Chapter 11
The Love From Vengeance
he robber hastily shrugged off Lukeâs hand and pointed his gun at him again. âHey, donât think iâm playing around!â
âCalm down, buddy. There is no need to get so worked up. Just tell me the amount, and Iâll give it to you. Letâs wrap up this conversation quickly.â
âSorry, but I donât operate that way.â
âWell, thereâs always a first time for everything.â Luke maintained his plastic smile.
âShut the hell up and get down on your knees!â The robber growled, and Luke slowly complied, hands raised. âSame goes for all of you! Get down on your knees!â
Everyone began to follow his orders, even his accomplices. We all knelt down.
âExcept you guys, you morons!â The robber scolded his men.
âRight, right,â they responded, promptly standing back up.
I noticed one of the robbers staring at me. Uncomfortable, I averted my gaze. Yeah, I felt totally uneasy the moment these black dogs barged into the hall.
The leader of the gang focused on Luke; the gun was still trained on him. âYou cherish your life, donât you?â
âIs that a question you really want to ask?â Luke replied playfully. âCan we just cut to the chase?â
âIâm the one in charge here!â The robber shouted immediately.
But youâre not the one with the money,â Luke taunted him.
âYou better be grateful I havenât blown your brains out.â
âWell, if you kill me, how are you going to get your hands on the money?â Luke smirked sarcastically.
âI donât know, but Iâll be satisfied seeing your lifeless body on the floor.â
Andreâs phone started ringing, catching the attention of the robber. But with our hands raised, he couldnât turn off the phone.
âWhose phone is that?â the robber asked, locating the source of the sound. He approached us, annoyed, and struck Andreâs head with his gun.
Andre collapsed, and as he slowly got up, the robber hit him again, causing him to lose consciousness.
âAndre!â I cried out in fear, catching the robberâs attention.
âWell, well, well, who do we have here?â The robber slowly spoke, forcefully holding my chin. âYouâre going to be a good one in bed.â
How repulsive! I glared at him, filled with disgust. He better keep his disgusting thoughts to himself.
âYouâre going to be a real treat.â The robberâs finger moved along my neck, about to reach for my chest, but I bit him so hard that he yelped in pain.
âYou crazy bitch!â He gave me a hard slap, and I have to say, it was really, really painful. âJust wait until I deal with you!â
âHow dare you lay your filthy hands on her?â
11 CRAZY CONVOS LUKEâS POV This goddamn robber turned around, and the look I gave him was way out of this world. You could call it a death stare, and if looks could kill, I was pretty sure this guy would have been dead by now.
There was no doubt that I didnât like Ariel, but what he did back there really displeased me. I didnât know, but I couldnât just stand and watch her in pain.
âWhat did you just say?â The robber asked as the both of us eventually stood up. âI can see you have some fucking nerve, huh?â
âIf you want money, Iâll give you money, but donât you dare touch her,â I told him, calm and threatening at the same time. I narrowed my eyes down to Ariel, and she just gazed at me in confusion. I know she must be wondering why I was helping her out, and I too was wondering the same thing.
The robber laughed in disbelief. âYou know I can shoot you right now, donât you?â
âYou think Iâm scared of dying?â I came back. âIâve had a lot to lose all these years. Donât think that I value my life that much.â
âOh, so you want me to kill you?â
âI donât wish for that, but if you want to, go ahead. But let me just make something clear to you: donât you dare touch her.
âWhy?â The robber glanced at Ariel and set his eyes back on me. âIs she your wife?â
âYou ask too many questions.â I generated a pungent smile as I arched an eyebrow. âDonât you think itâs high time you shut up?â
His men pointed their guns at me immediately, but he lifted his hand up, signaling them to halt. They all took their guns down.
âArenât you scared of me?â The robber inquired.
âIf I were scared of you, do you think I would be saying all these things right now? Or do you think iâd be standing on my feet while everyone is on their knees?â
He laughed inwardly. âI like this boldness of yours.â
âI donât want you to.â
âYou know I have a gun loaded with bullets.â
âI already made it clear to you that Iâm not scared. So to hell with you and your weapon.â
âOh, that does it!â He snarled and pointed his gun at me. âIâm sending you straight to hell! Tell the devil I said hi.â
âI donât think thatâs going to be necessary.â I gave him the usual spurious smile.
âWhy do you say so?â He asked. And with his tone, it was clear he was confused.
âI donât know.â I shrugged. âI just have the feeling that youâll be the one paying the devil a visit.â
âHe made a sound with his gun, like he was fully prepared to pull the trigger. âOh, you son of aâ¦
âFreeze!â The police showed up and began firing bullets at the robbers, leading to a shootout.
Taking advantage of the situation, I quickly punched the robber, who was standing close to me. I elbowed his belly, kneeled his balls, and snatched his gun from him.
After throwing the gun away, I advanced towards Ariel and grabbed her hands. âCome on, letâs get out of here.â
âI canât leave Andre here.â She tapped Andre to wake him up, but the man was still unconscious.
âAre you out of your mind? You could get killed.â
âItâs not like you care about me anyway,â she muttered.
âSeriously?â
âJust leave me alone!â She pushed my hand away. âThere is no way Iâm following you.â
âYouâd rather die?â I couldnât help but feel concerned about her.
âIf thatâs the case, then so be it. But walking through that door with you? Not happening.â
âJust kill this pride of yours and follow me.â I grabbed her hands again, and she struggled for me to let go, but my grip was too tight.
âI said let go!â She bawled. And then a bullet was fired in our direction. But we were lucky it hit neither of us, and the insensible guy was lucky too.
âSee what Iâm saying?â I gave Ariel a knowing look.
âIâm still not following you.â She still decided to be stubborn.
I breathed out deeply. âOkay, that does it.â I got up and carried her promptly.
âLet me go!â She hit my back, but I held her tight, and that was how I carefully made my way out of the hall, carrying her on my shoulder.
The moment we were outside, she bit my shoulder an hard that I had to let go of her.
âYou scumbag!â She was about to hit me, but I captured her hand. She attempted to use the other hand to hit me as well, but it was still the same result. I was now holding both of her hands.
âLet me go!â Ariel snarled, humping to get her hands off mine, but I refused to let go.
âJust calm down, will you?â Theld her tight while she continued to use all of her might so she could cease my grip. And the next thing that happened? She landed on my chest. I didnât even know how, but I was quick to wrap my hands around her.
She finally ceased her bootless efforts, and the both of us are now looking into each otherâs eyes. She was just as beautiful as he was five years ago. And yes, I was captivated by her glamour, ensnarled in her charm, and lost in her comeliness. Of course, she was one pretty lady, but there was no way I would lose my heart to her.
While the shootout continued, we didnât take away the gaze from each otherâs eyes. I didnât know what was going on, but it seemed like something had taken full control of me.
Ariel slowly looked down at my arms, which were wrapped around her waist. She set her
