Chapter 90: I Can’t Go to Jail (1)

Nobody could be bothered about the head nurse’s despair and neither was Ye Tianxin kind enough to sympathize with a woman like her. Her eyes were fixed on every single action that Qin Lili was doing in the surveillance footage. ‘I underestimated her,’ she thought.

She never expected Qin Lili to be evil enough to do such a thing. ‘If it wasn’t for the nurse’s timely discovery, Grandmother would have died. I would have spent the rest of my life in remorse and hate,’ she reflected.

“Don’t worry, Tianxin. Grandmother will be fine,” Li Qingcang assured Ye Tianxin. She turned to look at him and promised, “I definitely wouldn’t let Qin Lili get away with this!”

“We won’t,” Li Qingcang told Ye Tianxin.

‘This is the capital. How dare Qin Lili cause trouble with my girl while in my territory. I will make things difficult for her. She’ll see,’ Li Qingcang thought.

“I want to head inside and spend some time with Grandmother,” Ye Tianxin declared.

“Ms. Ye, this way, please. You’ll have to sanitize first,” the doctor reminded. After Ye Tianxin went with the doctor to disinfect in the sterilization chamber, she wore the hazmat suit and entered the ICU.

The silence in the ward was deafening. Only the sound of the medical device could be heard. Ye Tianxin could see the lines on the ECG screen and reached over to hold her grandmother’s hands.

“Grandmother, please wake up quickly. We’ll return to Jiameng Town once you regain consciousness,” she pleaded.

“Grandmother, I can’t believe that Mom would be with a man like Lu Jijun. I can’t believe that she had such poor taste in men. Grandmother, did you know that I came in first during the preliminary test and made it into the next round? I can study in film school as long as I wanted. Grandmother, I want to stay with you. I don’t mind staying in Jiameng Town for the rest of my life as long as you’re with me,” Ye Tianxin whispered and placed her grandmother’s palms against her cheeks. She desperately wished for her grandmother to regain consciousness quickly.

She felt as though her heart would also stop if anything unfortunate were to happen to her grandmother. She was filled with terror by the sheer thought of being left alone in this world.

What Qin Lili had done was pure evil. If something worse happened to Ye Tianxin’s grandmother, she could be charged with murder. She was caught red-handed in the surveillance camera.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

In the meantime, the security in the hospital had tracked down Qin Lili, who was seated on a bench in the garden, waiting for Lu Jijun.

“Madam Qin, please come with us,” the guards ordered.

Qin Lili stood up, shot them a cold stare, and replied, “Don’t you know who I am?”

“Madam Qin...”

“Dear?” Lu Jijun called out from afar. When he saw how his wife was surrounded by the guards, he was instantly under the impression that they had beaten her up. Not bothering to check first, Li Jijun roared, “Back off!”

He then shielded Qin Lili, and Qin Lili was so touched that she uttered, “Thank god you’re finally here, Dear. They won’t leave me alone!”

“Back off or I’ll sue you,” Lu Jijun threatened. However, the guards merely sneered and rebutted, “Sir, your wife is suspected to be involved in an attempted murder. Our hospital had alerted the police, and she cannot leave our premises until the authorities arrive.”

Qin Lili flustered. ‘No. That’s impossible! I’ve checked the ward, and there were no surveillance cameras. I’m not that stupid to do such a thing if I know that I’ll be caught on camera!’ she thought.

“I have no idea what you’re talking about!” she denied.

Qin Lili was certain that they had no evidence to prove her guilty, for there were no surveillance cameras. Besides, she was also wearing medical gloves and was covered from head to toe when she committed the act. Thus, it was impossible for her to leave any fingerprints.
