After divorce, Ex-wife Revealed Identities

Chapter 622

He frowned as he surveyed the room, only to find that all his clothes

had been neatly folded and placed in a corner of the sofa.

He grabbed his clothes and put them on when suddenly there was a

loud "bang!" from the kitchen.

He rushed towards the kitchen, only to see a girl squatting in front of

the stove, reaching out to pick up broken dishes.

“I'll do it. Be careful not to cut yourself..." Before he finished his

sentence, he heard the "hiss" sound. Jenna's finger had been cut by a

piece of glass, and blood instantly spilled out.

He quickly held her hand and said with some tenderness, "Why are you

so careless? Let me get you a band-aid."

Jenna shook her head. "It's okay. It'll stop bleeding soon enough. Are

you better now?"

Brayden took her hand and went straight to the living room where he

saw an easy-to-use medical kit that Jenna had taken out earlier. He

quickly found a band-aid from inside it and put it on her finger.

"Don't let it get wet. Even though it's just a small wound, you still need

to be careful.”

Although he said this, Brayden noticed an antipyretic package on the

table which made him frown slightly."Antipyretics?"

Jenna nodded."You have a fever but should be better now."

"No wonder my head hurts so much." Brayden nodded. "Did you help

me take medicine?"

Under Brayden's gaze, Jenna blushed slightly.

She hurriedly turned around and walked towardsthe kitchen. "I... I'm still

cooking porridge! Wait for just another moment."

Strange... why did she blush?

Brayden furrowed his brows. However, his heart felt warm because this

little girl was taking care of him so carefully which gave him some

comfort during these difficult times.

After having porridge, it was already close to three o'clock in the

afternoon.

As soon as they stepped outside, the cold wind hit them.

Bradyen couldn't help but cough. This caught Jenna's attention.

"How are you feeling? Maybe we should tell Mrs. Ritter that we'll

reschedule for another day, and I can go with you to see a doctor..."

"No need. It's just a minor cold." Brayden dismissed her concern.

Thinking about how his father was suffering in prison, he couldn't wait

even for one more minute.

Jenna looked at his pale face and didn't say anything more. The image

of him kissing her while she fed him medicine involuntarily appeared in

her mind. Her face reddened, and she quickly hailed a taxi and got into

it.

Brayden was taken aback. Why was she blushing again? Did

something happen while he was asleep with a fever? Suddenly, it hit

him that he wasn't wearing any clothes when he woke up and there

were only the two of them in the room. Did she help him undress? The

thought made his heart race with disbelief and excitement.

Half an hour later, the taxi stopped at a prestigious social club in

Urgford owned by the Ritter family. Mrs. Ritter herself often entertained

guests here.

Jenna followed Brayden into the lobby where they were greeted by the

manager who asked if they were Master Brayden and Miss Shepherd.

"Yes, is Mrs. Ritter here?" Brayden politely inquired.

The manager smiled, "Please follow me. You are her esteemed guests

and she has been expecting you."

Brayden furrowed his brow suspiciously. The Ritter family wielded great

power in Urgford with complex familial ties; Mrs. Ritter herself held

significant influence not just within her own family but also as a

renowned socialite throughout Urgford's elite circles. Why would she

lower herself to meet with them from Larro?

Cody was Larro's mayor but that didn't hold much weight among

Urgford's powerful elites.

So why?

Soon enough Jenna and Brayden found themselves led into a luxurious

private room decorated with expensive crystal chandeliers and Italian

leather sofas arranged around a central coffee table where Mrs. Ritter

sat elegantly coiffed in fashionable attire.

She calmly gestured for them to sit down before speaking softly, “I

heard that you have good relations with Master Keturah?"

Mrs. Ritter fixed her gaze on Jenna intently, "Is Master Keturah easy to

get along with?"

Jenna froze up. She instinctively looked towards Brayden for support.

Brayden never expected Mrs. Ritter to bring up Sylvia when she

opened her mouth to speak.

Suddenly, a bad feeling rose in his heart. "Mrs. Ritter, what do you

mean by that?" he asked.
