Chapter 771

After divorce, Ex-wife Revealed Identities

Chapter 771

“I didn't blame either of you," Mrs. Wright took some ointment and

applied it to Jenna's wound, "The incident has already happened, and

the media has been fueling it. The Ritter family wants to see us

condemned by public opinion.”

"Now we need a new trending topic or something else to suppress the

heat of this matter.”

"But... our Wright family has always been law-abiding, and there is no

deep background behind us. Compared with those big families in

Urgford, our family is insignificant,” Mrs. Wright felt a little sad.

Brayden looked at his mother's expression and couldn't help but say,

"Mom... how about calling Grandpa?"

Mrs. Wright chuckled softly, "Since I cut ties with your grandfather's

family back then, I can't go back to them again. When there is a will

there is a way."

“I shouldn't have acted impulsively and implicated my dad,” Brayden

lowered his head.

"How about I apologize to the Ritter family?" Jenna whispered, "If it

weren't for me, this wouldn't have happened.”

"Jenna, we definitely cannot apologize because we are not at fault

here. They have always been framing our family and forcing us to bow

down," Mrs. Wright said seriously. "I know you feel bad inside but it's

okay; I believe that our Wright family won't be so fragile.”

After Cody came out of the examination room he was pushed into the

ward by a nurse.

He just heard what Mrs. Wright said: "Honey, you're right; our Wright

family isn't easy to defeat.”

“I've sent my assistant out looking for evidence now," she continued.

“It will all come out in due time," Cody sat on the bed.

Just then another trending topic appeared on Twitter - plastic surgery

hospital murder case.

#Plastic Surgeon Tragically Dies#

The first few tweets were normal enough but as they went on things

started getting weirder.

"As an official parent in Urgford, what is Cody doing?"

"Why isn't he taking action?"

"He's responsible for making Urgford so unsafe!"

"We're too scared even leave home now.”

"Cody, hurry up solve this case!"

Brayden was furious. "How could they blame my dad for such a serious

crime like murder?"

"These people are going too far! Solving cases should be handled by

police headquarters!" Jenna's face turned red from anger as she spoke

up loudly

“It's obvious that they bought fake followers to attack our family,” Cody

sneered. "The more the Ritter family jumps around, the more desperate

they seem. Let me see what they are capable of."

Did they really think Cody was a pushover?

Did they think he could be controlled by the Ritter family?

If he were weak, he wouldn't have been able to become Larro's right-

hand man on his own.

By nightfall, public opinion on social media had reached a boiling point.

Almost everyone knew about Brayden's violent behavior towards

women.

The video had an alarming number of likes and comments, especially

shares.

Although there was no sound in the video, you could see Brayden's

terrifying expression and how hard he squeezed Ashlyn's neck.

Some people who were familiar with the Ritter family called to express

their sympathy and concern.

"Miss Ritter has suffered so much. The Wright family is too arrogant!"

“This Master Brayden doesn't know his limits. His future wife will suffer

from domestic violence for sure."

"Yes, Miss Ritter, don't worry. I'm on your side."

Some celebrities also began speaking out one after another since The

Ritter Group had a place in Urgford as well as some small stars under

its capital umbrella who started standing up for Ashlyn too.

Hezekiah McCarthy: As a man myself, I feel ashamed of Brayden. How

can someone hit a woman? If you're brave enough go catch those

thugs who killed plastic surgeons instead!

Sofia: I can't stand watching this anymore! A man treating a woman like

this is disgusting! Shameful!

Titus Lancaster: a guy resorting to violence deserves condemnation

from everyone!

Meredith: I'm so sad for Miss Ritter and all women who have been

victims of violence like her. Down with violent men!

Ashlyn looked at all these people supporting her on Twitter with joy

while sitting comfortably on her living room sofa.

"I fell down back then but now it seems worth it."

Mrs. Ritter sat down beside her, "Of course it's worth it. Now the Wright

family is like a rat crossing the street, everyone is cursing them.

Whoever sees them has to say something bad."

"With such intense public opinion, will the President replace him? Will

my dad take his place?" Ashlyn happily popped a strawberry into her

mouth.

“It depends on whether those in the cabinet will continue to speak well

of your father. If they are willing to stand up for him and if the

President's attitude softens..." Mrs. Ritter couldn't help but laugh, "Then

you won't just be a corporate socialite, you'll also be someone that all

other socialites try to suck up to."

