(Rudraksh)

Few months later,

The RM Mansion was brimming with an air of excitement as everyone rushed to ensure everything was perfect. The workers were on their toes, swiftly preparing breakfast, knowing that today no one could afford to be late. After all, it was Ruhanika's first day of college—a milestone everyone was eager to celebrate. In the midst of this flurry, Ashvik was stationed in the kitchen, diligently preparing some of Ruhanika's favorite dishes. Nearby, Akshavi entered the room, her hair tied up in a casual bun adding to her radiant appearance. She wore a cream-colored suit, her hands adorned with traditional red chuda, a nuptial chain gracing her neck, and a delicate Vermillion mark adorning her hairline.

Ashvik and Akshavi had tied the knot just a few weeks ago, marking the beginning of a new chapter in their lives. Their marriage coincided with significant professional milestones for both of them. Akshavi had recently assumed the CEO position of her father’s business, a responsibility she had taken on with grace and determination. Despite the fresh start to their married life, the couple hadn't gone on a honeymoon. Ashvik had recently taken full control of Rathore Industries, stepping into the role of Chairman. His commitment to the company and its future left little room for a break, as he couldn’t entrust its management to anyone else in his absence. Ashvik’s transition from Malhotra Empires to Rathore Industries brought a reshuffling of leadership at Malhotra. Amandeep stepped into the role of Managing Director (MD) following Ashvik's departure. Rudraksh, recognizing Amandeep’s potential, offered him the CEO position as well, but Amandeep declined out of deference to his elder brother, Rishwik, believing that the CEO role rightfully belonged to him.

As a result, the leadership dynamics of Malhotra Empires evolved. Rishwik now held the dual roles of CEO and CTO, overseeing operations with his characteristic precision and innovation. Amandeep, on the other hand, not only served as MD but also secured a position on the company’s board with a shareholding stake, ensuring his significant involvement in its strategic direction.

Ashvik and Akshavi’s wedding was a story that became a cherished memory for everyone involved—a mix of spontaneity, love, and tradition that no one could forget. Ashvik worked tirelessly to ensure Akshavi’s dreams came true, demonstrating his unwavering love and dedication. The day of their marriage was nothing short of an emotional rollercoaster. Following the Haldi ceremony, Ashvik surprised everyone by whisking Akshavi away. He took her to a serene temple, where the two of them exchanged vows in an intimate and spontaneous ceremony, fulfilling Akshavi’s wish to have a private and personal moment just between them.

The act of “running away” for a temple wedding left Akshavi both shocked and thrilled. It was an experience she would treasure forever. The simplicity of the moment, filled with pure love and devotion, brought tears of joy to her eyes.

But the surprises didn’t end there. Later that night, the two of them returned home, where they had a grand traditional wedding, complete with all the rituals and blessings, surrounded by their families and loved ones. It was a perfect blend of intimacy and celebration—a testament to Ashvik’s ability to understand and balance Akshavi’s wishes with the importance of family traditions.

Akshavi stood at the door, her heart swelling with admiration as she watched her husband. Dressed casually in a grey t-shirt and black sweatpants, he moved around the kitchen with a quiet determination, preparing food for her sister. She knew how much he cared for everyone, but this gesture of making sure his sister didn't eat anything unhealthy from the canteen, knowing how easily she fell sick, spoke volumes about his love and attention. Her phone's camera clicked softly as she captured a few candid snaps of him, unable to resist. She smiled at the moment, feeling proud and content. As she moved toward him, she felt a warmth spread through her chest.

Akshavi: "Sugarpie, chef ko keh dete aap, khud banane kyu lag gaye jab aapko chapati banani nahi aati."

(Sugarpie, you could have told the chef to do it. Why are you trying to make it yourself when you don’t even know how to make chapati?)

Ashvik looked at her with a gentle smile, his eyes full of warmth. He bent down slightly and kissed her forehead, his lips lingering for a moment before he pulled away.

Ashvik: "Good morning janeman."

Akshavi: "Good morning, ab hatiye main bana deti hu."

(Good morning. Now, move aside; I’ll make it.)

Ashvik: "Nahi Shavi, tum thak jaogi tumhe office bhi Jana hota hai, vo chef isme ghee laga raha tha, teddy nahi khati aisa."

(No, Shavi. You’ll get tired, and you also have to go to the office. The chef was adding ghee to it, and Teddy doesn’t eat that.)

Akshavi: "Offo, chef ko pata hai ye baat, vo sambhal lega aap kyu tension le rahe ho."

(Oh, come on! The chef knows that. He’ll handle it. Why are you stressing over this?)

Ashvik: "Arehhh meri teddy pehli baar college ja rahi hai, I want everything to be perfect."

(Oh, my Teddy is going to college for the first time today. I want everything to be perfect.)

Akshavi gently took the rolling pin from his hands, her fingers brushing against his.

Akshavi: "Achcha hatiye main bana deti hu, ye aapka thailand ka naksha Ruhi vaise bhi nahi khayegi."

(Alright, move aside. Let me make it. Ruhi isn’t going to eat this Thailand map-shaped chapati you’ve made anyway.)

Ashvik glanced at the chapati he had just rolled, his lips forming a pout as he examined it. Akshavi chuckled softly, shaking her head in amusement, and then gracefully took over, beginning to prepare the rest of the chapatis with a skillful ease.

Meanwhile, in the living room, Savisha sat comfortably with a bowl of fresh fruits in her lap, playfully ordering everyone around. She insisted on making sure that everyone had their share and that everything was perfectly arranged, her playful commands filling the air as the others chuckled at her bossy demeanor.

Savisha: "Avya, car ready hai na, sab check Kiya hai na aapne??"

(Avya, is the car ready? Have you checked everything?)

Kartavya: "Aaho ji Mahiye, tussi shant ho jao chinta na kari."

(Yes, Mahiye, relax. Don’t worry.)

Rishwik: "Haan ji bhabhss, plus hum sab ja toh rahe hai na Angel ko drop karne."

(Yes, Bhabhi. Plus, we’re all going to drop Angel off anyway.)

Rishwik said casually while scrolling through his phone with full focus.

Savisha: "Phone me kya laga hai tu Rishi??"

(What are you looking at on your phone, Rishi?)

Rishwik: "Hairstyles dekh raha hu bhabhss, Angel ka first day hai pyaari lagni chahiye na bhabhi."

(Hairstyles, Bhabhi. It’s Angel’s first day; she should look lovely, right?)

Amandeep: "Haan ji bhabhi, aur college itna durr bhi nahi hai, kuch bhi raha hum jhatt se pohch jayenge."

(Absolutely, Bhabhi. And the college isn’t that far. If anything happens, we’ll reach there in no time.)

Amandeep said, entering the room after ensuring everything was in order. He had just finished checking on the security arrangements and confirming which bodyguards would be accompanying them.

Karanjeet: "Kuch vi raha da ki matlab hai? Meri bachchi pehli vaar college ja rahi hai, sab changa hi hovega! Nai taa eh college choose karan vaste, Rudraksh chittar khavenga mere toh!"

