The head guard was not convinced of Qin Lili’s denial.

“Madam Qin, whatever you have to say, tell it to the cops!”

The head guard brought Lu Jijun and Qin Lili to the intensive care unit. Lu Jijun saw Li Qingcang. Li Qingcang was wearing a white shirt. Sunlight streamed into the room and struck Li Qingcang, making him look even more handsome and elegant.

“Young Master Li, they are here.”

Li Qingcang nodded.

Qin Lili’s eyes were filled with hatred. “Why is this man everywhere?”

Ye Tianxin was really that woman’s daughter. She had inherited her mother’s skills!

Lu Jijun was filled with bitterness. He turned his head around once more to look at Qin Lili. He asked softly, “What exactly have you done this time?”

Qin Lili looked at Lu Jijun pitifully and said, “I just came to look for Ye Tianxin. I told her that I would treat her as if she were my own daughter...”

Li Qingcang harrumphed when he heard that.

His sarcastic tone made Qin Lili’s eyes fill up with tears.

“Hubby, I was shocked when I found out that you have an illegitimate daughter who’s already so old. But Qinxin persuaded me. She told me that you have missed Ye Tianxin and her grandmother all these years. I thought that it would make you happy if I acknowledge her. Who knew, she didn’t appreciate it. We argued, and she hit me... Look, look at my face. It’s swollen!”

Lu Jijun was frustrated. Ye Tianxin was already doubtful of him. Why did Qin Lili have to make things worse for him?

Did she think he didn’t have enough to worry about?

“Why didn’t you tell me you were coming to the capital?” Lu Jijun asked softly.

Qin Lili tugged Lu Jijun’s sleeve coyly.

“Hubby, I wanted to surprise you. Could I not? Who knew...that things would turn out like this? I’m sorry that things didn’t turn out as planned.”

Lu Jijun was completely speechless. He sat in the corner silently. His eyes were downcast, worried.

After a while, the police and the hospital management entered the room.

Head nurse Jiao lunged at Qin Lili, like a lioness pouncing on his prey, the moment she saw her.

“Qin Lili, why did you get me into trouble? I got fired because of you!”

Qin Lili was stunned but pretended to be calm. She responded, “Elder Sister Jiao, what are you saying? I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

Head nurse Jiao laughed coldly as she said, “You don’t understand what I’m saying? Qin Lili, did you think that nobody knows what you did? Let me tell you, there are security cameras in the intensive care unit. Everyone knows what you did in there. Just wait. You’re going to jail!”