The more they thought about it, the happier mother and daughter

became. When Mrs. Ritter was happy, she gave Ashlyn two hundred

thousand dollars without hesitation and said: "Go spend it with your

girlfriends over tea.”

"Mom... two hundred thousand seems a bit too little? You know Katie

always has so much pocket money; either from her sister-in-law or

cousin... our family only has me with no siblings or in-laws giving me

any pocket money," Ashlyn held onto Mrs. Ritter's arm while acting

cute,"Give me some more please?"

Mrs. Ritter tapped her nose playfully, "Sly girl"" She then gave another

fifty thousand dollars saying, "Spend wisely."

Donovan came downstairs and saw his wife and daughter laughing like

blooming flowers; he also had an elated expression on his face,"ls

there good news? Why are you so happy?"

"Dad, the Wright family is being cursed online left right center! Aren't

you unhappy about that?"

“I haven't taken office yet, so we can't get too excited too soon,

otherwise we'll end up disappointed for nothing," Donovan pretended to

have a serious expression but couldn't help smiling.

"Honey, you're always too cautious at home; nobody else can see us

being happy," Mrs. Ritter picked up a strawberry and placed it near

Donovan's lips,” Don't say anything negative because I'm sure you'll

take office eventually! Then I'll become Secretary's wife."

Donovan felt flattered by his wife's praise.

Just then, Ashlyn's phone rang; she saw that Katie was calling, so she

answered while popping another strawberry into her mouth.

"Katie, is everything okay? Why are you calling this late?"

"Ashlyn, something happened! Look at Twitter quickly! There might be

new information regarding Brayden hitting you!" Katie sounded nervous

as she spoke, " Is what they're saying true?"

Ashlyn didn't hang up the phone in confusion, instead she switched to

Twitter. There she saw a trending topic that caught her attention.

#Ashlyn insults Jenna!

#Ashlyn hits Jenna first

#Brayden stands up for his sister

What is all this about?

She clicked on these three topics one by one and was dumbfounded.

There was an interview video posted on the trending page.

A reporter was interviewing a passerby who had a work badge hanging

from their neck. The badge clearly indicated that they worked at the

piano association building.

The employee's name and ID number were blurred out on the badge,

and their voice had been altered as well.

“I had just finished work and walked out of the building when I saw

Ashlyn humiliating Jenna at the entrance. I didn't even know who they

were before this incident became so popular these days."

The reporter asked him, "What happened then?"

"At that time, Jenna was standing at the entrance when Ashlyn came

over and insulted her first. Then she pushed Jenna down. Many people

witnessed it, including me. Brayden happened to see it too while getting

off his car and got angry when he saw what happened. Ashlyn

provoked him with words again.”

"That's why Brayden fought back," said the reporter nodding frequently.

"Yes, yes, yes," replied the employee affirmatively.

Then several other passersby from inside of that building were

randomly interviewed by reporters as well:

"Oh, I wasn't there that day.”

"l don't know about this incident.”

“I do know about it though; I was there." And then this person explained

what had happened at that time.

After finishing all these interviews, reporters waited outside for more

interviews to come.

Watching this video left Ashlyn feeling completely blank in her head.

How could things have turned out like this?

Donovan stood up angrily from his couch: "Damn Cody! He's so

sneaky!"

"Honey, don't get mad yet; let's think of how we can handle things first."

Mrs. Ritter quickly tried to calm him down.

Just then, another trending topic appeared at top of all others with an

added exclamation mark:

#Ashlyn bullies old lady in mall

"Bullying an old lady? When did you ever bully an old lady?" Mrs. Ritter

felt a headache coming on; why did everything seem to be happening

all at once?

Ashlyn was still in a daze, unable to recall anything. "When did I ever

bully an old lady? I don't even interact with them normally!"

"Is Cody deliberately framing you?" Donovan also leaned over to look

at Twitter with his daughter and wife.

Then they saw it...

Ashlyn was dumbfounded.

“This thing happened a long time ago. At that time, I ran into Sylvia and

Franklin at the mall, and I had just had a conflict with an old lady. How

come there's still video of something so long ago?"

"You!" Donovan glared at her helplessly, his voice full of annoyance.

“You've been spoiled by the family all this time!"

Now things have turned around as public opinion begins to shift.
