(Rudraksh)
A
shvik had just returned from the café and settled into his room, unwinding in a relaxed posture on the edge of his bed. Just then, Rishwik stormed in, his expression tight with frustration. He stood at the doorway, eyes narrowed, clearly upset, and directed a hard glare at Ashvik.
Rishwik: "Ye kya kiya aapne Ashvik bhai??"
(What have you done, Ashvik bhai?)
Ashvik glanced at Rishwik and immediately recognized the look in his eyes. He understood exactly why Rishwik was upset; it was written all over his face. There was no need for wordsâAshvik knew the reason behind his brother's anger.
Ashvik: "Rishi, not now yaar please."
Rishwik: "Not now then when?? Kyu kar rahe ho aap aise, meri best friend kitna pyaar karti hai aapse, aap kyu takleef de rahe ho use bhi aur khud ko bhi."
(Not now? Then when? Why are you doing this? My best friend loves you so much. Why are you causing pain to her and yourself too?)
Ashvik: "Mujhe koi takleef nahi hai."
( I'm not in pain.)
Ashvik turned his face away, attempting to hide the emotions flickering across his expression. He didnât want Rishwik to see the vulnerability he was trying so hard to conceal. Rishwik, however, noticed it all. With a resigned sigh, he moved closer, taking a seat directly in front of Ashvik. Gently, he reached out and held Ashvikâs hand, offering silent support, letting his presence convey the words he couldnât find.
Rishwik: "Bhai, Akshu ko koi farak nahi padta hai aapke background se aap jante hai ye baat phir kyu inkaar kar rahe hai??"
(Brother, Akshu doesn't care about your background; you know that. Then why are you rejecting her?)
Ashvik: "Jante hu vo kaise bhi apna legi bahaut pyaar karti hai mujhse."
(I know she would accept me no matter what. She loves me a lot.)
Rishwik: "Phir kyu tadpa rahe ho use?"
(Then why are you making her suffer?)
Ashvik: "Zindagi bhar use ek araam ki zindagi bitayi hai, uske baba one of the best industrialist hai, kitna naam hai unka, aur Shavi meri zindagi me aake kya kehlayegi, ek orphan ki biwi?? A person who doesn't have a surname??"
(Sheâs lived a life of comfort her whole life. Her father is one of the best industrialists, with a respected name. If Shavi comes into my life, what will she be called? The wife of an orphan? A person without a last name?)
After a moment, Rishwik released Ashvikâs hand and slowly rose to his feet.
Rishwik: "Na jaane aapke dimaag se kab ye kachra bahar niklega, shayad humare hi pyaar me koi kami reh gayi hogi tabhi aap hume apna mante hi nahi."
(I donât know when this rubbish will get out of your head. Maybe itâs our love thatâs lacking if you donât consider us your own.)
Ashvik rose to his feet, but as he did, Rishwik took a step back, creating a small distance between them. The sudden movement caught Ashvik off guard, and a flicker of hurt crossed his face.
Ashvik: "Rishi, tu janta hai ye baat nahi hai"
(Rishi, you know thatâs not it.)
Rishwik: "Yahi baat hai bhai, aur ab mujhse baat tabhi karna jab apne dimag se ye kachra nikal doge aur Akshu ko mana loge."
( It is, bhai. And only talk to me once you've cleared this junk from your mind and convinced Akshu.)
Rishwik left the room, his shoulders heavy with disappointment. He wasnât truly angry, but deeply hurt by Ashvikâs words. Calling himself an orphan felt like a dismissal of all the love and acceptance Rudraksh and Rishwik had shown him. They had never seen him as an outsider, and, in fact, had even suggested that he take on the Malhotra surname to make their bond even more official. But Ashvik, for his own personal reasons, had declined. Alone now, Ashvik sat back, feeling a familiar ache in his heart. His mind drifted, replaying memories from his pastâthe lonely days he had spent before finding this family, the moments of warmth and acceptance Rudraksh and Rishwik had shown him. Yet, somehow, he always felt a lingering hesitation, even from the family he cherished.
A few days later,
Rudraksh and Ruhanika had recently established a heartwarming new ritual in their daily lives. While he had always taken part in filling her hairlineâa cherished tradition between themâRuhanika had now taken it a step further by incorporating regular skin care into their routine. Rudraksh often wondered what brought her so much joy in these moments, but seeing her radiant smile as she diligently worked on his skin care was enough to win him over. He never questioned her choices; instead, he cherished these intimate moments where she sat on his lap, carefully applying various products and sharing tips she had learned. In this shared intimacy, Rudraksh found comfort and admiration, even if he didnât fully understand the significance behind the routine. He humorously obliged her insistence on wearing clothes she had chosen for him, which only deepened their bond.
Her influence had even extended to his work life. At her urging, he had begun going to the office regularly, although the men in the house made it a point to ensure someone was always around to support Ruhanika. This arrangement provided her with a sense of security. Ruhanika had formed a strong friendship with Savisha and Kritika, and the three women often spent their days gossiping and sharing stories. Ruhanika was soaking in the knowledge they imparted, often bursting with questions that Rudraksh patiently answered. Their interactions were filled with laughter and learning, creating a vibrant atmosphere in their home. However, as much as she enjoyed her time with them, there was an impending change. Kritika would soon have to return to London to manage her work commitments, which left Ruhanika feeling a mix of sadness and gratitude for the memories they had created together.
Ruhanika was doing well overall, but Rudraksh couldnât shake the feeling that she was too thin for his liking. Concerned for her health, he decided to consult their doctor, who suggested some blood tests to assess her overall well-being. Knowing how anxious Ruhanika was about medical procedures, especially with her fear of strangers and needles, Rudraksh faced the challenge of convincing her to go through with the tests. After much gentle persuasion and reassurance, Rudraksh finally succeeded in encouraging her to go through with it. To ease her anxiety, he devised a plan: the entire family would get their blood tests done on the same day. This way, Ruhanika wouldn't feel isolated or alone in facing her fears.
On the day of the tests, the atmosphere in the house was surprisingly light-hearted. Rishwik, Ashvik, and the rest of the family rallied around Ruhanika, joking and laughing to lighten the mood as they all prepared for the bloos tests. Rudraksh held her hand tightly, offering silent support.
After a long day at the office, Rudraksh made his way back home, his blazer slung over his arm. Kartavya had accompanied him for reasons known only to him, but the two were deep in conversation as they entered the house. Just as they were about to step into the living room, a chorus of cheerful giggles reached their ears, catching their attention. Rudraksh paused, glancing at Kartavya with a raised eyebrow, both curious and amused. They stepped into the room and were met with a delightful sight: Ruhanika was sprawled comfortably on the couch, laughing heartily as Ashvik and Rishwik playfully teased her. The playful banter and the sound of their laughter filled the air with warmth and joy. Rudraksh's heart swelled at the sight of Ruhanika's radiant smile and the happiness that surrounded her. It was a stark contrast to the morning's worries about her health.
