(Rudraksh)
Ruhanika and Rudraksh lay peacefully in their room, wrapped in the cocoon of warmth and comfort they always found in each other. Ruhanika was snuggled on top of Rudraksh, her head resting on his chest, lulled to sleep by the steady rhythm of his heartbeat. The calm of the night surrounded them, but soon, her tranquility was disrupted.
She stirred slightly, scrunching her nose in discomfort as she felt Rudrakshâs arms tighten around her. At first, she thought it was just a subconscious movement, but as the seconds ticked by, his grip became more rigid. His heavy breaths fanned across her face, uneven and labored, and his body grew tense beneath her.
Her sleep was disturbed, and concern tugged at her heart as she woke up. Ruhanika lifted her head to look at him, her brows furrowing deeply when she saw his face. Rudrakshâs features were scrunched in distress, beads of sweat forming on his forehead despite the cool temperature of the room. His head moved side to side as if caught in the throes of a troubling dream, and his breathing was rough and irregular. His grip on her was unrelenting, making her heart pound with worry. Gently, she placed a hand on his forehead to check for a fever, but his temperature felt normal. This puzzled her even more. Summoning all her strength, she carefully wriggled free from his embrace, the effort leaving her breathless. She sat beside him, her eyes fixed on his restless face, her mind racing with questions.
Ruhanika: "Kitne dare huye lag rahe hai, hum utha de kya inhe, par phir kahi aur na ghabra jaye."
(He seem so scared. Should I wake him up, or will it frighten him more?)
Ruhanika sat nearby, torn between waking Rudraksh and letting him rest. Her fingers fidgeted nervously as she debated what to do. Just as she gathered the courage to approach him, Rudraksh suddenly jolted upright, his eyes wide as he sat up abruptly.
Rudraksh: "Bachaooooo...."
(Helpâ¦)
Rudraksh screamed. Rudrakshâs breathing was heavy, his face damp with sweat as the weight of the situation bore down on him. He closed his eyes for a moment, trying to compose himself, when he suddenly felt a tender touch on his face. He opened his eyes to find Ruhanika gently wiping his forehead with her dupatta, her touch soft and caring. Her eyes were filled with concern as she quietly tended to him, the warmth of her gesture offering him a sense of calm amidst the chaos. Rudrakshâs heart softened at the sight, appreciating the silent support she was offering him.
Ruhanika: 'Kya ab aap thik hai??"
(Are you okay now?)
Rudraksh didnât say a word, his exhaustion evident in the way he simply lay down, placing his head gently on Ruhanika's lap. He hugged her waist tightly, burying his face in her stomach as if seeking comfort and solace in her presence. Ruhanika, understanding the unspoken need for reassurance, softly rubbed his arms with one hand, her touch soothing and steady. With the other hand, she gently caressed his head, her fingers running through his hair in a calming motion, offering him the quiet support he so desperately needed in that moment.
Ruhanika: "Akssshhh???"
Rudraksh's grip on her waist tightened, his fingers pressing firmly into her side as if unwilling to let go.
Ruhanika: "Darr lag raha aapko??"
(Are you scared?)
Rudraksh: "Hmmm"
Ruhanika: "sapne me bhoot aaya phir se??"
(Another nightmare about ghosts?)
Rudraksh looked up at Ruhanika for a brief moment, his gaze soft before he once again buried his face in her stomach, seeking the comfort of her presence. Ruhanika, sensing his need for reassurance, continued to rub his arms gently while her other hand remained caressing his head. She leaned down and kissed his forehead, a tender gesture that made Rudraksh close his eyes tightly, feeling the warmth of her touch. Slowly, he relaxed, the tension in his body easing just a little.
Rudraksh shifted, settling more comfortably on her lap, now facing her. He held one of her hands tightly while her other hand continued to soothe him, gently caressing his head. With the soothing sensation of her touch, Rudraksh closed his eyes, finally allowing himself to relax fully, feeling safe and at peace in her embrace.
Rudraksh: "Bahaut badi family thi humari, sab sath rehte the, bahaut khush the sab par shayad tumhare bhagwan ko ye manjur nahi tha."
(I used to have such a big family. Everyone lived together, so happy. But maybe your God didnât like it.)
Ruhanika was utterly confused. Rudraksh's grip on her hand tightened even more, his fingers digging into her skin as if he were caught in some sort of internal struggle. A surge of emotion seemed to overwhelm him, and to Ruhanikaâs shock, a single tear slipped from the corner of his eye, glistening in the dim light of the room.
Rudraksh: "Cheen li humari sari khushiyan, mera sab kuch unhone cheen liya, sab khatam kar diya, akela chod diya mujhe aur Rishi ko is berehem duniya me."
(He took away all my happiness, everything I had. He destroyed it all and left me and Rishi alone in this cruel world.)
Ruhanika noticed the tension building in Rudraksh's muscles, his body stiffening with what seemed like a surge of anger. Feeling the weight of the moment, she gently leaned in and pressed a soft kiss to his forehead, her lips lingering for a brief moment. With tender fingers, she wiped away the tear that had escaped his eye. Almost immediately, she felt his body begin to relax, the tightness in his muscles easing under the calm of her touch.
Ruhanika: "Par ab toh hum hai na aapke sath aap akele nahi hai Akshh."
(But now I'm here with you, right? Youâre not alone, Akshh.)
Rudraksh slowly opened his eyes and a faint smile tugged at the corner of his lips, soft and weary, as if her soothing touch had calmed the storm inside him.
Rudraksh: "Haa meri Bechain si Zindagi ka sukoon."
(Yes, you, the peace of my restless life.)
Ruhanika: "Hum humesha rahenge aapke sath."
(Iâll always be with you.)
Rudraksh: "Meri zindagi me aane ke liye thank you Sohneyo."
(Thank you for coming into my life, Sohneyo.)
Ruhanika couldnât help but give Rudraksh a mock glare, her eyes narrowing playfully. Rudraksh, sensing the teasing look, smiled again.
Ruhanika: "Hum patni hai aapki, apni hi biwi ka dhanyawad kon karta hai??"
(Iâm your wife! Who thanks their own wife?)
Rudraksh: "Main karta hu, aapka pati."
(I doâyour husband.)
Ruhanika shot him another mock glare, her expression a perfect blend of feigned annoyance and affection. Rudraksh, unable to hold back, smiled warmly at her, his eyes twinkling with amusement. After a brief pause, the playful tension between them melted away, and they both let out a soft, shared chuckle.
Ruhanika: "Hum yahi hai aapke pass, aap araam se so jaiye."
(Iâm right here with you. Sleep now, youâll feel better.)
Rudraksh slowly sat up, Ruhanika got confused.
Ruhanika: "Areh so jaiye na aapko araam milega."
(Come on, sleep already.)
Rudraksh: "Mujhe araam milega jaana aur aapki kamar me dard ho jayega Ruhh. Aao main sulata hu tumhe..."
(Iâll feel better, but your lap will hurt, Ruhh. Let me put you to sleep instead.)
Ruhanika: "Nahii aap aiye humare godh me sar rakh ke so jaiye"
(No, you rest your head on my lap and sleep.)
Rudraksh: "Haa taaki subah tumhari kamar me dard ho jaiye na, bilkul nahi chalo aao"
(So that your back hurts in the morning? No way. Come here.)
Ruhanika pouted playfully, but then her face lit up with a mischievous grin as a sudden idea crossed her mind. Seeing the confusion in Rudraksh's eyes, she decided to act on her plan. Without saying a word, she shifted, lying down on her back, and stretched her arms out toward him, her hands open as if inviting him closer.
Ruhanika: "Aiye aise so jaiye, aise hume dard nahi hoga."
