Chapter 603
The Billionaire Who Stole My Heart (Brittany and Isaac)
Chapter 603 Daniel seemed to sense her sadness. His small hands wrapped tightly around her neck as he whimpered quietly.
Brittany was crying so hard she couldnât control herself. Her whole body was trembling.
They held each other tightly, crying for a while. Then Daniel held back his tears and reached out to wipe Brittanyâs away, âMom, donât cry; it makes me really unhappy.â
Did he do something wrong to make his mom so upset?
He had been crying just a minute ago, so his eyes red-rimmed and his nose pink, looking utterly pitiful.
Brittany hastily wiped her tears and reached out to him, âCan I eat the gift you gave me?â
âOf course.â
Daniel opened the box and took out a small cake, presenting it solemnly to Brittany.
Brittany knew the cakes Emily made were delicious, and this one was no exception.
She took a bite through her tears, her eyes glistening, âThis is really yummy, thank you, Daniel.â. Daniel beamed, giving Brittany a sloppy kiss. Her face was covered in slobber, but it felt incredibly sweet. Isaac stood outside the lounge and saw them huddle together. There was a touch of sadness in his eyes. Brittany hadnât recovered yet. He looked at the time and thought it best for her to rest.
He went over to them, âGo get some rest first. You havenât recovered yet.â
Brittany didnât feel like talking to Isaac. She wanted to keep holding Daniel, but her body was too weak.
Reluctantly, she stood up, leading Daniel back to her room.
Back in her room, a nurse re-administered her IV. Daniel climbed up onto the bed, quietly staying by Brittany while his eyes were darting around.
âMom, are you sick?â He asked.
âUm, Iâm just a bit under the weather.â
Brittanyâs attention was almost entirely on Daniel.
Isaac walked in. Seeing them huddled together, he frowned, âDaniel, itâs late, you should go.â
He didnât like that all her attention was on Daniel.
Daniel didnât want to let go.
Brittany didnât want Daniel to leave either. âLet him stay, Iâm fine now.â She said.
Isaac gave a small smile, âJust this once.â
Daniel lay in Brittanyâs arms. He had cried earlier and he was a bit tired now. His grip on her dress loosened and he dozed off.
Once he was asleep, Brittany tucked him in and kissed his forehead, her eyes filled with tenderness.
Isaac walked to the side of the bed, picking up Daniel and handing him to Emily.
With her arms empty, Brittany felt a pang of loss.
âYou said before, as long as Kyle was alive, youâd hear me out.â Isaac said to her, Isaac had been waiting for a chance to explain.
Brittany leaned against the headboard with a hint of sarcasm in her eyes. âHow do you plan on explaining? Explain that everything five years ago was a sham? That your engagement with Shona was a lie? Or that the injuries I sustained from falling off the boat were fake?ââ
Isaac had prepared a lot to say, but facing Brittanyâs gaze, he couldnât get a word out.
Even if the engagement was fake, the pain and tears Brittany experienced were real!
âBri, I...â
âIâve forgotten about what happened five years ago.â Brittany gave him a serious look, âIf you really feel guilty, could you give Kyle to me?â
She licked her lips. She was thinking about Kyle all the time in the past five years, and now she found Daniel was Kyle and he was still alive. Sheâd never imagined that.
âTo you?â Isaacâs expression immediately changed, âYou want to leave me again?â

âWe were never married.â Brittany lowered her eyes, âThatâs my only request.â
âImpossible.â Isaac shook his head, âHeâs my only child. I wonât let him leave the Salter family.â
âYou can remarry...
âI wonât!â
Isaac interrupted Brittany, his eyes cold, âI wonât marry anyone besides you.â
Brittany was taken aback by his gaze. Was he pretending to be affectionate? Didnât he get close with other women five years ago?
Isaac took a deep breath, knowing now wasnât the time to discuss this. He rubbed his temples, waiting a moment before speaking. âLetâs talk about this later; you should rest now.â He said.