Rudraksh: "What nonsense is this?"
Rudraksh addressed in his usual stern tone, one that usually commanded attention and respect. However, this time it didnât faze Ruhanika at all; she recognized that his words weren't directed at her. With a calm resolve, she continued with her task, focused and undistracted by the tension in the air.
Ashvik: "Dikhta nahi hai ice cream kha rahe hai hum."
(Canât you see weâre eating ice cream?)
Rudraksh and Kartavya exchanged looks of disbelief and disgust as they took in the scene before them. Ruhanika, Ashvik, and Rishwik were huddled around an ice cream tub, eagerly scooping the frozen treat with their hands instead of using spoons. The sight was chaotic and messy, with brown smudges of ice cream adorning their lips and cheeks.
Kartavya: "Little sunshine toh choti hai, tum dono kyu bandar Bane ho??"
(Little sunshine is a child, but why are you two acting like monkeys?)
Ruhanika: "Kya bhai sa, hum bhi bandar lag rahe hai??"
(Bhai sa, are you saying I look like monkeys too?)
Kartavya: "little sunshine, tumhe directly boli baat toh samajh nahi aati lekin indirectly boli baatein samajh jati ho tum??"
(Little sunshine, you donât understand when people speak directly, but you understand indirectly?)
Ruhanika: "Ji kya bhai sa??"
(What brother??)
With a playful grin, Ruhanika paused from licking her ice cream, her four fingers smeared with remnants of the sweet treat. She looked up at the others, curiosity sparkling in her eyes, she asked. Meanwhile, Kartavya and Rudraksh shot glances at Ashvik and Rishwik, their expressions a mix of amusement and mock disapproval as they too were busy licking their hands clean of ice cream.
Rudraksh: "such a unhygienic brats, galti karta hu tum dono ko ke pass Meri Ruhh ko chod ke, bigaad ke rakh doge use."
(Such unhygienic brats. Itâs a mistake leaving my Ruh with you two; youâll ruin her.)
Ruhanika: "kya ji aap hume unhygienic keh rahe hai??"
(Wait, are you calling me unhygienic?)
Rudraksh: "Nahi betu, tum toh bholi cutie ho par ye dono gadhe nahi."
(No, sweetheart, you're innocent; itâs just these two donkeys.)
Rudraksh leaned down and gently wiped Ruhanikaâs face and fingers with his handkerchief, his movements tender and attentive. Ruhanika beamed up at him, her eyes sparkling as if she had just received a great accomplishment for such a small act. With a playful giggle, she turned her attention to Ashvik and Rishwik, both of whom were sulking in their own corners.
Rishwik: "Angel, yaar has rahi ho hum pe, kabhi toh humara bhi sath dedo."
(Angel, youâre laughing at usâwon't you ever take our side?)
Ruhanika: "Hum toh hai aapke sath Rishi Bhai, par hume hasi aa gayi, vo aap dono bahaut ajeeb lag rahe hai, jaise bandar."
(I am on your side, Rishi bhai, but I couldnât help laughing. You two look so funnyâlike monkeys.)
The room erupted in laughter as everyone took in the sight of Rishwik and Ashvik, both looking comically ridiculous with ice cream smeared across their mouths. Their expressions, caught somewhere between sulky and embarrassed, only added to the hilarity of the moment. Ruhanika couldn't contain her giggles, and even Rudraksh cracked a smile, Kartavya chuckled and shook his head.
Ruhanika: "Aksh, bhai sa, aap dono baithiye hum pani latee hai."
(Aksh, bhai sa, you two sit; Iâll get some water.)
Kartavya: "Baadme Little sunshine, abhi hum aate thoda kaam hai."
(Later, Little sunshine. We have something to take care of right now.)
Kartavya and Rudraksh made their way toward the study, their laughter still lingering in the air as they exchanged playful banter. Meanwhile, Savisha and Kritika arrived, and Ruhanikaâs eyes lit up at the sight of them. Excitedly, she joined them, eager to enjoy their evening snacks together. After a little while, Ashvik and Rishwik decided to follow Kartavya and Rudraksh. They made their way to the study, joined by Amandeep, who sensed the shift in mood.
Amandeep: "Sir, the doctors are treating them, but they say if these tortures continue, they wonât survive."
Rudraksh: "I donât care; let them die."
All the five men were really angry by discussing the things related to Rathore's. The moment their names were mentioned, his temper flared.
Kartavya: "Calm down, Rudraksh. They canât die so easily; they still need to suffer."
Rishwik: "And theyâre not allowed to die just like that, bhai. main marunga unhe."
(I want to kill them myself.)
Ashvik: "Til til marna hoga un dono ko bhi aur unke maa baap ko bhi"
(They will have to suffer, bit by bit, as will their parents.)
All five men felt the tension rise as they delved into discussions related to the Rathore siblings. Anger simmered among them. Rishwik clenched his fists, Ashvikâs jaw tightened, and even Amandeep's usually calm demeanor was noticeably affected. Rudrakshâs fury was infectious, igniting a shared ire that filled the study. Kartavya was calm but his blood was boiling.
Rudraksh: "Jayvardhan ka kya haal Arora."
(Whatâs the condition of Jayvardhan, Arora?)
Amandeep: "Heâs on his deathbed, sir, but he canât die yet."
Rudraksh and Kartavya exchanged knowing smirks, a mischievous glint in their eyes as they recalled the torment they had inflicted on Jayvardhan.
Rishwik: "I still can't believe ki vo Vijaypratap Angel ki shadi us budde se karana chahta tha."
(I still canât believe that Vijaypratap wanted to marry Angel to that old man.)
Rudraksh: "Rishwikkkkk"
Rudraksh suddenly shouted, his voice cutting through the air like a sharp knife, and the room fell into an abrupt silence. All eyes turned to him, the weight of his anger palpable.
Rudraksh: "Aaj bol diya dobara mat bolna, Ruhh ko ye nahi pata chalna chahiye ki uski shadi mujhse nahi hone wali thi."
(You said it once; donât say it again. Ruhh must never find out that our marriage wasnât originally meant to happen.)
"Nahiiiii"
(Nooo)
A voice suddenly broke through their conversation, drawing their attention. They turned to see Ruhanika standing there, balancing a tray filled with glasses of water. All got tensed. With a trembling hand, she placed the tray aside and stepped closer to Rudraksh.
Ruhanika: "Aap jhuth keh rahe hai na?? Mazaak tha na ye?"
