Chapter 360
The Love From Vengeance
360: GEMS OF AFFECTION ARIELâS POV Tessa grinned. âLetâs start with earrings. A pair of statement earrings would really elevate your look.â
Nodding in agreement, I followed her lead as we began sifting through the selection of earrings. Gold, silver, pearlsâthere were so many options to choose from. Finally, Tessaâs fingers landed on a pair of exquisite diamond drop earrings, their brilliance catching the light.
âThese are perfect,â she declared, holding them up for me to see. âTheyâll add just the right amount of glamour without overpowering the dress.â
I admired the earrings, and the thought of wearing them flashed through my head. âI love them.â
With the earrings chosen, we moved on to the next task: finding a necklace to complement them. After careful consideration, we chose a delicate diamond pendant on a fine chain, which perfectly complemented the dressâs intricate detailing with its understated elegance.
âAnd for bracelets?â Tessa pondered, scanning the displays once more.
I spotted a slender diamond bangle nestled among the other accessories; its simple yet sophisticated design caught my eye. âWhat about this one?â I suggested it, pointing it out to her.
She nodded in approval. âPerfect. It ties everything together beautifully.â
With our selected accessories, I felt a sense of satisfaction. âI canât thank you enough, Tessa. You have such an eye for fashion.â
She beamed at me. âIt was my pleasure, Ariel. Youâre going to look absolutely stunning tonight.â
âWell, thank you.â I blushed at the compliment.
âWell, well, well, who do we have here?â Simon approached us, walking slowly in our direction. âIf it isnât Ariel Walker and her worthless friend,â
He paused, then asked Tessa, âWhatâs your name again?â
âOh, shut up!â She snapped at him. âWhat are you doing here?â
âI came here to get myself some clothes, just like you,â he answered with a plastic smile.
360 GEMS OF AFFECTION âLook, Simon. I know youâve come here to play your vile games. But I donât have time for this nonsense right now.â
His smile faltered for a moment before he regained his composure. âOh, is that so? And here I thought I was just enjoying a leisurely shopping trip,â
I could feel the tension cracking in the air as Simonâs gaze shifted to me. He took a step closer, his expression turning menacing, âBut you, Ariel, always seem to find yourself in the wrong place at the wrong time,â
1 stiffened, instinctively taking a step back. âThereâs no need for all this, Simon. We can just go now and pretend like none of this ever happened.â
He quickly captured me, with his grip tightening on my hand and his fingers digging into my skin. âDonât play dumb with me, Ariel. âYou know exactly what you did, disrespecting my family like that.â
I winced at the pain in my hand. âLet go of me,â I demanded, attempting to pull my hand free from his grasp.
But Simon only tightened his grip, his eye glowing with malice. âYou will pay for what youâve done,â he hissed, his voice low and dangerous.
I shook my head defiantly, refusing to cower in the face of his threats. âI wonât let you go on with this. Let go of me now.â
With a frustrated growl, Simon released my hand, his gaze narrowing in fury. âFine,â he spat, taking a step back. âBut donât think this is over, Ariel. You havenât heard the last of me.
And the moment he stormed off, I let out a shaky breath, feeling a rush of relief wash over me. Turning to Tessa, I met her gaze. âLetâs get out of here,â I said, my voice trembling slightly.
Her expression was filled with concern as she nodded in agreement. âAbsolutely. Come on, Ariel. Weâll go somewhere else.â
Linking arms with Tessa, I followed her lead as we hurried away from the spot, leaving behind the echoes of his threats and the lingering sense of unease.

â
âNot just any jewelry shop, but one of the most expensive in New Haven.â
âLuke, you shouldnât have.â
I chuckled. âI want to buy you something special.â
Her eyes widened, and she let out a small gasp. âReally? You donât have to do that, Luke.â
âI want to.âPlease, let me show you how much you mean to me,â I said, taking her hand and leading her inside.
The store was filled with sparkling diamonds, glittering gold, and shining silver. Harrietâs eyes darted around, taking in all the beautiful pieces. It was clear that she was in awe.
âSo, what kind of jewelry do you like, Harriet?â I asked her with a smile.
She paused for a moment, looking at all the options. âIâve always loved earrings,â she finally said.
I nodded and walked over to the earring section. Harrietâs eyes widened as she saw the variety of designs. âThese are all so beautiful,â she said, looking at me with a grateful smile.
I couldnât help but feel proud of myself as I picked out a pair of diamond stud earrings for her. âThese will look amazing on you,â I said, handing them to her.

Harrietâs eyes widened as she saw the beautiful bracelets. âLuke, this is too much,â she said, looking at me with a mixture of love and surprise.
âNothing is too much for you, Harriet,â I replied, picking out a delicate silver bracelet with a heart charm.
I helped her put on the bracelet, and she looked at me with so much happiness in her eyes. Thank you, Luke. Youâve made me the happiest girl in the world,â she said, giving me a kiss on the cheek.
I hugged her tightly, feeling overwhelmed with love and joy. This was the perfect way to show Harriet how much she meant to me. And seeing her so happy made it all worth it.
âYouâll go to the party with me, right?â I grinned at her.