(Lie like this. I wonât feel any pain.)
Rudraksh: "Ji nahi, ek baar mujhe dekho aur phir khudko dekho, suii jitni toh ho tum aur m..."
(No way. Look at me and then at yourselfâyouâre as tiny as a needle, and Iâ¦)
Ruhanika: "Ek aur baar humare badan ke baare me kuch kaha toh hum thode se naraz ho jayenge."
(Say one more word about my body, and Iâll be a little upset with you.)
Rudraksh let out a soft chuckle at her playful words, a warm smile spreading across his face.
Ruhanika: "Chaliye ab jaldi aaiye hathon me dard ho gaya hai."
(Now come quickly, my hands are getting tired.)
Rudraksh: "Jaana meri baat suno, tum na dab jaogi, main yaha..."
(Listen, youâll get crushed. Iâllâ¦)
Ruhanika shot him a dramatic glare, her expression turning mockingly stern, before pulling her hand back with a huff. Without another word, she grabbed the comforter and wrapped it tightly around herself, hiding her face completely. With a quick movement, she turned to the other side, her back now facing him. Rudraksh couldn't help but chuckle at her antics, shaking his head in amusement at how easily she could switch from playful to dramatic. He watched her for a moment, the sound of her soft, muffled movements confirming that she had heard his laughter.
Ruhanika: "Thode se Naraz hai hum, hasiye mat hum pe."
(Iâm a little upset now. Donât laugh at me!)
Rudraksh chuckled even more, the sound full of amusement as he shook his head at her playful retreat.
Rudraksh: "Thik hai tumhe thoda sa mana leta hu."
(Alright, let me cheer you up a bit.)
Rudraksh, feeling a wave of comfort and desire for closeness, gently pulled the comforter from her head, turning Ruhanika onto her back. Without hesitation, he lay down beside her, placing his head on her chest, his ear pressed against her soft skin. He wrapped his arms around her small waist, holding her close as the steady rhythm of her heartbeat and the softness of her skin beneath his cheek offered him a sense of solace he hadnât known he needed. He glanced up at her, his eyes softening as he saw her grinning down at him.
Rudraksh: "Kya??"
(What?)
Ruhanika: "Aapse baatein kaise manvani hai samajh gaye hai hum."
(Iâve figured out how to get my way with you.)
Rudraksh: "Chalak ho gayi ho."
(Youâve gotten clever.)
Both of them giggled softly, the playful moment easing the tension that had lingered. Rudraksh then placed his head back on her chest, seeking the comfort of her warmth. Ruhanika, sensing his need for care, began to gently caress his head and the area of his back above his vest, her fingers moving in soothing motions. After a few minutes, Ruhanika noticed that Rudraksh had drifted into a peaceful sleep, his breathing steady and calm. She smiled tenderly as she looked down at his relaxed face, feeling a wave of affection for him. Leaning down, she pressed a soft kiss to his head, her heart swelling with love as she quietly admired the man she cherished.
Ruhanika: "Hum samajh sakte hai aapko takleef ho Rahi hogi na isiliye kuch pucha nahi, par hum puri koshish kare aapko araam dene ki... Hum bhi aapko bahaut kuch batana chahte hai bas darr jaate hai, bol hi nahi paate."
(I can sense when youâre in pain, so I donât ask much. But Iâll try my best to make you feel better. I want to share a lot with you, but I just get scared and canât say it.)
Ruhanika embraced him tightly, pulling him closer as she felt a deep sense of solace wash over her. His presence, the warmth of his body against hers, was a comfort she could always count on.
Ruhanika: "Umeed hai hum aur aap dono apna dard ek dusre se baant ke apna dard bhul jaye."
(I hope we can share our pain and forget it together.)
Ruhanika slowly closed her eyes, the soft rhythm of Rudraksh's breath calming her. She felt his steady heartbeat against her. As she nestled deeper into his embrace, a sense of complete contentment filled her, and she drifted off to sleep.
The next morning, Rudraksh slowly stirred awake, blinking against the soft morning light that filtered through the curtains. He groggily looked around, his senses still adjusting to the new day, only to find that he was alone in the bed. His heart skipped a beat as he rubbed his eyes, wondering where Ruhanika had gone. He sat up and scanned the room, his gaze lingering on the empty space beside him. A slight frown tugged at his brow as he realized she wasnât there. Reaching for his phone on the bedside table, he checked the time and saw that it was well past the time his alarm was set to go off. The alarm itself had already been silenced.
Rudraksh: "Ye kya kiya Betu gym miss ho jayega Aaj ab."
(What did you do, Betu? Now Iâll miss the gym today.)
Rudraksh shook his head with a knowing smile, realizing that Ruhanika must have turned off his alarm. Just as the thought crossed his mind, the door opened, and Ruhanika entered the room. Their eyes met, and for a brief moment, they simply stared at each other.
Rudraksh: "Good morning Sohneyo."
Rudraksh greeted Ruhanika with a warm smile, but she didnât respond with words. Instead, she cupped her face with both hands, tilting her head slightly as she gazed at him with admiring eyes. The look in her eyes left him momentarily puzzled, and he couldnât help but raise an eyebrow in confusion. After a beat, he shifted the comforter off himself and walked over to her, his curiosity growing.
Rudraksh: "Jaana kya hau??"
(Whatâs going on?)
Ruhanika continued to gaze at him, her posture unchanged, her hands gently cupping her face as she watched him with an almost dreamy look in her eyes. Rudraksh, stepped closer and gently shook her by the shoulders.
Rudraksh: "Ruhh???"
Ruhanika: "Aap aise subah subah uljhe bikhare baalon me bhi kitne Sundar hai, aur aapki awaaz bhi subah subah kitni madhur hai."
(You look so beautiful, even with messy hair in the morning. And your voiceâitâs so sweet early in the day.)
Rudraksh's eyes widened in surprise. The intensity of her stare caught him off guard, and a warmth spread across his face. His ears flushed pink, and soon, the blush spread to his cheeks as well. Feeling suddenly self-conscious, he quickly turned his face away, unable to maintain eye contact.
Rudraksh: "Ye pagal bina jaane itna flirt kar leti hai, jaan jayegi toh meri jaan hi le legi."
(This crazy girl flirts so effortlessly. If she realizes, sheâll be the death of me.)
Rudraksh murmured softly to himself, his voice barely audible. But before he could dwell on it any longer, Ruhanika gently took hold of his hand, her touch grounding him. She gave him a playful shake, bringing his attention back to her.
Ruhanika: "Ab aap kaha kho gaye??"
(What are you thinking about now?)
Rudraksh: "Kahi nahi, pehle ye batao ye subah subah kaha gayab ho gayi thi?? Aur mera alarm kyu band Kiya??"
(Nothing. Tell me, where did you disappear to early in the morning? And why did you turn off my alarm?)
Ruhanika: "Taaki aap so sake achche se aur hum kuch karne niche Gaye the, aur ab aap humari tarah sawaal mat kijiye jaiye taiyaar ho jaiye hum intezar kar rahe hai."
(So that you could sleep properly. I went downstairs to do something, and now, donât ask so many questions. Go get ready.)
Ruhanika playfully pushed Rudraksh toward the washroom, her attempts to hurry him met with his amused chuckle. Realizing her efforts were in vain, he decided to go and freshen up on his own. As he walked away, she smiled at his teasing demeanor.
Once he was out of sight, Ruhanika moved around the room, folding the duvet neatly and straightening the bedsheets, making sure everything was in place. She then went to the closet, picking out Rudraksh's office wear for the day and laying it out carefully. After that, she returned to the room, settling down to wait for him.
