Yin Tao felt she could freely speak her mind with Su Yan. She seemed very forthright and didn’t seem to be the calculative type.

After Yin Tao finished speaking, Su Yan seemed to have been unleashed. She filled her plate to the brim before going to find a seat with Yin Tao.

Yin Tao was initially worried that Su Yan wouldn’t be able to finish so much food, but Su Yan had almost cleared her plate when Yin Yao was only halfway through her food.

“I’ll go buy two glasses of water. Take your time.” Yin Tao got up to get drinks. Su Yan had surprised her a few times this morning.

After they finished their meal at the canteen, Yin Tao was initially concerned that Su Yan would feel bloated. However, when she saw Su Yan munching nonchalantly on a sausage, Yin Tao felt that she was being too paranoid.

“Dr. Yin, do you know Captain Feng Jing?” Su Yan and Yin Tao were walking back to the police station when Su Yan suddenly asked her this question. Yin Tao slowly stopped in her tracks.

“Just call me Xiaotao.” Yin Tao suddenly recalled Su Ning’s previous conversation with her. He seemed to have said that he wanted to introduce his cousin to Feng Jing. At that time, Yin Tao thought that he was joking. It was only when his cousin suddenly appeared that Yin Tao realized that Su Ning might have been serious.

“Do you want to know Captain Feng?” Yin Tao had just asked when she saw Su Yan’s eyes flicker like a puppy.

“Of course, Captain Feng Jing is a legendary figure in our police academy!”

Yin Tao smiled awkwardly and said, “You’ll get to know him when you start your internship.”

“Is Captain Feng Jing usually very busy? Sister Xiaotao, are you familiar with him?” At the mention of her idol, Su Yan seemed to have suddenly become very talkative.

“He’s quite busy I suppose, I’m not too sure either. After all, how close can a forensic doctor like me be to a detective captain?” Yin Tao wanted to change the topic, but a junior officer from division two walked over.

“Dr. Yin, where is Captain Feng?”

“Captain Chen, this is Su Yan, an intern detective reporting to the station today.” Yin Tao introduced Su Yan to Captain Chen.

“Oh, I know. Old Su told me. Just follow me.” Captain Chen gestured for Su Yan to follow him. Before he left, he turned to Yin Tao and instructed, “Xiaotao, if you see Captain Feng, help me tell him that I’m looking for him.”

Yin Tao smiled bitterly and nodded, no longer daring to look at Su Yan.

Yin Tao was bored when she went back to her dormitory to rest. She picked a horror movie to watch, but the blood and corpses in the movie were so fake that she couldn’t enjoy the show at all. The plot of the movie was so predictable that it made her sleepy instead. She didn’t know if it was because she always accompanied Feng Jing on his investigation work, but she felt that her logical thinking skills had become much sharper.

Looking at the time, Yin Tao sent a message to Lin Jia.

[Brother Lin Jia, I’m free now. When are you free? Let’s meet.]

After the message was composed and sent, Yin Tao received Lin Jia’s reply less than a minute later.

[Then let’s pick a cafeteria. I’ll pick you up at the police station later.]