(Youâre lying, right? That was a joke, right?)
Rudraksh was too shocked to respond to Ruhanika. The hurt in her eyes pierced through him, leaving him momentarily speechless. He felt a swirl of emotionsâguilt, frustration, and a desperate need to reassure herâbut the words simply wouldnât come.
Ruhanika: "Bataiye na mazaak tha na aapka Vivah humse hi hone wala tha na??"
(Tell me it was a joke, that you were always meant to marry me, right?)
Rudraksh's gaze lingered on Ruhanika, and he couldn't help but notice the hurt shimmering in her eyes. he realization weighed heavily on him; he knew how much she trusted him, and the thought of letting her down was unbearable. Words escaped him, caught in his throat as he struggled to find a way to explain or justify the tension in the room. Before he could gather his thoughts, Kartavya interjected, sensing the growing discomfort.
Kartavya: "Haan little sunshine tumhari shadi Rudraksh se hi hone wali thi aur huyi bhi na, ye log bas mazaak kar rahe the."
(Yes, little sunshine, your marriage was always meant to be with Rudraksh. It did happen, didnât it? They were just joking.)
Rishwik: "ha Angel tum tension mat lo."
(Yes, Angel, donât worry.)
Ruhanika stepped closer and she gently held Rudraksh's hand. With a gentle shake, she looked him in the eye, her gaze steady and imploring.
Ruhanika: "Hum aapse sunna chahte hai, bataiye na, aap bas keh dijiye ye mazaak tha hum Maan jayenge, ek bhi sawal nahi karenge."
(I want to hear it from you. Just say it was a joke, and Iâll believe you. I wonât ask a single question.)
Rudraksh felt an immense ache in his heart as Ruhanika's grip tightened, her shaking him gently bringing him back to the moment. He could sense the urgency in her actions, a plea for him to open up, yet he found himself paralyzed by his emotions. The weight of unspoken words and the fear of hurting her kept him from gathering the courage to explain the turmoil swirling within him. The thought of lying to her was unbearable, especially knowing how much she relied on his honesty. He felt trapped between the desire to protect her feelings and the reality that he couldnât bring himself to speak untruths.
Ruhanika: "Kahiye na, bas ek baar keh dijiye hum Maan jayenge"
(Just say it once, and Iâll believe you.)
Ruhanika felt a familiar sting in her eyes as tears threatened to spill over, but she fought to hold them back. Despite the tumultuous emotions swirling within her, she remained hopeful, waiting patiently for her âAkshâ to speak. Now, tears shimmered in Ruhanika's eyes, and the sight was almost unbearable for everyone in the room. Her vulnerability struck a chord, deepening the tension as Rudrakshâs heart ached at the thought of causing her pain. The atmosphere shifted, heavy with unspoken words and emotions, as all eyes turned toward her, feeling a mix of concern and helplessness.
Ruhanika: "Aap chup hai iska matlab..."
(Your silence means...)
Ruhanika was now sobbing, her quiet tears spilling over and tracing down her cheeks, the pain she felt all too visible in her eyes. Rudraksh could see the depth of her hurt, and it pierced through his own turmoil. In that moment, his heart ached for her; he could feel the weight of her sorrow pressing against him. He reached out and gently cupped her face in his hands, wiping away a tear with his thumb.
Rudraksh: "Jaana, meri baat suno aur samj..."
(Sweetheart, listen to me and try to unders...)
Before Rudraksh could utter a word, he noticed Ruhanika shake her head, a sudden shift in her demeanor that sent alarm bells ringing in his mind. She moved slightly away from him, creating a distance that felt more like an abyss. In that instant, the tears she had been holding back cascaded down her cheeks, and Rudraksh's heart sank. He was taken aback, shocked that this was the first time she had not listened to him, the first time she had rejected his touch. The moment she withdrew, it felt as though he had lost her all over again; the profound sense of emptiness crashed over him like a wave, reminiscent of the pain he had experienced years ago. That familiar ache gnawed at his insides, tightening its grip as he watched her distress unfold before him.
The tears streaming down Ruhanika's face were unbearable, not just for him but for everyone in the room. Ashvik and Rishwik, too felt the weight of her sorrow. Ruhanika, overwhelmed by emotion, suddenly turned and ran from the room, her sobs echoing in the silence left behind. Rudraksh stood frozen, shock immobilizing him. He didn't even attempt to call after her, the words catching in his throat as he struggled to comprehend what had just happened. The air felt heavy with unspoken words, and all he could do was watch helplessly as she vanished, leaving a void that seemed to stretch endlessly before him. In that moment, the world around him blurred, and all he could feel was a desperate ache for the girl who had brought so much light into his life.
Rishwik: "Iâm sorry, bhai, I didnât lock the door, and Angel..."
Ashvik: "Rudraksh khada kya hai, chal jaake baat karte hai teddy se."
(Rudraksh, why are you standing there? Letâs go talk to teddy.)
As Ashvik instinctively moved forward, wanting to offer support to Ruhanika and Rudraksh, Kartavya quickly reached out and held his hand, stopping him in his tracks.
Kartavya: "Nahi Ashvik, vo is waqt kisi ki nahi sunegi, sivay Rudraksh ke."
(No, Ashvik. Right now, she wonât listen to anyone except Rudraksh.)
Ashvik: "Par bhai aapne dekha vo Teddy aise vo.."
(But bhai, did you see how hurt Teddy looked?)
Rishwik: "Haa Kartavya bhai, aapne dekha na Angel kitni hurt ho gayi hai, aur Rudraksh bhai jhuth nahi bol payenge usse, hum jaate hai."
(Yes, Kartavya bhai, you saw how hurt Angel is, and Rudraksh bhai wonât be able to lie to her. Letâs go.)
Kartavya: "Jhuth bolne ki zarurat bhi nahi hai, ek na ek din sach toh batana tha na."
(Thereâs no need to lie. The truth had to come out sooner or later.)
Amandeep: "I'm sorry, par Ruhi abhi itni samajhdar nahi hai ye sab cheezein samajhne ke liye."
(Iâm sorry, but Ruhi isnât mature enough yet to understand these things.)
Ashvik: "Exactly bhai, bachchi hai vo abhi, kaise sambhalegi vo."
(Exactly, bhai. Sheâs still young. How will she handle this?)
Kartavya: "Aise treat karte rahoge use toh humesha bachchi hi rahegi vo, aur itni na samajh bhi nahi hai vo jitna tum log samajhte hai, itne saal akele bitaye usne us narak me."
(If you keep treating her like a child, sheâll always remain one. Sheâs not as naïve as you all think; she spent so many years alone in that hell.)