(What do you mean by "if anything happens"? My girl is going to college for the first time; everything will be perfect! Otherwise, Rudraksh will get a beating from me for choosing this college!)

Karanjeet said, settling down on the couch after his morning walk, wiping the sweat from his brow. Kartavya, noticing his exhaustion, handed him a glass of water with a gentle smile. Karanjeet took a sip, appreciating the cool relief as he relaxed.

Kartavya: "Khamakha hi tension le rahe ho tussi sare, meri little sunshine hun bahut samajhdaar ho gayi hai. Bahar jaan to dardi nahi, te self-defence training vi poori ho chuki hai usdi!"

(You all are stressing unnecessarily. My little sunshine has become quite mature now. She’s no longer afraid of going out, and she’s completed her self-defense training as well!)

Rishwik: "Phir vi, roz gym aundi hai bhai de uppar baith ke push-ups enjoy karan te mera protein shake peen layi!"

(Still, she comes to the gym daily, sits on Bhai’s back to enjoy push-ups, and drinks my protein shake!)

Amandeep: "Te mainu te Ashu bhai nu talwar baji 'ch buri tarah haravan layi vi!"

(And she’s beaten me and Ashu Bhai terribly in sword fighting as well!)

Everyone chuckled as they reminisced about Ruhanika's playful antics.

Savisha: "Ek baat achchi hai ki ab mere piche din bhar nahi rahegi ki bhabhi sa ye kha lo vo kha lo, bhai sa datenge n all."

(One good thing is she won’t be hovering around me all day anymore, saying, "Bhabhi, eat this or that," and Bhai won’t be scolding me.)

Kritika: "Vo main kar lungi bhabhi, aap 4 months pregnant hai ab toh aapki ek nahi chalni hai."

(I can take care of that, Bhabhi. You’re four months pregnant now, so you won’t have your way anymore.)

They all chuckled at Savisha's pout, and seeing her upset expression, Kartavya stepped in and pulled her into a comforting side hug. Savisha's frown quickly turned into a smile as she leaned into his embrace.

Karanjeet: "Achha Kriti puttar, tu aaj Aakarsh layi khana le ja, aaj usde chef di chhutti hai te mahashay subah hospital ton vapas aaye ne, thak gaya hovega."

(Alright, Kriti, dear. Take food for Aakarsh today. His chef is on leave, and he came back from the hospital this morning. He must be tired.)

Kritika: "Aahoo ji Dadu."

(Sure, Dadu.)

Kritika couldn't help but smile, a soft blush tinting her cheeks as she thought about meeting Aakarsh after five long days. The anticipation of seeing him again filled her with warmth. Aakarsh had recently moved into a home nearby RM Mansion, not wanting to trouble the family with his presence. Over the past few days, he had been buried in a relentless schedule, handling back-to-back surgeries and managing his responsibilities as the owner of the hospital. The demanding nature of his work had left him exhausted, but the thought of finally getting to spend some time with Kritika brought him a sense of relief.

Though neither of them had confessed their feelings outright, the connection between them was undeniable. They had both learned to communicate through the subtle exchange of glances, their eyes speaking volumes when words couldn’t. For now, that unspoken understanding was enough. They had found a comfort in this silent bond, each knowing what the other felt without the need for anything more. And that, for the time being, was all they needed.

Karanjeet: "Vaise ye Ruhi puttar kaha hai, jaana hai ki nahi college."

(By the way, where is Ruhi, dear? Doesn’t she want to go to college?)

In Rudraksh and Ruhanika's room,

Rudraksh was busy preparing Ruhanika’s bag, carefully gathering the scattered items she had left around during her study session the day before. He moved around the room, picking up notebooks, pens, and other bits and pieces, organizing them with his usual attention to detail. Meanwhile, Ruhanika, completely unaware of his efforts, was still fast asleep, curled up in bed and clutching a pillow, her peaceful expression undisturbed by the bustle around her.

Rudraksh: "Ruhhh, betu utho yaar pehle din hi late hona hai kya??"

(Ruhhh, baby, wake up, do you want to be late on your first day?)

Ruhanika didn't stir at all, lost in a deep sleep. Rudraksh smiled softly at her peacefulness before gently setting her college bag down on the couch. He moved closer to her, sitting beside her on the bed. With a tender touch, he caressed her head, brushing a strand of hair away from her face. He leaned down, planting a gentle kiss on her forehead, hoping to stir her awake.

Rudraksh: "Jaana, uth jao betu late ho jaogi."

(Come on, sweetheart, get up, or you'll be late.)

Ruhanika stirred slightly, her movements soft and gentle. She reached for Rudraksh's hand and placed it against her cheek, resting her face in his palm, as if instinctively seeking his warmth. Her eyes remained closed, her grip on his hand a silent plea for him to stay by her side a little longer.

Ruhanika: "Hume bahaut nind aa rahi hai, aaiye aap bhi so jaiye humare sath, hume akele achcha nhi lagta."

(We’re so sleepy, come and sleep with us. We don’t like being alone.)

Rudraksh: "Toh kisne kaha tha kal raat itna jaagne ko, itni baatein karti ho tum thak toh jaogi na."

(Then who told you to stay up so late last night? You talk so much; of course, you’ll get tired.)

Ruhanika shot Rudraksh a playful glare, and he immediately shut his mouth.

Rudraksh: "Achcha achcha sorry baba, ab uth jao nahi toh late ho jaogi, chalo. "

(Alright, alright, sorry, my dear. Now get up, or you'll be late. Come on!)

She smiled warmly and extended her hands forward. Rudraksh chuckled as he carefully lifted Ruhanika in his arms, feeling the warmth of her smile against his chest. She wrapped her arms around his neck, snuggling closer as he made his way toward the washroom.

Rudraksh: "Nautanki karva lo bas tumse"

(You’re such a drama queen.)

Ruhanika: "Zyada mat boliye aap, sab aapki galti hai aap waqt pe aate nahi hai isiliye hume deri huyi sone me."

(Don’t say too much. It's all your fault. You never come on time, and that’s why I slept late.)

Rudraksh gently placed Ruhanika on the bathroom slab, his hands on either side of her waist as he leaned in closer. She wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him even nearer.

Rudraksh: "Achcha jii, jhuthi you kiss addict girl, tumhari in touchy harkaton se jo main Roz late hota hu uska kya??"

(Oh, really? Liar. You’re the one who’s addicted to kissing. What about the times I get late because of your clingy antics?)

Ruhanika: "Aap boss hai aapko koi kuch nahi bolega, aur aap kehte hai hum aapki boss hai toh humse behes mat kijiye."

(You’re the boss. No one says anything to you. And you say I’m your boss, so stop arguing with me.)

Rudraksh chuckled softly as he rubbed his nose against hers, their faces so close that she could feel his breath. Ruhanika giggled, her dimples becoming even more prominent as she smiled. Not one to miss the opportunity, Rudraksh playfully poked her dimples, making her laugh even harder.

Rudraksh: "Chalo ab ready ho jao, main bahar hu, aapka bag bhi ready karna hai."