A little while later, Rudraksh came back into the room, but instead of his usual office attire, he was dressed casually, a relaxed smile on his face.
Ruhanika: "Areh aaj aap office nahi jayenge??"
(Arenât you going to the office today?)
Rudraksh: "Nahi betu aaj Ashvik aur Rishwik sambhal lenge."
(No, Betu. Ashvik and Rishwik will manage today.)
Ruhanika practically sprang off the couch, her excitement bubbling over.
Ruhanika: "Iska matlab aaj aap saara din humare sath rahenge?? "
(Does that mean youâll spend the whole day with me?)
Rudraksh, unable to resist, playfully flicked her nose, a mischievous grin spreading across his face.
Rudraksh: "Haan ji aap hi ke sath rahunga, aur chalo ab bhook lag rahi hai."
(Yes, Iâll stay with you all day. Now, letâs go; Iâm hungry.)
Ruhanika: "Ji ji jaldi chaliye."
(Alright, come quickly.)
Ruhanika, grabbed Rudraksh's hand and began pulling him along. However, it was clear that he was the one walking, shaking his head in amusement at her playful antics. Determined to make the day special, she had already gone down early in the morning to prepare his favorite breakfast, along with some pancakesâa recipe she had recently learned from him.
As the family gathered around the breakfast table, they all enjoyed the meal, chatting and laughing together. Afterward, Rishwik and Ashvik left for the office, and to Ruhanikaâs surprise, Kartavya, Kritika, and Savisha also found reasons to leave, offering quick excuses before heading out. This left Rudraksh and Ruhanika alone in the house.
After breakfast, Ruhanika gave the house helpers instructions for lunch, making sure everything was in order. Once she finished, she entered the room, expecting the usual calm atmosphere, but was immediately taken aback by the sight of Rudraksh sitting on the couch with a sad expression on his face. Her heart skipped a beat, confusion and concern flashing across her features. Without a second thought, she quickly made her way over to him and sat beside him, her voice soft but filled with worry.
Ruhanika: "Suniye"
(Listen)
Rudraksh looked at her, his face filled with sadness, and it struck her deeply. She couldnât bear seeing him like this.
Ruhanika: "Kya ho gaya aap udaas hai??"
(Why are you sad?)
Rudraksh: "Haa yellow udaas hu main"
(Yes, Iâm sad, yellow)
Ruhanika: "Par kyu?? Hume bataiye hum koshish karenge aapko khush karne ki."
(But why? Tell me. Iâll try to make you happy.)
Rudraksh: "Nahi tum nahi kar sakti jaane do."
(No, you canât. Just let it go.)
Rudraksh started to rise, clearly intending to walk away, but before he could get far, Ruhanika reached out and gently grabbed his hand, stopping him in his tracks.
Ruhanika: "Hum karenge aap bataiye toh."
(I will. Just tell me.)
Rudraksh let out a deep sigh, his shoulders sagging slightly as he looked at her.
Rudraksh: "Kal karwachauth hai na toh mere pass uske liye kapde hi nahi hai."
(Tomorrow is Karva Chauth, and I donât have any clothes for it.)
Ruhanika looked at him intently for a moment, her gaze softening. Then, she let out a light giggle.
Ruhanika: "Toh isme kya hua aap jaake naye le lijiye na"
(So? Just go and buy some new ones.)
Rudraksh: "Mujhe apne liye kapde lena aata nahi hai, humesha Rishwik leta hai aur dekho aaj chala gaya office."
(I donât know how to shop for myself. Rishwik usually does it for me, and now heâs gone to the office.)
Ruhanika: "Toh bhaisa ya bhaiyuu??"
(Then ask Brother in law or Brother?)
Rudraksh: "sab toh bahar gaye hai na Ruhh, uper se main pehenta bhi vahi kapde hu jo tum nikal deti ho, ab kapde nahi hai toh kaise manaunga Karwachauth tumhare sath??"
(Everyoneâs out, Ruhh. Plus, I only wear what you pick out for me. If I donât have clothes, how will I celebrate Karva Chauth with you?)
Ruhanika's smile faded as a wave of disappointment washed over her. She felt a knot tighten in her chest, realizing that Rudraksh might not be able to celebrate the festival with her. The thought of not sharing their first festival together made her heart ache. She had been looking forward to it so much, to the idea of celebrating this special time as a couple, and now the uncertainty loomed over her like a shadow.
Rudraksh: "Chodo man maar ke kuch bhi pehen lunga"
(Forget it, Iâll just wear whatever.)
Rudraksh spoke in an almost broken tone, his voice thick with sadness. His words trailing off as he began to stand up. But before he could move, Ruhanika quickly reached out and grasped his hand once again, her grip firm but trembling. Rudraksh looked down at her, and he noticed the fear in her eyes. The intensity of her gaze pierced his heart, and it almost made him reconsider. But deep down, he knew he had to do it, no matter how much it hurt to see her like this.
Rudraksh: "Kya hua Ruhh??"
(What happened, Ruhh?)
Ruhanika: "Kya h..hum, v..o hu..hum chale aapke saath??"
(W-well, I can go with you if you want?)
Rudraksh raised his eyebrows, casting a questioning look at her.
Rudraksh: "Par tumhe toh Darr lagta hai bahar jaane se toh.."
(But youâre scared to go out.)
Ruhanika: "Par aap hai na humare sath, hum nahi darenge, chaliye hum chalte hai aapke sath."
(But youâre with me. I wonât be scared. Letâs go together.)
Rudraksh smiled softly, a warmth spreading through him as he saw the confidence and trust Ruhanika had in him. Her faith in him was evident in the way she held onto him, and it touched him more than words could express. He didn't questioned anything else as he didnât want to scare her or add to her worries.
Rudraksh: "Thik hai taiyar ho jao chalte hai."
(Alright, get ready.)
Ruhanika: "Hum kya pehne?? Aise bahar jate hai toh kya pehente hai??"
(What should I wear? What do people wear when they go out?)
Rudraksh: "Aao batata hu."
(Come, Iâll help you.)
Rudraksh and Ruhanika entered the closet together, both rummaging through the collection of clothes. After a few moments of searching, Rudraksh picked out an off-white, creamish Anarkali suit, its delicate fabric catching the light. He handed it to Ruhanika with a gentle smile, and she took it from him, her eyes soft with appreciation. Without saying a word, she walked towards the washroom, her steps light, ready to change into the outfit he had chosen for her.
Rudraksh: "Sorry betu, aise nahi karna chahta tha par kya karu zaruri hai ye karna, tumhare man se darr nikalna zaruri hai."
(Sorry, Betu. I didnât want to do this, but itâs necessary. You need to overcome this fear.)
As Ruhanika entered the washroom, Rudraksh took out his phone and dialed Amandeepâs number.
Rudraksh: "Arora, is everything ready?"
Amandeep: "Yes, sir. Did Ruhi agree?"
Rudraksh: "Yeah, just get the cars ready and ensure security is tight."
Amandeep: "Alright."
After they hung up the call, Rudraksh changed into a crisp white shirt and grey pants, settling in the room while waiting for Ruhanika.
When she finally entered, Rudraksh couldnât help but be taken aback. Ruhanika had put on her beautiful dress, the fabric flowing gracefully around her. Her Dupatta was draped carefully over her shoulders, and her hair was styled in a neat braid. The jhumkas in her ears glistened as they swayed gently, while her bangles caught the light with every movement. Around her neck, the nuptial chain sparkled, and the vermillion in her hairline and the bindi between her eyebrows completed the look, making her appear even more radiant.