Ashvik: "Bhai tab hum nahi the uske pass par ab hai na, main nahi dekh sakta aise apni behen ko dard me main ja raha hu."
(We werenât there for her back then, but now we are. I canât see my sister in pain like thisâIâm going.)
Rishwik: "Main bhi."
(Iâm coming too.)
Amandeep: "Main bhi."
(Me too.)
Ashvik, Rishwik, and Amandeep all began to turn and leave, however, Kartavya quickly stepped in again, raising a hand to halt them.
Kartavya: "Tum sabke jaane se little sunshine shayad Maan jaaye par phir vo Rudraksh pe bharosa nahi kar paayegi."
(If you all go, little sunshine might forgive you, but sheâll never be able to trust Rudraksh again.)
All of them halted at Kartavya's words, the gravity of his suggestion sinking in. Ashvik, Rishwik, and Amandeep exchanged thoughtful looks, recognizing the wisdom in his insistence.
Kartavya: "Batao yahi chahte ho?? Dono ka rishta kharab karna??"
(Is that what you want? To ruin their relationship?)
Rishwik's guilt gnawed at him as he realized that he had inadvertently brought up a topic that hurt Ruhanika, leaving her vulnerable and exposed. The atmosphere was heavy with unspoken feelings, and he couldnât shake the feeling that he had crossed a line. As he glanced at Rudraksh, he saw him standing there, frozen, his gaze fixated on the door as if searching for a way out of the turmoil they had created. Kartavya, sensing the turmoil within Rudraksh, placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder, grounding him in the moment. Rudraksh turned to meet Kartavyaâs gaze, and in that instant, his eyes reflected a storm of emotionsâpain, confusion, and an overwhelming sense of helplessness. It was clear that he felt torn between wanting to protect Ruhanika and being unable to express the right words that could mend the situation.
Rudraksh: "Bh...Bhai vo meri Ruh mujhe ch...chodegi toh nahi na???"
(Bh...Bhai, my Ruh...she wonât leave me, right?)
The fear of Ruhanika leaving was clearly visible in Rudraksh's eyes, a deep, haunting anxiety that made his heart race. The thought of losing herâof her walking away because he couldnât find the words to ease her painâwas unbearable. He felt as though the ground beneath him might give way, and he would be left standing alone in the silence.
Kartavya: "Kaisi baat kar raha hai Rudraksh, ja jaake samjha use, bharosa karti hai vo tujhpe."
(What are you saying, Rudraksh? Go talk to her. She trusts you.)
Rudraksh: "Vahi Jo Maine aaj Tod diya."
(Thatâs exactly what I just broke.)
Rishwik: "Aapki galti nahi hai bhai, ye sab meri vajah se hua hai."
(Itâs not your fault, bhai; this all happened because of me.)
Ashvik: "Stop blaming each other and just go talk to her. You know sheâs not emotionally strong; she might do something..."
Rudraksh, overwhelmed by the storm of emotions and the fear of losing Ruhanika, didnât fully register Ashvik's attempts to call him back. In a rush, he bolted from the room and headed straight for his own room. Meanwhile, the rest of the group moved into the living room, a sense of concern hanging in the air. Savisha and Kritika approached, sensing that something was amiss.
Savisha: "Avya, kya hua Ruhi bhaag ke gayi, udaas lag rahi thi."
(Avya, what happened? Ruhi ran out looking upset.)
Kirtika: "Rudraksh bhai bhi abhi gaye, kya hua hai??"
(Rudraksh bhai just went after her. Whatâs going on?)
Kartavya: "Little sunshine ko uski shadi ka sach pata chal gaya, she got to know Rudraksh was not the groom."
(Little sunshine found out the truth about her weddingâthat Rudraksh wasnât supposed to be the groom.)
Savisha: "Whattt??"
Savisha and Kritika stood frozen, their eyes wide with disbelief. They were well aware of the underlying issues and the silent agreement among the family members to keep Ruhanika in the dark, believing it was Rudrakshâs responsibility to share the truth with her when the time was right. However, none of them had anticipated the unfolding drama would take such an emotional turn. The tension in the room was palpable as each of them processed the weight of the moment. Savisha felt her heart race, torn between wanting to intervene and knowing they had to allow Rudraksh the space to find his voice. Kritika, too, felt a knot tighten in her stomach, wishing for the power to ease the pain written on Ruhanikaâs face. All they could do was stand by, silently supporting Rudraksh and Ruhanika.
Rudraksh came running into his room, his heart racing, but everything was as he had left itâcalm and orderly. The absence of Ruhanika made the emptiness feel even more pronounced, amplifying the turmoil within him. As the reality sank in, he felt a sharp, terrible pain in his chest, as if the weight of his fears was manifesting physically. His mind raced with thoughts of Ruhanika, recalling the hurt in her eyes and the desperation in her voice. He moved further into the room, feeling as though the walls were closing in on him. Each step he took seemed heavier than the last, echoing the regret of not being able to voice his feelings in time. The room, once a safe haven, now felt suffocatingly lonely without her presence, and he couldnât shake the dread that he might have lost her for good.
Rudraksh: "R..Ruhhh, betu kaha ho??"
(R...Ruhhh, where are you, sweetheart?)
Rudraksh felt a wave of fear wash over him, a primal dread that clawed at his insides. The thought that Ruhanika might leave him was almost unbearable. She had become his entire world; he could hardly breathe without her by his side. The name "Ruhh" held so much more meaning nowâit was a reflection of his heart and soul, intertwined with hers in a way that felt unbreakable. His frantic search of the room turned up nothing but emptiness, the silence amplifying his anxiety until he caught a faint sound emanating from the closet. His heart raced as realization struck himâRuhanika was inside. Bracing himself for whatever she might say, he steeled his resolve and stepped slowly into the dimly lit space. There she was, sitting on the floor, curled up tightly as if trying to disappear into herself. Her knees hugged close to her chest, and she buried her face within them, seeking solace in her own embrace. The sight of her, so vulnerable and distressed, tugged at Rudraksh's heart. He moved closer, noticing how her back was supported against the dressing table.
Rudrakshâs heart sank as the sound of Ruhanikaâs sobbing pierced through the thick veil of silence. Each choked gasp resonated within him, a painful reminder of her hurt. He could almost feel the weight of her anguish, knowing that she must feel betrayed, that the truth had shattered her world in an instant. The fear of losing her gnawed at him, an insatiable hunger that threatened to consume him whole. Rooted to the spot, he felt helpless as her sobs tore at his heart, like daggers stabbing deeply into his chest. He could endure any pain himself, but the sight of her cryingâhurt because of himâwas unbearable. It twisted his gut in knots, igniting a fierce determination to reach her, to pull her from the depths of her sorrow. With a trembling resolve, he finally moved, the fear in his heart driving him forward. He carefully lowered himself to the floor, positioning himself directly in front of her.