(Fine, get ready now. I’m waiting outside. I still need to pack your bag.)

Ruhanika: "Jo hukum huzoor-e-ala"

(As you command, my lord.)

Rudraksh shook his head with a playful smile and gently tapped on Ruhanika's head.

Rudraksh: "You and your stupid movies, pagal kar rakha hai Rishi aur Dadu ne tumhe."

(You and your silly movies. Rishi and Dadu have completely spoiled you.)

Ruhanika: "Kya keh rahe hai aap??"

(What did you say?)

Ruhanika frowned at him, clearly not pleased with his teasing, but Rudraksh quickly shook his head with an amused smile.

Rudraksh: "Nahi Mallika-e-Aksh kuch nahi."

(Nothing, my queen.)

Ruhanika’s cheeks flushed a deep red, a subtle sign of the changes that had taken place within her over the past few months. She had grown so much—no longer afraid to step out and explore the world beyond the walls of her home. She had started embracing western clothes, choosing styles that were fashionable yet not too revealing. Her perspective on life had broadened, and she began to understand things in a way she hadn't before. But even amidst all these changes, some things remained wonderfully the same.

For instance, whenever Rudraksh called her "Mallika-e-Aksh," a sweet nickname he had given her, her face would always turn crimson with shyness. No matter how much time passed, it still held the power to make her heart race. But there was something even more endearing about Rudraksh—his unwavering concern for her. Every month, when she went through her cycle and experienced pain, Rudraksh would be inconsolable. He couldn’t help but cry for her, unable to bear seeing her in discomfort. In fact, there were times when Ruhanika had to calm him down, hugging him gently and reassuring him that she was fine and that he didn’t need to cry.

Their bond had deepened over time. They had grown closer, their moments of tenderness and affection becoming more frequent. Their little world, filled with these sweet, quirky moments, felt like the safest and happiest place for both of them. Despite the growing intensity of their closeness, it was clear that they were more content than ever, happy in their small, cute world that was built on love, understanding, and the simplest of gestures.

Ruhanika: "Dekhiye ab aap keh rahe hai ki deri ho rahi hai, phir aisi baatein karenge ki hum sharma jaye, hum do kaam ek sath kaise kare??"

(See? Now you’re saying I’m late, but you talk in ways that make me blush. How am I supposed to do two things at once?)

Rudraksh: "Achcha ji, toh sharmana ek kaam hai meri Sohneyo ke liye."

(Oh, so blushing is one of your tasks now, my beautiful one?)

Ruhanika: "Aaho ji Sohneyo"

(Yes, absolutely, my besutiful one!)

Ruhanika’s enthusiasm for learning Punjabi was evident as she eagerly listened whenever someone spoke in the language. With every new word or phrase, she would quickly ask for its meaning and then repeat it, trying to engrave it in her memory. Whether it was a simple greeting or a phrase, she made a conscious effort to pick up the nuances of the language, delighting in every small victory of successfully memorizing a word or sentence. She often practiced with Rudraksh, asking him to correct her pronunciation, which brought a smile to his face every time she tried so hard to learn something new.

Rudraksh: "Ruhh, betu this Sohneyo is for girls."

Ruhanika: "Naiyoo ji, Sohneyo matlab Jo sundar ho, aur aap toh ati sundar hai, phir huye na aap bhi Sohneyo."

(Nope. It means someone beautiful. And you are so very beautiful. So, it fits!)

Ruhanika's admiration for her husband, Rudraksh, was endless, and she never missed an opportunity to remind him just how handsome he was. Every day, she would shower him with compliments, making sure he knew how much she cherished him. Despite hearing it so often, Rudraksh couldn't help but blush each time she flirted with him. As he took her toothbrush and carefully applied toothpaste, he couldn’t help but smile at the thought of her sweet affection.

Rudraksh: "Jaana kitni baar bola hai main handsome hu, sundar nahi."

(How many times do I have to tell you? I’m handsome, not beautiful.)

Ruhanika placed her hand firmly on her waist, her eyes narrowing as she glared at Rudraksh, clearly unimpressed by his antics.

Ruhanika: "Akkshhhh"

Rudraksh: "Haa haa main sundar hu."

(Okay, okay, fine. I’m beautiful.)

Rudraksh quickly corrected himself, realizing the playful glare in Ruhanika's eyes. He couldn't bear the thought of her being upset, even though she looked incredibly cute in her black and white panda print night suit. Her attempt at looking intimidating was impossible to take seriously, and he had to suppress his giggles.

Ruhanika: "Good boy, nahi nahi bad boy hai aap."

(Good boy—no, no, bad boy!)

Rudraksh handed Ruhanika the toothbrush, his fingers brushing lightly against hers. Then, with a mischievous smile, he leaned closer, his face hovering just inches from hers.

Rudraksh: "Achcha ji aur vo kyu??"

(Oh, really? Why bad?)

Ruhanika: "Aap gym ja ke aa gaye na, aur hume uthaya nahi, aaj hum baith nahi paye aap pe, aur humara protein shake bhi reh gaya."

(You went to the gym and didn’t wake me up. I didn’t get to sit on your back while you did push-ups, and I missed my protein shake.)

Rudraksh: "Ayy hayy tumhari toh duniya ujad gayi na betu?"

(Oh no, your whole world just fell apart, huh?)

Ruhanika: "Haan jiii"

(Yes, exactly.)

Ruhanika dramatically facepalmed herself, letting out an exaggerated whine. The sound of her playful frustration was enough to send them both into fits of laughter. Rudraksh chuckled warmly, his laughter filling the air, and Ruhanika couldn't help but join in, her cheeks flushed from the amusement.

Rudraksh: "Subah huyi nahi ki Rajkumari ji ke nakhre shuru, chalo now get ready fast."

(Morning hasn’t even started, and the princess’s tantrums have begun. Now get ready fast!)

Ruhanika: "ha toh aap jaiye na yaha se, aise adhure kapdo me ghum rahe hai humare samne, humari nazarein aap pe hi ja rahi hai na."

(Then leave, will you? Roaming around half-dressed in front of me, my eyes keep going to you!)

Rudraksh turned his face quickly, trying to hide his smile and the subtle pink tint that had crept onto his cheeks. He cleared his throat, attempting to regain some composure. After a moment, he looked back at Ruhanika, his eyes still glinting with amusement.

Rudraksh: "My dear wifey, these are vest and sweatpants not adhure kapde."

(My dear wife, this is just a vest and sweatpants, not half-dressed.)

Ruhanika: "My dear husband, humare liye toh ye adhure hi hai, par achche hai isme aapke manmohak hath puri tarah se dikhte hai hume."

(My dear husband, for me, this is half-dressed. But I like it because I get a clear view of your beautiful arms.)

Ruhanika muttered through the toothpaste, her words slightly muffled as she brushed her teeth. Rudraksh, leaning, chuckled softly, watching her in amusement.

Rudraksh: "Bas karo ab meri tareef, aur please taiyaar ho jao."

(Stop praising me now and please get ready.)

Ruhanika: "Ha toh jaiye na bahar."

(Then leave already!)