Rudraksh stood mesmerized by her beauty, his breath catching for a moment. Without thinking, he stepped closer to her, drawn by the overwhelming affection and admiration he felt in that instant. He gently cupped her face, his lips brushing her forehead in a tender kiss, a silent expression of love and awe for the woman he was so lucky to have by his side.
Ruhanika: "Hum thik lag rahe hai??"
(Do I look fine?)
Rudraksh: "Thik nahi Sohneyo, bahaut pyaari lag rahi ho."
(Not just fine, beautiful one, you look absolutely lovely.)
Ruhanika smiled nervously, a hint of uncertainty in her eyes. She was excited but also anxious about the upcoming moments. Rudraksh immediately noticed the tension in her, and without a word, he stepped closer. Gently cupping her face with both hands, he looked into her eyes with warmth and understanding.
Rudraksh: "Relax, main hu sath me."
(Relax, Iâm here with you.)
Ruhanika smiled at him, her nervousness melting away under his gaze. But as he looked at her, Rudrakshâs eyes flicked to something and a soft chuckle escaped his lips.
Rudraksh: "Jaana hum bahar ja rahe hai, ab toh ye soft slippers utar do."
(Letâs go, weâre heading outside now. Please take off these soft slippers.)
Ruhanika: "Kyu?? Hume toh pasand hai ye."
(Why? I like them.)
Rudraksh: "Haa baba, par bahar nahi pehen paogi, aao mere sath."
(I know, dear, but you canât wear them outside. Come with me.)
Rudraksh gently took Ruhanika's hand and led her back into the closet, where he carefully picked out a pair of matching Jutis for her. With his own hands, he helped her slip them on. Afterward, both of them made their way downstairs together. As they descended, Ruhanika tightly gripped his hand, her heart racing with uncertainty. She trusted Rudraksh completely, but stepping out of the house felt daunting. The scars from the pastâespecially the years of being caged and controlledâmade it hard for her to let go of her fears, even though she was now with someone who would never hurt her. Rudraksh, sensing her unease, paused and turned toward her. Without saying a word, he pulled her into a comforting embrace, wrapping his arms around her tightly. He gently rubbed her back, offering silent reassurance.
Rudraksh: "Kuch nahi hone dunga, darne ki zarurat nahi hai jaana, main hu na."
(I wonât let anything happen to you. Thereâs no need to worry; Iâm here for you.)
Ruhanika nodded silently, her emotions swirling inside her as Rudraksh gently moved towards the door. With a reassuring smile, he extended his hand toward her. Her hands trembled slightly as she hesitated for a moment before placing her hand in his, the contact grounding her but also amplifying the fear and uncertainty that gripped her heart.
She shut her eyes tightly, her pulse racing, and took a deep breath before stepping outside, the unfamiliarity of the world beyond the house making her heart pound even faster. Rudraksh, sensing her anxiety, immediately placed his hand on her shoulder, drawing her into a side hug. His presence was a steady comfort, but Ruhanika, overwhelmed with emotions, instinctively clutched the fabric of his T-shirt near his stomach, holding onto him for support. Her grip was tight, as though she feared losing herself in the vastness of the world outside. Rudraksh, with quiet strength, gently pulled her closer, offering her the unwavering comfort of his presence.
Rudraksh: "Nahi jaana hai?? Vapas ghar me chale??"
(Donât want to go? Should we head back home?)
Ruhanika looked at Rudraksh, her eyes softening as she gave him a faint smile.
Ruhanika: "Nahi, hum chalenge aapke sath."
(No, Iâll go with you.)
Rudraksh smiled, his heart swelling with pride, as Ruhanikaâs faint smile told him she was starting to overcome her fears. It was exactly what he had hoped forâto see her face her uncertainties with strength, to grow together and become braver with each step. As they moved forward, the atmosphere shifted. Ruhanika's gaze widened in surprise as she noticed several men dressed in black outfits, their presence commanding yet calm. Without a word, they all bowed respectfully in front of her and Rudraksh.
Ruhanika: "Suniye"
(Listen...)
Rudraksh: "Sunaiye"
(Yes, Iâm listening.)
Ruhanika: "Ye sab log aapke liye kaam karte hai??"
(Do all these people work for you?)
Rudraksh: "Haa Ruhh"
(Yes, Ruhh.)
Ruhanika: "Toh kya inke pass bhi kapde nahi hai?? Sabne ek jaise hi kaale kapde pehne hai."
(Then why donât they have clothes? Theyâre all wearing the same black outfits.)
Rudraksh chuckled softly at her surprised expression and, gently squeezed her in his embrace.
Rudraksh: "Unka dresscode ya uniform keh lo."
(Thatâs their dress code or uniform, you could say.)
Ruhanika: "Uniform toh School me hota hai na??"
(But uniforms are for school, right?)
Rudraksh: "Haa Ruuhh par inke kaam me bhi hota hai ye bodygards hai. "
(Yes, Ruhh, but in their work, uniforms are also necessaryâtheyâre bodyguards.)
Ruhanika: "Aapko inki zarurat kyu hai?? Aap kya kaam karte hai??"
(Why do you need bodyguards? What kind of work do you do?)
Rudraksh: "Phir kabhi bataunga."
(Iâll tell you some other time.)
Ruhanika nodded silently, still processing the unexpected gestures of respect from the men. Rudraksh, opened the door for her with a gentle smile, helping her sit inside with utmost care. Once she was settled, he walked around to the driver's side and slid into his seat.
Ruhanika: "Aap swayam chalayenge gaadi??"
(Are you going to drive the car yourself?)
Rudraksh: "Jii meri Rajkumari ji, jab meri Ruhh sirf mere liye mere sath aa sakti hai toh main kisi aur ko kyu drive karne du tumhare liye?? My passenger princess.
(Of course, my princess! When my Ruhh can come just for me, with me, why should I let someone else drive for you? Youâre my passenger princess.)
Rudraksh gently buckled Ruhanika's seatbelt, his movements tender yet purposeful as he adjusted it around her. Once he made sure she was securely fastened, he leaned over to fasten his own seatbelt, his eyes never leaving her for long.
Ruhanika: "Aap kitne nipurna hai, aapko toh sab aata hai."
(Youâre so skilled; you seem to know everything.)
Rudraksh couldn't help but smile at Ruhanika's endearing use of extreme Hindi. He chuckled softly before igniting the engine, the sound of the car purring to life filling the quiet air. As they drove, their car smoothly exited the gates of RM Mansion, joining the convoy of cars. There were five ahead of them, leading the way, and five more following closely behind, a show of protection and solidarity. Ruhanika, feeling the weight of everything happening around her, instinctively reached over and clutched his hand that rested on the gear shift. Her grip was firm, a silent testament to her nervousness. Sensing her unease, Rudraksh gently took her hand in his, offering her the comfort she needed. He rubbed her hand gently, his touch reassuring and calming.
Rudraksh: "Relax, ek kaam karo mujhse baatein kar lo kahi aur dhyaan nahi jayega."
(Relax. Just keep talking to me so you donât focus on anything else.)
Ruhanika nodded quietly, her attention drawn to the steady motion of Rudrakshâs hands as he took the turn. With one hand on the steering wheel and his sleeves rolled up to his elbows, his muscular arms were on full display. The veins in his arms stood out as he maneuvered the car with ease, his grip strong but relaxed. Ruhanikaâs gaze lingered on his hands, captivated by the effortless confidence in his movements.
Ruhanika: "ye kapde aap pe kitne jach rahe hai, aur aapke hath kitna pyaare lag rahe hai. Humari toh nazar hi nahi hatt rahi."
(You look so dashing in these clothes, and your hands look so beautiful. I canât take my eyes off you.)
Rudraksh looked outside the window.
