Chapter 178
The Love From Vengeance
178 MONSTER ARIELâS POV on my way to Andreâs company, my mind was racing with millions of thoughts and thousands of questions, since I was extremely worried at the moment. Panicking as hell, hoping for no hope to be lost.
My phone started ringing. I didnât even want to glance at it, but I just decided to, and it was a good thing I did that. Mason was the one who was calling. Now I just hoped that he wanted to put an end to all of this madness, just like the scenes that took place in my goddamn imagination.
After parking my car, I answered the phone call. âMason, you son of a âHush Ariel. You donât have to be so rude to me. A while ago, you were begging for your childrenâs safety.â
âYes, so please tell me, where are my kids? Whereâs Lukel and Janice?â
âHold on a minute; I thought you wanted to start this conversation in a rude way. What happened? You changed your mind?â
âI donât have time for all this, Andre.â
âOh, you do, Ariel. You have plenty of time for this. Well, not plenty of time, actually. Since your adorable twins will beâ¦â He paused right there.
âWill it be what?â I asked immediately. âDonât tell me youâre planning to murder them.â
âThat was actually the plan in the first place, since you refused to follow through with our plan.
âFor crying out loud, Mason, I canât do that to Luke. You can say Iâve fallen in love with him or whatever;
thatâs not my concern. I just canât see him go down like that.â
Mason chuckled, âYou became a fool for love,â
âWhat about you, huh?â
âIâm not a fool like you,â he said bitterly.
âYes, youâre not a fool. But youâre a monster, Mason. You became a monster for love, am I not right?
Since you blamed Lake for killing your girlfriend, you craved vengeance, and you had to turn into this coldâblooded monster.â
âOh, shut up!â He snapped.
âItâs the truth; you know that. You had to become so bitter all in the name of vengeance. Now you just Want to end the lives of two innocent children who had nothing to do with this.â
âThey are your kids!â
âYes, they are my children, and theyâre Lukeâs children as well. But that doesnât mean that you should kill them. They have nothing to do with this. If you want to hurt anyone, Luke and I are right.
here. You can let the little ones go.â
âHavenât you heard of stories where people have to face the consequences of their fatherâs actions? Itâs been happening since the dawn of time. Generations curse, parentsâ mistakes, so much shit, and now youâre telling me this? Come on, Ariel. You know Iâm not going to listen to any of your words.â
âThatâs because youâre a monster,â I spat. âYour heart is filled with nothing but darkness, and now you only want to do evil so you can be satisfied.â
âWow, thatâs actually nice, coming from the lady shit he did to her.â
Who wanted to ruin her exâhusband because of the âBut I didnât follow through with that shit in the end, did I?â I defended. âItâs because Iâm not a monster like you. Even when I wanted revenge, my heart had to stop me. Yes, Mason, my heart had to stop doing anything stupid. I wonât be able to live with myself if I decide to ruin Luke for good.â
âGo to hell, bitch!â Mason barked on the phone.
âYou tell me something, Mason. Would your lover want this right now? Would Sofie want to see this evil side of youâextremely heartless, not caring about other people? Would she want you to take the lives of two innocent children? Do you think sheâll be happy with you wherever she is right now?â
âDonât you dare mention her name? You donât know her.â
âYouâre right, I donât know her. But I know she can never be this heartless. She wouldnât want this evil taking place if she were still alive.â
âShut up, okay?!â Mason snapped.
âItâs the truth, Mason. Itâs the truth, and I just want you to change. Put an end to all of this, forget about vengeance, and move on. I believe Sofie will be happy with that.â
âIâve told you already; donât you dare mention her name.â
âYou need to change, Mason. Please do this for Sophie.â
but âShut up! Shut up! Shut up! Just shut up, Ariel! Stop calling her name like you know her! Youâre crazy, guess what? You can never be crazy like me. You want to know where your children are, right? Theyâre in Lukeâs company, and theyâre probably in hell right now!â
âIn hell? What are you talking about?â
âGo see for yourself,â he said before ending the call.
I slowly dropped my phone on the other seat. They were in Lukeâs company. Why would Mason carry them to that location? I didnât know, but I got to head there right now.
I started my car and began to drive. I drove for minutes, still thinking about Lukel and Janice. At the time I gave birth to them, the moment when they just came into the world was a moment of tears of joy, with Andre by my side. I had promised to take good care of them. It was an oath I made that I wouldnât let anything bad happen to them. So what the hell was happening today? Things had gone TEMONSTER out of hand a long way, a night filled with terror. The rain had stopped for quite a long time now, but this terror was still falling on me, and it was filling my head with billions of negative thoughts.
Lukel and Janice were my everything and my favorite people in the world. The angels have a delightful smile, joyful faces, and a lovely demeanor. Why would I let anyone harm them? If only I was a god.
I stopped my car, arriving at Lukeâs company, and I quickly got out. The building was on fire, and I had to gasp in horror. Lukel and Janice were both in that building, and it was burning like hell. Oh fuck, what am I going to do now? I hope theyâre still fine in there.
How could they be fine? The intense heat, the massive fire. Hell no, I needed to do something as soon as possible. I got into the crowd, forcefully moving past them. It was really hard, but I made my way to the front anyway. A motherâs love for her children can never be taken for granted. She would do anything to protect them, even if it meant giving up her own life. And thatâs what I was about to do.
As I was about to advance towards the building, someone held my hand, pulling me back. I turned around, and it was Jack.
âMrs. Reynold? What are you doing?â He queried.
âLet go of me. My children are in there!â
âYour children.â His expression turned into a puzzled one. âAre you trying to tell me that youâre the mother of the two children who happen to be in the building?â
âYes, now let go of me,â I replied.
âSorry, Mrs. Reynold, but Iâm not going to let you get hurt. Your husband already went inside to save.
them.â