Rudraksh: "Ruhhh, betu suno meri baat"
(Ruhhh, baby, listen to me.)
Ruhanika kept her gaze fixed downward, her cries escalating as if each sob was a plea for understanding. Rudraksh felt a sharp stab of anguish in his chest; the sound of her pain echoed in his heart like a haunting melody. Unable to bear the sight of her suffering, he squeezed his eyes shut, wishing for a way to take her hurt away. With trembling hands, he placed one gently on her head, his touch a silent promise that he was there, that he would do everything to ease her pain. Slowly, Ruhanika lifted her head, and their eyes met. In that moment, the world around them faded, and all he could feel was the intensity of her sorrow. Her entire face was flushed, the same blush that would light up her cheeks when he complimented her now stained by tears. As she looked at him, he saw a whirlwind of emotions swirling in her eyesâhurt, confusion, and disbelief. Yet, despite everything, there was an undeniable flicker of trust lingering there. It bewildered him. How could she still hold onto that trust after he had concealed such a monumental truth from her? It made him question the very foundation of their relationship.
Ruhanika: "K...kya kya hum aap..ke man ki dulhan nahi hai?? Hum a..aapk..e aapke liye ga..lat l..adki hai?? Aap hu...me bhej de...nge kya phir se kahi??"
(Wh... why? Am... am I not the girl of your dreams? Am I... am I not the right girl for you? Are you... going to send me away... somewhere again?)
Rudrakshâs eyes widened in alarm as he realized the depths of Ruhanika's pain. He knew her well; she was an overthinker, and the last thing he wanted was for her to spiral into a web of negative thoughts. Though he was prepared to explain everything, the weight of the moment was heavy, and he could feel the walls closing in around them. He couldnât allow her to entertain such distressing notions about their love. In a swift motion, he pulled her into his embrace, holding her close as if he could shield her from the storm of emotions swirling within her. Ruhanika immediately wrapped her arms around him, burying her face in his chest as she let the tears flow freely. The warmth of his body enveloped her, but the sorrow in her heart made it hard for her to feel anything other than despair.
Before long, his shirt became damp with her tears, and despite his efforts to comfort her by rubbing her back, her sobs persisted, echoing the anguish he felt inside. Rudraksh tightened his hold on her, desperate to offer her solace, to remind her that she was not alone in this moment. As her cries continued, tears slipped from his own eyes, pooling in the fabric of his shirt. He felt utterly helpless, torn between the desire to protect her and the guilt of having hurt her in the first place. The weight of their shared pain pressed down on him, and he held her even closer, hoping that somehow his love could penetrate the darkness she was experiencing. In that intimate embrace, he vowed silently to himself that he would do everything in his power to mend what was broken, to heal her heart and restore the trust that had been shattered.
Rudraksh: "Shhh Ruhh, chup betu tabiyat kharab ho jayegi."
(Shhh, Ruhh, stay quiet, sweetheart, you'll get sick.)
Ruhanika: "humari shadi aapse hi huyi hai toh aapne vo sab kyu bola?? Kya hum aapko pasand nahi hai??"
(Weâre married, so why did you say all that? Do you not like me?)
Ruhanika's voice trembled as she asked, tears streaming down her cheeks. The weight of her emotions was so overwhelming that her body shook with each sob, her shoulders quaking as she struggled to find comfort. Rudraksh felt a pang of guilt pierce through him; he cursed himself for being the cause of her pain, wishing he could shield her from this hurt. As he rubbed her back gently, trying to offer some solace, he could feel her distress radiating from her like an electric current. Despite his attempts to soothe her, Ruhanika's mind was racing with anxious thoughts, refusing to allow her any semblance of peace. Each breath she took was labored, each whimper tugging at his heartstrings.
Ruhanika: "Hum a.. apki patni hai na?? Aap ma..nte hai na?? "
(I am... I'm your wife, right? Do you acknowledge that?)
Rudraksh hugged himself tightly, shutting his eyes as if trying to block out the world around him. The overwhelming emotions surged forth, and he felt the warm sting of tears escape his eyes, cascading down his cheeks.
Ruhanika: "Boliye na a..aap jo b..hi kahenge hum Maan le..enge bas sach bata dijiye."
(Please say something. Iâll believe whatever you say... just tell me the truth.)
Ruhanika felt a deep, aching pain in her heart, her mind racing with fears and uncertainties. The thought of Rudraksh not giving her the answer she desperately hoped for consumed her, and with each passing moment, her anxiety grew. As she thought of all the negative possibilities, her cries intensified, the raw emotion spilling over as she clung even more tightly to the idea of him.
Ruhanika: "Hu...m, aapki man pa..sand patni ban ke d..dikhayenge, bas kripa kar aap hu..me dur mat ki..jiyega."
(I... I'll become the wife you dream of, just please donât send me away.)
Rudraksh gently patted Ruhanikaâs back, allowing her to pour out all her feelings while he listened attentively. His fingers continued to rub soothing circles on her back, providing a steady comfort as she cried. Minutes passed, and gradually her sobs began to soften, the intensity of her anguish waning just a bit. As her cries subsided, Rudraksh softly patted her head, trying to encourage her to pull back and look up at him. However, Ruhanika resisted, shaking her head as she nestled deeper into his chest. She was seeking refuge in his embrace, unwilling to let go of the comfort he provided. Understanding her need for closeness, Rudraksh wrapped his arms more tightly around her, holding her protectively. In that moment, he knew she needed him to be there, to be her anchor amidst the chaos of her emotions.
Ruhanika: "N.. nahi hum nahi jayenge aapse Durr. Hu..me mat b..hejiye hum jee na..hi pa...."
(I... I donât want to go away from you. Donât send me a...away, I... I wonât be able to live...)
She couldnât complete her sentence as Rudraksh suddenly pulled her forcefully from his embrace and glared at her, but it wasnât anger that filled his gaze; it was a fierce protectiveness.
Rudraksh: "Ruhhhh"
He said it softly, his voice steady yet thick with emotion, revealing the pain that was evident in every word.
Rudraksh: "Dobara aisa kehna bhi mat Ruhh, kaha bhejunga tumhe main, kyu bhejunga khud se Durr?? Kya ab bharosa nahi hai mujhpe??"
(Donât you ever say that again, Ruhh. Why would I send you away? Why would I ever want to be without you? Do you not trust me anymore?)
Ruhanika: "Toh kyu kaha aapne ki humara Vivaah aapse nhi hona wala tha??"
(Then why did you say our marriage wasnât supposed to happen?)
