Chapter 1124
Spoiled (Lily)
Alban wanted to pretend that the previous events had never happened.
Lilly sneered when she heard that. âRude?â
She sat on a chair and looked at Alban with a frown. She showed a sacred and inviolable power invisibly.
Alban said sincerely, âYes, I was rude before. When I saw you all for the first time, I regarded you as idle rich kids and thought that everything you got didnât require your efforts but from the elders.â
Alban remembered when he stood outside the school auditorium and watched the video of her math competition. Only then did he realize how seriously he had misunderstood. Lilly was not only talented and mighty but also had a high IQ.
âNow I know youâre not idle. Youâve been working so hardâ¦â
Lilly interrupted him, âStop!â She did not want to hear any kind words from him.
âWhat you said is only the prejudice of people toward people. You donât know me, so the prejudices are understandable. But do you think we donât like you and wonât be friends with you just because of prejudice?â
Alban was stunned when he heard that. âOtherwise?â
Suddenly, he remembered that he had hurt Ivan once in the Abyss of Ghosts.
Alban blurted out, âIs it because of Ivan Shaw?â
He looked at Lilly silently. Her eyes were clear, and he could vaguely tell she would be beautiful in a few years.
Even now that she was only eight years old, Alban asked, âYou like Ivan?â
Lilly was speechless. Of course, she liked Ivan. She would not be friends with the person she hated.
How could he ask such a stupid question?
Lilly answered, âOf course I like Ivan, but I donât like you.â
Alban frowned. âYouâre still young. Why do you like him?â
With such great talent, shouldnât she spend her whole life becoming stronger? She thinks about love instead!
Alban did not hope Lilly, who had strength and power, would eventually become a manâs vassal!
âYouâre wasting your talent,â Alban said disappointedly.
Lilly frowned. She did not understand what he meant.
Alban added, âIsnât it unfair to hold hostility toward me just because you like Ivan?â
âAre you crazy?â Lilly looked at Alban in confusion.
She did not mean to scold him. She was indeed asking if he had crazy thoughts.
Alban was not annoyed, nor did he show any sarcasm. âIâve been waiting for you for a week and sincerely want to get to know you again. I hope to clear up the misunderstanding. I must survive. I have a younger sister. I think itâs irrational if youâre hostile to me because you like Ivan.â
Lilly had never met anyone like Alban.
âIâm hostile to you, not because of Ivan.â Lilly looked at him coldly. âEven if itâs someone else, my prejudice will remain the same unless everyone should punish that person.â
Alban argued for himself, âAm I wrong? I donât believe you wouldnât fight for it if you were in a crisis with only one chance to survive.â
Lilly stood up. âI donât like you because you have such a concept; you are extremely selfish and narrow-minded. Of course, Iâll fight for it. If I donât know that person, Iâll only take the chance of survival, but I wonât hurt that person or put him to death to ensure Iâm safe!â
Alban stared at her. âWhat if that person is mean?â
Lilly also stared at him. âWhat if heâs not?â
Alban refused to give up. âWhen I donât know him, itâs natural for me to think of him as a mean person!
We can never trust human nature!â
Lilly retorted, âYou treat a person as despicable just because you donât know him. Whatâs the difference between you and Cheryl? You never believed in human nature. Thatâs why you have no humanity!â
Alban thought Lilly was nonsense.
At least I protect and give everything to my sister! Would I care about my family if I had no humanity?
âYour thoughts are too holy,â Alban said.