Ruhanika finished washing her mouth and turned to face Rudraksh, only to find him leaning even closer.

Rudraksh: "Kya main yahi nahi ruk sakta, tum hona apna ready."

(Why? Can’t I stay here while you get ready?)

Ruhanika lowered her head, a soft blush creeping across her cheeks as she placed her hands gently on his chest.

Ruhanika: "Ahh vo... Aap kyu sata rahe hai hume, hum jaldi se taiyaar hoke aa jayenge, aap bahar jaiye na Akshh."

(Oh, um... Why are you teasing me? I’ll get ready quickly if you leave, so go, Akshh!)

Rudraksh smiled warmly at Ruhanika's cute, adorable reaction, unable to resist her charm. He playfully nibbled on her cheek, causing her to blush even more, her cheeks turning a deeper shade of pink. He then leaned in, planting a gentle kiss on her forehead, his touch filled with affection. With a soft smile, he stepped out of the washroom, leaving her with a heart full of warmth and a smile on her face that lingered long after he left.

After a few moments, Ruhanika emerged from her room wearing a soft bathrobe, her clothes neatly folded and placed in the closet waiting for her to change. She moved effortlessly around the room, a calm yet focused energy about her as she began her skincare routine. With practiced hands, she massaged moisturizer into her skin, followed by a generous layer of sunscreen and nourishing serums. The small rituals had become part of her morning routine, a time for herself before the day truly began.

Once she finished, she quickly slipped into her outfit—comfortable yet stylish. A white tank top paired with beige pants, complemented by a brown checkered shirt that she casually left open. It was a look that was both simple and chic. Ruhanika tied her hair up with a claw clip, leaving her strands falling gracefully around her face. She opted for a minimal nude makeup look, just enough to enhance her natural beauty. She accessorized with statement jewelry—delicate earrings, a bracelet, and a watch that added a touch of elegance. Her neck chain and nuptial chain were already in place, though they remained hidden beneath her shirt, the subtle symbols of her commitment.

Satisfied with her appearance, Ruhanika sprayed a hint of perfume, the fragrance a soft, calming reminder of the little luxuries in life. She smiled at her reflection, pleased with how everything came together effortlessly.

Grabbing her comb, she quickly ran towards the door, eager to meet the day. As she hurried outside, she wasn’t looking ahead, her mind still on her thoughts. In a split second, she collided with Rudraksh, who was also dressed and ready for the day, looking incredibly sharp in a white shirt, a navy blue blazer, and matching pants—his office attire always impeccable. Before she could react or even regain her balance, Rudraksh instinctively reached out, his arms wrapping around her waist, pulling her securely against him.

Rudraksh: "Ruhh, kya hai ye betu, abhi gir jati na."

(Ruhh, careful! You almost fell just now.)

Ruhanika gave a sheepish smile, her cheeks flushing slightly, as she stood up straight.

Ruhanika: "Aksh hum kaise lag rahe hai?? Pehle din ke hisaab se sab thik hai na??"

(Aksh, how do I look? Is everything okay for the first day?)

Rudraksh looked at her from top to bottom, his smile widening as he admired her.

Rudraksh: "Ummm, kuch kami hai"

(Hmm, something’s missing.)

Ruhanika: "Achcha, kya hai vo bataiye??"

(Oh, really? What’s missing? Tell me!)

Rudraksh leaned closer, his breath warm against her skin, and gently pecked her cheek followed by her lips.

Rudraksh: "Bahaut pyari lag rahi hai aap Mallika-e-Aksh."

(You look so adorable, my queen.)

Ruhanika lowered her head, her cheeks flushed a deep shade of pink.

Rudraksh: "Haa bas ye jo Gaal laal huye hai na, isi ki kami thi."

(But these red cheeks? That’s what was missing.)

Ruhanika quickly wrapped her arms around him in a tight embrace, her heart still fluttering from the kiss. Rudraksh chuckled softly, enjoying the warmth of the moment and the way she clung to him. He hugged her back, his hands gently resting on her back as he held her close.

Rudraksh: "Offo jaana, ab tak aapko aadat nahi padi."

(Oh dear, even now you haven’t gotten used to this, have you?)

Ruhanika: "Aur ab bhi aapko hume satane me na jane kya mazaa aata hai."

(And yet you still enjoy teasing me. I don’t know why!)

Rudraksh: "khair, ye baal aise kyu hai, chalo bana deta hu."

(Anyway, what’s with your hair? Let me fix it.)

Ruhanika: "Nahiiii, humare baal Rishi Bhai banayenge."

(Noooo! My brother Rishi will fix my hair.)

Rudraksh: "Hadd hai yaar itni mushkil se tumhare liye sab sikha maine aur tum keh rahi ho Rishi banayega."

(Wow. I’ve learned so much just for you, and now you’re saying Rishi will do it?)

Ruhanika: "Haa unhone kaha tha humse isiliye, Varna unhe bura lagega, aap kal bana lena thik hai"

(Yes, he told me he would, and I don’t want to upset him. You can fix it tomorrow, okay?)

Ruhanika flashed a bright smile at Rudraksh before running outside, her excitement evident in her steps. Rudraksh watched her with a chuckle, shaking his head in amusement at her playful energy.

Rudraksh: "Pati ko bura lage uska kuch nahi, Rishi Bhai khush rehne chahiye inke."

(Oh, so it doesn’t matter if your husband is upset, but Rishi Bhai must stay happy?)

Rudraksh chuckled softly to himself and then walked into the closet.

Ruhanika: "Rishiiiii bhaiiiiiiiii"

Rishwik: "Aayaaaa Angelll"

(Coming, Angel!)

Ruhanika shouted from upstairs, her voice echoing through the house, and Rishwik, without missing a beat, replied from the kitchen. Rishwik quickly ran upstairs to Ruhanika , his concern evident in his steps. He cupped her face gently, his eyes filled with admiration.

Rishwik: "Oh ho, my Angel is looking so pretty!"

Ruhanika grinned as she held out the comb towards Rishwik.

Ruhanika: "Bhai humare baal."

(Bro, My hairs)

Rishwik: "Aaho ji, Angel, chalo main tuhade baal bana diyan."

(Of course, Angel. Let me fix your hair.)

Ruhanika: "Haa veere, aayo te mere baal banao."

(Yes, Veere, come and fix my hair!)

Rishwik: "Ohhoo, Punjabi to badi changi tarah Sikh Rahi hai meri Angel."

(Oh, wow, my Angel is learning Punjabi so well!)

Ruhanika: "Dhanyawad Bhai."

(Thank you, Bhai!)

Rishwik smiled as he finished styling Ruhanika's hair, his hands gently brushing through her locks before he tied her hair into a high ponytail, letting a few strands fall gracefully on her face. It was the perfect look to complement her outfit. After a few moments, he left the room, giving her a reassuring smile. As he walked out, Rudraksh entered, holding a pair of shoes in his hands. He walked over to Ruhanika with a soft smile, carefully placing the shoes by her feet.

Rudraksh: "Ruhh, shoes nahi pehne hai tumne, baitho vapas."