Rudraksh: "Baat karne bola tha Ruhh, Flirt karne nahi"
(I asked you to talk to me, Ruhh, not to flirt with me.)
Ruhanika: "Ji kya kaha??"
(What did you say?)
Rudraksh: "Ahh, gaane sunogi?? Lagau??"
(Uh, would you like to listen to some music? Shall I play something?)
Ruhanika: "Ji lagaiye, vo wale lagaiyega jo Rishi Bhai lagate hai."
(Sure, but play the ones Rishi brother listens to.)
Rudraksh glanced at Ruhanika, his eyes narrowing into a playful glare.
Rudraksh: "us gadhe ne alag dimaag kharab Kiya hua hai tumhara, na jaane kaise gaane sunata hai."
(That fool has already corrupted your taste. Who knows what kind of songs heâs been making you listen to.)
Ruhanika: "Arehhh achche gaane sunate hai vo, jaise ki pinky hai paise waalo ki, phir koi sheela ki jawani aur ..."
(Oh, he plays good onesâlike Pinky Hai Paise Waalon Ki, then Sheila Ki Jawani, and...)
Rudraksh: "Bas bas bas jaana please, aaj main tumhe dhang ke gaane sunata hu."
(Stop, stop, stop, please! Let me play you some decent songs today.)
Ruhanika nodded, her grip on Rudrakshâs hand loosening as the calming music filled the car. Soft, soothing melodies played in the background, and she couldnât help but lean her head gently on his shoulder, letting the comfort of the moment wash over her. The steady rhythm of the car and the warmth of Rudrakshâs presence made her feel safe, so much so that her fears seemed to fade into the distance. She closed her eyes, taking in the peacefulness, feeling like she was in a world of her own.
As the car smoothly glided down the empty road, Ruhanika noticed something oddâthe entire road was eerily empty. It struck her as strange, but she didnât question it, too absorbed in the calmness of the moment and her trust in Rudraksh. Her thoughts wandered, and before she realized it, they had arrived at the mall.
Rudraksh: "Ruhh, bas do minute sar uthaogi apna main car park kar lu??"
(Ruhh, can you lift your head for just two minutes so I can park the car?)
Ruhanika nodded and sat up straight. Rudraksh, with his usual confidence, placed his hand behind her seat and turned to park the car. As he did, Ruhanika couldn't help but tilt her head slightly, her eyes softening as she gazed at him with admiration. Rudraksh, sensing her gaze, parked the car and glanced at her. He noticed the dreamy look in her eyes and couldnât help but chuckle. With a playful smile, he clicked his fingers in front of her face, snapping her out of her reverie.
Rudraksh: "Kya hua Ruhh?"
(What happened, Ruhh?)
Ruhanika: "Ye abhi Jo aapne Kiya gaadi ko park, tab bhi aap bahaut pyaare lag rahe the, aur aapke ye haath man karta hai dekhte hi rahe aur khelte hi rahe."
(Just now, when you parked the car, you looked so adorable. And your hands... I just feel like looking at them and playing with them forever.)
Rudraksh quickly turned his gaze away, his throat clearing as he tried to hide the faint blush creeping up his neck. Today, it seemed, his wife was determined to make him blush, he thought with a small, helpless smile. He took a deep breath, gathering himself, and then shifted his focus back to her, his expression more composed but his eyes still carrying a hint of warmth.
Rudraksh: "Ghar jaake khel Lena mere haathon se, abhi chalo shopping karne chalte hai."
(You can play with my hands when we get home. For now, letâs go shopping.)
Ruhanika's expression shifted as a wave of fear clouded her eyes once more. Despite the comfort she had felt in the car, the thought of stepping out into the world again brought back her anxiety. The car, with its familiar interior and the safety of just herself and Rudraksh, had felt like a small, secure bubble. But now, stepping out felt like facing the unknown again, and the fear that had been dormant started to resurface.
Noticing the shift in her demeanor, Rudraksh gently reached over and took her hand, his touch tender and reassuring. He caressed the back of her palm softly, offering a silent promise that he would be there with her every step of the way. His touch grounded her, and for a moment, she drew strength from it. She looked up at him, her chest tightening but also finding comfort in the steadiness of his gaze. She knew, deep down, that with him by her side, she could face whatever was ahead.
Rudraksh: "Jab bhi Lage ki ab aur nahi hoga, bas ek baar keh dena hum usi waqt ghar chalenge, thik hai??"
( If at any moment you feel like you canât continue, just tell me, and weâll go home immediately, okay?)
Ruhanika simply nodded.
Rudraksh: "Agar abhi bhi Ghar jaana hai toh..."
(Even now, if you want to go back home...)
Ruhanika: "Hum yaha tak aa gaye hai, ab aage bhi chalenge, aap hai humare sath toh hume darne ki zarurat nahi hai, hum jante hai aap kuch nahi hone denge."
(Weâve come this far, so letâs keep going. Iâm not afraid when youâre with me. I know you wonât let anything happen.)
Ruhanika smiled softly. Rudraksh returned her smile, his expression tender and filled with love. He gently caressed her cheek, his fingers grazing her skin with a gentle touch before leaning in to plant a soft kiss on her forehead.
Rudraksh: "My brave Ruhh."
Ruhanikaâs smile widened, a flicker of reassurance and warmth breaking through the layers of her fear. As Rudraksh stepped out of the car, his presence made her feel safer, more secure. He swiftly made his way to the other side and opened the door for her, his hand extending toward her in a silent offer of support.
Ruhanika hesitated for a brief moment, then placed her hand in his as he gently helped her out of the car. Her eyes scanned the surroundingsâthe bustling environment, the towering building before her. The sudden realization of being out in the world, away from the safety of the house, made her chest tighten. She instinctively clutched his biceps, her grip firm but slightly trembling as her nerves heightened.
Ruhanika: "Itni badi buildings hai, aap jante hai humne ye sab keval kitabon me aur kuch dino se movies me dekha hai, par humne dekha hai yaha aisi jagaho par bahaut bheed rehti hai toh ye sab khaali kaise??"
(These buildings are so huge! Did you know Iâve only seen such things in books or recently in movies? But Iâve also seen that these places are always crowded, so how is it so empty here?)
Rudraksh: "Vo ye shehar se thoda door hai na betu isiliye zyada koi aata nahi hai."
(Itâs because itâs a little far from the city, Ruhh. Thatâs why not many people come here.)
Ruhanika: "Toh hum kyu aaye hai yaha?? Agar yaha aapki pasand ke kapde nahi mile toh??"
(Then why did we come here? What if we donât find clothes you like?)
Rudraksh: "Kyuki ye humare ghar ke pass hai Ruhh, zyada mat socho ab aao chalo."
(Because itâs close to our home, Ruhh. Stop overthinking and come on.)
Ruhanika nodded. Rudraksh, however, couldn't help but feel a wave of relief. It was a quiet, unspoken truth that he had used his influence and resources to ensure that the entire mall, along with the surrounding areas, were vacantâjust so Ruhanika wouldn't feel out of place or overwhelmed. It was a gesture of love, though one he couldn't voice to her directly. He simply wanted her to feel safe. As they entered the mall, Ruhanika's curiosity began to shine through. She looked around, her gaze flitting from one display to another, absorbing the sights, the colors, the open space. Though there was a small flicker of nervousness in her eyes, the presence of Rudraksh beside her eased that tension. With him by her side, the world seemed a little less daunting.
Ruhanika: "Andar se bhi kitna bada hai ye."
(Itâs so big even on the inside.)
Rudraksh: "Aao chalo uper chalte hai."
(Come on, letâs go upstairs.)
Ruhanika: "Uper kaha??"
