After returning to the company, Shen Tiantian waited for Shan Yi, but she didn’t show up, nor did she send any messages. Though it was a bit strange, Shen Tiantian didn’t inquire about it.

Not sure if her words had an effect, Assistant Yang assigned her some work.

Until the end of the workday, Shan Yi still hadn’t appeared.

Shen Tiantian finally couldn’t resist and sent her a message asking where she was. Shan Yi didn’t reply, but she called back.

“Where are you? Is everything okay?!” Shen Tiantian’s voice sounded anxious.

A trace of guilt flashed through Shan Yi’s heart, but it was just a trace.

She smiled and said softly: “I’m downstairs at the company. Are you done now?”

Knowing that Shan Yi wasn’t involved in any accident, Shen Tiantian breathed a sigh of relief. She glanced at Assistant Yang, covered the phone with her hand, and said in a low voice: “I’m done now, I’m going downstairs.”

Shan Yi acknowledged with a “Hmm,” and said, “I’ll wait for you.”

After hanging up the phone, Shen Tiantian told Assistant Yang: “Uh, I’m leaving work now.”

Assistant Yang didn’t raise her head but responded in a relaxed tone, “The CEO is picking you up?”

Shen Tiantian was momentarily stunned, blushing, she nodded. Realizing that Assistant Yang couldn’t see her, she softly mumbled, “Yes.”

Assistant Yang didn’t say anything more, and Shen Tiantian shrugged her shoulders and whispered: “Then I’ll go first. Thank you for your help today, Assistant Yang.”

Yang Li didn’t humbly accept her gratitude, although it was part of her job. She finally glanced at Shen Tiantian but quickly averted her gaze again, “Okay.”

Shen Tiantian wasn’t sure if Yang Li could see her nodding, so she left the office.

As the elevator reached the ground floor, she immediately spotted Shan Yi standing by the car door, wearing sunglasses. She had changed out of the morning suit and was now wearing a black skirt, with a pair of slender, white, and long legs exposed. Her upper body was in a white chiffon shirt, tucked into the skirt with the wide long sleeves hanging outside, semi-transparent, revealing her slender arms, looking both sexy and cute.

Given the crowded time, with many people coming in and out of the building, Shan Yi’s natural good looks, combined with her current attire, made her radiant and charismatic. People passing by couldn’t help but cast their eyes on her, thinking she might be some famous celebrity.

During the few minutes she waited for Shen Tiantian, several people had approached Shan Yi trying to strike up a conversation, but they were scared away by her deadly gaze.

Shen Tiantian had no idea about these advances; she was mesmerized by Shan Yi’s stunning appearance, unable to take her eyes off her and had no time to notice others.

Shan Yi took off her sunglasses and smiled at her.

Such is her charm that she can turn all heads.

Shen Tiantian couldn’t care less about anything else at that moment; she rushed towards Shan Yi and threw herself into her arms.

“You didn’t show up all afternoon just to dress up like this?” Shen Tiantian teased her, not realizing that her voice had become slightly higher.

Shan Yi smiled tenderly, “Do you like it?”

Without hesitation, Shen Tiantian replied: “I love it!”

Shan Yi pinched her face and placed the sunglasses back on her before she could react, then she quickly opened the car door and pushed her inside.

Shen Tiantian removed the sunglasses again and gave Shan Yi a disapproving look.

Shan Yi just smiled and didn’t say anything, she started the car and headed home.

“Where did you go today, after all?!” Shen Tiantian asked, tilting her head to look at Shan Yi’s profile.

Shan Yi said mysteriously: “Guess.”

Shen Tiantian thought for a moment and shook her head with a pout, “I can’t guess.”

“You’ll find out soon.”

Shen Tiantian showed a look of disdain and wrinkled her nose, “Why so secretive?!”

Shan Yi remained silent and took advantage of a traffic light to hold her hand, gently squeezing it.

If she didn’t want to say, Shen Tiantian wouldn’t force her. She changed the topic, “What are we having for dinner tonight?”

“I’ve prepared it.”

“Huh?” Shen Tiantian looked at her and brought the topic back, “Is today a special day?”

Shan Yi smiled wryly, “Perhaps, for me, it’s quite a special day.”