(Ruhh, you haven’t worn your shoes yet. Sit down.)

Ruhanika: "Areh hum pehenne hi wale the."

(I was just about to!)

Rudraksh: "Baitho Ruhh."

(Sit down, Ruhh.)

Rudraksh smiled as he gently helped Ruhanika into her white sneakers, his hands carefully adjusting them to fit perfectly. Once done, he stood up and extended his hand to her, offering it with a soft, reassuring smile. Ruhanika placed her hand in his, her heart fluttering as he helped her to her feet.

Rudraksh: "Perfect, ab bilkul ready ho tum."

(Perfect. Now you’re completely ready.)

Ruhanika: "Offo, aap bhi na kitne buddu hai."

(Oh, you’re such a silly man!)

Rudraksh: "Ab maine kya kiya??"

(What did I do now?)

Ruhanika: "Hum abhi taiyaar nahi hai."

(I’m still not ready.)

Rudraksh: "Aur kya bacha hai??"

(What’s left now?)

Ruhanika: "Rukiye."

(Wait a second)

Ruhanika rushed out of the closet with a playful smile, holding a small box in her hand. She extended her arm towards Rudraksh, offering the box with a twinkle in her eyes.

Ruhanika: "Mang toh bhari nahi aapne aaj."

(You haven’t filled my parting with sindoor today.)

Rudraksh smiled gently, his eyes filled with affection, as he cupped her face in his hands

Rudraksh: "Jaana, college ja rahi ho tum, vaha tumhare tarah log shadi shuda nahi honge, kisi ne pucha."

(Sweetheart, you’re going to college. There, people won’t be married like you. What if someone asks?)

Ruhanika frowned, her expression shifting to one of frustration as she shot a glare at him.

Ruhanika: "ab koi humari tarah shadi shuda nahi hai tum isme humari galti thodi hai, hum keh denge aap pati hai humare, isme chupana kaisa??"

(So what if no one’s married like me? That’s not my fault. I’ll just say you’re my husband. Why hide it?)

Rudraksh: "Tum samjhi nahi Ruhh, aaj kal ke bachche aise rehte hai kaise batau tumhe."

(You don’t understand, Ruhh. Kids these days, how do I explain.)

Ruhanika: "Mat bataiye, sirf sindhoor bhariye mang me, baaki hum sambhal lenge sab."

(Don’t explain anything. Just fill my parting with sindoor. I’ll handle everything else.)

Rudraksh's heart swelled with pride as he filled Ruhanika's hairline with the traditional mark. Though a part of him was concerned about how her classmates might react to her being married, his trust in her was unwavering. He knew that Ruhanika was not just his equal but someone who could hold her own in any situation. His belief in her strength and confidence only grew stronger with each passing day. Ruhanika grinned at him, her face radiating happiness. She dashed back to the closet and returned moments later, carefully placing a small box inside her vanity.

Ruhanika: "Aapne humara bag ready kar diya??"

(Did you pack my bag?)

Rudraksh: "Haan ji Mallika-e-Aksh, ab niche chale??"

(Yes, my queen. Shall we go downstairs now?)

Ruhanika: "Jiii."

(Yes.)

Ruhanika gently held Rudraksh's hand as they made their way down together, the warmth of his touch comforting her.

With a burst of energy, she ran ahead and threw her arms around Akshavi, who was busy preparing the dining table. Akshavi smiled warmly, pausing for a moment to return the embrace, her hands still occupied with arranging the plates.

Ruhanika: "Akshu bhabhi hum kaise lag rahe hai??"

(Akshu bhabhi, how do I look?)

Akshavi: "Areh waah, meri nanad rani toh kitni pyaari lag rahi hai."

(Wow, my dear sister-in-law looks so pretty!)

Ruhanika grinned.

Ashvik: "Waah Ruhi chuhi aaj insaan lag rahi hai."

(Wow, Ruhi mouse actually looks human today.)

Ashvik chuckled while pulling Ruhanika into a side hug and teasingly said. Ruhanika narrowed her eyes at him and punched him lightly on his stomach, making him laugh.

Ruhanika: "Hum chuhi nahi hai, Dadu se shikayat lagayenge toh aapko chittar padenge."

(I'm a not mouse. I’ll complain to Dadu, and then you’ll get scolded.)

Ashvik chuckled softly, shaking his head at the scene before him. Just then, Karanjeet entered the room.

Karanjeet: "bata puttar kiski class leni hai."

(Tell me child, whom I have to teach lessons)

Ruhanika approached Karanjeet with a gentle smile and bent slightly to take his blessings, but he quickly stopped her, placing his hand lightly on her shoulder. Instead, she smiled warmly and leaned in to give him a side hug.

Ruhanika: "Bhaiyu ki dadu hume chuhi keh rahe hai."

(Bhaiyu, Dadu! He’s calling me a mouse.)

Karanjeet: "Khotya biwi ke samne pitna chahta hai kya."

(Fool, do you want to get scolded in front of your wife?)

Ashvik rolled his eyes at Karanjeet's comment, earning a round of chuckles from everyone in the room. Amid the lighthearted moment, Rishwik gently placed his hands on Ruhanika's shoulders and guided her to sit on a nearby chair.

Rishwik: "Nashta karo pehle tum Angel, nahi toh thanda ho jayega."

(Angel, eat breakfast first; otherwise, it’ll get cold.)

Rishwik carefully placed the plate in front of her, serving her breakfast.

Savisha: "Haa aaj nashta Akshu ne banaya hai."

(Yes, today Akshu made breakfast.)

Savisha spoke softly as Kartavya gently helped her to sit down, his movements careful and considerate. Kritika took a seat beside Ruhanika, offering her a warm smile.

Kritika: "Ruhii, aaj first day hai toh naye dost banana, but ha best friend main hi rahungi tumhari okay??"

(Ruhi, today is your first day, so make new friends, but remember, I’ll always be your best friend, okay?)

Ruhanika: "Ji didi aap hi hai."

(Yes, Didi, you’re my best friend.)

Kartavya: "Little sunshine mujhe bhul gayi??"

(Little sunshine, have you forgotten me?)

Ruhanika: "Aap toh Bhai saa hai na humare."

(But you’re like my elder brother.)

Kartavya: "Sabko khush karna changi tarah aunda hai isnu."

(She knows how to please everyone so well.)

Ruhanika: "Hun Mainu thodi punjabi bhi aundi hai ab veere."

(Now, I even know a little Punjabi now, brother)

Laughter echoed around the room as they all chuckled, the lighthearted atmosphere setting the tone for the morning. Soon, everyone settled down for breakfast, the table filled with warmth and cheerful chatter.

Rudraksh: "Ruhh araam se itni der bhi nahi ho rahi hai."

(Ruhi, take it easy; we’re not that late.)

Noticing Ruhanika eating hurriedly, Rudraksh gently interrupted.

Ruhanika: "Abhi kuch der pehle toh keh rahe the ki late ho raha hai, ab keh rahe hai nahi, kya matlab hai ye??"

(Just a moment ago, you said we were getting late, and now you’re saying we’re not. What does this mean?)