(Upstairs? Where?)
Rudraksh: "Clothes section uper hai na betu."
(To the clothes section, Ruhh.)
As they approached the escalators, Rudraksh began to move forward, ready to take the next step. However, just as he was about to take another step, he noticed Ruhanika had taken two steps back.
Rudraksh: "Ruhh??"
Ruhanika: "Ye toh khud chal raha hai"
(Itâs moving on its own!)
Rudraksh: "Haa ye escalators hai betu"
(Yeah, these are escalators, love)
Ruhanika: "Vo hum jaante hai ki ye swayam chalne wali sidhiyan hai, par hum ispe gaye nahi hai kabhi, hum gir gaye toh??"
(I know theyâre self-moving stairs, but Iâve never been on one before. What if I fall?)
Rudraksh noticed the hesitation in Ruhanika's steps and, without saying a word, gently placed his hand on her shoulders. With a soft, reassuring pull, he guided her closer to him.
Rudraksh: "main hu na Ruhh, kuch nahi hoga, aao tum."
(Iâm here, Ruhh. Nothing will happen to you.)
Ruhanika shook her head, still uncertain, but Rudraksh's encouraging smile and gentle support kept her grounded. He gave her an assuring nod, silently telling her that she had nothing to fear. With his help, she took the first step onto the escalator. As the escalator began to move beneath them, Ruhanikaâs initial fear melted away. Her scared expression slowly transformed into one of amusement as she realized she hadnât fallen, and the sensation was nowhere near as frightening as she had imagined. Rudraksh, noticing the change in her demeanor, couldnât help but chuckle at her reaction.
Ruhanika: "Hume toh kuch nahi hua."
(See? Nothing happened to me.)
Rudraksh: "Kaha toh tha."
(Told you so.)
Ruhanika grinned at Rudraksh, her eyes sparkling with newfound confidence. They reached the next floor, and as the escalator stopped, she instinctively reached for his hand, gripping it.
Ruhanika: "phir se chale kya ispe??"
(Can we go on it again?)
Rudraksh chuckled softly, his eyes filled with affection as he noticed the playful glint in Ruhanika's eyes. He reached out and flicked her nose gently.
Rudraksh: "Baadme, abhi chalo kapde nhi lene??"
(Later. For now, letâs go get the clothes, okay?)
Ruhanika: "Jii"
(Okay.)
As they entered the shop, Ruhanikaâs eyes scanned the space filled with just staff. Feeling a wave of unease, she instinctively moved closer to Rudraksh, hiding slightly behind him as she clutched his biceps. Noticing her discomfort, Rudraksh immediately wrapped his arm around her, pulling her gently into a side hug. He kissed her forehead softly.
Rudraksh: "Calm down Jaana, kuch nahi hoga."
(Calm down, dear. Nothing will happen.)
Ruhanika nodded but didnât let go of Rudraksh, still clinging to him as they moved forward through the store. The staff, mostly women, glanced at her curiously, their eyes lingering for a moment. Ruhanika felt a little out of place under their gaze, her brows furrowing as she looked around the store, trying to understand what had caught their attention. She gave a confused frown, trying to shake off the feeling that something was off.
Ruhanika: "Suniye"
(Listen)
Rudraksh looked at her.
Ruhanika: "Ye toh ladkiyo ke kapdo ki dukan lag rahi hai, chaliye dusre me jaate hai."
(This looks like a womenâs clothing store. Letâs go to another one.)
Rudraksh smiled warmly, his gaze softening as he cupped and caressed her cheek gently.
Rudraksh: "Nahi jaana, sahi shop hai ye, hum pehle aapke liye kapde lenge aur phir mere liye."
(No, dear, this is the right shop. Weâll pick something for you first, and then for me.)
Ruhanika: "Par aap humare liye itna sare kapde toh laaye hai."
(But youâve already gotten so many clothes for me.)
Rudraksh: "Karwachauth ke liye kuch naya lelo betu please."
(Please, Ruhh, get something new for Karwa Chauth. Please.)
Ruhanika couldnât bring herself to deny Rudrakshâs gentle plead. She nodded in agreement. Together, they walked towards the staff, her hand still nestled in his, feeling the quiet reassurance of his presence beside her.
Rudraksh: "Batao jaana kya chahiye??"
(Tell me, my love, what do you want?)
Ruhanika glanced around the store, taking in the surroundings with a slightly apprehensive look. Her eyes then shifted back to Rudraksh, and she pouted, clearly feeling unsure about something.
Rudraksh: "Kya hua Ruhh??"
(What happened, Ruhh?)
Ruhanika: "Hume bhabhi sa jaise kapde chahiye, jaisa aapke yaha pehente hai."
(I want clothes like Bhabhi sister-in-law wears, the ones worn at your place.)
For a moment, he was confused, unsure of what was going on. But then, it clicked him.
Rudraksh: "Punjabi Suit chahiye??"
(You want a Punjabi suit?)
Ruhanika nodded enthusiastically, her excitement shining through her smile. The joy in her expression was infectious, and it made Rudraksh chuckle softly.
Rudraksh: "show us some Punjabi suits."
Salesgirl: "Sure, sir."
Ruhanika: "Aksh Laal rang me"
(In red color.)
Rudraksh: "In red color."
The sales girls returned, each carrying a selection of elegant red dresses, their hands filled with options to present to Ruhanika. As they began to display the dresses, Ruhanika felt herself becoming more engrossed in the process, slowly beginning to lose herself in the excitement of choosing the perfect outfit. She held up each dress, occasionally glancing over at Rudraksh to seek his opinion, ensuring that his approval was part of her decision-making. As time passed, the apprehension that had gripped her earlier started to fade, replaced by a sense of ease and enjoyment in the moment. After a few moments of searching, Ruhanika finally found a dress she likedâone that seemed to capture her style perfectly. But as she looked around, she caught the eye of one of the sales girls, who was now openly staring at Rudraksh's chest. Her gaze lingered for a moment too long before Ruhanika's sharp eyes caught sight of the uncomfortable attention. Ruhanikaâs expression immediately shifted to one of mild irritation, her brow furrowing in disapproval. Without missing a beat, she turned Rudraksh away from the girlâs gaze, guiding him in the opposite direction as she felt the need to shield him from the unwanted attention. She couldnât help but feel protective of her husband, especially when someone seemed to be appreciating him a little too openly.
Ruhanika: "Kaisi kaisi ladkiya hai yaha, na jaane kaha kaha dekhti hai vo bhi dusre ke pati ko."
(Look at these kinds of girls here, staring even at someone else's husband.)
Rudraksh looked at Ruhanika, a bit confused, as she suddenly reached up and closed the top two buttons of his shirt. Her actions were subtle, but he couldnât miss the hint of jealousy in her eyes. A small smile tugged at the corners of his lips as he realized what was happening. He couldnât help but find her possessiveness endearing.
Rudraksh: "Ohho someone is getting jealous haa?"
Ruhanika: "Kon Aksh??"
(Who? )
Rudraksh chuckled softly, his eyes twinkling with amusement. He reached out and ruffled Ruhanikaâs hair affectionately.
Rudraksh: "Nothing chalo, mere kapde bhi toh choose karne hai tumhe."
(Nothing, come on. You also have to choose my clothes now.)
Ruhanika nodded excitedly, her smile wide as she led Rudraksh towards the men's section. Her eyes scanned the racks with purpose, and after a few moments, she pulled out a red kurta and patiala pants, holding them up with a proud grin. The color was perfect, and it complemented her own outfit beautifully. Rudraksh raised an eyebrow, a smile tugging at his lips. The salesboy, who had been quietly assisting them, couldnât help but notice the chemistry between the couple.
