Chapter 113
The Love From Vengeance
113 CREEPY CONVOS ARIELâS POV This was a moment of pure silence between the two of us, even though the song played with other people dancing to it. Quite remarkable, galvanizing, relishing it ail in my head. Luke was still staring at me, and just when our lips became extremely close, he stirred his face backwards, standing upright the next second. The same thing happened to me.
The music came to an end, and he eventually took his hands off me, averting his gaze, and I had to do the same. But I still glimpsed at him, and although he wasnât looking, I knew he carried out the same action. You could say it was a mutual feeling at the moment.
âThanks for coming,â I told him softly.
He finally glanced at me, and a smile popped up on his countenance. âDonât thank me. I came here for the fun.â
I couldnât help but laugh softly. âAnd youâre having fun, right?â
âWell, not yet,â he answered, looking around. âThis place is actually beautiful. So your friend is going to be dwelling in New Haven from now on, is that not so?â
âYes, he sure is. Itâs a great thing, isnât it?â I smiled, also looking around.
âOf course it is,â Luke responded, his hands fixed on his waist. âAnd I guess his company is going to be a competition in this business stuff.â
I looked at him, knowing where this talk was heading. âOkay, letâs not go there.â
He chuckled, understanding my words. âIâm just saying the truth, though. But Iâll do as you say.â
âI appreciate that.â I smiled at him.
His phone began to ring, so he took it out of his pocket. âI need to answer this call.
I nodded. âItâs okay. You donât have to ask me for permission.â
âI wasnât asking you for permission,â he uttered annoyingly, and he answered the call. âYes, Mr.
Rolence.â He walked away, talking on the phone. I did nothing but look at him as he became a little bit far from me.
I saw Hannah moving in my direction. She was looking pretty in a sparkling âdress with tiny crystals on, navy blue in color. What made this even more awesome was that she didnât have glasses on, and her makeup was one of a kind.
She looked absolutely different.
But now, I was wondering why she didnât have my children by her side. Elizabeth told me they were with her and that they had gone to buy some things. I wondered what they went ahead and purchased.
Itâs not important anyway, The question right now is: Where were those adorable twins?
âAriel, youâre looking really pretty.â Hannah smiled widely. âI wasnât wrong when I said you were going to look like a goddess, putting on this dress.âShe gave me the perfect gesture, still smiling.
âOh, come on now, the only goddess here is you,â I complimented her, grinning back. âWhere are the both of them?â
âWho?â She gave me a puzzled face.
âLukel and Janice. Elizabeth told me they were with you.â
âOh, right,â she responded, stretching her tone. âYeah, that is correct. I had them with me.â
âSo, where are they now?â I asked in curiosity, raising an eyebrow.
âThereâs no need to worry, okay? Theyâre in safe hands.â
âYou do know how important my little babies are. They mean the whole world to me.â
âI know, Ariel,â she said, fixing both of her hands on my shoulders. âThatâs why I told you theyâre in safe hands.â
âAnd by safe hands, what do you mean by that?â
âTheyâre with Felix,â she revealed.
Now, I made the confused face. âWhoâs Felix?â
âMy boyfriend,â she answered, smiling broadly. âHeâs handsome, nice, and friendly. And your children love him so much.â
I looked at her for a moment. âAre you sure about that?â
âWhy would I be lying?â She asked, and I shrugged. âTheyâve been spending the day with Felix, and they just donât want to leave his side.â
âWow, is that so?â I crossed my arms, smiling at the comment.
âYes. But theyâll be here in the next ten minutes, I think. Let me text Felix and tell him that we have a worried mother around here.â
I couldnât help but laugh. âYeah, a worried mother,â I whispered to myself.
113 CRCEPY CONVOS âDonât worry, maâam. Your babies will be here before you know it,â she assured 1. me.
I sighted Mason standing upstairs, and he was staring down at me. The look on his face was the opposite of friendly, and while people were smiling, he was busy frowning. I knew what he was thinking.
But to hell with his thoughts. He always wanted to bring the frightened side out of me whenever he noticed I was in a joyful mode.
He walked away, looking like the villain that he was. I just stood still, glaring at him as he moved further and further. My hate for this guy right now is so intense. If I were someone whose heart was a stone, I would have ripped his goddamn head off by now.
LUKEâS POV I just finished talking on the phone, putting an end to my business call. I glanced around, looking at everyone as they got involved in divergent conversations. I suddenly felt someoneâs hand on mine, and before I could discern who it was, I was dragged out of my current position.
I forcefully put an end to this personâs grip, and at that moment, I realized it was Lucifer, that goodâforâ
nothing fool. After what happened between the both of us, he still had the nerve to come close to me. I see he wanted to get his heart ripped out or something.
âYou?â I glared at him, as he still had that mask on. I didnât know why he never took that off his face.
But I couldnât care less. âWhat are you doing here?â
âI came to the party. Iâm only a guest here, just like you,â he replied, with his irritating tone.
Just by glancing at him, I recalled our last encounter. And with those thoughts, I wanted to seize his shirt and slam him to the floor. I wanted to pull his brain out of his head and pluck his eyes out. He deserved nothing but torture after messing with me. And I was glad I didnât even give him the money he requested. He was a sick idiot.
âThis might not be my party. But I swear, Iâm going to kick your ugly ass out of here,â I stated bitterly.
âI havenât come here for this, Luke Reynold.â
âIf youâve come to demand money again, Youâre sick in the head.â
He laughed. âI do not need your money. I just came to warn you. Because the* person after you is not far from here.â
âKeep your useless warnings to yourself.â
âTonight, someone is not going to come out of this party alive,â he mentioned.
âWhat do you mean by that?â
âIt might be you, Luke Reynold. It might be someone precious to you or someone you know. But you just have to know that tonight, there will be trauma.â
His words echoed in my head. âAre you really serious about this?â
âI have better things to do than to come here and say false things. So you just need to be careful tonight. You can keep your eyes open if you want.â
He wanted to go, but I stopped him. âWhy are you doing this? Why are you giving me all this information?â
He laughed at my question and walked away. But now, my mind was not at ease.
