Chapter 2012 - Resentment
The Bumpy Road of Marriage: Divorce Now, Daddy
âOf course itâs none of my business. As I said, Le Tian will thank me one day. Sheâll thank me for keeping her away from someone like youâtrashy good-for-nothing,â Mu Qi said as she walked past Dong Feng.
Dong Feng clenched his fists tightly. Le Tian had long disappeared into the distance, while Mu Qiâs words were like a sharp knife that stabbed straight into Dong Fengâs heart.
He was not a good-for-nothing, he was definitely not a good-for-nothing!
When Le Tian returned home, her parents were waiting for her.
The atmosphere resonated with its perceiverâit was not cheerful at all.
âDad, Mom, Iâm back.â Le Tian entered the door and changed out of her shoes at the door.
Le Tianâs mother went out to the entryway. When she saw that her daughter had returned on her own, she instinctively let out a sigh of relief. âWhy didnât you bring your suitcase back?â
She could not manage to bring her suitcase with her in time because she quarreled with Ding Junqi. How was she supposed to tell her mother that?
âTomorrow, Ding Junqi will be heading out for an outdoor shoot, so I didnât bother bringing my suitcase back,â Le Tian mumbled without much confidence.
âLe Tian, tell me the truth. Whatâs going on between you and Ding Junqi?â Le Tianâs father asked the second Le Tian passed through the entryway.
Le Tian paused for a moment and muttered, âWhy does it matter? Yuejia likes me, soââ
âDing Junqi told me that he likes you. I wonât believe you if you claim that you donât know that.â Le Tianâs father sounded more and more grave as he spoke.
She had just gotten chewed up by Ding Junqi, then, angered by that idiotic Dong Feng. Now, she was getting questioned by her own father seconds after returning home. Le Tianâs anger was on the brim of exploding.
âItâs his business that he likes me. Do you think I can stop him from liking someone?â Le Tian cried in an aggrieved toneâthe kind of grievance that you could get when you were welcomed by accusatory bullets the second you got home.
âSince you know that he likes you, you shouldnât stay in his house and give him false hope! Why canât you understand such a simple logic?â Le Tianâs father reprimanded her angrily.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
âLe Tianâs dad.â Le Tianâs mother held onto her husband and looked at her daughter worriedly.
âWhat do I understand? My mom was the one who pushed me to take the job, so how is it my fault now? Why does everyone think that Iâm wrong?â Ding Junqi was like this; her own father was also like this. Even Ding Yuejia questioned her why she could not admit that she was his mother.
She herself had no answers to that. In fact, she had no clue as to how her son existed. She had never experienced the process of pregnancy nor the pain of childbirth. Who could relate to how she felt to suddenly have a son out of nowhere? It did not fill her with the joy of being a mother, but dread.
Le Tianâs fatherâs anger flared after hearing Le Tianâs retort. âLook at it! Do you know what the news says about you? They accuse you of exploiting your job as a tutor to seduce him and that you got an abortion in the middle of the night. How much worse can things be?â
âI didnât do any of that! You donât even care about why I went to the hospital yesterday! You only know to yell at me!â Le Tian shouted loudly as tears streaked down the sides of her face.
âLe Tian and her dad! Whatâs going on with you two?â Le Tianâs mother stood between the both of them. Her heart ached for her daughter, but she did not know what she could say to her husband.
âIf I tell you that I gave birth to Ding Yuejia myself, are you going to beat me to death? Youââ
Slap!
Le Tianâs words were caught in her throat because of this slap. Le Tianâs mother cried out in shock as she hugged her daughter, trying to see her face.
âLe Tian, you disappoint me too much,â Le Tianâs father growled.
Le Tianâs face was numb from the slap. She could not solicit any form of reaction to that.
