(35): Gill Resort
Mr Rude & Me (Undergoing Editing)
"Okay so I'm riding in Kyle's car with Kyle and Chels, right?" Nick asks with his suitcase in front of him.
We all decided to meet at Cottage Hill on the day of the trip, which is today. We're dressed in warm clothing- like gloves, coats and scarves warm- because Nick warned us that it was cold by the resort and we had to be warm when we got there. It's already cold this side too, but not gloves cold though. Each brought a suitcase, some bigger than others, and now we're in the parking lot, a few minutes away from starting the journey.
We are so excited!
We all come from our homes after celebrating Christmas just yesterday. Our break started on the 22nd which means we were only home for four days but it was nice. I was so happy to finally get to see my mom. We celebrated Christmas with her side of the family.
"Yeah, you are" I grin.
"Okay then it's Winnie and I in Nathan's" Kat summarizes attempting to shove her huge suitcase inside "Babe, a little help"
Nathan sighs before moving to help his girlfriend "You do know we're only there for five days, right?"
"I need everything in here" She defends.
Kyle nudges me "See? I'm not the only one who's complaining"
"Hush" I deadpan.
Nick shoves his in the Audi trunk and Kyle helps me with mine since I also can't quit pick it up. He then puts his own.
"Are we ready!" Winnie grins enthusiastically.
"Oh yeah" Nick agrees "You've been waiting for so long to go on this trip with us, Winz"
"Tell me about it. But you guys were too busy thinking about the girls you wanted to get with to think about me" She pouts.
"Good times" Nathan snorts.
Kat scowls unimpressed.
"Well come on, yous" I announce "Let's get in our rides"
We bid our goodbyes to the other three who won't be riding with us. Kyle and Nathan arrange that they'll drive at the same pace and try to stay close on the journey there. They also discuss where they will make a bathroom and snack break since the place is four hours away.
"I call shotgun" Nick screams as we're about to enter Kyle's car.
"No way, Nicholas" I protest immediately.
"I already did"
"There's no way you're sitting in front with me" Kyle deadpans "Chelsea-Anne will sit in front"
"Why? Just because you two are closer than my butt cheeks now?" Nick complains.
What?
"You know how you are" Kyle informs.
I laugh at Nick as I stick my tongue out at him "Sucks to be your ass"
He groans, folding his arms but submissively enters in the back seat. Kyle and I just shrug before also entering.
"None of you speak to me the whole ride" Nick scowls.
"Oh come on" I tease giggling.
Kyle just rolls his eyes "Will it make you feel better if we put on your music then?"
He grins "A little"
I laugh before handing him the aux cable and he happily starts playing some Drake and then Kyle drives away right behind Nathan.
Let's goo!
The rest of exams and the month went by pretty quickly. Nothing much had happened because we were all focused on studying.
Kyle and I have been... cool, too cool. Things were a bit awkward at first, after the whole dam thing, but then we quickly got over it. We've been having more 'moments'. It's weird; good and heart-thumping weird but yep, that's what's been happening. We have these times where we just stare at each other and not say anything. Most of the time he looks at my lips, his eyes dark, before groaning and looking away. I do the same, just without the groaning.
It happens a lot.
Other than that, we've just been vibing so well. The others say they're getting 'concerned' because they haven't seen us fighting in so long. Idiots.
I mean he's still the same Kyle, sometimes he's anti-social and agitated for no reason. I've learned to just leave him alone when he's like that so he has no reason to snap at me. It's worked because he really hasn't. I just have to catch him when he's in a good mood, which has been more frequent than not.
Lucky me.
Did I mention that I'm pretty sure that I actually like him now? I've been playing trying to convince myself that it was just a crush and no feelings. There definitely are feelings. A lot of them. I don't know how he feels though, which is very unsettling.
I don't know what to do.
The others have been well. Nathan and I have weirdly been getting closer. He's the only one who knows how I feel about Kyle. He keeps refusing to tell me how he feels about me. But he hinted that I had nothing to worry about. I don't know what that means.
