Chapter 90
Alpha Enzo
Alaria:
âMama, are you okay?â Ashton asked, entering my room. I smiled at my little one before getting down on my knees in front of him. It wasnât like me not to see him on the dining table, but I didnât have it in me to face his father.
âMama is fine, baby. I am just a little tired,â I said, and he pouted before taking a seat in front of me.
âDo you want to drink something, mama?â He asked, taking both my hands in his. He kissed my forehead, letting his lips linger there for a moment before pulling away to look me in the eye. âNo fever,â
I laughed and cupped his cheeks before kissing his forehead. I wanted nothing more than to take him to a better home, a better place. But I had nowhere to take him. I was stuck between fire and stone, and the only way to get things done was for me to be dealing with Enzo right now.
âDonât worry, baby. Mama is just tired of the long day that she had yesterday. You know, when things get complicated, mama grows tired.â I said, and he nodded. âDo you want us to go out today? Itâs been a while since you went out to play.â
âYes!â He said, making me smile.
âAlright, how about you go and get ready for a shower, then you and mama can get ready. We will go out afterwards.â I said, and he nodded, making my eyes soften. The fact that I knew that Enzo was standing behind the door made me fight back shaking my head at him.
Ashton rushed to the bathroom, and I got up, opening the door for him.
âWhat do you want, Enzo?â I asked, and he extended a plate for me.
âYou need to eat, and though I know that you donât want to be on the same table with meâ¦â
âI donât want to eat anything, thank you.â I said, stopping him.
âAre you going to keep burning yourselfâ¦?â
âI am done being the second option that you would come running to when you find yourself being stuck, Enzo.â I said, stopping him. âI donât care what you are going to say about this, but this is the truth behind things. You are going to go and tell me that it is not, I am going to tell you that it is.â
âYou arenât a second option, Alaria.â He said, and I scoffed.
âI doubt that I am a first,â I said, raising an eyebrow. âWho are you trying to fool, Enzo? Because it is as sure as hell not me.â
âI am not trying to fool anyone, but I am trying to reach a middle line which you areâ¦â
âYou offering me to stay in your penthouse is not a middle line, and apology, one which is four years late, by the way, is not an apology. You throwing so much in things, accusing me of things, breaking my soul, putting me in situations, and apologizing with words is NEVER going to be an apology.â I said, stopping him. âNow, if there isnât anything that you are going to want to tell me, I have Ashton waiting for me in the bathroom, and the last thing that I am going to want is to leave Ï Ð° M M him alone in thereâ¦â
M E *UXN34 34% 11:18 âMama, can we go and see Alonso?â Ashton asked as the two of us sat in front of an oak tree to eat. I smiled and wrapped my arms around my legs.
âThe two of us are going to need to be a little patient when we want to see Alonso for now. He is still very ill, and I know that we will not help him if we go to see him. You know, he is going to need time to heal, and us visiting right now is not the right time.â I said, and he pouted.
âBut I want to tell him about the new place that we are staying in! He is going to be very happy to hear us.â He said, and I smiled.
âAshton, baby, we canât tell anyone where we are staying right now as it is not going to be very safe.
You know, the pack members are not all around us, and we are going to have to be sure that they are also safe.â I said, and he nodded. I doubted that he understood me, but at this point, I knew that being honest about what I wanted and didnât want him to do was going to be the ONLY option to ensure that he didnât deviate.
âYou are going to focus on school right now. We are having a little break today, but we are going to go back to studying. I see that you havenât been doing so lately, not as much,â I said, raising an eyebrow at him, gently scolding him.
âI was with daddy,â he said, and I nodded.
âYour dad is not going to be very happy if youâre not studying though, you know that, right?â I asked, and he nodded. A familiar scent hit my nostrils, making me frown as I got up. Ashton frowned in confusion when he saw me, and I extended a hand, stopping him from following as I looked around, knowing that someone was around us, someone other than the bastard âI am amazed by your skills as a mother. I havenât seen them in another female wolf before.â He said, walking toward us. Ashtonâs eyes met mine and I had to fight back letting out a low growl as I knew that my son was going to be put in danger if the man was going to end up playing dirty. âIt seems that my initial bargain didnât work. I didnât see you speaking to your ex, nor does he seem to.
âI would have suggested that you speak to someone who is your own size, though.â Enzoâs voice stopped the man from saying another word as he walked toward him. He brushed his hand against Ashtonâs head, gently ruffling his hair, and nodded at me when our eyes met before he stood in front of the man. âHowever, I am curious, what is it that youâre doing thatâs making you course around my son and his mother? Because as far as I know, you already have your ownâ¦â
