LONELY! TXT.
Choi Jaewon stepped into her house only to wince in pain as something stabbed itself into her foot. Darting herself backward, she rested her hand against the door frame and brought her foot up, examining the glass shard stuck into her skin now. Biting her lip, she carefully held onto the glass and pulled it out, eyes tearing up at the pain.
Dropping the glass, the girl placed her foot back on the ground and looked around the house, observing glass and broken bottles lying around from the kitchen to the living room. She walked forward, making sure to avoid any more glass as bloody footprints were left behind.
Entering the living room, she peeked inside to see her father passed out on the couch, three full bottles lying by his side. Sighing, Jaewon quietly walked upstairs to her room and threw her bag onto the bed, stretching her sore back before limping to her father's room to get a blanket.
After getting the material, she went back downstairs, letting out a string of curse words when she felt the stinging pain settle in her foot. After spreading out the blanket and laying it on her father, she grabbed the bottles and took them away, placing them on the kitchen table before grabbing a broom. Still limping in pain, she slowly but surely cleaned up everything, accidentally pricking her finger on another piece of glass as she did so.
Once there was no glass to be seen, Jaewon forced herself to move upstairs and take a shower, washing away the now dried blood on her body. Once she was done with that too, she changed into fresh clothes and grabbed her wallet, mentally thanking the world for not having a shift today as her foot hurt a lot now.
Giving one final glance to her still sleeping father, she put on sandals and left the house, needing bandages from the pharmacy store nearby for her still bleeding foot. Sighing, she glanced at her watch only to realize it was broken. Rolling her eyes, she pulled out her phone and saw that there was no battery. Cursing the world for her amazing luck, she angrily attempted to stuff the phone into her pocket but before she could, she crashed into a tall figure.
Gasping, both people fell onto the ground, Jaewon's only phone cracking as it met the ground.
"For fuck's sake!" the girl finally exploded, wincing as she forced herself to stand up.
"Oh! I'm so sorry-" the man who had bumped into her tried saying as he stood up but then stopped.
Their eyes met and both gasped again, automatically taking a step away from each other.
"Yeonjun!" Jaewon muttered out loud, startled by the appearance of the blue hair weirdo.
"Jaewon!" Yeonjun stuttered, smiling awkwardly.
Choi Yeonjun was screwed. He never ever wanted Jaewon to discover the fact he lived this close to her but wearing casual clothes and walking around this neighborhood was basically screaming it out.
but then he caught sight of her foot.
"Ya! Why are you bleeding?" he asked at once, crouching down to examine the girl's foot.
She flinched and took another step back as Yeonjun quickly stood up straight again.
"What happened?" he asked, concerned immediately.
"I just stepped on the wrong thing." Jaewon replied truthfully, looking back at the blue hair weirdo.
His silly blue hair was messy against the wind, softly brushing against round silver glasses that made his face look cute. He was wearing simple grey sweatpants and a loose black shirt but was still looking stylish. He could have been a model.
Blushing only a little bit, Jaewon gave a small nod and set out for the pharmacy again, wincing as she walked since the pain was getting worse.
"Stop!" Yeonjun called at once, running forward and stopping in front of her.
She nearly stumbled but caught herself quickly enough, automatically looking up and glaring at Yeonjun who shrugged.
"Get on my back, I'll take you to the pharmacy." he offered and turned around, crouching down for her to get on.
Eyes widened, Jaewon wildy shook her head before realizing Yeonjun couldn't see her at the moment.
"No way!" she said.
"Don't argue and get on or else I'm not giving you lunch tomorrow." Yeonjun threatened although he couldn't bear not giving the girl food.
Jaewon thought about how much hunger she felt everyday and how Yeonjun's food immensely helped her before hesitantly climbing onto the male's back.
Adjusting to the girl's weight, Yeonjun held onto her thighs which had latched itself around his waist before standing up and walking towards the nearby pharmacy.
He really wanted to know what had been the reason for her injury but decided not to ask, respecting Jaewon's privacy as he knew she would have liked.
The first few minutes was in silence, Jaewon eventually wrapping her arms around Yeonjun's neck to get a better grip of the boy. After a little bit though, she finally spoke, that too a question Yeonjun had been dreading to hear.
"Why are you here?"
Not wanting to lie but not wanting to tell her the truth at the same time, he debated for a few seconds before answering truthfully.
"I live here."
"Oh." was all Jaewon said, deciding not to say more.
They both arrived at the pharmacy and Yeonjun bent down, allowing the girl to hop off and limp towards the bench in front of the store before sitting down.
"Wait here." Yeonjun called out before popping into the store.
A little confused, Jaewon waited, fidgeting with her fingers until the male came bag holding a plastic bag.
Yeonjun kneeled in front of Jaewon and then pulled out the things he had bought. Handing her the lollipop first, he watched as her eyes widened and she took the candy, a small smile rising to her face.
Choi Jaewon had no idea Yeonjun knew about her lollipop addiction but she was secretly thankful he had bought this for her. As Yeonjun looked down and started unwrapping the bandage, she sighed in relief at her favorite flavour before taking off the cover and sticking the treat into her mouth, at once savouring the strawberry sourness.
She was enjoying her mouthwatering sweet when she suddenly felt warm hands hold onto her leg. Flinching but not pulling away, Jaewon looked down, startled.
"I'm putting this for you." Yeonjun replied, not even looking at her as he started wrapping the white cloth around her bleeding foot.
"I-" Jaewon started but Yeonjun shushed her at once, not letting the girl protest.
Unconsciously pouting, Jaewon crossed her arms back and rested against the wooden bench, lollipop switching the other side of her cheek while she continued to savour the candy.
Yeonjun glanced at her frustrated face before letting out a small smirk and completly wrapping her foot. He stood up and dusted his grey sweatpants off, tilting his head and smiling at Jaewon's still annoyed face.
"Give me your hand." he said and held out his own.
Blushing at once by the heart fluttering sentence, Jaewon immediately let her hand drop onto his without arguing. Yeonjun, grinning in spite of himself, grabbed a plaster he had bought before sitting down on the bench next to her.
Jaewon watched as Yeonjun removed the tape and carefully stuck the plaster onto her bleeding finger which she had no idea he noticed. She watched, finding the way Yeonjun's tongue was sticking out of his plump lips as he concentrated, cute.
Shaking her head at the weird thoughts she was having, she stood up, startling the blue haired male.
"I should go now." she muttered, embarrassed.
Yeonjun nodded, standing up as well as he noticed the sky turning dark into a orange pink color.
"See you at school tomorrow then." he waved to her.
She nodded too before giving a small bow for no reason and turning around, heading towards her house at once.
Although Yeonjun's house was the same way, he waited a bit longer, knowing at the moment Jaewon wanted to be alone.
Once he couldn't see the girl anymore, he set off towards his own home, forcing himself not to think about how cute she looked when eating a lollipop.
