited squeals from the girls in the room.
"Not so fast! I will be picking your partners and your scenes. The lists will be posted outside on the bulletin by tomorrow and you will perform them next Friday. This project is worth mass points so you better do a stellar job!"
The class groaned some more.
"Now don't worry, I'll have some mercy on you." Ms. Choi said with a sly grin, giving the impression that no, she would not have mercy on them.
Jennie facepalmed. Great, now she'll probably do some stupid scene from Romeo and Juliet with her fake girlfriend. Freaking awesome. Now she would be forced to spend even more time with her outside of class.
The rest of the class period was spent talking about the project and foods they ate for breakfast because Ms. Choi didn't feel like doing anything-- she was cool like that.
"Ugh, I hope I don't get paired up with some weird kid," Rosé complained.
"What? Ms. Choi totally loves you, she wouldn't do that!" Jennie assured her.
"Let's hope so..."
"You know, she'll probably pair us together." Lisa told Jennie, smiling deviously.
"Please, it's not like you guys aren't already acting out a scene from a cheesy romantic comedy. I'm sure if you told her what's going on, you could get credit for the performance you're putting on!"
"Oh shut it, Park!"
[â¢â¢â¢]
After more witty comebacks and casual conversation, the girls finally departed for lunch. Rosé always ate alone in the library as she studied, and Lisa and Jennie agreed to eat together to keep with their facade. Everyone usually ate out in the quad on sunny days which is where they found themselves now.
"So... how are we going to do this?" Lisa asked.
"What do you mean?"
"Well, we can't exactly sit with the cheerleaders," the blonde stated.
"Why not?"
"Because it'll be weird! I'm not a cheer material. I'll look stupid!"
"Yeah well, I'm not sitting on the dingy old couch under the bleachers as well." Jennie challenged.
"Ugh, fine..." Lisa said, before she came up an idea. "Okay, come on." Jennie didn't protest as Lisa dragged her through the people and onto the grassy area.
"What are you doing?" The brunette asked as Lisa stopped in front of a large tree that gave shade to some of the tables.
The blonde sat down before shrugging off her trademark leather jacket and place it in front of her. She patted the area in between her spread legs, gesturing for the Queen bee to sit down.
"Seriously?" Jennie said with a raised eyebrow. Could she actually expect her to--
"Oh, come on. It'll be romantic!" Reluctantly, Jennie put her bag aside and knelt down onto the leather jacket. Lisa pulled her close and turned her around so her back was pressed to her chest.
"Come on, Nini... try to relax." The badass coax, forcing her to lean back. The position was awkward only because the smaller girl was so tense.
Finally, she let it go and leaned into the blonde. Her body melting into Lisa's.
Lisa moved her hands from her shoulders down to her hands then she wrapped her arms around the Korean girl so that their intertwined hands rested on Jennie's stomach.
"Now, isn't this nice?" Lisa whispered, resting her chin lightly atop Jennie's head which was basically using her breasts as a pillow.
If Jennie was being absolutely truthful, it was pretty damn nice. The way they fit so perfectly together, the way Lisa's chest rose slightly everytime she breathed, the way Lisa's thumb was softly stroking her hand. It was unbelievably soothing and perfect.
For once, Jennie allowed herself to enjoy the moment. She just close her eyes and let herself get lost in the feeling of Lisa. She would worry about the consequences later.
Lisa was enjoying it too. When the Korean girl wasn't being a bitch, she was actually pleasant to be around, and her hair smelled super awesome.
The blonde liked the feeling of having Jennie in her arms, even though she told herself that she liked the feel or any girl in her arms. She knew this was... different. She just wasn't going to admit it to herself.
Unfortunately their little bubble had to be popped when the bell rung yet again, bringing them back to reality. They didn't know they had been sitting there for that long-- they hadn't even eaten anything!
Lisa helped Jennie up and grabbed her bag, then they walked to Jennie's class without a word. Both of them deep in thought about what had just happened. They couldn't help but think that a border had just been crossed, but neither chose to address it.
"I'll uhh... I'll see you after class," Lisa said, seemed in a rush.
Jennie simply nods, and watched her go.
[â¢â¢â¢]
The rest of the day went off without a hitch. Pictures of them cuddling at lunch were already on JHS's site, but they ignored him. They went back to their teasing/ general dislike/ mutual understanding attitude, and finally the last bell rung.
Jennie drove Lisa home before going to her own house, declining Rosé's offer to hang out. Exhausted, she lay on her bed, letting sleep over take her.
The last thing on Jennie's mind? The feeling of being in Lisa's arms.
