Chapter 50

50

LONELY! TXT.

"Pathetic! Haha look at her."

"I can't believe her. She acts like she's all mighty."

"God I thought she was rich or something by the way she acts."

"I know right! Who would have thought she was such shit?"

Jaewon walked into the cafeteria, a place she had started avoiding again, and looked around catching sight of the popular table.

Her eyes caught Beomgyu, her former lover, laughing and looking just a little uncomfortable while Kai was slapping his back and Jisoo was sitting on the table in front of him. Kai's best friend, whatever his name was, was just sitting across them all, laughing and pointing out stuff.

Anger filled the girl at the sight of Beomgyu's happy face and she marched up to him, grabbing him by the collar and pulling him off of his seat.

"What th-"

Jaewon drew her hand back and punched Beomgyu's face. The boy fell over in shock, wincing as pain filled his facial area.

Silence filled the cafeteria, Beomgyu's gasp the only thing anyone could hear.

"You're a piece of shit." The girl spat, fuming in anger.

"Jaewon!" she heard Yeonjun's voice yell from behind her but she ignored it.

Instead, she climbed over to Beomgyu and punched him again, eyes practically full of angry fire. She continued to punch him, over and over again as she poured out all of her hate onto him. Beomgyu's skin become rough, blood seeping through and onto Jaewon's knuckles but still the girl didn't stop.

Jaewon had trusted him. She had actually told him about her life, and what did he do in return?

He told the whole school.

"You. Are. A. Fucking. Asshole." the girl cursed, punching repeatedly without showing any signs of stopping.

Jaewon felt someone grab her shoulders and pull her off of Beomgyu but she made no attempt to crawl back, already tired.

Tears met her eyes and she fell against the person holding her. Turning her head, she realized it was Yeonjun who was staring at her with remorse filled eyes covered by care.

"It's okay Jaewon. I'm here for you." Yeonjun muttered, holding her despite her shaking figure and bloody knuckles.

Jaewon cried, wrapping her arms around Yeonjun and breaking down despite the fact she knew everyone was watching her.

It was too much. Everything was too much. How could Beomgyu do something like this? He knew how much her life affected her.

Beomgyu slowly turned, breathing heavily as he moaned in pain. His once handsome face was covered in bruises now and all the kids were staring at him as if he was some foreigner.

"How does it feel to be popular?" Jaewon spat, struggling to stand up.

The blue haired male stood up and held out his hand which Jaewon took. They both stood side by side, staring down at Beomgyu who remained in pain, broken on the ground.

The popular kids and his so called 'friends' made no effort to help him and some were even snickering behind his back.

Kai was just staring at him with wide eyes, almost looking as if he genuinely wanted to help.

"I-I.." Beomgyu stuttered, unable to form words thanks to his now swollen lip and shaky breath.

"If you think there is even a single chance for us now, you're wrong." Jaewon shot before she turned around and walked out of the cafeteria, Yeonjun following.

"Jaewon wait up!"

"Yeonjun leave me alone." The girl shot and continued walking at a fast pace.

Stepping outside of campus, Jaewon tightened the strap of her backpack that hung on her left shoulder before walking forward again, towards home.

She was going to skip the rest of the day, including detention.

Yeonjun followed closely behind, not wanting to lose sight of the broken girl.

"Choi talk to me!" he called out and she shook her head, refusing to do so.

Yeonjun and Jaewon turned around the corner of the street when they caught sight of the most unbelievable thing.

Huening Kai crying

Finally Jaewon's emotionless face expression cracked as with a gasp, she and Yeonjun watched some random kids pin the shaking boy against the wall and yell at him. TXT's maknae cried, shaking his head frantically as he said something inaudible to the older school kids.

The boy holding Huening Kai against the wall scoffed before drawing his hand back and punching him.

Jaewon dropped her bag.

Without a second thought, the girl started walking towards the bullies, hands forming tight fists before grabbing the boy off of Huening Kai and punching him straight in the face.

Startled, the older boy fell down as Huening Kai gasped, shocked by the sudden appearance of Jaewon as the girl winced a little, knuckles stinging from the bruises she had received after beating up Beomgyu.

"What the hell! Do you want to die, lady?" the bully screamed, ego clearly hurt by the fact a girl had taken him down.

The boy's 'gang' all started crowding in on Jaewon, shocked but angry at her for taking down their leader.

"Don't you know it's not nice to bully kids?" Jaewon scoffed, not at all scared.

Yeonjun had quickly gathered himself and had ran towards them, grabbing Huening Kai and pulling him away from the group at once.

With a strangled gasp, the maknae fell against the older's chest as he hugged him, sobbing and muttering something about not having money for these bullies.

Yeonjun held the boy close, a protective feeling growing over him and anger flooding him at the thought of someone hurting his baby.

"How dare they." he muttered furiously, holding the maknae close.

Huening Kai held onto Yeonjun's shirt, mad at himself for getting into this situation but feeling scared at the same time.

