Chapter 304 - 303: Don’t Be a Hypocrite_1
Legend of Dragon Son-in-law
Aron Jackson had weathered many storms, but at this moment even he couldnât help but furrow his brow.
He wasnât familiar with Bane Cook, but he had heard of the other manâs name.
Today, upon meeting him, he realized that this man was even more ruthless than he had imagined.
As for Julius Reed, he didnât feel much of anything.
Traitors generally met with very miserable fates.
Titan Group spent a huge budget to sustain them every year, and yet they ended up stabbing them in the back, helping outsiders kill their own bread and butter. Such people deserved to die.
âGoing to talk or not?â
Bane Cook, holding Winston Pendletonâs head in one hand, asked emotionlessly.
In his other hand, a knife was still dripping with fresh blood.
âHeh! Bane Cook, Iâm a man too. Since I took the money, I was prepared to meet death! Come on, donât fucking make me look down on you!â
Winston Pendletonâs face was pale, his clothes already soaked with blood.
Having lost both ears, and with an eye gone, there was no point in living.
Originally, as long as Julius Reed was willing to let him live, he could have revealed some secrets.
Who would have thought that Bane Cook would be so fierce right from the start, pushing him towards a dead end?
âSomeone, bring the salt!â
Seeing that Winston Pendleton was still being defiant, Bane Cook extended a hand, and from inside his off-road vehicle, a man immediately stepped out, holding a bag of salt.
âPeople say that pouring salt on a wound hurts; I want to see if your, Mr. Breadâs, bones are tougher, or if my, Bane Cookâs, knives are blunter!â
Having said that, he sprinkled salt on the open stub of Winston Pendletonâs ear.
âHissâ¦â
Winston Pendleton clenched his teeth tightly, cracking sounds emanating as his entire body sweated profusely, shaking like a sieve.
âBane Cook, you wonât die a good death!â
He screamed desperately, but it was in vain.
âEven if you were made of steel and iron, Iâd shatter you to pieces today!â
Bane Cook threw the salt aside and took out a bottle of mustard oil from his pocket.
âGoing to talk or not, Mr Bread? Donât blame a brother for not showing you mercy.â
As he spoke, he dripped a few drops onto the wound.
Thump!
Winston Pendletonâs eyes rolled back as he fainted from the pain.
âWake him up!â
Bane Cook walked past the body to another car and pulled out two children from inside.
Whoosh!
With a bucket of water poured on him, Winston Pendleton shivered and weakly opened his eyes.
If it were not for his strong physique, he would have likely been tortured to death by now.
âLuka, Betty!â
Upon seeing the two children, Winston Pendletonâs body shook, and then he shouted venomously, âBane Cook, calamities should not involve family! Why did you bring my children here!â
âSorry! I heard your kids went abroad last month; it took quite an effort to get them back from there.â
Bane Cook squatted down to pat the two childrenâs heads, speaking with a face full of affection, âWith such changes at the high level of Titan Group, as the person responsible, I absolutely canât ignore it! If you prove to be innocent, naturally, I will let the children go. But unfortunately, you are a traitor.â
âYouâve suspected me all along?â
Winston Pendletonâs mouth twitched continuously, and he was also somewhat mentally fractured.
âNot at all!â
Bane Cook shook his head, âEven if it were Ovidiu Cook trying to move his relatives, I would still bring them back! Itâs my responsibility, and I canât afford any negligence.â
He touched the childrenâs heads and whispered softly, âQuickly, call daddy!â
âDaddy!â
Two little girls around the age of four looked at Winston Pendleton, calling out.
This âDaddyâ completely broke through Winston Pendletonâs psychological defense.
âChildren are innocent, I tell you.â
Winston Pendleton closed his eyes, speaking in extreme agony, âThree months ago, a senior came to Five-river Province, handed me fifty million directly, and asked me to do something for them. I wanted to refuse at that time, but they promised me, once it was done, at least ten billion!â
Having said this, he looked at Julius Reed with bitterness, âI couldnât resist the temptation and betrayed you, boss. Then, he told me the whole plan, how I was to use my jobâs convenience to ensure absolute fatal outcomes, then I agreed.â
âTen billion? Not a small amount, I would have done the same,â
Julius Reed nodded, the other party really was willing to spend money.
However, Ovidiu Cook was a real bastard, having the ordeal occur right under his nose without detecting a thing.
It was Bane Cook who at least managed to control Winston Pendletonâs family.
âI couldnât see the personâs face very clearly, but he was around forty years old and very rich. The most important point, heâs a local from Five-river Province,â
At this point, Winston Pendleton swallowed his saliva, pleading, âThatâs really all I know, please, let the children go.â
âMr. Bread, Iâm asking you one last time, are you sure you havenât hidden anything?â
Bane Cook crouched on the ground, staring fixedly at Winston Pendleton.
âI dare not hide a single thing! I have told you everything, I havenât lied to you at all!â
Winston Pendleton nodded hastily, âAfter you kill me, I only ask you to treat my children well. I have done things I shouldnât have while alive, I have no regrets in death!â
âVery good!â
Suddenly, Bane Cook cracked a smile, but this smile sent shivers down everyoneâs spine.
Thwack!
He suddenly drew his knife and plunged it directly into a childâs heart.
âNo!â
Winston Pendletonâs eyes split with fury, trying to struggle and rush over, but he was firmly held down.
âMr. Bread, I gave you your chance. Clearly, you didnât cherish it.â
Bane Cook pushed the child away and walked behind the other little girl, âYou tell me the children are innocent? Isnât the bossâs life innocent? Your sister-in-law was also attacked, only your daughterâs life is precious, and theirs are not?â
âDonât be hypocritical!â
âI say!â
Winston Pendleton took a deep breath, closed his eyes and said, âThe person who approached me is Fabio Pendleton, originally planning to leave Five-river Province tonight. But since the boss isnât dead, I reckon he might leave earlier once he gets the news. Heâs at the Titan Groupâs Azure Wind Hotel, room 607.â
âThatâs more like it!â
Bane Cook twirling his dagger, slowly approached Winston Pendleton, âActually, I didnât know this, it was just speculation that you might be hiding something. But I didnât expect Iâd actually be right.â
âYouâ¦â
Thwack!
Winston Pendletonâs eyes widened, just as he was about to speak, a knife pierced through his heart.
âBoss, Iâll go catch him.â
After pulling out the knife, Bane Cook wiped the blood off it.
âAron Jackson, you go with him, Iâm going back to check on your sister-in-law. Get back to me with results immediately after the interrogation,â
Julius Reed turned and walked to a sedan, started the engine, ready to head home.
Quella Radcliffe having been attacked, despite nothing serious happening, was still something he couldnât let go of.
âBoss, I donât want to work with him.â
Aron Jackson walked helplessly in front of Julius Reed, shrugging, âThat guy is too ruthless, his employees have no sense of security.â
âAron Jackson, Iâve heard a lot about you!â
Bane Cook was unapologetic, wrapping an arm around Aron Jackson, laughing loudly, âCome on, letâs finish the job, then drink a few!â
And his hand smeared blood directly on Aron Jacksonâs clothes.
âFabio Pendleton, ah! I truly feel sad for you!â
Thinking about the torture Fabio Pendleton was going to face, Aron Jackson sighed deeply.
