Chapter 96
True Luna by Tessa Lilly
True Luna by Tessa Lilly (Chasing The White Wolf)
The White Wolf Series Book 2 â CHAPTER NINETY-SIX â The party
(Emma POV)
âEmma!â Amy screamed as soon as Logan and I arrived at the party.
Logan sighed and k*issed the top of my head.
âI already miss you, baby.â Logan said, making me furrow my eyebrows and look up at him.
Why would he miss me? I was right here.
Amy grabbed me and pulled me into a tight hug.
âOh, I missed you so much!â Amy screamed. âCome on, we need to get this party started!â
She started pulling me away from Logan. I turned around, and he shook his head.
âI knew that she would drag you away from me.â Logan said, chuckling.
I smiled at him and followed Amy toward the rest of the guests.
The party was held in the packhouse garden, and almost the entire pack was there. I saw a lot of my classmates and people I used to train with.
Everyb*dy was smiling at me, wanting to say hi and shake my hand. It was very weird, but very nice at the same time. I stopped to speak to a few of my classmates before Amy dragged me away again.
She pulled me toward Jake, who had a huge smile on his face.
âEmma!â Jake exclaimed as he pulled me into a tight hug. âYou look amazing, beautiful. I missed you.â âI missed you too, Jake.â I said as I hugged him back.
I heard a growl behind me, and I let go of Jake.
âSo he is jealous even after he marked you?â Jake sighed, glancing at the mark on my n*eck.
I sighed and smiled. Logan had nothing to be jealous about.
âDonât forget that gorgeous engagement ring.â Amy said as she lifted my hand to get a better look at the ring.
âYou are marrying him?â Jake asked quietly.
âYes.â I said as a small smile spread across my face.
Jake frowned and tightened his jaw.
âTake this.â Amy said as she handed me a drink.
I took a small sip of some clear liquid.
âWhatâs this?â I asked, frowning.
âGin tonic.â Amy grinned before rolling her eyes and looking behind me. âIâm not going to get her drunk!â she shouted, making me raise my eyebrows at her.
She sighed and looked back at me.
âYour mate and brother are worried that Iâm going to get you drunk.â Amy said, shaking her head. âDo they know that werewolves canât get drunk that easily?â
I looked behind me and saw Logan and Andrew frowning. I smiled at them and looked back at my friends.
âSo, whatâs new with you, guys?â I asked as I took another sip of my drink. âI feel like I havenât seen you in ages.â
âThatâs because you havenât.â Amy said. âThat man of yours is holding a monopole over you.â
I chuckled and shook my head. âItâs not his fault.â
âYeah, right.â Amy rolled her eyes playfully, making me chuckle.
âSo, anything new?â I repeated my earlier question.
âNot really.â Amy said, looking at Jake. âWeâve been working and hanging out like usual.â
âI miss hanging out with you at the diner.â I said, smiling.
âOh, we are definitely doing that tomorrow.â Amy said, grinning.
âIf your mate lets you.â Jake added with a hint of annoyance in his voice. âHe will.â I said, giving him a small smile.
I didnât know what else to do. I understood that Jake was jealous, but I didnât know how to deal with it. The best I could do is be understanding and not give him a reason to attack Logan all the time.
âAmy, Jake.â I heard aunt Gloriaâs voice behind me. âDo you mind if I take my daughter-in-law away for a second?â
I turned around and saw Loganâs mom smiling at me. I smiled back and hugged her tightly.
âOf course, Luna.â Jake said politely. âJust bring her back once you are done talking to her. We missed her.â
Aunt Gloria smiled at Jake and took my hand in hers. I handed my drink to Amy and followed behind aunt Gloria.
She started taking me a little further away from the crowd, but we had to keep stopping so I could say hi to the members of our pack.
We finally made it to a bench and sat down.
âHow are you, honey?â aunt Gloria asked me softly.
âMuch better.â I said, smiling.
âI canât even begin to explain to you how happy I am that you and Logan are together.â she said, caressing my cheek. âHe was never happier than he is with you.â
I smiled and looked at my mate.
My c*ore throbbed painfully. He was gorgeous. He was talking to my brother and smiling. The dress pants he was wearing made his legs and b*utt look amazing. He rolled up the sleeves of his shirt, and I could see each and every muscle on his lower arm. He was perfect, and I wanted him so much.
Stop looking at me like that, or Iâm going to take you upstairs, bend you over, and f*uck you right now. Logan mind-linked me as he looked at me across the backyard.
That sounds like something I would really want. I smirked as I mind- linked him back.
He growled through the mind-link, and I saw him clench his fists tightly.
I looked back at aunt Gloria and saw her smiling brightly.
âI am happy that I am able to make him happy.â I said.
âI am happy that he pulled his head out of his a*ss and realized what an amazing person you are.â aunt Gloria growled, making me chuckle.
âIâm glad he did that too.â I said, smiling at her.
âYou are going to be an amazing Luna, you know that?â aunt Gloria said softly as she pulled me into a hug. âYour parents would be so proud of you.â
My heart clenched painfully, and I looked at Andrew. I wished that was true. I wished that I had made them proud.
âI am so proud of you too, Emma.â aunt Gloria said as she stopped hugging me. âAnd I canât wait until we start with our lessons. You will be amazing, Iâm sure of it.â
âI have an amazing teacher.â I said, smiling. âThatâs the most important thing.â
Aunt Gloria smiled at me and stood up. âCome on, letâs get you back to your friends. I want you to have fun tonight because we have a lot to do tomorrow. The Luna ceremony wonât plan itself.â
She winked at me, and I laughed.
I stood up and followed behind her. She gave me one last hug before walking away to the packhouse.
I started walking back to my friends, and on my way there, I ran into Alpha Drake.
âEmma!â he exclaimed as he pulled me into a hug. âAlpha Drake.â I said, smiling. âItâs so nice to see you.â
âPlease, Emma, itâs just Drake.â he said, as he let me go. âHow are you?â âMuch better.â I said. âThank you for saving me.â
âNo need to thank me for that.â Drake said as he took my hand in his. âIt was an honor, Emma.â
We heard a growl, and he let go of my hand immediately. Logan really saw everything, didnât he?
âWell, I better go talk to your mate before he strangles me.â he said, making me chuckle.
âAre you staying for a while?â I asked him.
âProbably for a few days.â he said, smiling.
âGreat.â I smiled.
Alpha Drake winked at me and walked toward Logan, Andrew, and the rest of their friends.
I walked back to Amy and Jake.
âDrink.â Amy said as she handed me my drink back. âItâs time to relax, Emma.
It really was, but I had something else on my mind. I wouldnât mind relaxing under Loganâs amazing b*dy.
I pushed the thought away for now, smiled at my friend, and took another sip of my drink.
I had so much fun. Amy, Jake, and I talked, laughed, and joked around all night. Some of our other friends from school and training joined us, and I had so much fun. I felt like a normal 18-year-old girl for the first time in a few months.
But I couldnât say that I wasnât thrilled when I felt my mate wrap his arms around my waist.
âIâm done sharing you.â he whispered, placing a small k*iss on my n*eck. âI want to take you upstairs and take that dress off. Itâs been driving me crazy all night long.â
I looked up at him and smiled.
âI canât wait.â I said softly, making him growl l*ustfully.
He captured my l*ips with his, and I melted into his arms.
He was perfect, and I was the luckiest girl alive.