Sales boy: "Sir, your wife is really beautiful. You both look amazing together."
Ruhanika gave a small smile, but Rudraksh merely glared at him.
Rudraksh: "Ruhh, agle mahine se thand aa jayegi, chalo tumhare liye garam kapde lete hai."
(Ruhh, winter will start next month. Letâs buy some warm clothes for you.)
Ruhanika: "Areh par kyu?? Aapki hoodies hai toh sahi."
(But why? Your hoodies are enough, arenât they?)
Rudraksh let out a soft chuckle.
Rudraksh: "Jaana vahi pehen ke ghumogi kya??"
(My love, will you wear just those while roaming around?)
Ruhanika: "Haa toh"
(Yes, why not?)
Rudraksh: "you look cute betu, par vo kitne bade hai na tumhe chalo tumhari size ka lete hai."
(You look cute, but theyâre way too big for you. Letâs buy something in your size.)
Ruhanika: "Bade hai toh aap pehen lijiyega hum aapke bheetar aa jayenge."
(If theyâre too big, you can wear them, and Iâll just snuggle inside with you.)
Rudraksh: "Ruhhh"
Rudraksh spoke sternly, but his tone softened as Ruhanika giggled, the sound lightening the atmosphere. Rudraksh couldnât help but chuckle too, and soon both of them were laughing together as they moved towards other sections of the mall, picking out more clothes. At her insistence, they even bought outfits for every member of their family, each gift chosen with care.
Once they had everything, Rudraksh handed all the bags to his men, ensuring he remained by Ruhanikaâs side at all times. He noticed how much more relaxed she was now; her earlier anxiety had faded. She was no longer glued to him in fear but was beginning to enjoy the experience. Her curiosity had sparked, and she asked Rudraksh about various things around them, from the stores to the mall layout, and he answered each question patiently, enjoying the lighthearted exchange.
They made their way to the food court, where Rudraksh gently guided her to a chair and made sure she was comfortable. Ruhanika sat down, her eyes scanning the area with a mix of excitement and wonder. Rudraksh smiled at her, watching her closely to make sure she was okay. He was content in this moment, knowing that Ruhanika was slowly opening up to the world around her, step by step.
Rudraksh: "Kya khaogi betu??"
(What do you want to eat, my love?)
Ruhanikaâs eyes darted around the shop, taking in the vibrant counters and displays. Each counter bore a name, some elegant and others flashy, but all unfamiliar to her. She tilted her head slightly, curiosity glimmering in her eyes as she tried to process the variety of choices in front of her.
Ruhanika: "Hume toh kuch nahi pata hai yaha ka"
(I donât know anything about the food here.)
Rudraksh: "Umm burger try karogi??"
(How about trying a burger?)
Ruhanika: "Jo bhi aap chaahe."
(Whatever you decide.)
Rudraksh rose from his seat, ready to place the order, but before he could take a step, Ruhanika quickly stood up as well.
Rudraksh: "Kya hua Tum baitho na"
( What happened? Sit down, please.)
Ruhanika: "Nahi hum akele nahi baithenge."
(No, I wonât sit alone.)
Rudraksh felt a twinge of sadness seeing Ruhanikaâs lingering fear, but he quickly reminded himself not to push her. She was already stepping far out of her comfort zone, trying her best to face the situation. He decided to be patient, offering silent support instead of pressure.
They settled back. Once she was comfortable, he discreetly signaled his men to place their order. Understanding his unspoken command, they promptly attended to the task. Rudraksh and Ruhanika sat side by side, waiting for their order. Rudrakshâs hand rested lightly on hers, his thumb gently brushing over her knuckles in a reassuring rhythm.
Ruhanika: "Suniye"
(Listen...)
Rudraksh: "Sunaiye"
(Tell me.)
Ruhanika: "Ye jo aapke log hai kale kapdo me, inhone bhi toh nahi khaya hoga kuch inhe bhi keh dijiye kuch kha le"
(These people in black clothes who work for you, they probably havenât eaten anything either. Please ask them to eat something.)
Rudraksh's lips curved into a soft smile, touched by her genuine concern for his men.
Rudraksh: "Tum hi keh do jaana"
(Why donât you tell them yourself?)
Ruhanika: "Humm??"
(Meeee?)
Rudraksh nodded reassuringly, but Ruhanika couldnât shake off her nervousness. Summoning her courage, she turned toward Rudrakshâs men. Her eyes took in their imposing figuresâeach one with a strong, well-built physique, standing perfectly still and alert like statues. Their stoic demeanor only added to her unease, but she reminded herself that they were here for her and Rudrakshâs safety.
Ruhanika: "Umm Suniye bodygard bhaiya yaha aaiye"
(Umm... excuse me, bodyguard brother, please come here.)
One of Rudrakshâs men, catching her hesitant movements, glanced toward Rudraksh for guidance. Rudraksh gave a small, approving nod, silently instructing him. Understanding the unspoken command, the man stepped forward and approached Ruhanika, his demeanor calm yet professional.
Man: "Yes ma'am"
Ruhanika: "Aap log bhi kab se humare sath hi hai, aap bhi kuch kha lijiye."
(You all have been with us for so long. Please have something to eat too.)
The man was visibly touched by Ruhanika's concern, though he quickly hid his smile to maintain his composed demeanor. Glancing at Rudraksh for confirmation, he received a subtle nod, signaling approval.
Man: "yes ma'am."
The man left after a brief interaction, and moments later, another of Rudrakshâs men approached, carefully carrying their order. The tray was filled with burgers, golden fries, and an assortment of tangy snacks that gave off a mouthwatering aroma. Ruhanika's eyebrows furrowed as she stared at the spread in front of her. Confusion etched across her face, she glanced at Rudraksh, clearly puzzled.
Ruhanika: "Itna bada hai ye, ise khate kaise hai??"
(This is so big! How do you even eat this?)
Rudraksh chuckled softly.
Rudraksh: "Wait main khilata hu."
(Wait, Iâll feed you.)
Rudraksh carefully fed Ruhanika, ensuring she ate well, and took bites himself in between. They shared soft smiles and light banter, enjoying their lunch together. After finishing, they started heading back to the car. As they walked, Ruhanika instinctively clung to Rudraksh again, her earlier confidence replaced by a lingering touch of nervousness in the open space. Rudraksh didnât mind; he gently placed his hand on her back, silently reassuring her with his calm demeanor. Once they reached the car, Rudraksh helped her settle in before moving to the driverâs seat. He glanced at her and couldnât help but smile. Ruhanikaâs face was glowing with happiness, her eyes sparkling with the joy of exploration and accomplishment. Today had been a big step for herâfacing her fears and finding moments of delight in a new environment.
Ruhanika: "Suniya, hume kuch meetha khana hai ab"
(Listen, I want something sweet now.)
Rudraksh: "Done, chalo ice cream khane jate hai meri meethi meethi Ruhh"
(Done, letâs go get some ice cream my sweet Ruhh.)
Ruhanikaâs grin widened and Rudraksh couldnât help but chuckle at her infectious happiness. As he started the car and began driving, he noticed that Ruhanika's gaze was fixed on his hand, her attention unwavering. He smiled to himself, feeling her gaze on him, a sense of warmth spreading through him. Soon, they arrived at the nearby ice cream parlor, and Rudraksh carefully parked the car in a shaded spot.
Rudraksh: "Ruhh tum na baitho yaha main leke aata hu ice cream."
(Ruhh, you sit here. Iâll get the ice cream.)
Ruhanika: "Hum akele??"
(Alone?)
Rudraksh: "Sath aana hai??"
(Want to come with me?)