Nick and Kat are also way closer now. They make time for me too but I'm always occupied with Kyle or something so I don't really blame them. I remember Kat and I had a sleepover a few weeks ago to catch up. I felt bad for not telling her about Kyle but I just wasn't ready for her to know. Plus, she's still friends with Noah, so what if she won't be fully okay with the news that I've really moved on? We both know that he isn't in a good place.
Winnie speaks to Kyle and I now, but only when the others are around. She refuses any sort of one-on-one with us so we actually haven't addressed the elephant in the room.
I just hope it won't ruin the trip.
Mom was cool with me taking it since I had to ask for her permission first. I think she's just glad that I have other friends besides just Kat. She's always worried about me in that department.
There hasn't been much contact from Zorro or his father so that's a good thing. Kyle also seemed happy about it. They've all been out of town since that Monday that Kyle's mom said they would.
The drag racing competitions were also paused for the whole month since most of the contestants are college students and they had to prepare for exams.
Life's been peaceful mostly.
Except the few awkward run-ins with Noah. And staring contests with Betty and Lisa.
"Okay, seriously Nicholas, this is the hundredth time you've made us listen to this stupid song" I protest looking back at him.
"How dare you insult Travis and Drake like that?" He scoffs offended.
I don't know how many times he's made us listen to freaking 'Sicko Mode'. Doesn't he know that song is old now?
"Dude, seriously" Kyle agrees with me.
"You two make me nauseous" Nick grumbles changing the song "Why don't you just date already?"
He always says that.
I snatch the aux away from him "It's my turn now anyways"
We've been listening to his music for two hours and after the bathroom break it was supposed to be my turn but he wouldn't have it.
I start to play my Post Malone playlist and the first song up is 'Sunflower'. I dance softly in my seat.
"I should've swapped with Winnie"
Kyle snorts "As if she'd want to ride alone with Chelsea-Anne and I"
"Okay then Kathrine" He tries again.
"As if she'd want to be away from Nathan" I laugh "You were always going to be stuck with us, Nick"
"I knew I was doomed the very day you two started getting along. I should've worked my absolute hardest to prevent it" He says dramatically "I knew you'd abuse me"
I laugh "Oh come on, Nicky"
"Dude has a point" Kyle smirks.
"Chels used to be nice to me. Now she's been hanging out with your rude ass too much"
"I'm still nice to you" I protest.
He raises a brow "Really now? What about that time that you and Kyle laughed at me when I told you that I didn't do well in my exam"
"We all laughed!" I defend amused.
He scowls "You two laughed the loudest"
"So what?" Kyle shakes his head "Dude, you're just trying to pick a fight with us"
"Okay, how about that time you two pranked me by putting toothpaste on my hand and then tickling my eyes so I would try to slap away whatever it was when I slept at yours?"
I laugh loudly at the memory.
We really did do that. Nick is very fun to mess with. I didn't realize it until Kyle and I started doing it a lot.
Apparently he's done that all their lives.
"I told you not to sleep" Kyle reminds "But you never listen"
"Do you guys know how much that shit burned?" He argues exasperated.
I point to Kyle "It was all him"
"All I'm saying is I regret ever wishing you two would get along" He grumbles.
I snort "Sucks to be you"
"Anyways, do you guys think this trip would be the perfect time to tell Winnie about my feelings?" He asks softly; unsurely.
"Yeah, I mean, she's been single a month now" I answer just as unsure.
I haven't spoken to her in so long. I just feel like I don't know where her mind is at. But I also don't want to be a bad friend and not offer Nick any advice.
"I'm nervous" He murmurs.
"You'll just have to find the perfect moment" I offer meekly. I nudge a quiet Kyle "Speak, dude, you've known them longer"
He shrugs "Nicholas knows how I feel about him and Winona"
"And what is that?" I ask confused.
"He doesn't think it's a good idea" Nick replies "He says it wouldn't work out because we've known each other so long as just friends that it would be awkward to be anything more"
He has a point.
I bit my lip thoughtfully "I don't know, Nick. Just do whatever you think is right"
"Thanks, little Chels" He offers a meek smile.
We carry on the rest of the two hours with music and lighter conversations.
****
Woah. This place is BEAUTIFUL.