Rudraksh: "Areh baba tum chodo sab aur araam se Khao."

(Don’t worry about all that; just eat peacefully.)

Ruhanika: "Agar hum deri se pohche toh daant padegi na, ab college aapka toh hai nahi."

(If I get late, I’ll get scolded, won’t I? After all, it’s not your college.)

Everyone halted mid-bite, their gazes fixed on Rudraksh, who seemed entirely unfazed as he focused on feeding Ruhanika with utmost care. Feeling the weight of the stares, Ruhanika glanced around in confusion, her brows furrowing slightly.

Ruhanika: "Kya hua??"

(What happened?)

They all shook their heads with a mixture of amusement and disbelief, choosing to continue their breakfast. Unbeknownst to Ruhanika, her innocent statement had hit the mark. Rudraksh was indeed one of the trustees of her college. The moment he had decided to enroll her there, he had acquired a major percentage of its ownership, ensuring she would have nothing but the best opportunities and support. However, Rudraksh had kept these details hidden from Ruhanika, preferring to quietly ensure her happiness and success without burdening her with the knowledge of his actions.

Soon, everyone finished their breakfast. Ashvik, in a hurry, ran into the kitchen and returned with a water bottle and a tiffin box in hand. He then took Ruhanika's bag from Rudraksh, carefully placing the tiffin and bottle inside it. His actions were quick and efficient, ensuring everything was packed for the day ahead.

Ashvik: "Chuhii, beta tiffin diya hai, toh bahar ka kuch mat khana Varna bimaar pad jayegi, also bottle bhi hai toh barabar pani pite rehna."

(Mouse, I’ve packed your tiffin, so don’t eat outside food; otherwise, you’ll get sick. And drink water regularly.)

Ruhanika: "Ji Bhaiyuuu."

(Yes, Bhaiyuu.)

Rishwik: "Angel come."

Ruhanika smiled warmly aand went to  Rishwik, who began giving her a series of advice, "Apna khayal rakhna, kuch ho toh call karna," and other reminders. His concern was evident in every word he said. Meanwhile, Rudraksh shot a playful yet sharp glare at Ashvik.

Ashvik: "Kya??"

(What?)

Rudraksh: "Pura canteen tune khud change kiya tha na, chef bhi khud choose Kiya hai phir bhi??"

(You changed the whole canteen, hired the chef yourself, and still?)

Ashvik: "Ha toh kya hua, chup kar tu."

(So what? Shut up.)

Rudraksh shook his head with a bemused smile at his best friend's antics.

Akshavi: "Rudra bhai vo toh inka bas nahi chalta, Varna ye Ruhi ke sath class me bhi baith jaye."

(Rudra Bhai, if he had his way, he would’ve attended Ruhi’s classes with her.)

Akshavi let out a soft chuckle, but quickly stopped when she caught the amused glances of Rudraksh and Ashvik, who were both looking at her with raised eyebrows.

Akshavi: "What??"

Ashvik: "Jise tum mere bare me bol rhi ho, vo khud kal raat keh raha tha ki soch raha hu main bhi admission lelu."

(The one you’re teasing me about was saying just last night that he’s thinking of taking admission too.)

Akshavi was taken aback, her eyes widening in surprise, while Savisha couldn't help but chuckle softly, clearly enjoying the moment as she listened to everything unfold.

Savisha: "Relax Akshu, ye dono hi sirf pagal nahi hai... Aman ne toh college ke samne bodygard laga rakhe hai, aur ye mere patidev ye jaake teacher's ka interview lekar aaye ki kahi un logo ko kuch aata hai ya nahi."

(Relax, Akshu. These two aren’t the only crazy ones. Aman has posted bodyguards outside the college, and my husband even interviewed the teachers to check if they’re qualified.)

Akshavi: "Whattt????"

Akshavi suddenly shouted, her voice sharp and surprising, causing everyone at the table to look up at her in unison.

Ruhanika: "Kya hua bhabhi??"

(What happened, Bhabhi?)

Kartavya: "Kuch nahi little sunshine aise hi, chalo late ho raha hai na ab."

(Nothing, little sunshine, it’s fine. Let’s go; we’re getting late.)

Ruhanika: "Jiii"

(Okay.)

Rudraksh gently placed his hand on Ruhanika's shoulder, a comforting gesture that brought a sense of warmth. Ashvik, not missing a beat, held her hand reassuringly, his concern for her clearly evident. As Rishwik dashed off to bring the cars, Karanjeet and Kartavya remained at home. With Savisha being left alone after Akshavi departed for her office and Kritika heading to Aakarsh's place, the house would feel quieter.

Akshavi: "Bhabhi, pakka is Rishi ne bhi kuch kiya hoga but hume pata nahi hai abhi."

(Bhabhi, I’m sure even Rishi must’ve done something, but we just don’t know about it yet.)

Savisha: "For sure."

The moment Ruhanika stepped outside, she was greeted by the sight of Amandeep already waiting by the car, ready to take them to her college. The men, dressed in their usual professional attire, stood behind in other cars, ensuring everything was in place for Ruhanika’s first day. Rudraksh, ever the protective and caring husband, opened the car door for her with a warm smile. Ruhanika, feeling a bit of excitement and nervousness, sat down, and as soon as she did, Rudraksh took the seat beside her. On the other side, Ashvik joined them, sitting next to his sister. Rishwik, slid into the passenger seat, while Amandeep took the driver’s seat. The car was filled with a sense of purpose as the ride began, and the four of them seemed to be giving Ruhanika a barrage of advice. Ruhanika, sitting in the middle of the circle of advice, couldn't help but smile at how much they cared for her. She felt a sense of warmth and security knowing that she had the full support of her family.

Ruhanika: "Areh baba basss, hum samajh gaye hai. Aksh hum apna khayal rakhenge, bhaiyuu hum kha lenge time pe, Rishi Bhai hum karenge har ghante me aapko call, aur Aman bhaiya koi bhi problem huyi toh hum bata denge aapko."

(Oh, stop it, everyone. I get it. Aksh, I’ll take care of myself. Bhaiyuu, I’ll eat on time. Rishi Bhai, I’ll call you every hour. Aman Bhaiya, if there’s any problem, I’ll let you know.)

After Ruhanika scolded all of them, they all fell silent, knowing better than to argue further. The atmosphere shifted from playful to quiet, with everyone settling down as they continued their journey. Soon enough, they reached the college. Ruhanika's gaze lingered on the towering college gate and the impressive building behind it. The excitement of starting something new mixed with a wave of nervousness, causing her palms to sweat. As the nerves took hold, she turned to Rudraksh for reassurance. His calm and steady presence offered a sense of comfort, and she found herself seeking strength from him.

Ruhanika: "Hum kar lenge na ye Aksh??"

(I’ll manage, right, Aksh?)

Rudraksh gently reached out and took her hand, his thumb softly caressing her palm as a calming gesture.

Rudraksh: "Tum kar sakti ho Ruhh, chinta nahi Karo."

(You can do it, Ruhi. Don’t worry.)