Ruhanika nodded enthusiastically, her excitement growing as they arrived at the ice cream parlor. Rudraksh simply smiled at her and unbuckled her seatbelt, his gesture gentle as he helped her out of the car. He moved ahead, holding the door open for her as they made their way inside together.
Rudraksh: "Kaunsa chahiye??"
(Which one do you want?)
Rudraksh noticed that Ruhanika hadnât responded, and when he looked over at her, he saw that she was staring at the wide array of ice cream flavors with wide, amazed eyes, completely lost in her thoughts. He couldnât help but chuckle at how overwhelmed she looked. Gently, he tapped her shoulder to snap her back to reality, a playful smile tugging at his lips.
Rudraksh: "Konsa chahiye??"
(Which one do you want?)
Ruhanika: "Thoda thoda sab le le kya?? Sab kitne pyaare lag rahe hai, hume sab khana hai."
(Should we get a little bit of everything? They all look so lovely; I want to try them all.)
Rudraksh: "Haa sab le lete hai so that tum bimaar ho jao hai na??"
(Sure, letâs get everything so that you can fall sick, right?)
Ruhanika pouted, clearly hoping to get a reaction from Rudraksh, but this time, he remained unaffected. He calmly placed an order for just two ice creams, making sure to keep things simple. With a slight grin, he handed her one as they made their way back to the car.
Rudraksh: "Jaana ye wali bhi pakadna toh."
(My love, hold this one too.)
Rudraksh handed his ice cream to Ruhanika to hold, and she took it with a smile. Without a word, he gently lifted her by the waist, helping her sit comfortably on the car bonnet. Ruhanika grinned at the gesture, and he positioned himself between her legs, both of them casually enjoying their ice creams together.
Rudraksh: "jaana thik ho na tum??"
(Are you okay, love?)
Rudraksh noticed the confusion on Ruhanika's face and, sensing her hesitation, he asked. Ruhanika paused for a moment, gathering her thoughts. After a brief silence, she looked up at him and asked.
Ruhanika: "Suniyee"
(Listen...)
Rudraksh: "Sunaiyee"
(Tell me.)
Ruhanika: "Umm kyaa... Kya ye humari pehli date hai??"
(Umm... is this our first date?)
Rudraksh looked at her with wide eyes, clearly surprised. He had never explicitly taught her to think about this.
Rudraksh: "Ye date and all kisne bataya tumhe??"
(Who told you about "dates"?)
Ruhanika: "Pehle bataiye na ye humari date hai???"
(Just answer me. Is this our date?)
Rudraksh: "Tum chahti ho??"
(Do you want it to be?)
Ruhanika nodded, and Rudraksh smiled warmly at her. Gently, he cupped her face in his hands, caressing her cheeks with tender fingertips.
Rudraksh: "Haa date hai"
(Yes, itâs a date then.)
Rudraksh noticed the sudden change in Ruhanika's expression as she pouted and looked upset.
Rudraksh: "Kya hua Jaan?? Date nahi chahiye??"
(What happened, love? Donât you want it to be?)
Ruhanika: "Agar ye date hai toh humne ab tak kiya kyu nahi??"
(If itâs a date, why havenât we done it yet?)
Rudraksh: "Kya nahi kiya??"
(Done what?)
Ruhanika: "Kiss, humne kiss kyu nahi kiya, date pe toh pati patni kiss karte hai na."
(A kiss. Donât couples kiss on dates?)
Rudrakshâs eyes widened in surprise as he looked at Ruhanika. He gulped, unable to fully process her words.
Rudraksh: "Rishi ne bataya hai na"
( Did Rishi tell you this?)
Ruhanika: "Iska matlab ye sach hai, par aapne Kiya nahi, aap hume buddu bana rahe the na ab tak."
(So itâs true, but you didnât kiss me. Were you fooling me this whole time?)
Rudraksh: "Jaan pehle batao kisne bola hai ye??"
(Love, first tell me, who told you this?)
Rudraksh had already finished his ice cream, he placed his hand on her waist.
Ruhanika: "Bhabhi sa ne bataya hai."
(sister-in-law told me)
Rudraksh let out a deep sigh, his eyes fluttering shut as he leaned back.
Rudraksh: "Bhabhi bhi na"
(Bhabhi... really?)
Rudraksh murmured under his breath, and Ruhanika called out to him, as she took another lick of her ice cream.
Ruhanika: "Boliye na kyu nahi kiya, kya aap bhul gaye the??"
(Tell me, why didnât you kiss me? Did you forget?)
Rudraksh looked at her, he realized she was already searching his eyes for answers but he wasn't able to say anything.
Ruhanika: "Koi baat nahi hum ye ice cream kha le phir kar lijiyega, thik hai."
(Never mind. Let me finish this ice cream, and then you can kiss me, okay?)
Ruhanika said excitedly, her voice full of joy, as she hurriedly finished her ice cream. Rudraksh couldnât help but chuckle at her enthusiasm. With a playful grin, he wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her closer. Ruhanika, thinking he was about to kiss her, pouted in anticipation. But instead of the kiss she expected, Rudraksh chuckled and gently pecked her pout. The simple gesture left Ruhanika blushing furiously, her cheeks turning a deep shade of red. She looked up at him, a mix of surprise and affection in her eyes, as she tried to hide her shy smile.
Rudraksh: "Ruhh, betu har date pe kiss karna zaruri nahi hota hai, ye toh couple pe depend karta hai ki unhe karna hai ya nahi."
(Ruhh, love, not every date has to include a kiss. It depends on the couple if they want to or not.)
Ruhanika: "Toh kya aapko hume kiss karna nahi hai??"
(So you donât want to kiss me?)
Rudraksh: "Jaana ye sab toh heat of the moment me ho jaata hai."
(Love, these things happen naturally, in the heat of the moment.)
Ruhanika: "Palon ki garmi me hota hai??"
(In the heat of the moment?)
Ruhanika asked, her gaze scanning the surroundings, realizing it was still daylight and quite hot. Rudraksh burst into laughter, his amusement evident. His men, who were standing with their backs to them, didnât turn around immediately, but they couldnât help but feel surprised by their leaderâs unexpected outburst.
Ruhanika: "has kyu rahe hai?? "
(Why are you laughing?)
Rudraksh: "Palon ki garmi, Jaana ye kya hai."
(Heat of the moment, love. What are you saying?)
Ruhanika: "Aap hi ne kaha heat of the moment toh."
(Thatâs what you said!)
Rudraksh: "Chodo ye sab chalo ghar chalte hai."
(Leave it. Letâs go home.)
Ruhanika: "Par humari kiss??"
(But what about my kiss?)
Rudraksh lowered his head onto her shoulder, pulling her into a warm embrace, his arms wrapping around her tightly as he held her close to his heart.
Rudraksh: "Yahi karna hai??"
(You want it here?)
Ruhanika glanced around and noticed Rudraksh's men nearby. She shook her head.
Ruhanika: "Nahi, yaha sab aapke log hai."
(No, not here. Everyone is here.)
Rudraksh: "Haa isiliye ab ghar chalte hai."
(hatâs why, letâs go home now.)
Ruhanika: "Ghar jaake karenge??"
(Will you kiss me at home?)
Rudraksh couldn't hold back and let out a chuckle, amused by her reaction.
Rudraksh: "Haa baba karunga tumhe kiss ghar jaake, chalo ab."
(Yes, my love, Iâll kiss you at home. Now letâs go.)
Ruhanika grinned and nodded, feeling his warm embrace. Rudraksh gently wrapped his arms around her waist, lifting her back to her feet before helping her into the car. They both settled in, and as they drove back home, a sense of contentment filled the air between them.
