Chapter 246
The Love From Vengeance
246: LET THE HEART DECIDE ARIELâS POV âLook, Ariel, things have really been tough. Weâve faced a lot of obstacles, and weâve gone through terrible times that almost caused us to die. I finally found love, that wonderful passion in all those moments.â
Luke held my hand, looking into my eyes. âForget about everything else, and let your heart decide.â
I was still staring at him, speechless. Our hands were still together, and he didnât take his eyes off me one bit.
âLuke, you need to calm down.
âWhat do I have to calm down for? I love you, Ariel. You love me; what are we waiting for? Or is there someone youâre afraid of? Is there someone threatening to end your life?â
âNo, thereâs no one.â
âSo, why do you keep on wasting time?â Whatâs the need for hesitation?
âI donât know, Luke. I just donât feel like it right now. My mind keeps telling me that it would be a good idea to get back together with you.â
âSo, youâre not going to do that? Your mind canât be right all the time.â
âYeah, I know. But I still donât give a fuck.â
âCome on, Ariel, justâ¦â
A group of musicians materialized, setting up their instruments at the other end of the park. They were dressed in colorful clothes and had a variety of instruments with them. A few children had already gathered around, their curious eyes fixed on the musicians.
âAriel, life can get tough. I donât know whatâs going on in your mind, but please, you just have to return.
I promise you, Iâll protect you. I wonât let anyone touch you or your daughter.â
âItâs not about protection, Luke.â
âI know, but Iâm just making a promise to you.â
I took a deep breath and looked at him. âLuke, I canât just forget everything and jump back into a relationship with you. Itâs not that simple.â
âBut we love each other, Ariel. Thatâs all that matters.â
Before I could respond, the musicians started playing their instruments, and a beautiful melody filled the park. The childrenâs attention was captured, and they all ran towards the musicians, dancing and clapping along to the music. Janice was among them, relishing the moment.
Luke and I couldnât help but smile at the sight. The atmosphere had suddenly changed, and it was as if all our worries and problems had disappeared. The music was so enchanting I couldnât resist swaying to the beat.
âCome on, Ariel,â Luke said, standing up and extending his hand toward me. Letâs dance.â
I hesitated momentarily, but then I looked into his eyes and saw their sincerity and love. Still, I didnât want to dance.
âWhat are you waiting for? Letâs dance,â he told me, his hand still extended towards me.
âIâm not in the mood.â
âYou donât have to be in the mood, sweetheart.â
âOh really?â
âYes,â he replied. âBut if thatâs the case, Iâll put you in the mood.â
âHow?â
âJust take my hand.â
I hesitated for a moment, but I finally took his hand, and he pulled me closer to him.
âSee, Ariel. Weâll be about to have a wonderful time.â
âI never had such a great moment with you before.â
âThatâs why weâre about to enjoy ourselves,â he said as we continued to sway to the music.
âOuch,â he said after I stepped on his foot.
âIâm sorry.â I apologized.
âWhy are you saying sorry?â
âBecause I hurt you,â I responded.
âNo, you didnât.â He grinned.
âOh, is that so?â
âBut youâre going to hurt met you refuse to come back to me youtrete I couldnât help but laugh. âI see what youâre trying to do here.â
âI wasnât hiding anything. I want you.â
As we danced, the musicians moved from one song to another, and the chisteen continued to dance and sing along. At that moment, i forgot about all the pair and hurt Luke had caused me. I just focused on the present, the music, and his countenance. Have I ever mentioned that he has a ravishing visage?
I guess not, well, he does.
âYou want to know something, Ariel? I never thought I could feel this way toward you. You remembered how I used to hate you, right?â
âYes, thereâs no way Iâm going to forget that.â
âIâm sorry for everything, Ariel. I know I hurt you, and I regret it every day. But I promise to make it up to you and never let you go.â
âYouâve made so many apologies concerning this. And Iâve forgiven you, alright?
âThen why are you wasting time?â
âThat I have no answer to. But you just have to know that Iâm not ready to get back to you.â
âCan I ask you a question?â
âGo on.â
âDo you plan on getting into a relationship? Or do you just want to keep on living your life like this?â
âThat I do not know. Letâs just see what the future holds.â
The music continued to play, and we danced, enjoying the wonderful tunes. I had no idea who these guys were, but they came to bring joy to everyoneâs hearts. Simply consider the manner in which that lovely daughter of mine is beaming that grin. Itâs so nice to see her happy.
The songs finally came to an end, and the musicians packed their instruments. before leaving.
Luke still had a hold of me as my hands were wrapped around his neck. No words. were spoken, just a gaze that spoke a billion things, and passion was included.
âMommy, Daddy!â Janice ran to us. âThank you so much for today.â
Luke and I quickly let go of each other.
My pleasure, sweetheart,â Lake told her, smiling down at her.
A magician was performing tricks for a group of kids as we were about to leave the park, which caught Janiceâs attention. She tugged on my arm excitedly. Mommy, can we go and 1 looked at Luke, who nodded with a smile. âOf course, letâs go see some magic.â
to the small crowd gathered around the magician. He wore a We made our the magician?â
top hat and a long, flowing cape, giving off a mysterious aura. Janice squeezed in between us, her eyes wide with anticipation.
âWelcome, my dear audience, to a world of wonder and enchantment,â the magician announced, his voice commanding attention. âPrepare to be amazed and mesmerized by my magical abilities.â
He began his performance by pulling out colorful scarves and making them disappear, producing coins out of thin air, and even turning a simple handkerchief into a dove. Janice was in awe, clapping and cheering after every trick.
But what caught my attention were the magicianâs words. He spoke of magic as if it were real as if he truly had the power to make the impossible possible. It reminded me of the songs we had just heard, with lyrics filled with magic and fantasy. Love and passion.
I looked at Luke, and he gave me a knowing smile. We both knew that Janice was too young to understand the difference between reality and fantasy, but it didnât matter at that moment. She was enjoying herself, caught up in the magic of it all.