We've just entered the Gill Resort after a friendly greeting from the securities since they know Kyle and Nick, and my eyes and mouth have been incapable of closing. I didn't think it would be this big and beautiful.
There are wood cabinets all over the show, small ones, medium and big ones. There is a mini show ground, not really mini though because it has a freaking Ferris Wheel and a few other rides. But it's mini because of the tiny amount of space it takes on this huge resort. There is already snow this side so it just adds to the beauty of it all.
(feel free to use your own imagination)
There is also a big slope which is where I'm guessing people go skiing or something, and I can actually see a few from where we are.
Woah.
"Nick? Your parents own this whole place?" I gape shocked.
"Yep. Pretty sweet, huh?"
The boy aren't as in awe as I mean. I mean they've been coming here every Christmas break so I guess they're used to it by now... but still wowza.
We drive around, with Nathan's car right behind us until we park at one of the cabinets. It's one of the big ones; a double story.
Nice.
It's cold but I'm too excited to care, plus I'm
dressed in pretty warm clothing. I breathe happily when the snow touches my shoe. I'm so excited!
"Welcome to the 'double-N K' cabinet" Nick grins excitedly when he gets out "I missed this little guy"
"What does 'double-N K' mean?"
"Don't ask" Kyle mutters shaking his head.
"Ignore him. It means the Nicholas, Nathan and Kyle cabinet. We kind of own it. My parents don't let anyone but us use it" Nick informs me excitedly.
Woah.
"Hi you guys" Kat runs over to us after she gets out of Nathan's car that has just parked "Chels, did you see this place? It's crazy"
"Tell me about it" I breathe.
"I haven't been here since sophomore year. I missed this" Winnie gapes when she joins us.
Two guys who I think are chauffeurs make their way to us before loading our bags on some trolley things. They struggle a little at driving it because of the snow and the three boys gladly help. I think they're all on first name basis because they looked to be joking around.
Cute.
Winnie, Kat and I are just standing right behind them and excitedly waiting to see the damn masterpiece of a cabinet.
The door opens and the boys fiddle a little by the entrance before moving away so that we can enter. We make sure to take off our boots though since they're kind of wet outside from the snow. We walk around in our warm socks comfortably.
"Wow" We all breathe at the same time.
"This is beautiful" Kathrine adds in awe as Winnie and I agree.
The place is so warm also very huge, there is a stair case, a big nicely decorated kitchen and an even bigger living room. There is also a fire place, a piano just underneath the stair case, and a book shelf with those many books.
One could never get bored here.
"You guys there's an indoor jacuzzi somewhere around here" Winnie excitedly informs "But I forgot where"
"Girl, you better find it" I joke.
She grins before signaling for us to follow her. We find it down the corridor in its own glass room. We enter and are immediately greeted with warmth and steam.
"Woah" We breath again.
"I can't wait to swim in this" Kat squeals.
Same sister.
"Why do you guys look so happy?" We are disturbed by Nathan's voice and we look behind us to see all the boys.
"Well for some of us, it's our first time here" I deadpan rolling my eyes at him.
"Right" He snorts.
"Okay so the bad news is that there's only four bedroom so some of us will have to share" Nick informs awkwardly.
"There's four?" Winnie gapes accusingly "What exactly is your guyses excuse for always leaving me behind then?"
Nick laughs "The problem wasn't space, Winona. Trust us, you did want to be the only
girl here"
Eww.
"Whatever" Kat intervenes before looking at her boyfriend "Babe, you don't mind sharing, right?"
He shakes his head "No problem"
I'm actually glad she didn't ask me because I'm sure Nathan would be in our room most of the time, and a girl kind of needs some privacy.
Winnie shrugs "Nick, I'll share with you. One of the bedrooms has two beds right?"
"Yep" Nick nods excitedly.
He can't even hide it. So funny.
"Well, Chelsea-Anne, I guess you and I will have the single rooms" Kyle informs "Not that I was ever going to share with any of you"
I bite my lip guiltily "Are you guys sure?"
"Yeah" They all nod reassuringly.
"You guys could always share if you want to so badly, then they'd just be a spare" Nick teases.