Ashvik gently placed his hand on her shoulder, prompting her to turn towards him. With a soft smile, he caressed her head tenderly, offering a quiet moment of comfort.

Ashvik: "Chinta mat kar itna, tu kar sakti hai itne din se excited thi ab nervous nahi hote beta, sab achcha hoga."

(Don’t worry so much. You’ve been excited for so many days; don’t get nervous now. Everything will be fine.)

Rishwik: "Exactly Angel, tum toh hum sabki strong Ruhii ho na."

(Exactly, Angel, you’re our strong Ruhi, aren’t you?)

Ruhanika: "Nahi sabki nahi Aksh ki toh hum Ruhh hai na."

(Not everyone’s Ruhi, though. I’m Aksh’s Ruhh, right?)

They chuckled softly at her habit of taking everything literally, finding amusement in her innocent yet endearing way of interpreting things.

Amandeep: "Achcha chalo ab chalte hai."

(Okay, let’s go now.)

They all stepped down from the car, and as Ruhanika looked at the gate, a wave of nervousness was visible on her face. Despite the butterflies in her stomach, she forced a smile, determined to face whatever lay ahead. Her nervousness was clear, but her smile remained steady, showing her strength and resolve.

Rudraksh: "Go on meri Rajkumari, pehla kadam aapke sapno ki taraf."

(Go on, my princess. This is your first step towards your dreams.)

Ruhanika smiled.

Ashvik: "I'm proud of you tingu, Darna nahi hum sab hai na beta."

(I’m proud of you, Tingu. Don’t be scared; we’re all here for you.)

Ruhanika: "Ji bhaiyuu aur hum tingu nahi hai."

(Bhaiyuu, I’m not short)

Rishwik: "Achcha baba, badi ho gayi ho tum. Now relax and go."

(Alright, alright, you’ve grown up. Now relax and go.)

Amandeep: "Areh baba bag toh lelo."

(Oh, wait! Take your bag.)

Amandeep gently took her cute peach-colored bag from the car and handed it to her with a warm smile. Ruhanika accepted it gratefully, her smile widening as she looked at him.

Ashvik, Rudraksh, Rishwik, Amandeep (together): "Go on, Ruhiiii!"

Ruhanika grinned, and Rudraksh couldn't resist poking her dimples, causing her to giggle. She took her first step forward, ready to go, but then instantly turned around and wrapped her arms around Rudraksh in a tight hug. He smiled warmly, his arms enveloping her as he kissed her forehead.

Just as the sweet moment continued, Ashvik cleared his throat, his tone playful yet tinged with jealousy. Ruhanika chuckled and quickly went over to give him a hug. But before she could pull away, Rishwik cleared his throat too, and she couldn't help but laugh as she gave him a hug as well.

Ruhanika: "Aman bhaiya aap aise jhuth muth ki khasi nahi karna hum aapko bhi Huggie dete hai."

(Aman Bhaiya, don’t pretend to cough; I’ll give you a hug too.)

They all chuckled at the moment, and Ruhanika, feeling the warmth of their camaraderie, pulled Amandeep into a hug as well.

Ashvik: "Achcha chal ab jaa"

(Alright, go now.)

Ruhanika: "Jii"

(Okay)

With a final wave of goodbye, Ruhanika stepped inside the college gate, her heart still full of warmth from the affectionate moments shared. The men, standing tall with a slight smirk on their faces, put their shades on in unison, their confidence radiating as they watched her walk away.

Rudraksh: "Aman."

Amandeep: "Security has been checked, bodyguards are in place, but no one will disturb Ruhi’s privacy. They’ll stay outside the college entrance."

Ashvik: "Good. What about the chef?"

Amandeep: "Yes, he arrived before us and knows exactly how Ruhi likes her coffee."

Rudraksh: "I hope the students’ background checks are done."

Amandeep: "Yess bhai, but there are few ameer baap ki bigadi aulaadien, but nothing to worry they in different departments. "

(Yes, Bhai, but there are a few spoiled rich brats, though they’re in different departments.)

Rudraksh: "Good for them."

Rishwik: "Okay, now let’s go to the office."

Rishwik was about to sit in the car when Rudraksh swiftly grabbed him by the neck and turned him to face him. His grip was firm, but there was a playful glint in Rudraksh's eyes.

Rudraksh: "Ruhh ko college me privacy dene ki baat huyi thi, so that she can make friends on her own."

(We agreed to give Ruhi privacy at college so she can make friends on her own.)

Rishwik: "Haa janta hu, toh??"

(Yeah, I know. So?)

Rudraksh: "Rishiiiii"

Rishwik: "Haa bhai?"

(Yes, Bhai?)

Rudraksh: "Rishwiikkkkkk"

Rishwik: "Areh yaar bhai, Angel pehli baar akele gayi hai, mujhe tension ho rahi thi isiliye un do female bodygards ko appoint kiya hai. Don't worry unki age bhi Angel jitni hai vo friends ban ke hi Angel ko protect karengi, aur Angel ko kuch pata bhi nahi chalega."

(Oh, come on, Bhai! Angel is going alone for the first time. I was nervous, so I appointed two female bodyguards. Don’t worry, they’re Ruhi’s age and will protect her as friends. Ruhi won’t even know.)

They all shook their heads, amused by his protectiveness. It was a familiar sight by now, but they couldn't help but smile at how much Rudraksh cared.

Rudraksh: "Ask them to be careful. Ruhhh shouldn’t find out about this."

Rishwik nodded in agreement, and with that, they all left together from there.

On the other side, Kritika stood by the door, waiting for Aakarsh to open, but after several minutes with no response, she rang the bell again, her patience starting to wear thin.

Kritika: "Ye phir ghode bech ke so Raha hai pagal."

(This one is sleeping like a log again, such a crazy person.)

Kritika took out the spare keys that Aakarsh had given her. With a quick turn of the lock, she opened the door but as the door creaked open, her eyes widened in disbelief. The entire living room looked as though a small tornado had swept through it. Aakarsh's doctor’s white coat was casually draped over one couch, his shoes scattered haphazardly on the floor, and his stethoscope lay abandoned on the center table. His bag was carelessly tossed beside the couch, and to her disbelief, his socks were perched on the headrest of the couch. It was a scene of complete disorder

Kritika couldn’t help but shake her head in disbelief, a small smile tugging at her lips despite the mess. Aakarsh’s clumsiness was something she had gotten used to, but every time it caught her off guard, it never failed to surprise her. She moved further into the apartment, stepping over scattered items as she made her way toward the living room. There, on the couch, she found Aakarsh. He had fallen asleep in his formals—a pair of grey pants and a crisp white shirt. His body was sprawled across the couch in a way that made it clear he had passed out from exhaustion. His face was pressed against a cushion, with one arm flung above his head and the other hand lazily resting on the floor, palm kissing the carpet. His watch lay beside his hand, a silent testament to his hurried state. His legs, long and lanky, couldn’t even fit on the couch properly, and instead of lying comfortably, they were draped over the armrest. On the center table, an open packet of salad remained, untouched and forgotten, evidence that he had ordered it but was too tired to finish.

