The White Wolf Series Book 4 â CHAPTER TWENTY â Meeting Anna
(Hunterâs POV)
I was staring at her and I couldnât look away.
My mind kept replaying that hot make-out scene that happened in this room last night. She was so f*ucking perfect and I wanted to do it again. I wanted more. I wanted to make her mine.
My eyes fell on her beautiful n*eck. I remembered how I s*ucked and k*issed it. I remembered the taste of her skin. I couldnât wait to see my mark on her n*eck. I couldnât wait for the rest of the world to see that she was mine. âStop staring at me like that,â she mumbled, making me look up at her beautiful face.
âLike what?â I asked, faking innocence.
She raised an eyebrow at me, making me smirk.
âI canât help it,â I said. âI need to repeat that make-out session from last night.â
She blushed and glanced at the wall behind me.
âWe could use the wall again,â I said, chuckling. âOr maybe even a bed this time.â
Her eyes widened and I saw her gulp. I wanted to tease her some more, but I heard footsteps approaching the office.
I smiled at her and she took a deep breath.
Goddess, she was f*ucking perfect.
The office door opened and I saw her brother walk inside. He glared at me before he approached Sophia.
âAre you okay, Fia?â he asked her softly as he k*issed the top of her head.
She looked up at him and smiled. âI am okay.â
Her brother smiled at her before he looked at me. His smile disappeared and he gave me a stern look.
âHello, Alexander,â I said, giving him a small smile.
âAlpha Hunter,â he mumbled quietly.
He glanced down at his sister, sighed, and rolled his eyes. She probably mind-linked him.
âHow are the meetings going?â I asked, making Alexander look back at me. âEverything is going great,â he said. âDad said to take as much time as we need.â
I nodded and smiled at him.
He and I took a little break from participating in the gathering so we could talk to a witch called Anna. Sophia said that I needed to hear everything before I made my decision. I already knew what I wanted. Nothing that Anna could say would make me want my mate less. I would accept her no matter what. I would help her deal with everything.
Alexander looked back at Sophia. She smiled at him and he squeezed her shoulders lightly. I knew how important he was to Sophia and I wanted to have a good relationship with him. I was glad to see that he was protective of her. It only meant that she had people around her who cared and wanted her safe.
âAre you sure about this, Fia?â Alexander asked her. âYou donât have to do this.â
âI told her the same thing,â I answered instead of her, making them both look at me. âI told her that I want her no matter what.â
Alexander tightened his jaw.
âYou deserve to know everything, Hunter,â Sophia said softly. âI donât want you to regret anything.â
I looked at her and my heart clenched painfully. Did she think that I would ever regret this?
âI would never regret you, Sophia,â I said. âNothing will make me want you less. I already told you that.â
She gulped and looked up at Alexander. He had a stern look on his face and he was staring at me.
âI am in love with your sister, Alexander,â I said. âI want her. I donât care about our parents or her magic. I will help her with it all. I am not giving up on her.â
Alexander took a deep breath and narrowed his eyes a little.
âYour dad is a whole other issue I wonât be discussing right now,â he said. âLetâs just focus on dealing with this first.â
I clenched my fists tightly. Would they ever trust that my dad had changed? The office door opened and Luna Emma walked inside followed by an older lady who had a small smile on her face.
Luna Emma approached Alexander and Sophia. She smiled and hugged them both.
âHello, Alpha Hunter,â the older woman said politely. âMy name is Anna. It is nice to finally meet you.â
Her smile relaxed me. She was the first one who wasnât careful around me or who didnât look at me like I was responsible for what happened 18 years ago.
âHi, Anna,â I said, smiling back at her. âIt is nice to meet you too.â
She smiled at me and looked at my mate.
âHi, Soph,â she said softly. âHow are you today?â
She sat down beside me and patted my knee gently.
âKind of nervous,â Sophia mumbled, making my heart clench.
I looked at her and gave her a soft smile. I wanted to take her into my arms, but I knew that her brother wouldnât like that very much.
âThere is no need to be nervous, Sophia,â I said softly. âNothing will make me want you less.â
I said that to her a million times and I would repeat it a million more. I would repeat it until she believed me. If she was the darkest creature on this planet, she would be my darkest creature and I wouldnât let her go. âWhat do you know about her magic?â Anna asked, making me look back at her.
âI know that she is powerful,â I said. âI know that she has both light and dark magic.â
Anna nodded. âAnything else?â
âI know that itâs unpredictable,â I said.
Anna glanced at Sophia and nodded again
âIt is,â she said quietly. âIt is unpredictable and it is powerful. Weâve been trying to contain it, but it always finds a way to come out.â
I took a deep breath and released it slowly.
âCan she get rid of it?â I asked.
âIâve never tried,â Sophia said, making me look back at her. âEvery time I let just a small part of it out, it kills a part of my light magic.â
My eyes widened.
âWhat are you saying?â I mumbled.
âShe is saying that the darkness would take over her completely if she let it out,â Alexander said, making my heart stop beating.