He had just been peacefully walking home when these kids from another school showed up and dragged him here, trying to force him into giving them money. Scared out of his wits, the boy had no idea what to do as he didn't have any money with him and was beaten up by the older kids until Jaewon and Yeonjun had showed up.

Now, all the boys were rounding up on Jaewon shooting daggers at her through their eyes while Yeonjun and Huening stood a little further away, trapped in each other's arms.

Choi Jaewon couldn't feel anything except hate for the kid in front of her. He had touched her friend, her younger brother almost. He had hurt the baby of her group.

"No one messes with my maknae." the girl said, voice as cold as ice.

A few people flinched, startled someone looking so innocent could be this scary. The bully rolled his eyes, annoyed as he wiped away blood on his cheek from Jaewon's punch.

"Do you know who I am-" he started but was interrupted.

"Why the fuck should I care about who you are? You're bullying an innocent kid for no reason." Jaewon replied, flexing her knuckles as the 'gang' neared her, ready to beat her.

"I am Sungjoo Lim! My father is one of the richest men in Korea!"

"Oh shut up." the girl snapped, annoyed as 'Sungjoo's' eyes widened.

"H..Hey! Why are you idiots just standing there! Beat her up or something!" Sungjoo said instead, quickly turning to his friends.

"B..Beat her up? But she's a girl!"

Jaewon rolled her eyes, not noticing Yeonjun pull away from Huening who whined a little. Yeonjun gave Huening Kai a look before slowly making his way over to Jaewon.

"Who cares! She hurt my face! Do you know how much this face is worth-" Sungjoo was silenced when Jaewon punched his face again.

The boy staggered back, looking at her with wide angry eyes before yelling.

"You little shit! I'm going to kill you!" Sungjoo yelled before reaching forward to punch her.

Not expecting the random hit, Jaewon took a step back and closed her eyes, waiting for impact but opened them again when it never came. Her eyes widened when she saw a fist right in front of her, not reaching her face because someone had grabbed it. Turning, she finally caught sight of Yeonjun who let go of Sungjoo's stray hand before punching him in the stomach.

Shocked at the sight of violent Yeonjun, the girl gasped and took another step back again before looking at the blue hair weirdo with wide eyes.

Choi Yeonjun stared back until another random boy ran forward and raised his fist to punch him. With his quick reflexes, Yeonjun grabbed the boy's arm and twisted it, causing a pained expression to break on the bully's face.

Finally recovering herself, Jaewon raised her leg and kicked the boy who fell down moaning in pain.

In an instant, Yeonjun and Jaewon were standing back to back, the bullies getting closer towards them with a reckless impulse flowing through them. They were all ready to fight.

Shit was about to go down

With a random yell from one of the boys, they all ran in at once, raising their fists and getting ready to kick. Jaewon doged the first attack before swinging her arm and punching someone's stomach. Beside her, Yeonjun kicked someone's chest before punching another guy's jaw. Jaewon punched another boy, breaking his nose, and winced again by the bruises on her knuckles before someone hit her face. Startled, the girl staggered backwards until Yeonjun grabbed onto her and pulled her towards him, kicking the boy who had dare hit his girl.

The two gave each other one firm look before going back into the fight as Huening Kai stood by the side with wide eyes.

Within minutes, all the bullies were lying on the ground moaning in pain.

Jaewon crouched down over Sungjoo Lim's crying figure and wiped the blood off of her hands and onto his shirt.

"Did you learn your lesson?" the girl asked, standing back up.

Sungjoo frantically nodded his head, not daring to look away from the girl as his eyes threatened to spill tears.

Jaewon rolled her eyes before grabbing her abandoned bag and swinging it onto her shoulder. Without another word, she set off on her way to home, hand stinging in pain.

She hadn't fought this much in a while.

"W..Wait!"

At the sound of Huening Kai's voice, Jaewon turned around ready to tell him to 'leave her alone' but froze when the boy ran into her and engulfed her into a hug.

"H..Huening!" she stuttered, clearly in shock before hesitantly hugging her back.

Yeonjun came into view as he jogged towards them but stopped and smiled at the sight of his two favorite people hugging.

"Thank you! Thank you so much!" the younger boy cried, making Jaewon realize how much this actually could have traumatized him.

"Y..Ya! You're my maknae, how could I just leave you like that?" Jaewon mumbled, embarrassed as the boy finally pulled away.

Huening Kai gave her a huge smile before Yeonjun came up from behind him and tackled him.

"What about me huh? Are you not gonna thank me?" the oldest asked, chuckling.

"Hyung!" Huening whined, pulling away and running off.

"WAIT YOUR BAG IDIOT!"

but Huening Kai was already gone.

"Stupid."

Jaewon and Yeonjun laughed before silence filled the air.

Silently agreeing for Yeonjun to deliver Huenign Kai's bag later, they both set off towards the undeveloped part of Seoul where they lived, not exchanging any words but still glancing at each other.

