Chapter 685
The Billionaire Who Stole My Heart (Brittany and Isaac)
Chapter 685 Brittany had never attended a Parent-Child Sports Day before, and she was somewhat anxious because of that.
When the weekend arrived, she woke up early. Emily had prepared matching outfits for them especially for the event, and cheerfully handed them to Brittany, âMs. Dustin, these v were picked out by Daniel/ You should try them on.â
Upon hearing that Daniel had chosen them, Brittany scrutinized the clothing carefully.
Daniel had always had a refined taste, even from a young age.
The deep gray outfits were understated and subdued, with hand-embroidered patterns at the neckline that added a lively touch to the dark fabric.
Brittany retreated to her room to change into that outfit. When she emerged, Isaac had just left his bedroom.
As much as Brittany hated to admit it, his handsome features were undeniably striking.
Five years had passed, and Isaac was still as handsome as ever, with no signs of aging on his face. Instead, time had given him an air of tranquility and depth, like a deep spring. It was very difficult to read his thoughts, and his demeanor was even more guarded and intimidating than before.
Isaacâs eyes flickered when he saw Brittany in the matching outfit.
âLetâs go.â
âAlright.â
As Brittany moved past him, she caught a whiff of his aftershave, with its faint hint of pine. It was the same scent he had worn five years ago.
Unfortunately, he had changed a lot.
She briskly descended the staircase, where Daniel was waiting for them in the living room with his backpack. âMom, Dad.â
Isaacâs smile faded a bit as he greeted his son.
Isaac grunted in approval and approached Daniel, taking his backpack from him.
âLetâs go.â
Daniel was pleasantly surprised when Isaac took his bag, and he quickly grabbed Brittanyâs hand.
Brittany led him out of the Radiant Residences. The Residences were always well-maintained, exuding an air of elegance and luxury.
Outside was a path paved with cobblestones, with lampposts lining the sides. In the height of summer, the entire courtyard was bathed in a soft, golden glow that was mesmerizing to look at.
Without informing Nathan, Isaac climbed into the driverâs seat.
Brittany opened the back door for Daniel. Once he was settled in, she was about to join him when she heard Isaac coughing.
Daniel quickly suggested, âMorn, you sit in the front. I want to sit in the back alone.â
It was clear that Isaac was hinting to her to sit in the front.
Brittany could easily tell that Isaac was doing it on purpose, but she refused to let him have his way.
âYouâre still young. Itâs not safe for you to sit in the back alone. Iâll sit with you.â
Isaacâs expression darkened as he said, âAre you treating me like a chauffeur?â
Brittany retorted, âThen should I call a cab?â
If it werenât for Daniel, she wouldnât even bother sharing a car with him.
Isaacâs lips tightened. He knew that Brittany could do such a thing, so he took a deep breath and calmly said, âGet in the car.â
Brittany settled in the back seat and took the items from Emily before closing the door.
After fastening her seat belt, she took out a yogurt from the bag and handed it to Daniel, saying, âThis is homemade strawberry yogurt from Granny Emily. Give it a try.â
âThanks, Mom.â
Daniel noticed the tense atmosphere and sipped his yogurt quietly. His large, innocent eyes darted back and forth as he tried to figure out how to ease the tension between them.

ï¤Chapter 987 During the morning rush hour, what should have been a half-hour drive took an hour. Daniel finished his yogurt and started to doze off in the soft seat.
The car moved in fits and starts, and the smell of gasoline filled the air. Brittany felt nauseous and rolled down her window, revealing her slightly pale face.
âHere,â Isaac handed her an orange, âPeel it and smell it.â
Thanks.â
Brittany took the orange and peeled it. The fresh citrus scent helped alleviate her nausea and her face gradually regained its color.
Weâre almost there. Just hang in there for a bit longer,â Isaac said, trying to comfort Brittany.
Brittany merely hummed in response, inhaling the scent of the orange peel to help aid her nausea.
After about ten minutes, the traffic started moving again and the unpleasant smell of gasoline dissipated. Brittany divided the orange into halves, giving one half to Daniel and keeping the other for herself.
She took a bite. The orange was fresh and juicy, with a sweet and fragrant taste.
