Chapter 658
The Billionaire Who Stole My Heart (Brittany and Isaac)
Chapter 658 Brittany shot Grace an invite.
Grace was hankering to try Brittanyâs grub, so she agreed.
Brittany was stoked that she cooked extra rice.
She served up three bowls at the table, and just as Grace was getting ready to dig in, she noticed Brittanyâs hand was swollen and red.
âBrittany, what happened to your hand?â
Brittanyâs burn was hard to miss, with clusters of shiny blisters surrounded by redness. It looked gnarly.
âNo biggie, just a burn,â Brittany said, dodging Graceâs outstretched hand. âLetâs eat first.â
Grace felt a bit bummed and mostly guilty.
Daniel came back late and had a snack, so he wasnât that hungry. After a few bites, he claimed he was full and insisted on going back to his room.
Emily escorted him back to his room, leaving Brittany and Grace alone in the dining room.
After a long silence, unable to bear the tension, Grace broke it, âAre you still mad at me?â
Grace blamed herself for moving into Radiant Residences with Joie five years before and even getting mad at Brittany because of Joie.
âYouâre overthinking it; that was five years ago,â Brittany replied, her face aloof. âI wonât be staying in Radiant Residences for long. Once Iâve sorted things out, Iâll leave with Daniel.â
âIf you have even a shred of feeling for me, I hope you can persuade Isaac to give me custody of Daniel.â
âStill canât forgive Isaac, huh?â
Brittany lost her appetite, knowing that no matter how much Grace liked her, she would always side with Isaac. Thatâs her grandson, after all.
Grace realized sheâd spoken too hastily, âBrittany, Isaac did make mistakes five years ago, but heâs been waiting for you all these years.â
âI didnât force him to do those things, to pretend to be someone else and marry me. He deceived me for a long time, which caused me to be separated from my son for five years, even get kidnapped by Leda, and fall into the sea. If it werenât for him, I wouldnât have gone through all that.â
Grace immediately fell silent; after a while, she stammered, âCanât you give him another chance?â
âGrace, letâs eat first.â
Brittany composed herself, trying to stay cool as a cucumber.
Grace didnât bring up the topic again; she started inquiring about Brittanyâs life lately. She genuinely cared about Brittany, and Brittany answered all her questions.
After dinner, Grace left.
Before leaving, she looked at Brittany again and said, âBrittany, I want to apologize for what happened five years ago. I didnât take good care of you. If you have any resentment, you can vent it at me; just donât...â
âYouâre worried I might take it out on Joie?â Brittanyâs last bit of softness vanished instantly. Her gaze was cold.
Graceâs lips trembled slightly, âJoie saved my life, and Isaacâs.â
âPlease leave, Grace.â
Brittany felt really uncomfortable.
After Grace left, Brittany stood in the yard, looking at the well-kept mansion, feeling disgusted.
She was fed up with everything there, including the people who showed up.
When Isaac got back, he found out that Grace had been there.
He immediately went to see Brittany, only to find her packing.
âWhat are you doing?â he asked.
Brittany paused in folding her clothes and replied, âIâm taking Daniel and getting out of here.â
Isaacâs expression instantly changed, âYouâre doing well here. Why would you want to move?â
Brittany stood up and said, âMy brother gave me a villa; itâs closer to school, and the security measures are just as good.â
She paused, âYou might get married in the future. Could you consider giving me custody of Daniel?â

Isaac clenched his fists, and his eyes were dark as he replied, âNo way.â
Brittany expected his response. If that was the case, there was no point in discussing it further.
âThen weâll have to settle this in court âEven though we didnât get married, our past relationship could be considered a de facto marriage. Iâm capable and confident that I can take good care of Daniel.â
âWe are married!â Isaac couldnât tolerate her cool-headed analysis of her advantages any longer, and so he blurted that out.
Brittany was taken aback, âWhat are you talking about?â
They were married?
