Chapter 113
Alpha Enzo
Alaria:
âDo you really think that we are going to be giving you any loyalty now that you are back within the pack?â Alexa, one of Katherineâs closest associates and friends. She was known to be her personal maid, but she often saw herself as her friend.
âDo you aim to betray the Alpha? Or are you a traitor as it is considering that you are defending the woman who not only broke the pack but alsoâ¦â
âYou are lying. It was you who burned the house down. It was the reason why you chose to take your son out early.â She said, and I nodded.
âDo you believe that the Alpha would be allowing me within the pack if that were the case? Why would I be harming a child that I spent days and nights with when his own mother was neglecting him?â I asked, raising an eyebrow at the woman. I went to walk past her, but she wrapped her hand around my arm, stopping me.
âI donât know what kind of game you are playing. But if you want me to believe that ANY word that you are saying is trueâ¦â
âI want nothing from you.â I said, stopping the woman. She went to tighten her hand around my arm, but I turned her around and pinned her against the wall, raising her hand over her head. She let out a low whimper, and I returned the fight with a low warning growl. âCross your limits with me again, and I am going to be sure that you answer to the Alpha.â
8 to be st âWhat is going on here?â Enzo asked, his tone coming out harder than he would have intended to direct at me.
âYou can ask your little omega here.â I said, turning the woman around the face me. I looked at Enzo whose eyes landed on my bruising arm. He frowned at Alexa who looked down at her feet. âShe knows to mind her limits now that they have been set for her. But it was a little fuss setting them to begin with.
You know, some of these concubines can still be loyal toâ¦â
âEnough, Alaria.â He said, stopping me. He nodded in assurance, and gave me a quick wink before turning his attention to the omega. âPlease go and get your arm checked. The bruise is already forming and you donât need a sprained arm when we have a challenge ahead of us.â
âEnzoâ¦â
âPlease, Alaria.â He said, stopping me. âIâm already going to the infirmary in a bit. You should at least get yourself checked before that happens.â
âYes, Alpha.â I said, and he nodded in thanks before turning to Alexa.
âAs for you, you cross limits with my pack members, and especially the mother of my child again, and I am going to be sure to hang your head on a spike for the traitors of the pack to see, do you fucking understand meâ¦?â
âWhat do you mean that thereâs no one here?â I asked, frowning as I entered the now, literally, abandoned infirmary.
Leonardo was here with me, and I knew to be thankful for that. At least I knew that I wasnât crazy seeing that the packâs infirmary members werenât around.
âThey were here earlier, Alaria.â Yasmin, one of the girls said. She was a beta blood, Matiasâs eldest child. âWe couldnât find them after Alpha Enzo spoke to us earlier. They literally seemed to run and we havenât been able to trace them since. Dad had the men cornering the pack grounds to find them, but judging by the fact that neither one of them was foundâ¦â
âThey took the underground doors.â I said, and she nodded.
âThatâs a problem.â Leonardo said, and I pinched the bridge of my nose. âIf they are on Katherineâs side, they can inform her and those against her of it. The Estate is new, thankfully, Katherine doesnât know of them yet. We would have been dead otherwise, but I doubt that their silence would last for long. Especially if they are to want to prove their loyalty to the rogue.â
âThen we are going to have to seal the gates. It is the one way to keep us from ending up with more trouble than we can handle.â I suggested. He shook his head, and I frowned in confusion.
âWe can use them to our advantage. The one thing that I am worried about is how things are going to be after we have used them.â He said, confusing both Yasmin and I.
âCare to elaborate? I doubt that we are supposed to understand riddles now, Leo.â I said, and he chuckled.
âYou arenât. But this is going to have to run by the Alpha first. You will hear with the rest of the pack members,â he teased, and I shook my head at him. âPrepare yourselves, though. We are going to need all the power that we can get. It seems to me that our time might be limited, and now that the traitors within the pack are coming out like the roaches that they are, we are going to need to be ready for everything that is to happen.â
âI am guessing that things are going to be messy?â I asked, watching as the beta turned to leave.
Yasmin looked at my arm, and she shook her head at the sight of the bruise. âAnd donât have to give me that look, Yasmin.â
you âThings are already messy, Alaria. I think that you of all people should already know that.â Leonardo said, as Yasmin walked toward the fridge. She opened the freezer and pulled out an ice bag. âIâll leave you two to tend to things here. Iâll go and speak to Enzo. And I you start getting ready. We are might end up having a long night to deal with.â
We both watched as he walked out before Yasmin raised an eyebrow at me as she icepack on my arm.
suggest that put the âSo, you and Enzo?â She asked, and I laughed, shaking my head at the girl.
âDrop the topic, Yasmin. There is a lot more to discuss and the last thing that you need to hear is about my weird love life.â I said, and she shrugged.
âYou would be surprised.â She said, looking at the door for a moment. âNeither one of us has ever seen him the way that we did today.â
She walked toward a cabinet and I watched as she pulled out an ointment and a wrapper. âBut Iâll drop the topic, for now. Just know that we will see your love sprouting soon enough.â
âI have a lot more to worry aboutâ¦â
âDonât worry, we all see it.â She said, not bothering to listen. âAnyhow, now to business. What do you think Leonardo was talking about?â
âIf he has what I think he does in mind. Then I am not sure whether or not it is going to be a good idea for us to stay inside the house when our enemies decide to use the secret doors.â I said, looking out the window for a moment. âWeâll just have to wait and see, I guessâ¦â