Ruhanika looked up at Rudraksh, her voice trembling as she asked him her question, but her tears continued to flow, blurring her vision. The weight of her emotions was too heavy to contain, and each sob seemed to amplify her uncertainty. In response, Rudraksh reached out with tender care, gently wiping the tears from her cheeks with his thumb. His touch was soft yet reassuring, and he cupped her face in his hands, grounding her in the moment.
Ruhanika: "Bataiye na hume"
(Tell me, please.)
Rudraksh: "Pucho, jo puchna hai puch lo aaj sab sach bataunga tumhe, ek na ek din tumhe sab batane hi wala tha, tumhe andhere me rakhne ka Mera koi irada nahi tha, kisi jhuth ki buniyad me humara Rishta nhi rakhna chahta hu, isiliye puch lo aaj sab kuch."
(Ask me, ask anything you want today. Iâll tell you the truth. I was going to tell you everything one day, I had no intention of keeping you in the dark. I donât want our relationship to be based on lies, so go ahead, ask everything today.)
Ruhanika instinctively held onto Rudraksh's hand, which was gently cradling her cheek. The warmth of his touch provided her a sense of solace amidst her turmoil. With his other hand, Rudraksh moved back to her waist, drawing her even closer into his embrace. Feeling the safety of his presence, Ruhanikaâs other hand instinctively grasped the fabric of his shirt, anchoring herself to him as if he were her lifeline.
Ruhanika: "Aapne kyu kaha humara Vivaah aapse nahi hone wala tha??"
(Why did you say our marriage wasnât supposed to happen?)
More tears slipped down Ruhanikaâs cheeks as she clung tightly to Rudraksh, her heart heavy with the weight of her feelings. In that moment, she couldnât imagine her life without him; he was her world, her anchor in the storm of emotions that threatened to overwhelm her. The thought of losing him sent fresh waves of despair crashing over her, but even amid her sorrow, she felt a flicker of hope. Rudraksh, too, felt the intensity of the moment, recognizing the hurt reflected in her tear-streaked face. He knew he had to confront the truth, no matter how painful it might be. Today, he was resolved to lay everything bare between them. He understood that their love was profound, built on a foundation of trust, and he couldn't allow shadows of doubt to linger in Ruhanika's heart any longer.
Taking a deep breath, he steeled himself for what was to come. He loved her deeply, more than he had ever thought possible, and the prospect of spending his life with her filled him with both joy and fear. The fear of losing her, of shattering the connection they had forged, loomed over him like a dark cloud. Yet, he knew that remaining in the shadows, hiding the truth from her, would only lead to greater pain down the road.
Ruhanika: "Aapse nahi toh kisse hone wala tha humara Vivaah?? Aapko toh nima ne chuna tha na?? Phir kyu kaha aapne Aisa?"
(If it wasnât supposed to be with you, then who was I supposed to marry? Nima had chosen you for me, hadnât she? Then why did you say that?)
Rudraksh gently pulled Ruhanika onto his lap, his arms wrapping around her in a protective embrace as he continued to caress her cheeks softly. She felt a sense of security envelop her, and gradually, she became aware that her frantic cries and hiccups had subsided. Yet, the tears continued to stream down her face, a silent testament to the turmoil still brewing within her. As he held her close, Rudrakshâs heart ached for her pain. He brushed his thumb gently across her cheek.
Ruhanika: "Kya yahi kaaran hai aapne hume ek hafta akele chod diya tha kyuki aap hume pasand nahi karte?? Kya hum itne bure hai ki koi hume pasand nahi karta??"
(Is that why you left me alone for a week, because you donât like me? Am I so bad that no one likes me?)
Rudraksh closed his eyes, a wave of guilt washing over him as he recalled the past weekâthe days he had left Ruhanika alone in this house, battling her fears and insecurities without his support. Each moment of their separation felt like a weight he couldnât shake off, and now, being so close to her, the realization of his absence pierced through him like a knife.
Ruhanika: "Bataiye na chup kyu hai aap??"
(Tell me, why are you silent?)
Rudraksh slowly opened his eyes, his gaze settling on Ruhanika's tear-streaked face. Taking a deep breath, he composed himself, steadying his racing heart. He leaned forward and placed a gentle kiss on her forehead, a gesture filled with warmth and reassurance. As Ruhanika closed her eyes, a wave of relief washed over her, the tenderness of the moment soothing her frayed nerves. For Rudraksh, that kiss felt like coming home; it was a promise of safety and unwavering support. After a few moments, he pulled back slightly, his fingers caressing her cheeks with the utmost tenderness, as if he were cherishing a precious treasure.
Rudraksh: "Betu, kya ab bhi bharosa karti ho mujhpe?"
(Sweetheart, do you still trust me?)
Ruhanika: "Haa bahaut bharosa karte hai hum aap pe"
(Yes, I trust you a lot.)
Rudraksh: "Mera matlab hai, kya tum bharosa karti ho mujhpe isiliye nahi ki main pati hu tumhara balki..."
(I mean, do you trust me, not just because Iâm your husband, but...)
He was in the midst of expressing his thoughts when she suddenly interrupted him, cutting off his words mid-sentence.
Ruhanika: "Hum aap pe isiliye bharosa nahi karte kyuki aap pati hai humara, vajah hum baadme batayenge pehle humare sawalon ka jawab dijiye, Vada karte hai jo aap kahenge hum pure dil manenge."
(I donât trust you just because youâre my husband. Weâll discuss the reason later; first, answer my questions. I promise Iâll accept what you say with my whole heart.)
Rudraksh felt a wave of relief wash over him at Ruhanika's unwavering trust. In that moment, he knew he could finally share everything with her, laying bare the truth that had weighed heavily on his heart. Though he recognized her youthful innocence, he also saw the maturity that lay beneath itâa balance that made her even more captivating. He gazed deeply into her eyes, searching for the right words. His eyes locked onto hers, conveying sincerity and warmth, hoping to reassure her that he would never betray her trust.
Rudraksh: "Ruhh, jaana tumhari Nima ne kabhi tumhare liye koi ladka pasand nahi kiya tha."
(Ruhh, dear, your Nima never actually chose a groom for you.)
Ruhanika's eyes widened in disbelief.
Ruhanika: "par mami sa ne toh..."
(But Mami Sa had said...)
Rudraksh: "jhuth kaha tha un dono ne tumse, fayda uthaya tumhari masoomiyat ka."
(They both lied to you and took advantage of your innocence.)
Ruhanika was genuinely shocked, her wide eyes reflecting a mix of confusion and disbelief. She had always been so innocent, sheltered in her understanding of the world, that the thought of cruelty from her uncle and aunt never crossed her mind. It was as if a veil had been lifted, revealing a harsh reality she had been blissfully unaware of.