"Okay. Shut up now" Kyle deadpans.
"Let's go get settled" Kat chirps excitedly.
I don't know why, but all the girls start running upstairs while the boys roll their eyes before just strolling there.
They're definitely way too used to this place.
Luckily they already moved our suitcases for us so they're just by the corridor. There is a huge chandelier on the roof and I gape widely. Woah. There are four doors up here and we all look at each other confused since we're not sure who's room is which.
The three musketeers finally arrive after taking their sweet time.
"We all meet downstairs in fifteen minutes, okay?" Nick informs and we all nod.
Nathan then opens the door to his and Kat's bedroom before they both enter and close the door.
Nick does the same for Winnie.
"Chambers? Which one is mine?" I grin looking to him.
"Follow me, it's right next to mine" He says.
Follow him I do. Our rooms are right at the end of the corridor, a few feet away from the other two. He opens my door for me and enters in front of me.
"Woah" I breathe dropping my suitcase.
There's not really much but I think it's just the way it's the designed that impressed me. There's a mixture of white and grey colors.
Anyways, there is a giant bed in the middle of room and two nightstands next to it with lamps and some lavender smelling sprays. There is a huge cardboard on the side and a TV, and a couch on the side of it. There is another door inside which I'm guessing is the bathroom.
"Why are you guys so fascinated by everything?" He ask confused as he throws himself on the bed.
"Because, mister, we've never been here. We don't expect you guys to relate because you come here every year" I retort, taking my jackets out of my suitcase and hanging them.
"Oh" He mutters.
"Are your parents and Nick's close?"
He nods "Yeah. When we were younger all our families, Winona's too, used to spend Christmas here. The Gill's would let us stay for free"
Nice.
"When did it become a 'getting girls' trip?" I ask teasingly, a brow raised.
He shakes his head amused "I don't know, when Nicholas and I got older and our parents stopped coming with?"
"Wow" I laugh softly "I think it's back to being a family trip now, huh?"
He snorts "You ain't family"
"I am too" I protest "We're like all one giant happy family even though we've only fully known each other for like three months"
"Then there's a lot of incest going around in this family" He jokes.
"Tell me about it" I play along amused.
He just shakes his head while watching me. I take out all my shoes and lay them on the floor of the cardboard.
"Do you think I should take out the rest of my clothes?" I ask looking back at him.
He shrugs "It'll he easier than opening your suitcase every time you want to change"
"Touché" I murmur before doing just that.
It doesn't take long because all my clothes are folded anyways so all I have to do is place them neatly on the shelves.
"So? Want me to go watch you now?" I ask when I'm done as I lay next to him.
This bed is so comfortable!
We're both laying on our sides and facing each other, only a few inches away. We do this sometimes, but only in my room because I'm yet to see his.
"I'll do it later" He tells me.
I hum skeptically "That's what they all say, Chambers. I bet you your clothes will stay in your suitcase the whole trip"
"You don't have much faith in me, do you?"
"I try not to make it obvious" I tease smugly to which he just rolls his eyes at me.
"Your nose is pink. Are you cold?" He asks looking at my face fascinated.
I touch it on instinct "Not really. It just reacts that way to snow even if I'm not freezing. I look ridiculous, huh?"
"Not quite" He murmurs watching me.
Calm down, heartbeat.
I smile sheepishly "I feel like I look like a clown. You know how they have red noses"
"It's not their real nose" He deadpans.
"Still" I retort.
"Kyle! Chelsea! We're all waiting for you guys" Comes Kathrine's voice. It sounds very faint so I'm guessing they're all already downstairs.
Awkward.
"Come on, clown" He says getting up and I grumble before following him.
"Do you guys want to tell us what you were so busy doing?" Nick demands when we arrive.
"Jeez, sorry" I mutter.
Nathan just smirks at me before winking to which I flip him off when no ones watching.
"Whatever. Let's go!" Winnie cheers enthusiastically "Nick and Nathan say they have things to show us"
"Okay, lets go" I say and then we put on our shoes before walking out of the double-N K cabinet.
Can't wait to have fun!
