Chapter 37
The Love From Vengeance
37 SORRY CHANGES NOTHING LUKEâS POV Harriet could notice the anger on my face right now, burning within me like flames. And I could tell she was scared, but she wanted to act tough. I was not going to be blinded by her desirabic looks.
Still glaring at Harriet, I forcefully pressed her hand, which I had a hold of.
âOuuu,â she vocalized in pain. âLuke, what are you doing?â
âIâm just fulfilling your wishâmaking you scream.â I squeezed her hand harder.
âThis is not how itâs supposed to be.â Harriet struggled to cease my grip, but it was just too tight.
âThen how?â
âLet me go, and Iâll show you.â She tightly shut both of her eyes.
I didnât give Harriet a reply. But instead, I kept on inflicting pain on her.
âPlease Luke, let go of me!â Her scream only got louder, and I had to do as she said.
After letting go of Harriet, I grabbed her face, forcefully pressing her jaws. âNow listen, I donât want anything to do with you again. Donât think you can use your body to make me forget about everything you did.â
âI said Iâm sorry!â she spoke, with the words barely coming out of her mouth, since I was pressing her jaws like hell.
âSorryâs going to change nothing,â I spat bitterly. âYou tell me, if you throw a plate to the ground, causing it to shatter into peices. And you tell it sorry, is it going to be fixed? Is it going to get back to normal?â
âNo,â she answered lowly, barely audible.
âIs it?â I snarled, moving my face closer to hers, still pressing her jaws forcefully.
âNo!â Harriet screamed clamorously this time, with both of her eyes still closed. I thrust her visage backwards after that.
She stood still for a moment, trying to catch her breath. And seeing her face, the hatred grew more and more.
ARIELâS POV Mason and I exchanged a gaze, which lasted for some seconds. Of course I knew what he wanted to talk about, but would this guy even let me rest?
âSo what are you trying to say? That I shouldnât follow Andre?â I asked Mason, installing both of my hands on my waist.
âYes,â he answered coldly, dropping his phone on the table. âThis is important.
âImportant?â I blurted out, letting out a short sigh. âI know what you want to talk about. Canât that wait till when I get back?â
FSORRY CHANGES NOTHING âNo, no, it canât,â Mason replied, getting up. âYou might take too long, and Iâm afraid Iâll fall asleep, waiting for your lame ass.â
His last words caused Michael to look at him.
âWhat?â Mason asked Michael in an unfriendly tone, noticing how he was just staring at him.
âYou just disrespected her,â Michael answered.
Mason took a quick look at me, before fixing his gaze back on Michael. âSo what?â
âYouâre not supposed to do that,â Michael defended me.
âThis is unbelievable.â Mason couldnât help but laugh. âIt seems like you have no idea who youâre talking to.â
âI do. And donât start thinking too high of yourself,â Michael retorted.
âOh shut up!â Mason slammed the table with his fist. He was burning with rage, breathing heavily, glaring at Michael. âYou do not want to regret this.â
âWhat are you going to do?â Michael spat back.
âOkay thatâs enough!â I had to put an end to their little fight. Mason was insane, and I didnât want Michaelâs life to be in jeopardy.
Mason and Michael glared at each other, silent, yet burning with intense rage. And this was definitely not something I wanted.
âAriel, arenât you coming?â Andre screamed from outside.
I looked at Mason, and he raised his brows at me, faking a smile. Crazy how he changed that frowny expression in seconds.
LUKEâS POV âI donât see the need for you to still be standing there,â I told Harriet, still not taking my glare off her. âGet out.â I gestured toward the door.
âWhy the hate of all a sudden, Luke?â Harriet threw a dumb question at me. And I gave her a look that showed how stupid she was.
I didnât say anything, but she continued to scrutinize me, waiting for an answer.
âThatâs a dumb question, you know.â I had to let her know. âAnd you better get the hell out of this room, out of this house. Just taking a look at your face, makes me sick.â
âThis is exactly what Iâm talking about,â she uttered and continued, âA love you claimed to have for so many years, is going to come to an end just like that?â
âYou donât have to keep repeating this, Harriet. You changed, so I decided to change as well.â
âI never changed!â
âSo that means youâve been sleeping with other men since day one.â I chuckled promptly, averting my gaze. âI should have known.
âYou made a lot of promises to me, Luke. Theyâre still in my head. And you couldnât fulfill any of them.â
âWell, itâs all because of you,â I retorted. âIf you had just remained loyal, Iâm pretty sure we wonât be like this right now.â
âThings can still change, Luke.â Harriet moved closer, and I took a step backward. âWe can still go back to the way we used to be.â
âImpossible,â I disagreed. âThere is no way Iâm getting back together with a whore like you.ââ
âDid you just call me a whore?â She asked, a broken tone.
âWas i wrong to call you that?â I spat. âYouâre the one who brought this upon yourself. Doing something so disgusting.â
âBut I said sorry.â
âSorry changes nothing!â I snapped right away, and gave her the usual glare. âSorryâs just a word, okay? And even if it did change situations, it wasnât going to be in this case.â
Harrietâs look wasnât nice, and she paid attention to every word I spoke.
âI gave you a chance, a chance to change your ways. But what did you do? You squandered it. And itâs not like those men are more handsome than me.â
âI donât see the need for this long talk. Just tell me, is your decision final? Do you really want to end our relationship?â
âIf Iâm not mistaking, I already ended this shit. I donât know why youâre still asking me this question. Itâs pretty stupid of you.â
âI see. So youâre telling me that you no longer want this ravishing body of mine?â she flaunted her figure, feeling so pround of herself.
âDead things donât come back to life. I hope you know that,â I told her. âThe dead decades and as time goes on, theyâre forgotten. So let me make things clear to you, Harriet. You are now a dead person in my world. And all the beautiful moments we had; I consider them to be nothing. I was only wasting my time with you, when there were other loyal women out there.â
âYouâre forgetting that Iâm the one who saved your life when we were little.â She crossed her arms, harking my mind back to the past.
âNo, no. Donât get things wrong around here. You only found a way we could escape. But because you were terrified, you refused to follow the way, but I did. I was the one who gathered the courage. So apparently, I saved myself.â
âI canât believe youâre saying all these.â
âAnd I canât believe youâre still wasting your time. You should be somewhere else, banged by those goodâforânothing men. Because thatâs clearly what youâre good at.
Harriet slapped me immediately.
