Chapter 18

18

LONELY! TXT.

Choi Jaewon held onto Soobin's hand as they both walked into campus together. It was Tuesday and it had been a while since the students had seen her. So, when she walked into campus with one of the four most popular kids, gossip started.

Choi Soobin had woken up early, asking his mom for an extra breakfast before heading to Jaewon's house.

She had been very surprised when he showed up minutes before she left and handed her a sandwich. Soobin had told her from now on, he would walk her to school. Jaewon ( of course ), refused at first but Soobin didn't budge, not allowing her to be by herself for any more time. She had already spent years alone.

And so Soobin and Jaewon walked to school together, eventually holding each other's hand since Jaewon was still a little weak. Once Soobin dropped her at her class and into Beomgyu's hands, he nodded and left towards his own.

Choi Beomgyu had come to school moments after Jaewon and Soobin only to hear rumors of them dating. Angry by the sudden news, he threw his bag into his locker and stormed towards his classroom, pushing Jisoo who was trying to talk to him on the way. When he arrived though, no one was there.

Trying to calm himself down, he forced himself not to believe Jaewon was cheating on him before finally he saw them at the door.

At the sight of Jaewon limping, he understood at once why they were holding hands and quickly ran to her, taking his girlfriend away from Soobin.

Soobin gave a nod and disappeared as Jaewon looked up at Beomgyu and gave a small smile.

"Were you worried for me?" she asked, chuckling quietly as she stood up straight.

Beomgyu pulled his arms away and broke a smile at her teasing.

"No, not at all." he replied.

Shaking her head and grinning, Jaewon walked to her seat and sat down just as the english teacher walked in.

Choi Jaewon decided it was time to get back on track. Pulling out her notebook, she opened it to a fresh page ( the first page ) and grabbed a pen, ready to write.

At the tentativeness of the girl, the english teacher secretly smiled before writing down the date and today's lesson plan.

"I am sure no one remembered but your english assignment is due this Friday." he started and multiple students groaned, including Beomgyu.

Jaewon remembered with a start of how nearly a month ago, she had been partnered up with Beomgyu against her will and had been told to complete the english project. So much had happened after that, Jaewon making friends and getting a boyfriend.

She was so different now.

The class went on, the teacher calmly explaining everything for the assignment. Once it was done, Beomgyu held onto Jaewon's hand and they left the classroom together, heading for their math period.

"Shall we study at my house? My mom keeps asking when are you going to come over." Beomgyu asked, laughing awkwardly as they arrived at the classroom.

"Sure." Jaewon replied, smiling.

Suddenly, Jisoo walked by, immediately grabbing onto Beomgyu's arm as Jaewon's smile disappeared, almost like magic.

"Heyyyy Gyu! Did you hear about the trip Kai planned? Are you coming, he really wants everyone to go!" Jisoo whined and Jaewon openly rolled her eyes.

No one found Jaewon's behavior indifferent of course since "rolling eyes" was her classic move.

Beomgyu gently pushed Jisoo's arm off him before shrugging.

"When is it?" he asked.

"The first two weeks of summer." Jisoo replied immediately.

"I don't know..." Beomgyu trailed off.

Choi Beomgyu knew that going on a trip with these kids would probably be the best way to start of the next year and it would most likely make him an "official student in the popular group" but at the same time, the first 2 weeks of summer was the same date TXT and Jaewon were leaving to Japan.

He didn't care much about the TXT members, especially Choi Yeonjun, but he wanted to spend some fun time with Jaewon away from school and Seoul.

Not being able to choose at once, he bid Jisoo farewell and turned around, heading into the class with Jaewon by his side.

Now he had to pick how he was going to spend his summer.

Kang Taehyun cheered as all of his friends agreed to going on the trip, including Jaewon.

When he asked how she was allowed to come, she shrugged saying she just asked her father who said yes.

The person who took the longest time to reply was Huening Kai. The maknae had to beg his mother who thought that her son was too young to go on such a trip. In the end, Huening Kai threatened to move out and she finally said yes.

"Summer is in a month so we better start packing!" Huening Kai said, excited he was finally going on a trip away from his family.

"Why pack now?" Jaewon asked, shaking her head as Yeonjun gave her his second lunchbox.

Their eyes met and both looked away, Yeonjun's cheeks changed to a small shade of pink, Taehyun's keen eyes catching the faint color before smirking.

He knew that Jaewon had a boyfriend, the whole school did but he still found Yeonjun's crush amusing.

"Why not?" Huening Kai pointed out to Jaewon's unanswered question.

"Good point." she replied and then stopped talking.

"Don't worry too much about money. My parents already booked us a place to stay and they know some good restaurant owners." Taehyun said, eating his own food which his maids had cooked.

Jaewon looked up, a little relieved but uncomfortable at the same time before glancing towards Soobin who gave her a reassuring smile.

