Chapter 118: Returning to the Town of Jiameng (1)

Ye Tianxin was so lost in thought that she didn’t even notice when hot water overflowed from the cup, burning her feet. “Ouch...”

“Quick! Rinse your feet with water!”

Grandmother handed a bottle of water to Ye Tianxin.

Ye Tianxin poured the icy cold water on her feet, easing the pain.

“Tianxin, child, what were you thinking about?”

“Grandmother, I’m fine!”

Fortunately, the water in the hot water bottle wasn’t hot. It merely turned her pale feet slightly pink. The burn wasn’t serious.

“Tianxin, Grandmother, I went ahead and asked what happened. I heard it was a car accident. We’ll be able to pass soon!”

Jing Zhichen got into the car and noticed that the back of Ye Tianxin’s feet had turned red. He asked in concern, “How did you get burned? Your skin’s turned red! Let’s go to the hospital to get it looked at!”

Ye Tianxin smiled wryly. They were stuck on the highway. How were they going to get to a hospital?

“It’s all right! I’ll be fine in a while. CEO Jing, I’ve troubled you!”

Jing Zhichen didn’t know why, but his hands itched whenever he saw Ye Tianxin.

He resisted the urge and turned to ask Grandmother, “Grandmother, how did you manage to educate little Tianxin into such a thoughtful child? Quick, teach me your secrets so I can educate my daughter like that in the future!”

Grandmother sat there and looked at Ye Tianxin. Her eyes were especially gentle as she did so.

“Tianxin is like her mother. Her mother was a very sensible child too!”

Jing Zhichen had a rough idea of what had happened to Ye Tianxin’s mother. He berated himself silently for not thinking before speaking.

“Grandmother, why don’t you come to the capital as well after Tianxin is done with the college entrance exam? I can find you and Tianxin a condo then...” Jing Zhichen said as the RV suddenly started up again. He couldn’t keep his balance and almost fell over.

“No need. I prefer the town of Jiameng, and I know the neighbors there well. I’m just waiting for Tianxin to go to college!”

Jing Zhichen had searched up the town of Jiameng on the internet. It was a very small ancient town, but it was in a very good location. The town had many resources, but it was inconvenient to get there, which was why it hadn’t yet been developed.

The town of Jiameng wasn’t far from the highway. About forty minutes later, the RV pulled up outside the town’s ancient city gates.

The old streets of the town of Jiameng were very well-preserved. The only inconvenience was that the streets were very narrow. Cars weren’t able to enter. Fortunately, Jing Zhichen had prepared a wheelchair beforehand.

The group wheeled Grandmother into the old town.

Jing Zhichen felt as if time had slowed down the moment they entered the city gates.

The streets of the ancient town had retained their original character.

Upon realizing that he couldn’t see any modern appliances, like air conditioners, or hear any modern sounds, Jing Zhichen wondered if he’d traveled back in time.

Neighbors who were familiar with Grandmother and Ye Tianxin greeted them. Ye Tianxin smiled at them in reply.

“We’re here!”

Ye Tianxin took out a key and opened the doors to the courtyard.

The little courtyard was empty save for some flowers and greenery at the corner of the walls. They were verdant and full of life.

“Tianxin, your courtyard looks great!”

Ye Tianxin got the others to put down their things and said, “I’ll go and clean up your rooms right away. I already told the lady boss of the restaurant at the entrance of this street to bring us dinner later...”