Kritika: "Hayy rabba, is ziddi doctor ko doctor banaya kisne, harkatein dekho 2 saal ke bachche tarah. Sab faila rakha hai pagal."

(Oh, God! Who made this stubborn doctor a doctor? Look at his habits—acts like a two-year-old child. Everything is scattered around, such a mess!)

Kritika shook her head in disbelief as she started gathering Aakarsh’s scattered belongings, placing them back in their rightful places. His coat, which had been carelessly draped across the couch, was now neatly hung over the back of a chair. The stethoscope was placed on the table, and his shoes were arranged back near the door, away from the middle of the room. As she picked up his white coat, she glanced at it for a few moments, deep in thought. Then, shaking her head with a small, amused sigh, she made her way towards his bedroom, hoping to find some semblance of order there. But, to her utter shock, the bedroom was just as chaotic. The bedsheets were wrinkled and crumpled, the duvet carelessly tossed onto the floor, and a collection of used clothes was strewn over the couch. The sight was enough to make her exhale in frustration.  With a resigned sigh, Kritika rolled up her sleeves and began cleaning the room. She started with the bed, smoothing out the bedsheets with determined precision. Next, she folded the duvet and placed it back neatly on the bed, before tidying up the books scattered on the shelves. It felt like an endless task, but she couldn't stop herself from doing it, almost as if it had become second nature to care for him in this way.

As she moved to the couch to collect his clothes, she paused when her eyes landed on the pile. Kritika's face flushed a deep shade of pink as she accidentally picked up Aakarsh's innerwears along with his discarded clothes. She quickly dropped everything back onto the couch, muttering to herself in embarrassment.

Kritika: "Chiii Ganda aadmi, kaise rehta hai ye... Main kaise manage karungi is pagal ke sath."

(Ugh, what a dirty man. How does he live like this? How will I manage with this crazy person?)

Kritika left the clothes on the couch and walked over to the vanity, which was filled with an array of hair care and skin care products. She chuckled softly.

Kritika: "Ladkiyo se zyada shaukh hai iske."

(He’s more obsessed with things than girls are.)

Kritika gazed at her reflection in the mirror, her fingers gently tracing the fabric of the doctor's coat in her hands. She slipped it on, wrapping it around herself, and couldn't help but hug herself, inhaling the familiar fragrance that lingered on the coat. A soft smile tugged at her lips as she looked at herself in the mirror, the sight of her blush warming her cheeks.

Kritika: "Kya kar diya hai tumne ziddi doctor, pasand karne lagi hu tumhe main."

(What have you done to me, stubborn doctor? I think I’ve started liking you.)

She then remembered that it was already lunchtime and he must be hungry. Carefully, she placed his coat and the rest of his clothes on the couch before heading to the living room. There, she found him peacefully sleeping. She bent down, gently brushing the strands of hair away from his face, a soft smile playing on her lips as she admired him.

Kritika: "Pagal ho bilkul."

(You're completely insane.)

Kritika chuckled, but then she shook him.

Kritika: "Ziddi doctor, uthoo"

(Stubborn doctor, wake up!)

Aakarsh barely stirred , turning his face away with a groggy expression before promptly drifting back to sleep

Kritika: "Arshhh"

Aakarsh smiled softly and then turned his face back toward her, signaling that he had heard her from the start. She understood that he had been paying attention all along.

Kritika: "Natak karna nahi chodoge na tum."

(You won’t stop pretending, will you?)

Aakarsh: "Meethiye, aap janti hai aapke muh se Arsh sunne ke liye main kuch bhi kar sakta hu."

(sweetheart, you know I could do anything just to hear you call me "Arsh.")

Aakarsh's eyes remained closed as he spoke in his sleepy voice, the words barely audible but still carrying a certain warmth. Kritika could feel the shiver run down her spine as she remembered the time when he had scolded her for being careless, and she had lost the argument. In her frustration, she had called him "Arsh" just to end the discussion, and from that moment, he had playfully demanded that she only call him "Arsh" if she wanted him to listen to her.

Kritika: "Chalo ab ye kaise soye ho, Utho, khana layi hu utho."

(Come on now, look at how you’re sleeping. I’ve brought food. Get up.)

Aakarsh woke up lazily, stretching his arms as he let out a small yawn.

Kritika: "Go and freshen up, main khana lagati hu."

(Go and freshen up. I’ll set the table.)

Aakarsh blinked a few times, and made his way to his room. As soon as he entered, a smile crept onto his face upon seeing that the room had been neatly cleaned. He immediately knew that his beloved Pari must have done it, a gesture that always warmed his heart. However, as he moved toward the washroom, he paused, noticing clothes scattered on the couch. A look of confusion crossed his face.

Aakarsh: "Arehhh har baar hata deti hai, aaj nahi hataya, koi baat nahi."

(Every time she place them too, bout not this time, no problem.)

Aakarsh went to grab his clothes and, as he reached for his innerwear, he suddenly felt his cheeks flush with heat. Embarrassment washed over him, and he awkwardly rubbed his neck, trying to shake off the sudden self-consciousness.

Aakarsh: "Aakarsh bhai, sudhar khudko, nahi toh in harkaton se pit jayega kisi din."

(Aakarsh, dude, fix yourself, or with these habits, you’ll get beaten up someday.)

Aakarsh took his dirty clothes, sorted them out, and placed them in the laundry basket before heading to the washroom to freshen up. After a quick shower, he felt rejuvenated and ready for the day. Once he was done, he returned to the living room and noticed Kritika sitting patiently, waiting for him. He smiled warmly and took his seat beside her. They both began their lunch, sharing a quiet, comfortable moment together.

Aakarsh: "Ahh meethiye, vo main is weekend free hu, ek ghar dekhne Jana hai, tum chalogi??"

(Ah, Meethiye, I’m free this weekend. I need to look for a  house. Will you come with me?)

Kritika: "ghar matlab?"

(House? What do you mean?)

Aakarsh: "Yehi apartment chota hai, I was looking for a bunglow."

(Just this—this apartment is small. I was looking for a bungalow.)

Kritika: "Areh par kyu??"

(But why?)

Aakarsh: "Kyu matlab?? Main tumhe itne chote se ghar me lek...."

(Why? I can’t bring you into such a small house...)

Kritika glanced at Aakarsh, a playful smile tugging at her lips, but she quickly hid it behind a casual expression. She knew exactly what he was up to—searching for a new house for both of them. Aakarsh had been subtly hinting at it for a while now, and although he hadn’t said it outright, she could sense his excitement and determination in the little things he did.

Kritika: "Okay, chalte hai dekhne."

(Okay, fine. Let’s go and see it.)

Aakarsh couldn't help but grin in happiness, his heart swelling with excitement, but he quickly controlled his emotions, not wanting to show too much. He looked at Kritika, his gaze softening as he admired how effortlessly she made him feel at ease. He always appreciated how comfortable she made him feel, no matter what was going on around them. Kritika, in turn, loved the way he could be both strong and gentle, always finding ways to make her feel secure and cherished. Her heart fluttered just being in his presence, knowing that their bond was growing stronger with each passing day.