Ruhanika: "Jhuth bola humse, kisse Kara rahe the humari shadi??"
(They lied to me? Then who was I supposed to marry?)
Rudraksh: "Ha betu, jhuth bola tumse, nima ne kabhi kisi ko nahi chuna tumhare liye, vo toh is vishwas se is duniya se gayi ki tumhari zindagi me koi achcha insaan aayega."
(Yes, they lied to you. Nima never chose anyone for you. She passed away with the hope that a good person would come into your life one day.)
Ruhanika: "Kisse hone wali thi humari shadi aur aap kaise aaye vaha??"
(Who was I supposed to marry, and how did you end up there?)
Rudraksh gently placed Ruhanika's head on his shoulder, creating a cocoon of warmth and safety between them. He settled himself comfortably, leaning back against the rest of the vanity, his posture offering her the support she needed in that moment of vulnerability. As he did so, he instinctively began to pat her head softly, a soothing gesture meant to comfort her amidst the storm of emotions swirling around them.
Rudraksh: "Vijaypratap aur Sukriti Rathore ki beti Mahira Rathore usne Savisha bhabhi aur Kartavya bhai ke beech darar laane ki koshish ki, usme bhai pe ilzaam lagaya tha ki unhone uske sath galat kiya hai."
(Vijaypratap and Sukriti Rathoreâs daughter, Mahira Rathore, tried to create a rift between Savisha Bhabhi and Kartavya Bhai by accusing him of something wrong.)
Ruhanika clutched Rudraksh's shirt tightly, seeking comfort and reassurance in his presence. Her fingers curled around the fabric as if it were a lifeline, grounding her in the midst of her emotional turmoil. The warmth of his body against hers provided a sense of safety, reminding her that she was not alone in facing the unsettling truth.
Ruhanika: "Mahira didi sabko tang karti hai, vo achchi nahi hai."
(Mahira Didi causes trouble for everyone; she isnât a good person.)
Rudraksh's expression hardened as he realized that Mahira had caused Ruhanika trouble too. The thought sent a surge of protective anger coursing through him. He made a mental note that Mahira would have to answer for the pain she had inflicted on Ruhanika, and he vowed to ensure she faced the consequences of her actions. This was not just about Ruhanika; it was personal. The idea that someone could take advantage of her innocence and cause her suffering ignited a fierce determination within him.
Rudraksh: "Bhai ne khud ko toh usse bacha liya par phir Sachet Rathore..."
(My brother saved himself from her, but then Sachet Rathore...)
Just the mention of Sachetâs name sent a wave of anxiety crashing over Ruhanika. Her breathing quickened, a visible sign of the turmoil brewing within her. In a reflexive motion, her hand traveled from Rudraksh's collar to his neck, seeking the familiar comfort of his presence. She buried her face into his chest, her heart racing as she tried to shield herself from the memories that Sachet evoked. Rudraksh immediately sensed her distress, his heart aching for her. He wrapped his arms around her, rubbing her back gently, hoping to provide some solace. He caressed her head with tender strokes, but even his comforting gestures only eased her tension to a certain extent.
Rudraksh: "Sachet Rathore ne Kritika ko apne jhuthe pyaar ke jaal me fasaya aur uske sath...uske sath batameezi ko, Kartavya bhai sahi time pe aa gaye aur Kriti ko bacha liya."
(Sachet Rathore trapped Kritika in a fake love affair and then mistreated her. Kartavya Bhai arrived in time to save her.)
Ruhanika: "S...Sachet bhaiya bhi bahaut bure hai."
(S... Sachet Bhaiya is also very bad.)
Ruhanika's body went rigid with tension upon hearing the news about Sachet, the weight of the revelation settling heavily upon her. Sensing her distress, Rudraksh wrapped his arms around her, holding her tightly in an effort to provide comfort and support.
Rudraksh: "Toh mujhe un dono bhai behen pe bahaut gussa aaya tha aur mujhe khabar mili ki Vijaypratap apne ghar kisi chupke se shadi Kara Raha hai, mujhe laga vo apni beti ki shadi Kara Raha hai."
(I was furious with both of them. I found out that Vijaypratap was arranging a secret wedding, and I thought he was marrying off his daughter.)
Ruhanika: "Par Mahira didi toh yaha nahi rehti hai."
(But Mahira Didi doesnât live there.)
Rudraksh: "ha ye mujhe nahi pata tha, Kartavya bhai ne in sabse dur rakha tha nahi bataya tha mujhe ye sab. Toh maine socha main us ladki ko shadi karke yaha le aunga aur phir usse aur uske bhai se badla lunga."
(I didnât know that. Kartavya Bhai had kept me away from it all, so I had no idea. So I thought I would marry that girl, bring her here, and then take revenge on her and her brother.)
Ruhanika looked up at Rudraksh, her eyes sparkling with curiosity rather than fear. She searched his gaze for answers, eager to understand the situation more deeply.
Ruhanika: "Aap kya karte unke sath?? Kya aap bhi kuch galat..."
(What were you going to do with them? Were you also planning something wrong...?)
Rudraksh: "Mujhe nahi pata Jaana, maine kabhi socha nahi is baare me."
(I donât know, dear. I never thought that far.)
Ruhanika: "Phir kya hua?"
(Then what happened?)
Rudraksh: "Maine Arora se kehke Jis aadmi ki shadi use kidnap karva liya aur phir main vaha aa gaya. Maine vaha Vijaypratap ko dhamkaya toh vo shadi ke liye Maan Gaya. Par phir vo dono tumhe niche le aaye."
(I got Arora to kidnap the groom and then I went there. I threatened Vijaypratap into agreeing to the marriage, but then they brought you down.)
Ruhanika: "iska matlab aapne hume Mahira didi samajh ke vivah kiya humse??"
(So that means you married me thinking I was Mahira Didi?)
Rudraksh gently caressed her cheeks, his touch soft and tender. The warmth of his hand against her skin offered a soothing comfort.
Rudraksh: "Hmm, naam nahi pata tha mujhe Mahira ka, mujhe laga tum hi uski beti ho isiliye maine tumse zabardasti shadi ki."
(Hmm. I didnât know her name; I assumed you were his daughter, so I forced the marriage with you.)
Ruhanika: "Zabardasti nahi, humne apni marzi se shadi ki hai aapse."
(It wasnât forced; I married you of my own will.)
Rudraksh offered her a faint smile, one that held a mixture of affection and understanding. He leaned down and pressed a gentle kiss to her forehead.
Rudraksh: "Janta hu betu ki tumhe nahi pata tha ki tumhare shadi kisse hone wali hai."
(I know, dear, that you didnât know who you were marrying.)
