Chapter 132
True Luna by Tessa Lilly
True Luna by Tessa Lilly (Finding My True Mate)
The White Wolf Series Book 3 â CHAPTER 132 â Dinner?
(Emma POV)
Logan and I entered our home.
I could hear voices coming from the kitchen.
I looked at Logan and took a deep breath.
Ever since we left my office, heâs been tense. He kept clenching his jaw and his fists.
I took his hand in mine and pulled him closer.
âTalk to me.â I said as I wrapped my arms around his waist.
He looked down at me and caressed my cheek.
âI donât want you to go anywhere with him.â he mumbled quietly as he wrapped his arms around me.
My heart clenched painfully. I didnât want to go with him either. I really didnât. But if that was something that could stop a warâ¦
âI know.â I said, lifting my hand and cupping his cheek. âI donât want to go either.â
âThen donât, Emma.â Logan said, tightening his arms around me. âI donât want to go to war.â I said. âI donât want to endanger our pack members.â
âEvery single one of them would go to war for you.â Logan said.
I took a deep breath and leaned my head on his c*hest.
âThat doesnât mean they should.â I said quietly. âNot if it can be avoided.â
Logan placed a hand on my head and pressed me closer to him. âI am not sure if we will be able to avoid it, my love.â he mumbled. âNo amount of dinners will convince him to leave you alone.â
I shivered. Something was telling me that Logan was right.
But I couldnât give up. Not yet.
I looked up at him and gave him a small smile.
âLetâs go see if Anna found something.â I said. âMaybe we wonât need dinners and wars after all.â
Logan smiled back and bent down to k*iss me.
I k*issed him back and tightened my arms around him.
âThat is just gross.â I heard Daisyâs voice behind me.
Logan stopped k*issing me, and I chuckled. I turned around to look at her. She was smirking.
âWhat do you say to Amy then?â I asked, stepping away from Logan. Daisy sighed and rolled her eyes. âDonât remind me.â
I took Loganâs hand in mine, and we followed Daisy back to the kitchen.
Anna was sitting at our kitchen island, looking through one of the books we found in Samuelâs cave.
My brother was with her. He was leaning on the kitchen counter with a cup of coffee in his hand.
âDid you find anything?â I asked, making Anna turn around and look at me.
âNot really.â Anna said and the disappointment washed over me. âThe making of the curse is described here, but I donât see a way of breaking it.â
I approached Anna and looked down at the book. I wished that I could read it myself.
âCould we make a spell to see if Logan is my Goddess-given mate?â I asked, looking up at Anna.
âIâm not sure.â Anna mumbled, fl*pping through the book. âI donât know how I would do it.â
âFind out.â I said. âI will help as much as I can.â
Anna nodded and gave me a small smile. I looked back down at the book and took a deep breath. We had to find something. We had to. There had to be a way for us to confirm that Logan really was my Goddess-given mate.
âWhat?!â Andrew exclaimed suddenly.
I looked up at him, furrowing my eyebrows.
âYou are not going to that dinner with him!â Andrew said, placing the cup down on the counter.
I looked at my mate and sighed. He told him everything through the mind-link.
âWhat dinner?â Daisy asked, confused.
She looked from Andrew to me.
âAlpha Nathan demanded a dinner with me.â I said as I sat down on one of the bar stools. âHe said that he wanted to talk to me without Logan or Andrew present.â
âThat is not happening.â Andrew said angrily.
I looked at him and sighed.
âDonât give me that look, Emma.â Andrew said. âI donât trust that
man. I am not leaving you alone with him.â
An uneasy feeling washed over me. I didnât like the way Andrew talked about my mate.
I gulped and tightened my jaw.
He wasnât my mate. Logan was.
âLet her talk, Andrew.â Daisy said, making Andrew look at her. âYou didnât give her a chance to tell you anything.â
âLogan already told me that she told Alpha Nathan that she would think about it.â Andrew said, looking back at me. âThere is nothing to think about, Emma.â
âHe said that he would do it the hard way if I didnât say yes to the dinner.â I sighed. âWe all know what that means.â
âWe will go to war if we have to.â Andrew said, tightening his jaw.
âIf it was just about me, I would go to war.â I said. âBut itâs not just about me. I canât endanger our pack members.â
âOur warriors will fight for you, Emma.â Andrew said.
âI know.â I sighed. âBut we will put others at risk as well. We donât know how many rogues they have working for them. They could get inside our borders. They could kill women and children. I donât want that to happen.â
I sighed and looked down at my hands.
âBesides, there is no point of war if we canât kill the main reason for it.â Logan added quietly.
I turned around to look at him.
He was leaning on the door frame. His muscles were clenched tight. His eyes held so much pain that my heart felt like it was pierced by knives.
He was right. We couldnât kill Alpha Nathan. Not while he was bound to me.
âThe only way to get him to back off is to break the curse.â I said, keeping my eyes on my mate. âWe need to stall him until we find a way to do it.â
âGoing to dinner with him is one of the ways to do that?â Andrew sighed.
I looked back at him and took a deep breath. I wasnât sure. It seemed like a good idea, but I wasnât sure.
âF*uck.â Andrew mumbled, running his f*ingers through his hair. âI donât like it.â
I didnât like it either. I hated it.
âWhat does Eliza say about him?â Daisy asked me.
âI still havenât talked to her.â I mumbled, looking down at my hands.
I heard footsteps approaching me, and my mate wrapped his arms around me from behind.
âWe will figure it out.â Logan said softly. âYou are not alone in this.â âI know.â I said, looking up at him.
He k*issed my temple and gave me a small smile. It didnât reach his eyes, though.
âEliza?â I called my wolf
âWe need to talk, Emma.â she said.
âI know.â I said, taking a deep breath. âAfter everyone leaves, okay?â âYes.â Eliza said.
Nervousness washed over me. What would Eliza say? Did she want Noel and Nathan?
Goddess, please no.
I didnât know what I would do if my wolf wanted them. I didnât. I didnât want Alpha Nathan.
I wanted Logan. Only him.
