CH 15

After finishing lunch, Shan Yi sent Shen Tiantian back to the company, and the two of them went upstairs one after the other.

Shen Tiantian’s mind was filled with thoughts of Shan Yi going on a business trip for half a month.

Tomorrow is Thursday, and she won’t be able to go to the airport to see Shan Yi off.

Although it’s not a long time, she was reluctant to be separated so soon after starting a relationship. She pursed her lips, propped her head with one hand, and although her eyes were focused on the screen, her mind was blank.

“Tiantian?”

Zhang Huan placed two thick folders on her desk and said, “I’ve completed these documents. Help me sign it.”

Shen Tiantian didn’t say anything. After casually glancing at them, she flipped to the last page, signed her name, and handed them back to Zhang Huan.

Zhang Huan was stunned by Shen Tiantian’s indifferent attitude. She remembered that in the past, whenever she approached her, Shen Tiantian would smile, and sometimes even joke with her.

She looked at the top of Shen Tiantian’s head, as if recalling something that might have offended her.

However, Shen Tiantian didn’t give her much time to think. She tilted her head and asked her, “Is there anything else?”

Zhang Huan came back to her senses and quickly said, “No, there’s nothing,” before leaving. Perhaps it was because she liked to stay at home,  Shen Tiantian was not very good at socializing with people. There were less than ten people she could maintain a good relationship with, and she was particularly bad at dealing with people like Zhang Huan, so it was better to keep her distance.

Shen Tiantian felt a bit bored, but fortunately, a message from Shan Yi came just in time.

—I’m getting off work first. Can you go home by yourself tonight?

Shen Tiantian quickly replied: [Sure. That’s fine]

She had always walked home by herself.

—I’ll ask Shan Xu to pick you up.

Although they had only met twice, Shen Tiantian had a deep impression of Shan Xu. After all, both times she had mistaken him as Shan Yi’s boyfriend.

Shen Tiantian blushed and successfully changed the topic. “Be careful on the road.”

With the busyness of work, Shen Tiantian quickly pushed this matter to the back of her mind. It wasn’t until she saw Shan Xu in front of the building that she remembered that she had forgotten to refuse.

Because Shan Yi wasn’t around, Shen Tiantian didn’t need to worry about being seen by anyone, so she didn’t refuse Lu Xiaochun’s proposal to walk together.

Shan Xu saw Shen Tiantian at a glance and walked towards them with a smile. His tall figure immediately attracted the attention of many people. He said in a low voice, “Hi, little cutie.”

Shen Tiantian: ……

Lu Xiaochun tugged at her hand and stared at Shan Xu without blinking. She slowly leaned closer to her ear and whispered, “Could this be your boyfriend?”

“He’s so handsome, much more handsome than my boyfriend.” Lu Xiaochun sighed.

Lv Xiaochun did not deliberately lower her voice, so Shan Xu naturally heard it. Thinking he was quite handsome, he casually ran his slender fingers through his hair, “Thank you.”

Shan Xu was indeed quite handsome. Previously, she had overlooked him due to having other thoughts. Now, taking a closer look, his facial features were actually quite similar to Shan Yi’s, yet he didn’t lack the masculinity that a man should have.

Shen Tiantian felt slightly awkward, perhaps because she was aware of his true relationship with Shan Yi, but it wasn’t a significant issue.

She turned to look at Lu Xiaochun and said with a serious expression, “He’s not my boyfriend.”

Shan Xu chuckled and said, “She’s my sister-in-law.”

Shen Tiantian’s face grew slightly warm because of how he addressed her. She gave Shan Xu a faint glance.

Shan Xu was still smiling cheekily. “Where do you live? I’ll give you a ride.”

Lu Xiaochun quickly waved her hand. “My boyfriend is waiting for me at the New Age. I have to go first.”

“Okay.” Shan Xu waved to her until she completely disappeared from sight, then turned to Shen Tiantian. “Sister asked me to send you home.”

Shen Tiantian pursed her lips and nodded gently. “Sorry to trouble you.”

Shan Xu smiled and asked. “Sister-in-law, do you want to go eat first?”

“No, thanks.” Shen Tiantian declined.

Shen Tiantian was not good at interacting with people, especially men.

Throughout the journey, it was Shan Xu who kept finding topics to talk about, while she remained passive.

Jazz music played in the car as Shen Tiantian sat in the front passenger seat, and Shan Xu casually said, “I didn’t expect my sister to win you over so quickly.”

Shen Tiantian: ……

She couldn’t say that it was her who pursued Shan Yi.

“Although my sister usually doesn’t smile and seems very serious and rigid, she’s actually quite innocent. Once she’s set her mind on someone, she won’t let go.”

Shen Tiantian: …..

She didn’t see Shan Yi as rigid.

Shan Xu mischievously curled up the corner of his lips and continued, “Sister-in-law, don’t you want to know about my sister’s past love life?”

Shen Tiantian was taken aback and turned to look at him, a hint of confusion flickering in her eyes. Why did she feel like Shan Xu was up to no good?

“When my sister was studying in France, she had a classmate who was a girl. Every day, she would surprise my sister with different gifts, follow her home, and practically make it known to everyone. Even my parents, who weren’t in France, knew about it.” Shan Xu paused for a moment and continued,”But then my sister suddenly transferred schools, and we lost contact with her.”

Shan Yi was very outstanding to begin with, so it wasn’t strange for someone to pursue her. Shen Tiantian was just curious as to why Shan Yi didn’t accept the girl?!

Was it because she didn’t have feelings for her, or was her heart already taken?

Shan Yi could have found someone better than her, but why did she choose her?

Shen Tiantian smiled and got out of the car. “Thank you.”

“Remember to call my sister,” Shan Xu said.

Shen Tiantian nodded and waved at him before walking into the residential complex.

Back at home, she put down her bag and curled up on the sofa. Her mind kept replaying Shan Xu’s words.

After thinking for a long time, she picked up her phone and asked in the WeChat group.

Shen Tiantian: [Why would the CEO like me? She could have found someone better.]

She didn’t receive a reply after sending the message, so she put down her phone and went to the kitchen to make a sandwich. As she ate, she walked back to the sofa and turned on the television. She picked up her phone and saw that Liu Wanjun had replied.

Liu Wanjun: Some people even have flash marriages. It’s about the feeling, the most important thing.

Liu Wanjun: When you fall in love, there’s no need to explain why. Love at first sight doesn’t have a logical explanation.