Ruhanika: "Aap kaise jante hai??"
(How do you know?)
Rudraksh: "Yaad hai na shadi wali raat main 1 hafte ke liye chala gaya tha?"
(Remember how I left for a week after the wedding?)
Ruhanika: "Haa, kyuki hum aapko pasand nahi the isiliye na?? Isiliye aap hume is kamre me chod ke gaye the na"
(Yes, because you didnât like me, right? Thatâs why you left me in this room, isnât it?)
Rudraksh felt a pang of guilt wash over him as he remembered how he had treated Ruhanika in the initial days of their relationship. The memories of his thoughtless words and actions lingered in his mind, weighing heavily on his conscience. He couldn't shake the feeling that he had misunderstood her, failing to see the innocence and vulnerability that now tugged at his heart.
Rudraksh: "nahi Ruhh, main gaya tha kyuki meri zindagi ka ek bahaut bada kaam aa gaya tha jo karna bahaut zaruri tha, aur tumhe pasand nahi karta tha ye baat nahi hai, maine bataya na maine tumhe Mahira samajh liya tha."
(No, Ruhh. I had to leave for something very important in my life; it was something I had to do. It wasnât that I didnât like you. I already told you, I mistook you for Mahira.)
Ruhanika: "Kya isiliye kya hume saza dene ke liye aapne hume ghar se jaane ko kaha tha us raat??"
(Is that why... did you tell me to leave that night to punish me?)
Just the mention of that night sent Ruhanika into a spiral of fear, her body starting to shiver and tremble uncontrollably. Rudraksh could feel her hands grow cold against him, a stark contrast to the warmth he tried to provide. Instinctively, he tightened his embrace, pulling her closer as if he could shield her from the memories that haunted her. He rubbed her back in gentle circles.
Rudraksh: "Shhh Ruhhh, aisa nahi hai, us din Rishwik aaya tha na Ghar use Mahira ke baare me pata tha, usne bataya ki tum Mahira nahi ho, isiliye maine tumse kaha ki driver se keh ke apne ghar chali jao, toh tum kyu nahi gayi??"
(Shhh, Ruhh, itâs not like that. That night, Rishwik had come home, and he knew about Mahira. He told me that you werenât her, so I told you to go home with the driver. But why didnât you go?)
Ruhanika: "Hume sabse Darr lagta hai, anjaan log achche nahi hote, hume laga aap kuch der me darwaza khol denge isiliye hum ruke the par jab aapne nahi khola toh hume laga aap bhi hume pasand nahi karte, isiliye hum chale gaye."
(Iâm scared of everyone. Strangers arenât good people. I thought youâd open the door after some time, so I stayed, but when you didnât, I thought you didnât like me either. So... I left.)
Ruhanika's silent tears fell like raindrops, each one a reminder of the fear and pain from that nightâa night that still haunted her thoughts. As she recalled the events, she could feel the weight of her emotions pressing down on her. Rudraksh watched her, his own eyes glistening with unshed tears. He could see the terror that flickered in her gaze, a reflection of the suffering she endured, and the realization struck him hard: he was the one responsible for her pain. His heart raced, not just from the anguish of seeing her hurt, but from the deep connection they shared. Ruhanika instinctively rubbed his chest, as if trying to soothe not just his heart, but her own. Today, however, she felt a pressing need to unburden herself, to share the pain that had been festering within her.
Ruhanika: "bahaut andhera tha us raat, humne pehli baar bahar ki aisi duniya dekhi, hum bahaut darr gaye the, sansein lene me bahaut takleef ho Rahi thi, dil itni zor se dhadak raha tha jaise bahar hi aa jayega. Kuch der baat vo aadmi aaye humare pass, aur humara hath pakad liya..."
(That night, it was so dark. I saw such a world outside for the first time; I was really scared. Breathing was very difficult, and my heart was pounding so hard, it felt like it would jump out of my chest. After a while, a man came near me and held my handâ¦)
Ruhanika buried her face deeper into Rudraksh's chest, seeking solace in his warmth and strength. She clung to him more tightly, her arms wrapping around him as if she wanted to merge with him completely, finding refuge from the turmoil swirling around her. In that moment, his heartbeat was her anchor, and she longed to lose herself in his embrace, finding comfort and safety in his presence.
Ruhanika: "Hume bilkul achcha nahi laga, par phir unhone kaha ki aapne bheja hai unhe hume lene ke liye, hum khush ho gaye aur unke sath jaane lage. Par vo hume us raaste pe nahi leke gaye jaha se hum aaye the, vo hume us andheri jagah le gaye jaha bahaut se ped paude the, aur ek jhopdi, vo hume le gaye aur phir hu...m...e chu...n..e, la..ge aur.. vo..."
(I didnât like it at all, but then he said you sent him to take me back. I felt relieved and went along with him. But he didnât take me down the same path we came from. He took me to a dark place with lots of trees and shrubs, and a small hut. He took me there and then started to... touch... me. He...)
Rudraksh: "Shhhh Ruuhhhh, mat bolo kuch, kuch kehne ki zarurat nahi hai."
(Shhh, Ruuhhh, donât say anything, thereâs no need to say more.)
Both of them were in tears now, the weight of their shared pain becoming almost unbearable. Each sob echoed their heartache, but as they held onto each other, a sense of solace enveloped them. In the warmth of their embrace, they found a fragile comfort, a sanctuary where their sorrow could be shared.
Ruhanika: "Aapse nahi, toh kisse karane wale the vo humara Vivaah???"
(If not with you, then who were they planning to marry me to?)
Rudraksh shut his eyes tightly, feeling the weight of her words hang heavily in the air. Ruhanika had just opened up about the pain and fear that had consumed her since that night, and now, the thought of revealing the truth felt like an insurmountable burden. The man that night was the very man her uncle and aunt had wanted her to marryâthe man whose existence had cast a shadow over her life in ways she couldn't yet understand. But as he listened to her voice, trembling with emotion, he knew he couldnât hide any longer.
He wanted a fresh start for both of them, a clean slate that could only be achieved through honesty. Taking a deep breath, he steeled himself, feeling his heart race as he prepared to speak the truth.
Rudraksh: "Usi aadmi se jo us raat tum..."
(To that same man who was with you that nightâ¦)
Ruhanika's eyes widened in shock, filled with fear as she turned to Rudraksh. The vulnerability in her gaze pierced his heart, and he felt a wave of distress wash over him. He had always wanted to protect her, to shield her from any hurt or fear, yet here she was, overwhelmed by emotions he had hoped to spare her from. The sight of her pain was unbearable for him, a stark reminder of the weight of their circumstances, and he silently vowed to do everything in his power to erase that fear from her eyes.
