Chapter 201: The First Scene (1)

Director Jin knew better than anyone that it required sufficient courage to cast a newbie in a leading role. Fortunately, this was what Du Juan wanted.

This was her wish.

As such, even if he would lose everything that he had, he was willing to fulfill her wish.

“Hello, Ying Tao. I am Zhou Hong.”

Yan Jun was wearing an old military uniform. He stood in front of Ye Tianxin, looking very serious. It almost confused Ye Tianxin for a moment. It was as if she was looking at Zhou Hong from the script.

“Zhou Hong, I am Ying Tao.”

Ye Tianxin shook Yan Jun’s hand.

Yan Jun let go of Ye Tianxin’s hand and smiled. “Ying Tao, let’s talk later.”

“Sure,” Ye Tianxin agreed.

Du Juan asked the makeup artist to help Ye Tianxin get changed into Ying Tao’s costume. “Tianxin, let’s take a photo of your character in costume.”

“Okay.”

Ye Tianxin returned to the dressing room. The costume director picked a pink floral dress for Ye Tianxin.

Ye Tianxin put on the dress and a pair of leather shoes.

She sat in front of the mirror, and the makeup artist said, “Tianxin, I am going to give you some bangs.”

“Sure. It’s up to you,” Ye Tianxin said without a fuss. She was aware that makeovers were essential for the character she was portraying to appear convincing.

Ye Tianxin closed her eyes. The makeup artist used a wooden comb to brush Ye Tianxin’s hair and cut her bangs. Then, her nimble hands pleated Ye Tianxin’s long hair into two plaits.

Ye Tianxin had very good skin. It was fair, soft, and supple. She didn’t have any blemishes.

Her lips were like those of young girls. Her skin was radiant, seemingly glowing from within. The only issue was her brows—they were a little messy. However, that could be dealt with easily by just using an eyebrow razor to get rid of excess hair.

“Take a look.”

Ye Tianxin looked at her reflection in the mirror. Her bangs made her look even gentler and sweeter.

“Thank you.”

Guan Chenxi walked into the dressing room. “Tianxin, I’ve already placed our luggage in the hotel room,” she informed Ye Tianxin. “I have also called your grandmother. She said that you don’t have to worry about her and to work hard at acting.”

“Thank you, Elder Sister Chenxi.”

Ye Tianxin stood up and looked at her dress. It was the perfect length and the waistline was just right.

“Mom, do I look nice?”

Du Juan turned around and saw Ye Tianxin running towards her. For a moment, she felt as if she had seen an old friend...

“Tianxin, you look like Ying Tao walking out from the script!”

Director Jin had been worried whether Ye Tianxin could play Ying Tao well. But when he saw ‘Ying Tao’ today, he felt like how Du Juan did—Ying Tao had come to life...

Ying Tao was no longer a character that existed in Du Juan’s script. She was a living being. She had flesh and blood.

“Let’s take a test shot.”

Director Jin suddenly had the urge to film after seeing Tianxin in costume.

Just by appearance alone, Ye Tianxin’s character, Ying Tao, and Yan Jun’s character, Zhou Hong, fit what was written in the script.

“Yan Jun, do you remember the scene on the train?”

Yan Jun nodded. “I remember.”

Director Jin was very happy. “Let’s move to a different set. We will film the part on the train. Tianxin, try to grasp the feelings for that scene first.”

Director Jin wanting to move to a different set location was a chore for the workers present. The scene on the train was linked to another scene, the one at the train station.

If they wanted to film that part, they would have to find extras as well.
