Chapter 762 - Her Fingertips Brushed Against the Back of Xie Xuning’s Hands

As Xie Yi followed behind Xie Xuning and peeked at his side profile from time to time, waves of warmth slowly flowed from within her heart.

Xie Xuning walked so quickly in front that Xie Yi had to jog along to keep up with him.

The hospital was very crowded.

The elevators and corridors were full of people.

Whenever someone came from the opposite direction, Xie Xuning would politely turn sideways and let the other person pass first.

Although it was only a trivial gesture, it made him seem like a gentleman to Xie Yi.

Xie Xuning felt the scorching gaze fixated on his back. For a moment, his eyes flashed with astonishment.

The door to Qie Wenyang’s office was closed.

Xie Xuning stood before the office door and knocked.

Ye Tianxin scampered towards the door. Once she opened the door and saw that it was Xie Xuning, she said, “Dad, we didn’t meet each other…”

Xie Xuning reached out to caress the top of Ye Tianxin’s head and said, “Maybe it wasn’t today’s flight after all.”

“Dad…”

Ye Tianxin looked miserable.

“Brother Yangzi’s not here now. He went to the ward because something came up. Dad, who’s looking for Brother Yangzi?”

Xie Xuning turned sideways and revealed Xie Yi and Mo Shi, who were standing behind him.

“These two ladies.”

Ye Tianxin greeted them right away, “You’re looking for Dr. Qie? Please come in and have a seat first. He’s not here right now.”

Ye Tianxin brought Xie Yi and Mo Shi into the office.

A tinge of disappointment surged from the bottom of Xie Yi’s heart. Then again, how could a man of Xie Xuning’s age be single?

His daughter was already all grown-up!

As she overheard Xie Xuning’s conversation with Ye Tianxin, Xie Yi thought to herself, ‘So this guy can be easygoing at times, after all.’

Two double-seated sofas were placed facing each other in Qie Wenyang’s office, with a wooden coffee table in between them.

Books that Ye Tianxin was reading were scattered on the coffee table.

As Ye Tianxin cleared away the books on the coffee table, she said to Xie Xuning, “Dad, could you get two cups of water for us?”

As a doting father, Xie Xuning naturally went and got water without complaint.

He went to the water dispenser and filled two paper cups with water.

Xie Yi stared at Xie Xuning without a word. She felt that this guy seemed to be capable of enticing one’s soul effortlessly.

With the simplest gesture, he could make her heart race.

“Please have some water.”

Xie Xuning casually passed a cup of water to Xie Yi.

Xie Yi took the paper cup from him. As her fingertips brushed against the back of Xie Xuning’s hands, electric currents flowed throughout her body all of a sudden.

The feeling was strange yet familiar. Odd currents were rippling inside of her. It felt like countless fireworks exploded in her mind all at once.

Xie Yi’s hand suddenly loosened its grip on the paper cup, which fell to the ground.

Nobody expected her to have fainted.

In shock, Mo Shi hurriedly held Xie Yi in her arms and gently laid her on the double-seated sofa.

Xie Yi’s sudden collapse frightened Ye Tianxin.

“What happened to her?”

Mo Shi calmly replied, “It’s probably because she hasn’t recovered from jet lag yet. She might be feeling a bit sleepy.”

“Okay, Dr. Qie may be back soon. Please wait here for a moment.”

Mo Shi nodded and said, “Thank you.”

Ye Tianxin looked at Xie Yi. Naturally, she thought that she was seeking medical treatment from Qie Wenyang. Of course, she never expected Xie Yi to be the legendary Hands of God.