It had only been a day but it was noticeable how close Soobin and Jaewon had suddenly become.

Everyone at the table wondered how but chose not to ask, respecting the privacy of their friends. Beomgyu, on the other hand, could just not stop shooting lasers at Soobin who pretended not to notice.

The rest of the day went by pretty quickly, all the five friends slowly looking forward to summer break as Beomgyu finally made a decision about his.

Choi Jaewon went to the gates and waited for Beomgyu once school was over. When her boyfriend finally arrived, she raised her hand to wave him over but then caught sight of Jisoo, sobbing and clinging onto his arms.

Pushing down her angry jealousy, she marched over to them and looked at Beomgyu, expecting an answer.

The male quickly shook his head, not wanting the girl he actually liked to misunderstand before yanking his arm out of Jisoo's iron like grip.

"You have to! Who else am I supposed to spend time with?" Jisoo yelled and a few people passing by glanced towards them.

"Jisoo just apologize to Kai!" Beomgyu snapped, looking more annoyed than Jaewon had ever seen him.

Jisoo frantically shook her head, crying even more now.

"You have to come! Or else I-" Jisoo started, grabbing the poor male again.

"FINE I'll come jeez!" Beomgyu finally exploded, pulling his arm away one more time.

Jaewon stared at them before pushing Jisoo and grabbing Beomgyu's hand and leading him away.

"See you then!" Jisoo yelled quickly before skipping off, no signs of sadness on her face.

Beomgyu and Jaewon walked in silence, hand in hand before she finally asked.

"What was that about?"

Beomgyu sighed looking a little stressed before replying.

"Jisoo cheated on Kai so he broke up with her and now she's all alone for the summer trip. She wanted me to come with her so I said yes..." he trailed off, now looking guilty since he had originally decided to go with TXT and Jaewon to Japan.

"Oh." was the only thing Jaewon said.

If you told this to Jaewon 2 weeks ago, she would have canceled going on the trip at once, not believing she could have fun without Beomgyu. But now, TXT were her friends. Best friends. She would be fine without Beomgyu for a while.

"It's okay."

Beomgyu sighed in relief before giving Jaewon a hug as if to make up for the time they wouldn't spend together.

The couple arrived at Beomgyu's house around 30 minutes later, greeting the male's mother who cooed at how beautiful Jaewon was before they both left to his room.

Upon entering Beomgyu's room, both people blushed. Jaewon because she was unsure about how this was going to go and Beomgyu because they were both alone in his room.

He quickly cleaned up any stray belonging before taking out his english things from his notebook and sitting down on the grey carpet at the foot of his bed. Jaewon followed, pulling out her own things and then taking a seat next to him, legs crossed.

They both started working at once since they didn't want to have a late assignment. Beomgyu was student who got grades despite becoming a troublemaker and Jaewon was trying to catch up on her not so nice grades so they both worked hard into the night.

Beomgyu's mother, happy her son was with someone like Jaewon, brought snacks and made sure the two were comfortable as time went by, eventually asking Jaewon to stay for dinner although she politely refused claiming that her father wanted her back soon.

When they were both alone again, they decided to take a short break as they had been working on the same paper for an hour now and were getting tired.

Beomgyu raised his arms and stretched his muscles before falling onto Jaewon's lap. Startled for the first few seconds, she soon threaded her fingers through Beomgyu's soft grey hair as he closed his eyes and fell asleep.

Choi Jaewon smiled as she held onto Beomgyu's sleeping figure. How had she been lucky enough to get a boy like him? He was so precious to her, she would do anything for him.

Pushing stray hair from the male's handsome face, she took a second to admire his beautiful lips and dazzling face. As if enchanted, Jaewon found herself leaning down, eyes still stuck on his lips as memories of their first kiss filled her mind.

In all honesty, Jaewon had absolutely no idea why she had pecked Beomgyu's lips in the darkness of the theater. She just acted upon instinct, feeling the need to tell him how she felt in that moment.

Beomgyu's eyes fluttered open.

At the sight of his girlfriends face, his own couldn't help but turn into a shade of pink, finding Jaewon too close and too beautiful for his poor heart.

Gaining sudden confidence by her now surprised face, he sat up and flipped them both around with sudden strength. Now Jaewon lay on the mat with a startled face expression and Beomgyu was on top of her.

Pushing away their english assignment, Beomgyu leaned down without hesitation and placed his lips against Jaewon's, hands falling beside her face to support his body. Jaewon's body reacted before her mind, face turning red as her arms wrapped automatically around Beomgyu's neck and pulling him closer.

Before anything more could happen though, the door burst open and Beomgyu's mom gasped, causing the both to pull away from each other at once.

Blushing furiously, Jaewon stood up, grabbing her bag and bowing to Beomgyu's mother before rushing out of the house, mind still thinking about her kiss with the boy she liked as Beomgyu blushed standing in front of his poor mom.