Finally, unable to withstand the silence, Yeonjun spoke.

"Are your hands okay?"

Jaewon glanced at him and back at her hands before sighing a little and nodding.

Why was she even acting cold towards him? He never did anything wrong.

"W...Would you like for me to bandage them?" Yeonjun nervously stuttered.

Jaewon shrugged.

"You don't have to. I can do it myself. I used to do it all the time before..." she trailed off, remembering how much she used to fight after her mother passed away.

Yeonjun stopped walking causing Jaewon to stop as well.

When she turned to look at him, she was startled to see an angry expression on his face.

"Why are you so damn lonely, Choi?"

Jaewon blinked, surprised by the sudden outburst from the blue hair weirdo.

"I..I don't know. It's just always been like that I guess." she stuttered in response as Yeonjun took quick steady breaths, trying to calm himself.

"Well that doesn't matter anymore. You have friends now, you have me now." he answered and she felt her cheeks become a little pink.

"You don't have to be alone anymore Jaewon. We're here for you, we love you."

Jaewon blinked again, breathing becoming a bit heavy as Yeonjun stepped towards her and held her shoulders, dropping Huening Kai's bag.

"We care about you Jaewon, we all genuinely love you."

"L..Love me?" she stuttered once again, confused.

Yeonjun might have seen different sides of Jaewon but seeing her clueless to the word 'love' was new and heartbreaking.

Someone as amazing as Jaewon hadn't felt or experienced love in forever which didn't make sense to him at all, no wonder she was named the 'cold queen' of the school.

Yeonjun pulled Jaewon towards him, placing his hand on her chin and lifting her head so that their eyes met and both blushed.

"I love you."

Yeonjun gently placed his lips against hers, holding her close as she froze in his grasp. Shock filled her but at the same time, Jaewon could feel something else. Something new tugging at her heart, something she hadn't felt in a long time.

The way Choi Yeonjun kissed her, the way he showed her his love...

It reminded Jaewon of how much she loved her mother.

"Y...Yeonjun!" Jaewon stuttered out loud when he pulled away, closing his eyes and resting his forehead against hers.

She didn't know what to say. She was flustered by how she was feeling right now.

Jaewon had already realized she liked Yeonjun in Busan itself but now there was something more. She was feeling something more towards Yeonjun but couldn't exactly figure out what it was.

What was it about this blue hair weirdo that always made her overthink things?

"I like you so damn much Choi." Yeonjun whispered, hands settled around her waist.

His eyes remained close, maybe because he was scared about opening them again and facing the harsh reality or maybe simply because if he looked at Jaewon again, he would end up kissing her.

"Y..Yeonjun..."

There wasn't anything else she could say. Her mouth was almost glued shut by some invisible force, preventing her from speaking what she actually wanted to say. She blinked her eyes quickly, breathing heavily.

Finally, Yeonjun pulled away from her and gave a small but beautiful smile.

He bent down to pick up Huening Kai's abandoned school bag before carefully holding her hand and smiling.

"Come on." he said and led her towards his house.

Jaewon chose not to protest, not being able to speak anyway as they both entered Yeonjun's home.

Once inside, Yeonjun left Jaewon seated on the couch before leaving to somewhere and returning with bandages.

He sat next to her and Jaewon flinched a little when he held her hands and pulled them onto his lap.

"Tell me if it hurts." he said.

Letting go of Jaewon's hand, Yeonjun brought out a small bottle and dipped in a cotton bud before pulling it out again and rubbing it on her bruises and torn skin.

Jaewon hissed, her bruises stinging, but made no attempt to pull away, trusting Yeonjun completly.

After he was done, he brought out some bandages and began slowly wrapping them tightly and firmly around her hands, left first and then the right one.

Finishing fairly quickly, he examined his work before nodding to himself and leaving to put away the medicine and leftover bandages.

He returned again and sighed a little when he noticed her stand up, ready to leave.

"Heading home?" he asked and Jaewon nodded.

"It's getting late and I should probably sleep soon..."

Yeonjun nodded, understanding her reason as today was a school night but still wishing she could have stayed over.

Jaewon walked towards the door, quickly slipping over her shoes before glancing at Yeonjun and sighing a little. Hesitating for the briefest second, Jaewon spoke again.

"I..I'll see you tomorrow. In school."

Yeonjun looked up, a small sliver lining of hope suddenly filling him. That meant she was going to start talking with him and TXT again.

"Y..Yeah. See you!" he waved at her, smile becoming wider as she let out a small laugh.

This time, without hesitation, Jaewon stood up on her tip toes and kissed Yeonjun's cheek.

Yeonjun, shocked, let out a small gasp and quickly touched the spot she had kissed as he watched her grin and leave his house.

Face pink, the blue hair weirdo turned around and threw himself onto his couch, letting out a squeal as he thought about Jaewon.