Shen Tiantian was already curious, and hearing this made her even more eager. After thinking for a while, she guessed, “Is it your birthday today?!”

“No,” Shan Yi stifled a laugh and continued to maintain the mystery.

Throughout the journey, Shen Tiantian kept guessing, but Shan Yi never gave a direct answer. “Alright, you’ll know soon, get off the car.”

“Ah, come on, what is it!” Shen Tiantian was going crazy.

Shan Yi just smiled without saying a word and held her hand, leading her into the elevator.

Shen Tiantian sighed in frustration and said through her nose, “Fine, I won’t ask.”

Shan Yi chuckled, ruffled her hair, and Shen Tiantian gave her a resentful glare. She took out her keys, opened the door, changed into slippers, and turned on the lights. However, she was startled by the scene before her and stopped in her tracks.

On the solid-colored wall, there were several green balloons arranged in the shape of a heart, inside of which was a big one and a small one, symbolizing them – one for her and one for the child.

She stood there, surrounded by balloons of different colors – red, pink, and green in the center, long ribbons swaying in the air. On the clean dining table, there was a bouquet of red roses, two tall glasses, and a bottle of red wine. Since the table was a bit far, she couldn’t see the dishes on it.

Her eyes continued downward, and she saw flower petals scattered on the floor, leading to the sofa and even on the carpet, like a sea of flowers, with a faint scent of roses in the air.

She smelled it at the entrance, but didn’t think much about it. She didn’t expect to see such a scene.

Perhaps because time was tight, it wasn’t designed perfectly, but she could still tell that the owner had put a lot of effort into it.

Stiffly, Shen Tiantian turned her head and stared at Shan Yi like a robot. No wonder she didn’t return to the company all afternoon. It turned out she was busy with all this?!

Shan Yi was a bit shy, an unusual sight, as she carefully held her waist, “Do you like it?”

Shen Tiantian blinked, not nodding or saying anything.

Time seemed to stand still.

Shen Tiantian’s eyes were a bit moist and shimmered under the lights.

After what felt like an eternity, Shen Tiantian finally spoke, “I like it.”

Shan Yi smiled and kissed her, lowering her head.

Shen Tiantian wrapped her arms around Shan Yi’s neck, responding to her with increasing skill.

This kiss was not as lingering as before, and Shan Yi soon let go of her, sliding her hand from her waist and patting her buttocks, “Let’s go inside.”

“How did you know I like green?” Shen Tiantian looked at the sea of green in the room and asked curiously.

“Do you still need to ask?” Shan Yi smiled and said: “Most of the things at home are in shades of green.”

Shen Tiantian felt a bit embarrassed and scratched her head. “Don’t you think it’s strange to like green?”

“Of course not. But I want to know why you like it.”

“It’s nothing special, I just think it looks good and it feels very fresh and healthy.” Shen Tiantian shook her head, sat down on a chair, and looked at the delicious steak and salad in front of her. Her eyes lit up, “Why the sudden surprise for me?”

Because there’s something more important to do, Shan Yi thought in her heart.

She didn’t show it and poured herself a glass of red wine, while Shen Tiantian’s glass was filled with milk. The two contrasting colors – red and white – looked somewhat strange together.

Unable to hold back her laughter, Shen Tiantian said, “Why use a wine glass for milk?”

“It adds a sense of ceremony,” Shan Yi said with a serious face.

Alright.

Shen Tiantian continued to smile and couldn’t help but laugh when she saw the milk in a wine glass.

Shan Yi raised her glass and clinked it against Shen Tiantian’s. She then took a sip, and Shen Tiantian followed suit, taking a shallow sip.

“Wait for me a moment,” Shan Yi said.

As Shen Tiantian watched Shan Yi get up, she was about to ask what she was doing, but then everything went dark with a smack, and the whole room was plunged into darkness.

Originally, she wanted to ask what Shan Yi was up to, but her attention was drawn back to the steak on the table, and she fell silent.

It felt so cheesy and embarrassing, but why did she strangely love it?!

Every time, Shan Yi went to great lengths to surprise her, and she had done nothing for her in return. Thinking about it, Shen Tiantian suddenly felt moved and guilty.
