Chapter 589 - 589 My Man_1
Legend of Dragon Son-in-law
âMr. Thorneycroft, has Fox Miller succeeded in his task?â
Gonzalez City Airport.
A young man in sunglasses spoke up beside an elderly man dressed in a Zhongshan suit.
âFox Miller is one of my most capable men, and he was well prepared. By now, Itai Huntingtonâs corpse should be cold.â
The elderly man glanced at the watch on his wrist, worth millions, and spoke emotionlessly.
His hair was completely white, hinting he must be over sixty years old, yet his spirit seemed very vigorous.
In his features, there was an air of authority.
After checking the time, the man clasped his hands behind his back and looked straight ahead.
âFather, Alonso Dragon has achieved little; you must not let him off lightly!â a woman by the old manâs side said.
âVito, Alonso indeed acted rashly, but he needs time to grow.â
Fabian Percival smiled and looked at Elwood Thorneycroft, âAfter all, when I grow old, I will hand over the family business to you. As a young lady, it isnât easy for you to be too exposed to the public. You should manage the internal affairs of the family, while Alonso takes care of external matters.â
âYes, Father.â
Elwood Thorneycroft nodded with a hint of reluctance, âPutting a major plan at risk for a woman, such a person should be considered carefully, Father.â
âI have my own judgment.â
Fabian Percival turned his head back, looking forward, and waved his hand, âLetâs go, letâs visit the place where your grandfather once struggled.â
âGonzalez City, we are back!â@@novelbin@@
A flicker of excitement passed through the eyes of the three, as they strode towards the airport exit.
âFabian Percival!â
Just then, a voice called out from behind them.
âWho dares to address Mr. Thorneycroft by name!â
The young man with sunglasses turned around, looking coldly in the direction of the voice.
âItai Huntington?â
Seeing Itai Huntington emerge behind them, a hint of surprise crossed Fabian Percivalâs mind.
Fox Miller had failed?
âNot dead?â
Elwood Thorneycroft and Benson Dragon both widened their eyes in shock.
âDonât panic, we canât give ourselves away.â
Fabian Percival took a deep breath and smiled, âSo itâs Miss Huntington, I thought you couldnât make it.â
He walked over with extended arms, hoping to convey goodwill.
âHow could I possibly refuse Mr. Thorneycroftâs invitation? Even if my car were to get rammed en route, or I was threatened with a hidden weapon, I would still come to see you!â
Itai Huntington unapologetically pulled her hand back, flat-out ignoring Fabian Percivalâs offer of a handshake.
The message was clearâit was an open declaration of conflict.
âInsolent! Mr. Thorneycroft offers you his hand and you dare not to acknowledge it?â
Benson Dragon took off his sunglasses, glaring at Itai Huntington with murderous intent.
âHeh!â
Facing Benson Dragonâs gaze, Itai Huntington let out a cold laugh, âMr. Thorneycroft, is your pet always this untrained? The master is speaking, and yet it barks incessantly on the side.â
âWho are you calling!â
âSilence!â
Fabian Percival shouted angrily, and Benson Dragon pressed down his rage, staring intently at Itai Huntington.
âMiss Huntington, this is Benson Dragon, a valuable member of my staff.â
Even though he was dissatisfied, having acted first in committing murder put him at a disadvantage.
âHe helps me with the business; if he has been disrespectful to you, please overlook it,â he said.
âThis is my daughter, Elwood Thorneycroft.â
âOh! Your real daughter, huh? I thought she might be adopted!â
Julius Reed scrutinized her from head to toe and shook his head, âYou two donât resemble each other at all. Itâs quite thought-provoking, indeed!â
âQuiet! How dare you insult me!â
Elwood Thorneycroftâs temper flared, unaccustomed to such direct disrespectâin her world of pride and privilege, how could she tolerate it?
âMiss Huntington, your pet seems disobedient.â
Fabian Percivalâs expression darkened as he spoke flatly.
The insult Itai Huntington had just delivered to him was now returned in kind.
âSorry, you may not know, but he is my man.â
Itai Huntington smiled seductively, leaned into Julius Reedâs side, gently took his arm, and said, âThe one calling the shots now isnât me; itâs him.â
âYour man? How come I havenât heard about it?â
Fabian Percival was at first startled, then his eyes locked onto Julius Reed like an eagleâs.
He had placed spies around Itai Huntington and was very clear about every move she made.
How could he have missed such big news as her finding a man?
âHis name is Julius Reed, which Mr. Thorneycroft should be familiar with,â she said.
Itai Huntington smiled faintly and introduced, âJulius Reed, from Gonzalez City, son-in-law of the Radcliffe Family. Though their relationship is in name only, Julius Reed is now my man.â
By saying this, she could make Fabian Percival believe that Julius Reed was her man while also protecting Quella Radcliffe.
Otherwise, by Fabian Percivalâs methods, it would be easy for him to look into Julius Reedâs background and possibly harm the Radcliffe Family.
Julius Reed would be the only one to suffer in the end.
Now, by taking responsibility, she could keep Fabian Percivalâs attention focused on herself.
âWhere did I hear that? Miss Huntington must be joking.â
Fabian Percival was of course aware of Julius Reed; his spies had reported that Itai Huntington had been getting close to a man recently, and he had suspected a relationship between the two.
Now that the man was right in front of him, he realized the information might be true.
Indeed, even the strongest of women can have a man who can handle her.
âShall we go to eat? My husband is hungry.â
Itai Huntington caressed Julius Reedâs stomach and then looked up, âWhatâs for lunch?â
âSeafood, since youâve made me crave it all.â
Julius Reed knew Itai Huntington was protecting Quella Radcliffe, so he didnât expose the lie.
After all, the innocent have nothing to fear.
With that said, the two walked on ahead.
âWhat a bitch!â
Benson Dragon muttered under his breath.
Just after he finished speaking, the people ahead suddenly stopped.
âWhatâs wrong?â
Fabian Percival raised an eyebrow, wondering why Itai Huntington had stopped.
âOh! What did you just say?â
Julius Reed turned around and walked up to Benson Dragon.
âI didnât speak.â
Benson Dragon said with a stern face and an unfriendly tone.
âOh, really? Then how come I heard you cursing someone?â
Julius Reed smiled faintly, âSo did you say it or not!â
âWhat do you want!â
Benson Dragon was already impulsive, and back when he was abroad, local bosses had to treat him with courtesy.
Now a man living off a woman dared to reproach him?
âWhat would I want?â
Julius Reed lowered his head and straightened his cuffs, âI just thought, maybe I should discipline Mr. Thorneycroftâs servant on his behalf.â
Slap!
After he spoke, he swiftly slapped Benson Dragon across the face.
âYou!â
Benson Dragon, holding half of his face, glared at Julius Reed angrily.
âWhat about me?â
Julius Reed shrugged his shoulders and looked to Fabian Percival, âMr. Thorneycroft, you know very well whether he said it or not. If you think he didnât, hit me back!â
He pointed to his own cheek, âDonât be shy.â
âWatch your mouth!â
Fabian Percival took a deep breath and said sternly.
âYes, Mr. Thorneycroft.â
Benson Dragon glanced resentfully at Julius Reed, his eyes filled with venom.
